I attended the prefix menu vegan roast and it was incredible! Such a great value and so fresh and delicious with the perfect amount of spice. Seeding was family style for this event, and such a great idea to get to know your neighbors.

Found this place by accident and glad we came in. The food is amazing! You have to order at the counter and they bring it to you. I saw tons of craft beers in cans. Not sure but I think I saw 2 taps. Parking is super limited. Has a bathroom but I didn’t use it. I had a special that was posted on the wall. Super delicious.

It’s an eclectic place with great food. We did several dishes. I can’t wait to return and get a pizza. Drink specials after 3pm were nice and a good draft selection 🍻

We used to come here at least once a week because it used to be the best burger place in Stockton with great beer and ever since it changed management the food isn’t as great.. almost as if they are switching ingredients for cheaper quality(jelly on the Pb&j burger and pickles) and they also increased the prices but somehow portions got way smaller. Seems like they lost a lot of staff too because my food took 57 minutes to be ready. All these changes have not been great and It’s very unfortunate because it was one of our favorite dinner spots. Probably won’t be returning. I’ll some photos showing how food quality and portions have changed

Amazing food!!! Super tasty & fresh! Very friendly staff :) We had burgers, BLT & the specials’ menu smash burger & veggie wrap. They even made us plain pasta instead of Mac and cheese. All dishes were HUGE! Highly recommended!

I love that they have a variety of vegan options! I git the “Chicken Thang” and its pretty good! We also came during Happy hour so it was amazing. 🤩

Stumbled across this place early when they first opened. I have to say the burger was excellent, juicy and yummy. Southwest salad was tasty as well! Prices were great and excellent service. Highly recommend and will be back

Arrived for a Friday night dinner during happy hour. We ordered two cast iron burgers with fries, a basket of tots, and a side salad with added bacon. I ordered my burger medium-well done. We were excited--we've had the cast iron burger three times before so I was expecting a juicy and flavorful burger. What we got were undercooked, under seasoned, and just warm. Not even the fries and tots were hot. It was as if all the food had been sitting before being served? Weird as it was unlike my previous experiences before. My burger was still raw inside and because I'm pregnant, we had to send it back for a redo. The new burger was hot this time and the carmelized onions were tastier, but the patty was still tasteless? All I could taste with were the onions and arugula. My husband felt the same about his burger and tasted my new one as well. Add insult to injury, the added bacon to the salad couldn't have been more than one slice of bacon crushed into bits for $3. The quality of the food has usually been worth the high price but with the recent price increases, lackluster service, and practically-bland $17 burgers, it was a very disappointing meal. I am not sure we will return.

Absolutely delicious food, and I greatly appreciate all of the vegetarian and vegan options. Friendly staff, clean place, not noisy at all on a Thursday evening. Kombucha was "okay" and probably not worth the $8. I heard good things about the beer but we didn't try any. Pro Tip: Be sure to check their "Specials" which are often V/V.

Cast Iron is under new ownership and they are better than ever!! Fantastic food, fantastic service and a fun, chill atmosphere. They have a fixed menu with all of the staples and they also offer a seasonal menu that changes every two weeks. Many of their ingredients are locally sourced, which we really appreciate. Cast Iron also has a great beer selection with quite a few N/A beers and a some yummy sodas. Join them on the weekends for live music, good beer and great food! We love Cast Iron and will be back again soon!!.

Where to start... when we walked in we were immediately greeted from Raven who was nothing short of amazing. We asked questions about the menu, being our first time visiting the restaurant, she was patient and friendly, answering every question we had. The food was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS, the service was EXCELLENT, and the ambience was completely AUTHENTIC! We will be back when we are in town again! Thank you Cast Iron Trading team, it was amazing.

Coming back on our second visit and the quality of service remains the same if not greater! This time we brought along the whole family and staff was happy to accommodate our meals to fit out pickiest eaters. The ambiance was enjoyable and having a rotating menu of specials means I got try something totally new and different from last time. This evening I enjoyed half off pizzas for our Littles and $5 pints so I recommend following them on Instagram or their other social media pages to keep up with their special offers and events. Can't wait to bring yhe family back again!

