There are so many wineries in this area of CA and I have not been to many of them. Having said that, this was a fun stop on our tour of the region. The castle is impressive and reminiscent of those I have toured in Europe. We took the tour and then had a tasting. We experienced several outstanding pours and also had a great pairing of meat, cheese, crackers, olives, and grapes. The gift shop has a fun variety of offerings.

Google
This place exceeded our family friend's expectations in many ways. We had a great tour guide who took us around and inside the castle and the cellars below. We had assumed the wine wouldn't be as good as other places, but again we were wrong. Bruno poured was so amazing. The rest of the red wine lineup we tried was extremely impressive, some of the best wines Well worth the visit and the tasting, you won't regret it. Most phtograpuc place. Inside many old kingdom type places. Torture room. Tunnel, chairs doors and looks like Italian kingdom historic place. Need booking. No. 9 castle in world.

Google
We did the guided tour and tasting with Eli and had a blast! It is a stunning castle, incredible view, and some really interesting facts about this specific castle and Italian castles! Well worth the money, I will be back to bring other friends I know will love it as well!

Google
Awesome winery to visit, our favorite. The castle tour was incredible and the wine tasting was the best around. Our host for the tour and tasting, Natalia, was very helpful, friendly and excited about sharing her love for the castle. This is a must visit. Reservations are required.

Maria was incredibly kind and thoughtful. Her warmth and hospitality made our visit unforgettable. Thank you so much, Maria — five stars, without a doubt!👍 My Son’s Review: Maria was super kind! She said my grandma and I were VIPs, and she really made us feel special. She gave me three extra glasses of yummy juice, and even took us on a fun tour after work. I loved it so much! Thank you, Maria! ❤️☺️

Google
The views and photos opportunities were abundant in this beautiful castle. Spent almost an hour just wandering the castle taking photos. The wine tasting was very enlightening. The sommelier was very insightful catering the wine select to our taste and suggesting similar ones that we would like.

This place exceeded my expectations in many ways. I thought a recreation castle would be cheesy, but it was anything but. We had a great tour guide Bruno who took us around and inside the castle and the cellars below. I had assumed the wine wouldn't be as good as other places, but again I was wrong. I've never liked Chardonnay but the one Bruno poured was so amazing. The rest of the red wine lineup I tried was extremely impressive, some of the best wines I've tried and some styles you don't see a lot around here. Well worth the visit and the tasting, you won't regret it

Google
Castello di Amorosa is a solid 4-star overall experience. On a Saturday afternoon the place was bustling with people - adults and kids alike. The castle and property are beautiful. The tour was enjoyable and the guide was informative. The wine is fine and the tasting experience was enjoyable. It’s overall just overwhelming, feels overproduced, and while “fine” the cost of the overall tour and tasting felt more expensive than it needed to be. I’d highly recommend going on any day other than Saturday for a better experience.

Yelp
The estate of the winery is breathtaking! From the moment the gates open into the property to the castle. The wine is mouthwatering good with full of flavor & you must to a couple of their wine tastings. The one underground, cannot recall the name, was my favorite. The gentleman was full of knowledge & extremely helpful to our entire party. Would have seen a whole lot more of the property if it had not rained. Regardless, it's a still "Go to Place" no matter what the weather is like that day.

Yelp
I'm writing to express our deep frustration with the terrible experience we had during our visit today. Our friend was visiting for the first time and was excited about the trip. After a wine tasting, he decided to purchase some wine and grape juice to be shipped to the East Coast. Unfortunately, the service was a complete disaster. The staff member assisting us seemed completely untrained--she had no idea how to process the checkout or place an order, and she couldn't answer any of our questions. What was even more shocking was that none of the other employees stepped in to help. Everyone seemed more interested in clocking out and going home than in helping customers. After we finally managed to complete the purchase, we waited 30 minutes, only to find out that no one had even prepared our order. To make matters worse, the shipping address was entered incorrectly. Despite not being the last to check out, we were the last ones to leave the winery. Back in 2018, the service was excellent, but now it's clear that something has gone seriously wrong. Either staff training is severely lacking, or this winery no longer cares about its customer service at all. Based on today's experience, we will never return, and next time we'll be visiting other wineries instead. I hope this feedback leads to improvements, but as of now, this was by far one of the worst experiences we've had.

