Cast Iron Grill

I went for lunch and it was really busy. I had the chicken fried steak and let me tell you, it was one of the best I've ever had! I picked the green Chile and it was so good! The macaroni and cheese was not your average macaroni and cheese,it was the real deal homemade type. I would definitely recommend this place but come early! Oh and save room for dessert!

Spectacular Chicken Fried Steak Breakfast. Breading was bar none the best I've had in my 63 years. (Sorry Kelley's, & T-Bone Tom's). Great biscuits and very good gravy. Our server, Yasmin, was perfect, personable, and efficient. Decor was better than average.

I would definitely recommend coming to this restaurant, especially if you’re from out of town like we are the chicken fried steak and chicken tender meal was to die for everything was freshly made. Sweet tea was super good honestly one of the best sweet teas I’ve ever tasted in my life.!! our waitress was super sweet and made us feel welcome. Not out of place even though you can tell we were not from here. LOL I definitely recommend to try the desserts as well and to grab it as soon as you get seated because once you are done with your dinner. They will most likely not be any left lol that’s how good it is.!

My wife and I had lunch on September 25, 2025, and it was yummy as always! Don't let the jammed parking lot worry you because they are always super busy. We walked in and were immediately seated. Our appetizer was delivered quickly, as well as our entrees. They are just good at handling a large number of customers, but don't skimp on the quality of their food! It's just amazing how quickly they can serve such a volume of customers with top-notch service and good old home-cooked food! This is a place you need to put on your list of places to eat, especially if you like good food and GREAT DESERTS!!!! The norm is to eat and take a delicious dessert with you when you leave.

This was our first time trying cast iron! My daughter and I came in and sat down waited for over 5 minutes before anybody even brought us menus. The whole time I watched all of the waitress in there very short shorts ( not attractive ) make eye contact with us and still never came to our table. I started to get very irritated. Once We got our menus we were served and got our food in No time!! I was very hopeful because I have hurd good thing about this restaurant. But once we got our food I was still irritated and disappointed. My eggs and pancakes were good but my potatoes were cold and tasted old, my bacon was over cooked and hard as a rock! Very disappointing!

AMAZING!! FOOD 👏 ATMOSPHERE GREAT❤️WAIT AND COOKING STAFF ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!💯💯 It's a MUST! I am from out of town, and I'm still drooling over the chicken fried chicken with the Andy's mashed potatoes 🤤 and bannana pudding for dessert! The chicken spaghetti and Philly steak sandwich are also winners!! 👌 You gotta go! I will definitely be back.

Good is great. Our server at the bar this morning was amazing. I will say tho some of the waitress like to talk crap about customers behind the bar like we can't hear and that's not okay. Management should do some house cleaning.

Some down-home cooked meals! Perfect and beer inexpensive. The waitresses were top notch! Wish I brought cash so I could tip them more!

Incredible homemade and fresh breakfast as usual. Made it on a Monday around 9:30 am and we weren't too late to have the fresh biscuits and gravy this time! The bacon was perfectly crispy, coffee was piping hot, and the steak and eggs were fresh and made to order. Our favorite place in Lubbock for breakfast! Don't forget to grab a slice of homemade pies on offer in the fridge by the slice ($6)!! Thank you

Consistently good food and service. Order is always right, never takes too long even if they are busy and staff is always friendly. It does get a little loud at lunch, but nothing crazy like Dirks (IYKYK). Chicken friend steak is good, probably #2 in Lubbock.

Dropped off our truck and picked up rental car. This place was recommended and just down the street. Great service by really nice ladies. Lots of funny signs on the walls. Food is southern and very good. The wife had pork chops with okra and onion rings. I had chicken fried chicken with mashers and onion rings. Huge portions.

OK, this is COMFORT FOOD heaven. No lo-cal, vegan, gluten-free stuff here. It's what you used to get in diners and cafes across America. Had the Huevos Rancheros which came with a large serving of bacon and home fries. Large portions, great flavor. The waitresses call you "Hon" and it's all good!

One of the best places to eat in Lubbock. Don't miss out! Only open weekdays until 2pm. Fresh food. Service is excellent you couldn't ask for it to be better. Great staff!! Always stop by when in town. Dunn home cooking!! Great experience. It's always busy.

Great place to eat. I had the chicken fried steak. It was wonderfully seasoned and the breading to steak ratio was perfect. I definitely recommend this place!

Great food, great atmosphere, and top-notch service. We come here every time we're in Lubbock...but only on weekdays since they're closed on the weekend. I can't wait to try the cream pie - I bought a slice after breakfast but left it in the fridge at the AirBNB! This is definitely the best breakfast spot in Lubbock for homestyle breakfast.