Cast Iron has a really chill ambiance and great service! It's a little gem in downtown Stockton and tbh reminds me of an SF restaurant with how trendy it is. My favorite highlight from the restaurant was the Brussels sprouts tacos! Salty , sweet, and savory! Love that they have vegan and vegetarian options! I ordered a brownie to go and it was okay. I also had a few bites of skillet Mac from a friend and I felt it lacked flavor and was a bit dry. The staff were very friendly and attentive and even helped me decide what dessert I wanted to take home! It was a great evening. I will definitely revisit and try some more items on the menu.

Amazing food and stellar service. I would come back here in a heartbeat, not just for the great 2000s punk/rock playlist, but because they make a killer burger and the people are super friendly. Wait times are very quick here, and you order up front. The food is hot and made with care. Portions are also quite large, so you leave feeling full without a huge sticker price. If you're a beer drinker, you'll also love the selection.

First time here to see a band. Great beer choices. They also have cocktails. Food was delicious and very good! Service was amazing! We had burgers which came with lots of fries. Brussels sprouts were fabulous! Great flavor and stayed crispy. Totchos were a hit! Green Goddess Wrap was also good.

Quite the find!! We were very excited to try out The Cast Iron tonight. First impression - whoa, what a cool place! We quickly learned that we needed to get in line to place our order at the counter then take a seat indoors/outdoors. The staff at the front counter were very friendly and able to answer our questions without hesitation. Additionally, I observed how well the staff worked together which says a lot about morale of the employees (and management). We placed our order and decided to take our cocktails and table-top order placard outside to sit since there was live music outside. No more than 10 minutes later our food was brought out. My one "itch" about our experience is that the food came separately. So while I'm sure my food was hot, I waited until my partners food was served before diving in. By the time his food arrived the outside air had cooled my food. Nonetheless, the food was still very good. I had the regular bacon cheeseburger with fries. The burger was cooked to perfection, melted cheese, touch of dressing and I totally appreciated the arugula on the burger. The seasoned fries were excellent as were the tater tots! There were large amount of tater tots and fries, plenty to share between the two of us, and even then we had leftovers which we gave to someone on the street. The sign reads "best burgers." We've only arrived to town a week ago, however, based on my experience this far, I would agree - best burger in town (so far)! We'll definitely be back!

Honestly the best food spot in the downtown Stockton area! The service is really nice and the food is even better. I substituted regular fries for garlic fries and they tasted like authentic garlic. Everything was so fresh and delicious. They have this green sauce, sooo good i still think about it haha. They have outside seating as well as indoor seating. It is on the bit of the pricey side for lunch but you get what you pay for. 10/10 recommend if you're in the downtown area and in need of a good meal.

Driving up to Calaveras for the weekend to check out the state park - dinner time fell right around the time we were driving near Cast Iron in Stockton - did a quick Yelp search - we decided to take a break and get a real meal vs. fast food. The beer selection was great - happy to find Pliney the Elder on tap and of course ordered that - tasted great and the food was much more than we expected - the tacos, the burgers, the fries, the TATER TOTS! All delicious. We didn't have high expectation, and we were so very pleasantly surprised. Plus, the employees were very nice and seemed happy enough to be there - we don't often end up in Stockton but hey, if you do, you should seriously consider eating and drinking here! -

Don't get me started about their burgers! So freaking fire but when I'm feeling like a skinny girl I get the southwest salad. We need more places like this in the valley. Recognition is needed where it's due. This is a town gem for sure. Btw their alcoholic beverages so good too

Great downtown location. Greeted with a smile and eagerness to serve. Made suggestions and answered questions. The food from the top to bottom was on point!! Even the Catsup and pickles. Had the best BLT sandwich I've ever had!! Margarita was special to look at and tasted amazing! Good selection of IPA brews. Atmosphere inviting and clean! Prices very reasonable! Definitely will

Pros: Very friendly service Good menu with something for everyone Decent food Casual atmosphere Seems like a local favorite Cons: Downtown Stockton feels very sketchy, so this is a bit of an oasis/anomaly The night we visited they had a horrendously bad music group performing outside, which drove us inside (which was pleasant) We waited forever for our food. Counter service. 30-min wait for food. Didn't seem that busy. Other: This place feels like a great place to stop on a rural day trip. Or a ski town spot. But, in downtown Stockton, it feels like it fell out of the sky. I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could.