Yelp
First off I would like to just say a special thank you to our amazing server/tour guide Crystian Marin! Wow from beginning to finish, he made the experience that much more memorable. He was very knowledgeable about the history and the wine. He went over and beyond to make our experience the best we ever had coming to Napa. You could tell he was very passionate about his job and about the History behind the castle and the wine. He definitely is management material and I hope they take this into consideration when doing their next promotion. I highly recommend you ask for him when you are coming to visit Amorosa. The architecture of the castle was so detailed and everything from the ground up was epic! This was my boyfriend's very first time in Napa and he told me it was one of the best experiences ever had in his life. And that we would definitely come back in the future. The wine was so smooth and refreshing all the notes you can tell they really take care of their wine and grapes. The views were beautiful, and breathtaking we felt the romance and the power of this incredible place. Also, The charcuterie board was also amazing perfect with pairing with tasting of the wines. When you are in Napa, this is definitely a staple and landmark to visit. It is in the top 10 castles of the world!! We will definitely be returning. Once again, we want to thank you Crystian Marin! You helped us create memories for a lifetime. Make sure you check this place out while in Napa!

Yelp
Excellent! We were helped by S. Elder Stefan I think. He's awesome. Helped us got our standard tasting, with charcuterie add on. He was nice supportive and helped us understand our preferences and what the castle has to offer. Loved the charcuterie board (nearly perfect just need a bit honey). Always liked the dessert wine here : fantasia simpatica, the muscati non alcoholic grape juice!

Yelp
This is such a beautiful winery. I think you definitely need a reservation because the booth prior to even going up the hill to the main entrance has an attendant checking who is on the list. Thankfully we had a tour booked. We made it just in time. The lady gave us a quick rundown then we went around exploring. She dropped lots of gems about the place along with some history lessons. We finally met to do the wine tasting and it was great. I had a few favorites and decided to ship some home. After the tour, we were allotted time to explore the castle more. We wandered higher up for some great views. This was one of my best winery experiences.

Yelp
Castello is beautiful and has amazing architecture and scenery.. but to be honest for the $$$ compared to other wineries in Napa, it wasn't worth it. Wine selection was nice and they were tasted good but nothing outstanding and memorable. It was super busy as well which led to subpar/mediocre service. It was fun exploring the castle though and the surrounding area. I'd suggest checking out other wineries in Napa instead. Probably will get a better bang for your buck. Castello is in Calistoga so it's a further drive than Napa if you're coming from SF.

Yelp
This was at the top of our our list of places to visit while in Napa celebrating our anniversary. It did not disappoint. The owner of this establishment went to painstaking detail to re-create a real castle in California mimicking the real thing in Italy. It has imported stone, wood hardware and other accessories like furniture, fixtures, lighting pretty much everything was imported and hand done to give it the most authentic feel possible. There are tunnels, torture chambers, and other feasts for the eyes in this one of a kind castle! Our tour guide owns his own small vineyard so he had very intimate knowledge of the winemaking process, the way the grapes grow in that particular region and the things that influence the taste of the grapes and what we were tasting in the different varieties of wine. It was a really educational experience. The tasting is done in the lower chambers of the castle where you can also buy your wine and souvenir or wine accessories. The grounds are stunning and the attention to detail is incredible! They do have reservable areas of the castle for private events. I'm sure it would cost a small fortune but would be quite the experience as well!

Yelp
This is a must visit winery when visiting Napa. Make reservations prior to coming here. This is a very popular winery. An Italian castle that has alcohol. Yes please! The tour is very informative and our tour guide had a lovely Italian accent. It was nice to come during harvest- you can see the winery active. The gift shoppe has lots of wine bottles, soaps and candles and etc. The wine tasting was great. They had choices to choose every round ; white; red or sweet. Loved the options. Something for everyone. Depending which wine you choose- they'll tell you the best food options to pair it with. Animals are located at the end of the visit prior to the parking lot. Plenty of parking!

Yelp
Beautiful ambiance. Beautiful castle. Nice wines! Good experience for the family (not including kids lol) We heard about this famous castle winery so we had to make reservations for it since my parents were going to be in town. I made reservations the earliest I could which may have been 1-2 months in advance. I would definitely recommend making reservations because without it, I don't think you can go. We love how dog friendly they are. We didn't see a ton of dogs but we did see a few. We were able to bring the pup with us inside the castle in the wine tasting room. We liked the wine tasting area that was outside b/c it was nice and bright and airy but it was hot so were easily persuaded to go downstairs into the cool air conditioned wine tasting room on the level below. Our wine server was great and eccentric too lol. He gave us more than the 5 wine tastings we had paid for, so that was really nice. I had ordered the cheese and meat platter earlier so we got that and I'm so glad we did b/c you really do need food with wine if you're a light weight or are sensitive to alcohol. We didn't purchase the tour which I'm glad I didn't b/c I was getting sleepy (from the alcohol?) and we did our own personal tour. After the wine tastings, we did a quick tour of the castle, took pictures and headed to our hotel in Santa Rosa. From South Bay, this winery is kinda far but it's worth it. Well any winery is kinda far at least 1.5 to 2 hours from South Bay. Instagram worthy and a memory you can hold for a long time though. There's a gift shop that we got a few goodies from like soap and chocolate and they were great quality. Plenty of parking in the lot.

