Castaways Cove

I’ve been dining/hanging out at Castaways for almost 2 years now with friends. It’s a great restaurant with amazing drinks and an awesome atmosphere. I’d like to however bring up our experience yesterday, while I’ve never had a problem here, with the food, drinks, or service. Yesterday was definitely a bummer. Having gotten off early we decided to head to our favorite spot to grab drinks before continuing our day. From the moment our server arrived she had already seemed in a bad mood, maybe from us sitting outside, being like the only group there, or just something else entirely. Either way the vibe was NOT the same as it’s been for years. I take complete blame in the fact that I didn’t have my ID with me that day, and understand you’re not supposed to serve without it. Unfortunately I just blanked on bringing it, it was rightfully wrong to assume having come here for a while now it’d be fine but I placed my bets anyways. I had tried showing a different form of identification(also my fault as it’s my older ID) but was still told no, I can’t even be upset with that as it’s literally the law. But it wasn’t the fact that I couldn’t get served, but more so the way the server had acted about the entire situation. From the beginning she had been not the happiest and was short/rude. Overall it made for an awkward situation and not an experience I was expecting in the slightest. Hopefully it was just a bad day/moment and things change. Still leaving 5 stars because I’ve never frequented anywhere as much and don’t feel like one person can represent the amazing atmosphere provided. Highly recommend asking for Momo as she’s never anything but pleasant and upbeat.

Cassidy was so wonderful. Food was very good (on the pricey side, but on par for Breckenridge) and drinks were too. Such a fun slice of the islands in the middle of the mountains.

If you’re heading to Cast Away in Breck, do yourself a favor and ask for Momo! Hands down the best server of all time. From the moment we sat down, Momo made the entire experience feel fun, welcoming, and totally effortless. She’s the perfect mix of friendly, attentive, and genuinely good at what she does. Our food came out fast, our glasses were never empty, and she somehow anticipated what we needed before we even asked. On top of that, she brings such a great energy that you can’t help but enjoy yourself. Cast Away is always a good time, but Momo takes it to another level. If I could give her more than five stars, I would. Highly recommend and huge shoutout to Momo for making our night! 🌟

Oct 2025 First time going to Castaways Cove and found it enjoyable. We prefer a brighter venue and found it hard to see our food because of the low lighting but that is our preference. We both ordered make your own poke and it was fresh and tasty. A bit too much red onion but it was a good size serving and we left full. MoMo was the hightlight. What a delight personality serving us.

Momo and Kevin made this experience exceptional. The food was tasty and the drinks were good and came out so fast! Go for happy hour and try all of the appetizers!

Went in for dinner and 3 of us had poke Bowls. Mine was pretty good, my wife’s was cold and flavorless, my gdaughters was pretty good. The service was good but the atmosphere inside the restaurant was dark and depressing.

Seated right next to the blue river, it was peaceful and relaxing and only added to the absolutely delicious food experience we had. We’ve eaten in Hawaii and this is the best poke bowl we’ve had in the contiguous US. The spam musubi was mind blowing both texture and flavor wise.

One of my favorite places to visit in the area. Off the beaten path and has great service and food. I recommend their Ramen and hamburgers. Also, open for lunch, which is a nice feature when you get hungry in the middle of the day. Parking is reasonable in the lot right in front of the restaurant. Definitely would recommend if you're in the area to check it out for lunch or dinner.

My buddy and I had a blast here at Castaways Cove. We had just finished up our time skiing at Breckenridge Ski Resort and were looking for a place with drinks in the downtown area to close out our trip. Castaways Cove is a laid back eatery that has a fun tiki theme to it. They claim to be the world's highest tiki bar on their website. We sat at the bar and had a fun bartender that served us. There was also a good crowd on hand that night that added to the fun vibe of this place. The drink menu has a nice variety of tiki themed drinks. I am a big Mezcal guy and ordered the Smuggling Nuts. For food, Castaways Cove has poke bowls and island snacks. The spam musubi was amazing. We loved them so much that we ordered a couple more. Overall, Castways Cove was a good time and ended up being a great way to close out our fun trip to Breckenridge.

Located at the Blue River Lodge this tiki bar and the Breckenridge River walk. Nestled right in a corner and lit up to welcome all. There is an entrance inside the hotel down a longer corridor as well. Greets and seated immediately. The decor is fantastically tropical. The servers were so fun and friendly. It may be a tiki bar but this establishment welcomes all ages. Grad for large groups, individuals or couples. We were a party of three, came at happy hour and drank and ate off the amazing HH menu. You can buy the cups too if you like certain ones. The food was so tasty , we all enjoyed the coconut shrimp. The service here is absolutely fantastic. I'll come back here again when in Breck.