Stopped in for lunch. Loved the blue-bird sliders with blueberry jam. Husband loved the hamburger. Great service!

This restaurant/pub is located in downtown Stockton. The food is made to order, the ingredients used are fresh and taste high quality. You can tell they take pride in every order whipped out. The service staff is very friendly. For first time visitors, order at the register - the specials on the wall change periodically and they also have a paper menu with other options. Order at the register, pay, collect your number and wait for your food to be brought out to your table (for dine-in). Parking is hectic on weekdays but this place is definitely worth it.

I really enjoy eating here! The specials I enjoy on the wall. The chicken thang with chimichurri sauce is an easy favorite. Veggie Burger was delicious as well love the arugula on it comes with pickles and jalapeños on the side . Staff is friendly and the vibe makes you feel lol you are somewhere else. I'm a big fan and look forward to returning!

Service was great but food not up to par. Went for lunch today around 1 with the hubby. He ordered a burger and i ordered a pesto sando with their rustic tomato soup. We received our food 5 minutes after ordering and it wasn't busy at all. The tomato soup is broth with chunks of tomato and soggy croutons. It was barely warm. I thought okay maybe they served it too fast. Tasted our entree and the food was barely warm. They must precook all their food and have it ready to serve. They should really reconsider serving food that isn't up to temp to avoid food poisoning. I won't be back even tho I strongly believe places deserve second chances. But my stomach cringes at the thought of food poisoning.

I found this place totally last minute on Yelp. I was trying to find a place for 15 people after my daughter's UOP graduation. I initially had reservations for 5:30, but grad ended early, I called and they were able to quickly accommodate us, right after opening! Everyone and I mean everyone loved their meals! Several people orders the Nugget Burger (with PB&J), Cast Iron Burger, Pesto Chicken, Chicken Fried Steak and Tot-Chos. I wish we knew about this place earlier! Now our daughter is done in Stockton, but I am sure we will make another stop. Oh and they are super friendly too

Hip food drink spot in downtown Stockton. Had the Diablo Shrimp Tacos(2) & the Cast Iron Mac & cheese. Soft tacos with big seasoned shrimp,radish, slaw, jalapeños,very tasty. Not overly spicy could have been hotter 4 me. Almost a fettuccine sauce in the mac cheese, breadcrumbs,light flavor & rich. We took a couple of Shrimp/jalapeños outta the tacos & mixed it with the mac cheese. Margaritas, wine & a good beer selection. Live jazz trio in the courtyard outside was a nice bonus & they were talented. Great staff!

Loved having lunch here! Great menu. I was able to have a delicious burger on gluten free bread along with a very good iced tea. The restaurant is attractive and clean. Many customers of all ages came in for lunch. I'm so glad I found this on Yelp.

Traveling from Kentucky. Looked up spots between Sacramento and Mariposa. Top rated spot was this one! One of the top BLTs I've had. So so good

AMAZING!!!! Two huge burgers, fries, beer, and a giant serving of Mac and cheese for only 65$. This place is a must try. Servers are friendly and food came out very quickly. Everything tastes homemade and I'm definitely coming back again!!

This is the best hamburger in Stockton, hands down! Always hoppin in downtown. Go soon and go often.

Everything was delicious and worth every dollar. The service was great and the staff were very inviting and friendly. The atmosphere is really nice and the music made it a very pleasant experience. I ordered the veggie burger with garlic fries, brussel sprouts, and a new cider. I also tried a new menu option from the restaurant which was like a re-constructed nacho that I really enjoyed. Definitely will return to check out the live music one day and enjoy another tasty meal.

This place is really hidden but is a nice spot that has a good round of beers . If you're looking for a nice spot to chill you should come here. It's around all of the other places in Center square. The service is nice, and it's a cool hole in the wall. Only thing I'm missing is the full bar qualities.