Yelp
One of my favorite wineries in Napa! Not only is the site beautiful - I mean, it's a castle!!! It can't get cooler than that. Wine is also good. We pre-booked a tasting for 4 and immediately were served at the tasting time. Tasting was done inside castle and had a casual laid back atmosphere. We opted for the red flight and as all red lovers, we liked all the reds in the flight. Nice variety of different flavors, finishes, and aromas. I would definitely come back. I've been to several wineries in Napa and this is one of my favorites.

Yelp
I read a lot of these reviews before coming to the winery, and I was a little afraid of entering a potential tourist trap. That being said, it's a castle, In the middle of Napa valley with gorgeous views from the castle into the valley and a perfect place to get cool pictures. We opted to do a self guided tour, but you can also do a guided tour and get to see more of the castle that way. We had our dog with us, so we opted not to do that, but it's an option! In terms of the actual tasting, Comparing it to other places where I've had more in depth conversations with the wine guides/sommelier, but they still took the time to pick wines for us that they thought my wife and I might like, so I appreciated that. I didn't feel forced to buy anything either which was also appreciated. All in all, probably better wineries/vineyards to visit for actual wine tasting. But, it's a castle, which adds to the ambience and it's a must do at least once. Would recommend going earlier rather than later, as it gets full and really hot in the middle of the summer.

Yelp
This place is beautiful and has amazing architect. The medieval theme of the castle is something you cannot find in another winery. However the amount of people that were in line just to get in was crazy. It felt very commercialized and overrated. They had a wide range of wines that you could choose from but nothing really stood out for me I only like the merlot that wasn't too bad. Our server was very average. Due to the amount of people that were there I think they just wanted people to be in and out. I would say avoid this place unless you are really into the castle/vibe. I would not recommend just because there are soo many better options in the area.
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I did the guided tour where we could walk around the castle. I'm so glad that we chose this option because we were able to see much more of the castle. Irina (our tour guide) was amazing!!! She was very knowledgeable and included each person into the conversation. We completed the wine tasting at the end and she tailored it to what we preferred. I was surprised that I fell in love with two of the wines, as I'm not a huge wine drinker. I mostly went to view the castle. The Fantasia Frizzante-style Rosé was my favorite and I also enjoyed the Harvest Gewurtztraminer Anderson Valley. I am very sad because I am putting the wines away and the staff mixed up our wine. They gave us a bottle of the Pinot Blanco instead of the Rosé. I wish the castle was closer so I could exchange the bottle, but unfortunately it's about a 2 hr drive from me. This is the only reason I am giving the castle a 4 instead of 5 stars. Such an amazing experience overall and I highly recommend a visit.

Joji M.

Yelp
I absolutely loved the experience! The wine tasting was fantastic, but the whole atmosphere was incredible. Our server was super knowledgeable and friendly, making us feel right at home. After sampling the wines and buying a few bottles to take home, we explored the massive castle. It felt like something straight out of Lord of the Rings! They even had goats, chickens, and emus roaming around, which was pretty cool.
google avatar

Charee G.

Yelp
Just okay. If you're looking for an amazing wine experience go elsewhere. Over priced wine tasting for "okay" tasting wine. Don't get me wrong, the castle itself is beautiful and walking through the vineyards is fun. However, this winery was one of our most expensive ones. The tasting samples weren't heavy pours and we didn't love the wine. We took the Calistoga shuttle service and our driver informed us of this is Calistoga's version of Disney. Had to visit just because it's one of the top rated places but definitely better wines, service and experience elsewhere.
google avatar

G K.

Yelp
Honestly, I had very high hopes for this place. The grounds are beautiful and breath taking for sure. But we got the service w the chArcutterie and 5 wines to try. Our waiter was taking entirely too long between wine tastings, estimated 25-40 mins that we only got through 3 wines before asking him to close our tab, and that it was taking too long. The charcuterie we paid 38 for and it was served in a plastic container almost like picnic style, and it was just not presentable for the amount we paid. We are easy going people, and never complain but this was just a disappointment knowing how excited we had been to try. I'd say maybe come and see the grounds but do your wine tasting elsewhere since it is Napa Valley and there are so many places to taste!
google avatar

Gus M.