Food = excellent Service = excellent Ambiance = amazing! I could not stop speaking out loud how amazing this place smells upon entering. The sight and smell of fresh baked goods are magnificent to behold especially first thing in the morning. I arrived just as cups of banana pudding were being filled, pecan pie being dished out sending cinnamon and vanilla scents wafting through the air. I has placed an order for chicken fried steak and egg breakfast to-go, but those wonderful smells convinced me to add a slice of butter chess pie AND Texas delight. Don't judge me!

So much to love about this place. This is THE place to go for comfort food. Owner is precious and is running her own mission field. Never disappointed with the food. Grab a dessert on your way in or it will be sold out.

The week of Thanksgiving is probably not the best to review but I was there today so here it is. There were hundreds of pies near the entrance because everybody wants one, and they're great. I just wanted lunch. A little disappointed because they were out of onion rings and the fries were old and hard. The burger though, magnificent. Half pound patty cooked just right with loads of flavor. Server was great and the atmosphere is always good. I'll have to go back to get onion rings.

For a Monday afternoon the place was packed. I was able to get a seat at the bar and was served right away. The staff were all very nice. When you think of a Texas BBQ place, this is kind of the vibe I anticipate. I ordered the Brisket Burger and it was a large serving and very good. I'd recommend getting the french fries.

Large place. We were promptly greeted with friendly smiles. Our waitress (Brandy M) was top notch, excellent. Didn't ever have to wait for coffee & water refills. Breakfast portions were very generous (& quickly served). Overall A++ experience. (and the pies!!! we didn't have room for dessert, should have had pie first!)

Came here for lunch on a Thursday with a big group and the food was hot and came out pretty quickly. I got the chopped steak with the hatch green chili gravy and I will be coming back for dessert ‍‍‍‍

Fried okra was the best I've ever had. Hand breaded and delicious! Onion rings were amazing too!! Thanks for the homemade ranch! Was thinking the green chili gravy was going to be creamy but it was not so I ordered the regular gravy and mixed it in. Service was impeccable and and Theresa the owner WORKS!!! Great place!

the food is amazing, and the service is very attentive! half of the population was inside there on a Friday morning so i imagine it is hard to get a seat, but we had a reservation for our Department Head Christmas breakfast. definitely will return! i got the breakfast burrito, super good and all great prices! Don't forget pie!!!!!

Chicken fried steak! No wonder they are so popular! The ambiance of just a good old fashioned cafe feel with great decor. Wait staff is whip smart and on it.

Delicious Texas comfort food, friendly and efficient service, lively ambiance. We had lunch after a university tour. Loved the fried green beans, chicken fried chicken, and mashed potatoes. Other members of my group had chicken fingers that were crispy and tasty. Looking forward to visiting again when we come back to Lubbock

Omigosh, the pie is phenomenal . We had chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken. Outstanding! . Great service!

So- came for breakfast -as our usual place (The Pancake House)-was closed. Well, this was great! I had egg whites, and a short stack, while my husband had the breakfast sandwich. The pancakes were FAR better than our usual. They were moist and soft, and my husband said his sandwich was amazing. Milli was our server, and she was super sweet and attentive. This is a definite breakfast stop- a little "old school" in the way of choices, but that's probably why the food is great. Also- check out the desserts!!!

Cast iron grill is home style perfected. The food is incredible, you would have trouble ordering something off of this menu you didn't find delicious. Always have the best desserts up front on display. The wait staff always have such a welcoming and comforting demeanor. It feels more like when you were a kid and you would go over and eat at your best friends house who had the mom who could really cook and was always happy to see you, that kind of welcoming feel if that makes sense.

The breakfast was great! The service was great! The booth appearance was clean and neat! The bathrooms were in good condition. We will definitely eat there again!

This place is delicious! Waitresses are extremely friendly, food is great. I travel a ton for work, so finding that "home cooked meal" is always a treat. I think I've been here 5 times in 3 weeks. I always bring my guys here for lunch. Delicious food, will definitely be a regular customer!

Went to Cast Iron Grill for the first time. Was very good ! We both had chicken fried steaks, mine with cream gravy and my husband's had green chili gravy. Onion rings were best I'd ever had. Pies looked delicious, but we had no room left. Service was fast and friendly. Restaurant was clean and well decorated.

Went for breakfast. Had biscuits and gravy, bacon, and hash browns. Have never had a bad meal. Until now.. gravy and biscuits were ok. Bacon and hashbrowns tasted old! Like they were past there cook date.

We have eaten at the Cast Iron Grill a couple of times. It was very crowded and very loud both times but the food was delicious and we had great service. They brought our food out quickly and it was all real good and served hot.

I go here every time I'm in Lubbock. Great food, great atmosphere, great service, and great prices!!!