We stopped at this joint while we were at an appointment downtown and learned it was one of my colleague's (Jen's) favorite lunch spots from when she worked in the area! It was a rainy afternoon and the place felt very cozy, with warm, friendly waitstaff and dull chattering of patrons at nearby tables. My boyfriend enjoyed the beer selection while I sipped on a tasty margarita. The charred Brussels sprouts with balsamic drizzle and beer cheese mac were delicious! We treated ourselves to a warm cowboy cookie and brownie for dessert. It was the perfect afternoon pick-me-up and we look forward to visiting again!

It took 35 minutes to receive food burnt black with soggy fries on the side. The cook made this, saw it burnt and it was given to a server anyways who saw it was burnt and still decided to serve it to me and my lady. This blatant lack of effort and customer care is not okay.

It was my first time coming to cast-iron trading, and I enjoyed every bit of it. The servers were so nice and the food was great. I ended up getting the post Valentine's Day special, which was a roasted brussels sprouts with Lardon and a sweet sauce on top (I cannot remember the name of the sauce, but it was similar to a barbecue sauce), and it was delicious! I ended up trying two different hazy IPAs, and they were both tasty and strong. The day I went was a day that they had live music at seven and it was a very chill vibe. Will definitely be back.

On our way to Grass Vally and my copilot was in charge of finding a cool spot to eat. We ended up here, I hadn't been to downtown Stockton in years so I was a little hesitant. But the downtown looks better than I remembered it and this place was totally awesome. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere and vibe were great and the staff was super. I actually came here for a company holiday party.We had the whole place to ourselves with the exception of three employees and the owner. The menu was pre planned with four appetizers and beer on tap. I remember the pizza specifically being exceptional. The owner was extremely personable and his team made you feel like family. 10/10 would reccomend

Came to Stockton and stumbled upon a delicious eatery. I'm not familiar with Stockton but I believe this would be considered downtown area. We walked into Cast Iron and the place was huge. There was lots of places to sit. It's counter service which i really appreciate especially when with a large group. The guy at the counter was nice and very patient as we looked over the menu to order and asked a million questions. The food came out fairly quickly but we were entertained by the wonderful band outside. Once we got our food we were excited to dive in. The portions are HUGE! Very reasonable for the prices and the taste baybees SPOT on! I couldn't stop eating the grilled cheese which was so crispy and flavorful omg the flavors were AMAZING! and fries and the pickles. I hate pickles but they make theirs in house and you can taste the quality. They were a bit short staffed and so we got to meet the owner David as he checked on us regularly throughout the evening. I really like this setting and glad I chose to spend my birthday here. Looking forward to dining here again.

Cast Iron Trading catered our daughter's wedding. It was delicious! Can't wait to eat at their downtown location.

If I could I would give this place a 0, but unfortunately I can't! I came to pick up an order that had been placed 30 minutes before I got there! I arrived and the order was not ready! I been waiting an extra 25 minutes and my order still not ready!!! They handed me an order and someone chased me outside to tell me that it wasn't my order! Yup! I'm still waiting 10 minutes after!!! Wait! I just got handed my order! Let me get out of here before someone starts chasing me

The grill cheese sandwich was very tasty!!! Also their house made ranch/pesto sauce was yummy too! Great selection of craft beers!!! Friendly staff! Definitely will come back again!

I've been eating here for about 5 years now. The food is pretty good but not mind blowing. It's solid overall. I usually get a burger and it's a solid burger. The staff are all great and get a 5/5. They make the place in my opinion.

I ordered the Mac skillet and the cheese burger . I was kinda hesitant that my five year old would approve, but once our food arrived he had no problem eating allllll of it . The ladies that work here are very sweet and helpful and know the menu well . They reopen for dinner time and have live music . Will definitely try again during the evening.

My fiancé and I went to Cast Iron Trading with a couple friends and it was a great time! We missed the live music and happy hour (we got there around 9:30pm). You pay at the counter and then they bring your food to you pretty quickly. The staff was friendly and the food was good but mostly interesting! I got the Brussels sprouts tacos which I recommend. My friends got the loaded tater tots and tacos. They said it was the perfect amount of toppings to taco. We'll have to go again when they have live music!