Yelp
This place is incredible! They have such a nice place to visit, with is sort of a petting zoo, excellent wine to taste, and a beautiful area to visit. They treat you like royalty here. There ones are incredible! Try a wine tasting in this place, they give you good service, and you will not leave disappointed.

Yelp
I visited this winery before it was fully finished, before the parking lot was put in, so it involved a long walk up a steep hill, followed by a drunken stagger down again after wine tasting. It's absolutely beautiful now, really impressive work, well worth the price. Bear in mind there is a sales pitch at the end of the tour so drink accordingly, if you can't hold your booze. Natalia, who gave the tour, was engaging, knowledgeable, and fun. Ask her anything, she'll know the answer. Oh, and the wine is glorious. If it had an area to hang out in at the end of thebtour, where you could buy food and drink it would have got 5 stars. Looking forward to my next visit.

Yelp
Beautiful winery to tour, enjoy tastings, relax with friends to enjoy small bites and purchase high quality wines as they are not available at retailers. My husband and I first experienced the Castle together preCOVID and it was a romantic experience with the wine train included. The most recent visit was spent with my cousin and we enjoyed tasting wines, the tour and purchasing more wine to leave with. When I pickup my club selections, my little one enjoys seeing the "farm" animals on the property and running through the lush green grass. The staff and service is extremely friendly and efficient. The tour guides are knowledgeable and engaging. The wine club memberships are accommodating and provide incredible communication. This is a winery I have returned to time and time again and will continue to do so.
google avatar

Debbie D.

Yelp
If you have trouble walking, please do not take the tour. It's an amazing tour but the steps were almost the death of me. (I screwed up my knee a few days before our trip). However, if you want to really laugh and have fun, get Philly Joe to do your tour. You won't be disappointed. We did the Diamond tour and once my knee recovers, I'd love to do it again. The education and the architecture and history are just all so interesting. Wouldn't mind seeing something about this winery on TV. It's really enriched with all kinds of history! Fun tour for the whole family and for those who don't drink, there's non-alcoholic stuff too. Great tour for anyone coming to Napa!

Yelp
This was my 2nd visit because I loved it when I came a few years ago. And I still enjoyed my visit for the most part and love the beautiful castle and their wines. I took 2 stars off because of our server. I can't remember his name. But he was so judgey the fact that my friend didn't drink wine. She has medical conditions where she can't have alcohol. And she still paid good money for the wine tasting because I really wanted to go. Have no idea why he was making rude, judgey comments. And even for me, he poured random 2 glasses of wine that I didn't ask for. Before i had a chance to tell him I don't like rose or white wine. And when I asked for wines I wanted to taste, he was like oh you don't like pinot? I was gonna have to try that next. It was such a drastic experience from our visit a few years ago. We had a great server back then, who really cared about what we wanted to try. So disappointed with the service we received this time around.

Yelp
Dreamy and majestic castle serving some of the best wines around Napa ! Check in was easy and glad that we made reservations well ahead . It's a bummer that they don't allow glasses of wine or bottles to be opened but I guess that's the norm around a lot of wineries here . The art inside the tasting room was exquisite. We ordered some chocolates to go with the wine and they were really good. Service was great and wine tasting was one of a kind experience . So many good places to take pics and loved the animals in the farm .

Yelp
I visited Castello di Amorosa a few months ago for my birthday, and while the day didn't go as planned, I'm beyond grateful for the incredible experience--thanks to the amazing staff. Unfortunately, I became very ill due to poor planning and the intense heat. I fainted right in the middle of the restaurant, hitting my head on the concrete. It was a frightening experience, but the team at Castello went above and beyond to care for me. Gerardo, my server, was truly an angel. He immediately rushed to help me and, along with the rest of the staff, made sure I was safe and taken care of. They moved me to a shaded room where I could recover and checked on me every five minutes, making sure I had food, hydration, and comfort. I was never left alone, which was especially comforting. Their constant attention and care made all the difference. Gerardo didn't stop there. He personally ensured I had safe transport and made sure I arrived safely at my lodging, which again shows just how far he went to make sure I was okay. His kindness and character left such an impression on me--it was so touching to see how much he cared. I can't even begin to express how grateful I am for his actions. The entire team, from the waitstaff to the hosts, treated me with incredible compassion and care. They even looked after my dog while I was incapacitated, which I'll never forget. What could have been a terrible experience turned into a memory filled with kindness and gratitude. If you're looking for a place with stunning views, great wine, and a staff that genuinely cares about their guests, Castello di Amorosa is the place. A huge thank you to everyone, especially Gerardo, for your incredible service. You went above and beyond, and I will be forever grateful for your help.