If you like homemade style made-from-scratch comfort food including fabulous pies, then this is the place to go. Breakfasts and lunches are frankly, some of the best meals you can buy in Lubbock. Prices are reasonable and service is great! I recommend their chicken fried steak with green chili cream gravy. Get you some! Mmmm....

What a wonderful surprise! Came here for lunch during a work trip and will be back next time I'm in Lubbock. Great food at a great price. The place was very busy for lunch but we got our food super fast. Great Texas decor inside as well. I got the grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli cheese rice. The sides were just as tasty as the chicken. Highly recommended!

Amazing food, Hugh selection. Desserts are to die for. Sometimes have to wait to be seated or server to get to you, but it's because they are busy.

Are here for the first time with my daughter. I had the patty melt with fried green beans. The sandwich was really good and they made it correctly (with rye). My daughter had the chicken fried steak with mac/cheese and fried okra. The food tasted great. The service was very good and we got our food quickly. It's a cute place with a rustic ambiance.

Good thing I didn't do any gummies this time, they seated us in a room full of law dawgs. That's ok, felt secure and sober the whole meal. I remember what I ate this time, the Cast Iron Club and a cup of the green chili stew, the wife had a chicken fry. The wife and I thought the service, food and atmosphere were all excellent. There's more pie in this place than you can shake a stick at, all kinds too. My nose would get to twitching and sure nuff, here would come another piece of pie by our table headed to another table. The wife and I decided we would share a piece of millionaires pie, it was awesome. I think the wife enjoyed herself as much as I did. Not sure whose wife she was but we both thought this place deserved 5 stars.

If this is Lubbock's premier breakfast place--we are all in a (canola oil drenched) heap of trouble. I couldn't get the cooks / wait staff to use anything but unhealthful canola oil on the eggs. They were drenched in it. Boring Wonder bread. Despite asking for no mushrooms, the omelette was chocked full of them. I left 80% of the food behind and will go to a bagel place to patch things up. Low grade orange juice. No thanks. Wow. Sooo disappointing. I wish I could say that I was warned.

Ate here for breakfast today. Have heard good things about the Cast Iron Grill but just never ventured off to that part of town. BreaKfast was AMAZING. My wife had two egg breakfast with sausage and potatoes. She is not normally a big eater but she cleaned her plate today. I had the chicken fried steak with eggs and potatoes. Without a doubt one of the BEST chicken fried steaks I have ever eaten. It was oh so tasty and fork tender. Service was wonderful. My coffee cup stayed filled. Also had the pleasure of meeting Teresa, the owner, on this visit. She was an absolute delight to get to meet and visit with. This was a GREAT way to start off our day and we will be going back for sure. THANKS!

I got the special, which was a delicious pot-roast covered in gravy. The broccoli mash was amazing as was the roll. Really killer food. They didn't have soda water so I was forced to drink something called H2O.... I'm unfamiliar with clear drinks that don't fizz, so I assume this was some kind of newfangled alien space juice. I asked for lime and got lemon, but I guess that's life...

Great ambience, really fast service, the food was delicious, portions were nice size. Well worth the price.

Are you gonna be pride? The food was wonderful. I had the chicken strips which are hand dipped, mashed potatoes and green beans. Everything was on point with flavor and seasoning. Has Ben had the chop steak with mushrooms and brown gravy. Mashed potatoes again, green beans. Everything was great a friend had a chef salad that was loaded with everything on it. Service was wonderful and bathrooms were clean, which is a huge thing for us. We will definitely be back again.

The food was piping hot, fresh, and fast to our table! The waitresses were well trained, with a great attention to detail. The waiters and kitchen staff are incredibly friendly, and available to assist. Anyone. Anytime. The owner was there. As busy as any other person. A classic breakfast joint with a bar and a patio! An attractive and attentive wait staff, and this place is dog friendly! I started with the house coffee which was perfectly served in a warm mug and perfect temperature. Had to try the hand breaded Chicken Fried Steak with fresh house made gravy, and topped with two perfectly cooked over medium eggs and hash-brown potatoes. My bride ordered the western omelette with hash-browns. What was a pleasant surprise was that a pancake was included with both entrees. Let me tell that this short order cook in the kitchen is a master of his craft. Both orders were cooked perfect! Five stars Chef! And remember the homemade pancake batter that grandma would mix up? Well this place knows how to make THOSE pancakes. Five stars Chef! When in Lubbock, visiting Lubbock, or driving through Lubbock, you better stop for breakfast or lunch!

Was so thrilled finding this place when we came from New Mexico for Doctors appointment. It was out of the way but it was so worth it. Great food and fast service. Our server, Yasmin, was the most excellent attentive cheerful server of all time. Everyone was wonderful. I just wish I had a as bed room for a piece of pie.
