My husband picked this restaurant when we were on vacation. I told him that I wanted pancakes or waffles so he picked here for breakfast. The atmosphere was appropriate for the name of the restaurant but to me it felt outdated and kind of tacky. The food was ok. My husband got the "dirty south biscuit" and he said it was good. I ordered 1 pancake with a side of 1 egg scrambled and a side of bacon. The bacon was fantastic as I like my bacon super crispy and this was that! My egg came out cold and was nothing special. The pancake that I had been craving was just not good. It tasted like buckwheat or whole wheat or something. I asked the waitress what kind of pancake it was and she said sourdough buttermilk. I've never heard of sourdough pancakes before and I hope I never have one again. It came with cinnamon butter and syrup. The coffee was very good with multiple flavor options. I got the salted caramel and the flavor was really good but it wasn't super hot so by the time I added cream it was almost cold. I just don't think that I would ever come back to this restaurant.

We visited Cast Iron Kitchen for brunch and had an amazing experience. I ordered the chicken & pancakes with a side of grits, and my husband had the Not Your Mama’s Meatloaf with grits as well. Everything was absolutely delicious! The grits were the best I’ve ever tasted — creamy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was great too. We will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend Cast Iron Kitchen to anyone looking for a fantastic brunch spot in Wilmington!

We got the vegetable garden omelette, the breakfast biscuit and a pancake. Nothing was that good. The omelette tasted like it was made with powdered eggs and fermented vegetables. The biscuit was dry and crumbled when touched so you can't even put butter on it :(. The breakfast sandwich was ok but definitely not $8 good. And the pancake was dry and felt almost stale. The staff was great, friendly warm and inviting. Basically if a $3.25 black coffee is your thing this might be a place for you.

This was the first time my partner and I ate here. It was wonderful. Home town atmosphere, only a 10 minute wait on a busy Sunday morning and the food was incredible. Attached is a pick of their cinnamon roll (which I took to go because I was so full). I asked for extra maple frosting. Yum yum.

Food has potential but definitely not what I was expecting. The food was Very bland look delicious but it wasn’t at all . We ordered the short rib and the regular hash skillet. The Chimichurri was flavorful on the short rib, but everything else had no flavor sadly! .. the drinks were meh as well we ordered the strawberry field and the port side, Paloma. Won’t be back headed back He made it back to Florida ;) nevertheless our server Nikki was great ! And the cinnamon roll was great 10/10

After working a night shift, my husband and I experienced this place for the first time. Our greeter/hostess was kind. The waitress was above and beyond excellent. The food was outstanding! I thought I made amazing grits...their grits were silky and creamy. The sausage, homemade, was out of this world. The breakfast burger...wow! Opens at 8am. We now know why the parking lot was swarmed 3 minutes before opening time. We will be back!

I've been wanting to try this spot for the past three years. Finally, I had a chance to check it out. Food is good. I had the shrimp chorizo omellete with Jalapeños, surprisingly it was spice and hearty. I had the oj shot drink. I think it's called breakfast OJ. Also the salior coffee.

Recently came across this restaurant on a YouTube video, since it was Labor Day weekend we made the drive from Wake Forest to try it out. We got to the restaurant before the crowd did, the staff is super friendly, Vincent was our waiter, he made some great recommendations, very attentive. The experience was great, definitely worth the drive. Will need to do the drive again.