Something about a Tiki bar makes me feel at home. Perhaps I was on the HMS Bounty visiting Tahiti in a past life. The mai tai cocktail with a rum floater hit the spot, but chef failed on the "Chicken/Pineapple Fried Rice" Lunch Special. No pineapple. Not a big deal, and for $17.00, I enjoyed the service and atmosphere enough to ignore missing fruit? No, sorry chef, but for a $17.00 bowl of SPECIAL Fried Rice, you'd better try harder. - 1*

Good happy hour with unique food, great service and nice ambiance with outdoor seating along the river. We would like to back and try the bowls and the cheeseburger and Mac salad. Will update after we die.

Awesome tiki bar in downtown Breck! Finding it was a bit tricky as it's slightly off the main strip, so we parked and walked a little bit. But if you park in their parking lot, then there is very little walking required! We sat at the corner of the bar. The bartenders are cool and friendly... and were quick to come over to provide us with menus! They were equally quick to take our orders... which I always appreciate. Cocktails are what it's all about at tiki bars... and Castaways Cove does not disappoint! I ordered the Saturn. It was filled with passion-fruity goodness along with that delicious gin! Sooooo goood! The deviled eggs were wonderful and gluten-free... and highly recommended. But the star of the food show for me was the Spam Musubi! Next time I would probably order it with light teriyaki sauce... mostly because it was so rich and filling, so I wasn't able to eat more while I was sitting there, lol! We ordered 4 dishes out of which 3 were extremely salty- disappointing experience. Service was reasonably quick and server was nice.

Momo, the bartender/server, is the best part of this place. Great vibes, good food, great drinks, excellent service. My book club likes to meet here specifically to be entertained by Momo. She will have you in stitches.

Great Tiki Bar restaurant in Breckenridge, service was excellent, food was great, ambiance was fun. Will go again when in town.

There was only one person working the bar and the whole restaurant and she did a fantastic job taking care of everyone. The tiki themed atmosphere was fun and the outdoor seating along the river is very nice but the Spanish music was sort of an odd choice. The non alcoholic drinks were delicious and the Zombie tasted very strong (they limit you to two!) The food was over sauced, over salted and generally lacking in flavor. We really wanted to like this place but even with the great service and fun atmosphere, we would not come back for the food.

The food was ok not great, prices are what you'd expect for Breck. The service was crappy. I asked for an orange slice for my beer, the waiter forgot, promised to get one again and forgot. I never recv'd it. The waiter never came around to fill our water. Took a while to get the check. Kids meal smelt like my dogs blue buffalo food. So, I'd go elsewhere until they get their &$@" together!!

We went in for drinks & the tiki vibe. Drinks were delicious, fire action was fun, and the bartenders were awesome! We so want to go back to eat sometime because the food sounds amazing!!! It was hard for us to find this place, it's tucked in off the main road. So glad we found it though!

This place was great, from the location, the atmosphere to the staff, food and drinks I cannot think of something I would complain about. For being a small hidden off spot at the bottom of a hotel they really figured out a product that worked. After chatting with our server we were recommended the staff favorite drink called the Jungle Bird and it was amazing. The Mai tai was also delicious, more rum forward than the jungle bird which was great. We split appetizers (pork bao buns and musubi) both of which were great as well as two mains. We were definitely overfed by the time we left but neither of us had complaints. Thanks to Duncan for great conversation and great service, we will definitely be back in the future to this hidden gem!

Lovely lovely place. Right on the stream running through Breckenridge. I chose it for the ambiance, but turned out loving the food too. And the drinks?!?! Saturn 12 was awesome!

the bartender MOMO was amazing!! got a dinner and a show ! she is hilarious. food was also delicious! I recommend the poke bowls and happy hour daquiri was a great price and just the right amount of liquor.

