Castañedas Mexican Food

What I like about this place is the live music on the weekends! We went in on a busy Saturday evening for dinner (on Mother’s Day to be exact). Maybe it wasn’t the best day to go but I couldn’t help but pass up the opportunity to dine with my kids and enjoy the music. They had a Banda playing inside the restaurant, and we were seated in the outside patio, which we were able to hear the music comfortably. Given that it was a busy night, the food did take longer than usual to get delivered to the table. Overall it was a nice experience and my kids enjoyed their food. Keep in mind they have mariachi on Sunday’s! I would revisit just for the music! We ordered un aguachile rojo, una campechana, a simple carne asada burrito, and a seafood pasta.

I ordered the chilaquiles with asada and a fish taco. Everything was pretty good and reasonably priced. They offer complimentary tortilla chips, and their red chunky salsa is good. I only spent $21.00.

I had such a great experience at this place. The food is delicious and fresh. They have a beautiful bar stocked with very nice offerings. Alex took care of me at the bar (and also tables on the floor at the same time, which I know is a skill) and he gave me spectacular service, with cool suggestions. I liked the music they were playing on the speakers, but he mentioned that there is live music at night. I will be back for one of those nights!

I'm not sure what the bad reviews are about I always have a great experience here. Friendly fast service and fresh ingredients. On the weekends the music is very very loud so be aware if you're planning on conversation over dinner it may not be the right place.

I started this post for the blatant, long brunette hair in my horchata I really was going to overlook. I didn’t ask for a refund nor made a fuss I simply threw it in the bushes but then I opened the California burrito to find no pico so I asked politely for them to add it. The first bite of my burrito I got a piece of plastic. Wow. I’m sure if I go again I’d have a better experience but that’s not going to be for a while. Edit: as I’m eating because I really need to eat lunch it’s lacking flavor.. I won’t be back actually.

It was a surprise ,we love it , from Nayarit Mexico ,the salsa with chips , the menu is really good , the ambience ,it’s looks so beautiful, you need to try the seafood and the service was awesome, even though we arrived very early they were very nice and friendly, not that expensive either, we need to come back… definitely try it … delicious

Great customer service.Great food and a great place to come and enjoy a drag show every wednesday. Also, they have Banda every friday and saturdays.

Food sucked, don't waste your time if your in San Diego ther are waaaay better places to go eat nothing special here at all