The skinny: Hidden gem with excellent tiki drinks & decent food. My partner and I have recently become a little bit tiki obsessed so we were pumped to find that there was a tiki bar in Brek - and a highly rated one at that. But we didn't want to get our hopes up - we've had some bad luck with finding decent spots in mountain towns. But we pleasantly surprised. First off the drinks were spot on. I was able to get a flight that allowed me to try and little bit of everything - I loved that I was able to do this with cocktails - a rare find. My favorite of the bunch was the saturn. The flight also came with fun descriptions of the drinks and the history. We also ordered a zombie which came with a fun bowl and a perfect mixture of alcohols. Overall really well done. The food. Overall, I wouldn't say the food was anything to die for but it was all solid. We got the coconut shrimp, fries, spam masubi and crab rangoons. The spam was a little too salty for my taste but otherwise everything was good. My favorite was the crab rangoons. Ambiance: This is what makes the place. In a hidden spot in brek we couldn't believe a little bit of an island was tucked away at Castaways cove. It has fun beach tiki vibes and decorations that just put you in a good mood. Worth it just to come down for a fun time. Service: Fast, knowledgeable, and nice - what else could you ask for. Would I come back? Yes! This was the perfect post hike snack and drink spot with great vibes.

We went here for a bachelorette, and the servers were both FANTASTIC. We didn't realize they were closing soon, and when we did they genuinely seemed happy to let us stay longer. The made some really good tasting drinks, and fun things for the bride without anyone asking. There's more I could say, but this was the best service I've ever had at a bar. The servers truly EARNED their tips.

Meh, this used to be our go-to spot in Breckenridge but this last visit is why I'm giving two stars. The drinks are honestly horrible. As other reviews have said the service is also mediocre and the bartenders behind the bar are a complete buzz kill. Save your time and money and support other local Breckenridge businesses down the street.

Justin and Austin are FIRE. Excellent bar. Excellent Tiki selections. Don't limit yourself to the menu they make anything Tiki and do it proper. Wish we lived closer as I would show up at opening and have my wife pick me up at closing time pickled to the fullest! Can't wait to come back.

We had a great time eating lunch here Labor Day weekend. We had our 2 year old, 5 month old and Goldendoodle so we sat outside. It was so pleasant to enjoy lunch next to the creek. The staff gave our dog some water and was so patient and interactive with our toddler. Both the Bloody Mary and the Mai Tai were superb. They have the good ice! The jerk chicken sandwich was perfect. We will be back for sure.

The poke bowl was delicious. I love that you can select your protein, sauce and base, as well as add extras. We will definitely return.

What a fun restaurant! We enjoyed the food, drinks and the groovy setting. Staff was super friendly. The kids enjoyed tiki cups and fancy drinks. The poke bowls were huge and the menu was broad enough for picky eaters.

Their alcohol drinks are awful, however, their food is really good. Also very reasonably priced for the area. We really enjoyed the chicken skewer appetizer, and I wish I would've ordered the hot meal of them. The krab rangoons were also crispy and pretty good and my husband enjoyed the spam and rice "sushi" roll. The poke style bowls were also delicious. I didn't realize the salmon came raw, but it still wound up being phenomenal. The udon noodles were fresh, large portion, and the crispy onions and crispy garlic were a total hit. Overall a good meal at a good value.

Just off Main Street on the river. Lovely place to take a break, sit and people watch, have a fun cocktail and some appetizers.

Awesome hideaway! Drinks are good and strong, well worth the price. Service is quick and the bar holds true to Tiki Vibes. Always like stopping here.

We took our kids for dinner on a Thursday night a week and a half ago for our final night in Breckenridge. There was one guy running the bar and tables and he was on top of it all - great service! The food options were good, even with a couple basic options for our pickier younger kids. The Crab Rangoons and bao buns were great appetizers! We all enjoyed the tropical drinks (non and alcoholic) and the fun different cups each came in. The vibe of the place, great service and fun variety made it a great final night's dinner for all of us.

Just returned from Breck. Had two meals at Castaways. The house soup is unbelievable and the zucchini special is out of this world. Service is attentive and FUN. We also bought the new totally custom tiki mug just to take some of the tiki vibe home.

From food to drinks, this place is it. Food is great. Poke bowls are on point. Spam masubi and mochiko chicken are great snacks. Super creative, delicious cocktails. Try the Smuggling Nuts cocktail. You will not be disappointed. Service is always great.

Very cute and fun tiki bar in Breckenridge. I love tiki bars in general and this was a nice one. The bacon wrapped dates were good and the drinks were tasty and fun. Mine came served in a panda mug!

I have always had a soft spot for Tiki Bars, so was very pleasantly surprised when I discovered one downstairs at the River Mountain Lodge in Breckenridge. All of the staff were amazing, with a special shout out to Mic. The drinks were delicious. It is one block off of main street, so close to everything. My only regret is finding it on our last night!

One of the most fun stops you can make in Breck! The drinks are always strong, delicious, and served in a fun glass. The teriyaki edamame is one of my favorites. For being in Colorado, the poke is very much fresh. The tiki atmosphere is awesome and friendly staff made our trip absolutely memorable.

The Rum is Strong! Justin & team do an amazing job with the drinks, food and service. Truly a hidden gem! If you are in Breck, check it out! Better yet, go out of your way to visit!

This is such a great little hidden gem! I came here for a quick lunch with my mom bc we have been craving poke bowls recently. We started out with the crab rangoons and omg. They were so so good. Probably the best ones i've ever had, you could tell they were fresh. As for the poke bowls, the fish (i had the ahi tuna) was also very fresh, however it was just a little too much furikake for me personally. The service was also amazing. Our waiter was very friendly and talked to us throughout our meal and was very nice. The food also came out very quickly which i love bc i am very impatient lol. Overall, this place was a great experience and I hope i can come back soon.

Nice tiki-bar with a great atmosphere. We had a group of 9 and the crew there were very accommodating. Fun drinks and good poke-bowls. Our group gets together every year at about the same time and we'll probably go back next year.

Amazing staff, amazing drinks, amazing food and happy hour every single day. What more can you ask for? This place is wonderful, highly recommend if you are in the Breckenridge area - just don't plan on driving anywhere afterwards because these drinks slap.

Warm aloha vibes at this high altitude tiki bar that also provides an eclectic menu drawing from all sorts of island and beach locales Bartenders really entertain with a great show and also provide table service which is convenient if you have more folks and would like to sit down with kids and friends It is a bit tucked away and parking is atrocious however this is quite common in this tiny resort area so we took the free bus it wasn't too bad

Wife and I spent a few evenings at castaways while spending the week in breck - had a great time with Momo as our waitress along with great drinks - recommend this place

Super fun environment! The bartender is a blast and the drinks are on spot. Also, worth mentioning it's the highest elevation tiki bar in the world.

The food here was incredible. We got the rangoons, coconut shrimp, and edamame to start. Everything was delicious, with the coconut shrimp being the star! I ordered a bourbon mule and it was perfection. We then got the ahi tuna and shoyu rice bowl which was so good. The ahi was perfect, the portion size was pretty large. The four of us split one bowl! But leftovers would have been fine too! The decor is a tiki vibe, which is a little off but the food was off the charts. Great and friendly service. Highly recommend.

We saw this place as were walking by and saw they had a nice patio near the blue river. It was closed that day so we came back another time for lunch. It is great knowing this is the World's highest tiki bar. The poke bowl we ordered was good with very generously sized portions of fresh tuna. The price was definitely decent than the other restaurants here in Breckenridge. The pork bao came with pulled pork instead of the usual piece of pork bacon slice. It was tasty nonetheless. The fries were not oiley and they hit the spot. The drinks were tasty as well. The server is attentive. Overall, we enjoyed our meal.

A fantastic, down to earth Tiki bar. All the good parts (great drinks, big rum selection, positive vibes) and none of the downside. Worth a stop for a drink, no matter if the weather is nice or not. Great bar!

Awesome outdoor patio along the blue river. The tiki drinks are solid but kind of a limited menu of them. I had the Saturn and Jungle Bird on separate occasions and both were excellent. We had a snack of chicken strips and they were fine. Service can be a little slow but friendly.

Do you want to be on the beach but you're stuck in the snow? Castaways Cove is the place to be. With tiki vibes that would rival the Bahamas and Hawaii, castaways will aloha your feelings into complete joy. Order the monkey-lada for a new twist on a pina colado. Better bring your best Hawaiian shirt to match the vibes here! This place feels like a real cowa-bunga!

So good! Went to Eric's and the wait was ridiculous but the guy recommended this place. Thank goodness! The atmosphere was great, food/drink yummy, service excellent. So glad we stumbled upon Castaways. Will definitely keep it in the rotation!

Outstanding food, ambiance, service and price to value! Massive attention to detail all the way down to the ice. After 10 years coming to Breckenridge tried C Cove on a local recommendation. Definitely will be back and wished they had a location in Boise as it would be a weekly stop!

Good service. Bao Bun not the typical soft chewy consistency. It was more like a bread. Tiki old fashioned was a typical pub grade old fashioned. Glass had a nice double glass bottom.. Just ok, better options in the area.