Yelp
Tourist love this place. I'm a Sonoma resident and I love it too. We are so lucky to live close to wine country. Castello di Amorosa is the perfect place to visit when you feel like having great views. And nice wine.

Yelp
Castello di Amorosa (the Castle of Love) is a beautiful Napa Valley Tuscan style castle built by fourth generation winemaker Dario Sattui in 1994. You'll find a moat, drawbridge, beautifully painted Italian fresco walls, towers, 4 underground levels, a functioning church, great hall and even a prison with torture chamber. The tastings are some of the finest wines you'll ever taste, reasonably priced and can only be found at Castello di Amorosa or online so stock up on your favorites while there. On site dining is available This was truly one of the best wineries I've visited.

Td I.

Yelp
4th time coming to this winery. However it has been 10yrs since our last visit. This is not the same quaint boutique hotel it once was. They have 100% commercialized it. It is packed shoulder to shoulder with people, and kids (yes they allow kids & also dogs). This is by far the most loudest winery we have ever been to in the US , France & Italy. You can not even carry a conversation with your guest because it's so loud and tasting are in rooms w 100 people. Very sad what ownership has done, my guess is the orginal owner/family/heirs have sold the majority equity to Wall Street Venure Capitalists or an Investment Group given how commerical it is now. The wine itself was OK but not as good as 10 yrs ago nor the other 7 wineries we've been to the last 10 days.

Yelp
Apparently reservations are needed for wine tasting. Luckily, there was still space available. It was $60 per person for wine tasting. The charcuterie box was $35. My favorite wine is the La Fantasia. It is only sold at this winery. I will return to purchase for pick up. Overall, this was a pleasant wine tasting experience. The scenery was breathtaking.
google avatar

Alejandra M.

Yelp
I love visiting this winery, especially during spring/summer time. It's such a beautiful castle, with gorgeous views and backdrops. La fantasía of course is one of their most famous wines, as it is one of my personal favorites. I prefer sweet wines and that one is just perfect. Servers here are always so knowledgeable and entertaining. You must try their chocolates as those are also very delicious and add to the experience. Don't forget to visit their gift shop on the way out!
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
Thought it was overpriced for the amount of wine given and crackers were stale but the winery itself is quite gorgeous. Can be quite noisy indoors. Outdoors is nice, but there are no views. You choose which wines you want. Had a good mix of still and sparkling wines (rose, champagne) if you like less of an alcoholic taste. Great estate. We had the same waiter for the duration of our tasting who was helpful in describing the wines.
google avatar

Sharen H.

Yelp
We made a reservation for 4 pm since they don't accept walk-ins, given their popularity and tendency to fill up quickly (you pay for the entire wine tasting online when you make the reservation). If you don't have reservation, they won't let you in. Upon arrival, they checked us in at the entrance of the castle, and our host escorted us inside. We were seated in an open area with a huge tent covering it. The seating arrangement reminded me a bit of Harry Potter's greenhouse. We opted for the wine tasting without the tour (which included 5 wine tastings), and I must say, they were quite generous with their pours. While their charcuterie board was just okay (not worth the price, I'd say), their drink Fantasia was really good and became our favorite, so we just kept asking for more of that one instead of trying other wines lol. Another unique thing they do is offer grape juice for those who are underage! One thing that bothered me and my partner were the bugs. There were bugs flying around cause of the food which disturbed our wine tasting experience (hence why it's not a 5 star). After finishing the wine tasting, we had the opportunity to explore the castle on our own and take some pictures. It turned out to be smaller than I had anticipated, but it still offers the closest castle experience you'll find in Cali. Additionally, they had a mini barn with unique and cute animals. Although the place is a bit pricey, I would definitely visit again just to do the tour and buy a bottle of that Fantasia which is only sold here at the winery!

Yelp
This was the magical vineyard that we have been into so far in our stay of America. When you look at this castle, you may be puzzled. How can there be castles in America? Historically there is no evidence of castles, but the owner of this vineyard is so fascinated by the castles that he actually got all the material from Europe, and actually invested time to build a castle here just 15-20 years ago . when you go inside, it has an amazing vibe. There are beautiful collection of furniture paintings, and everything that can remind you of a castle. The tour was amazing. The staff was really good. The tasting of wine was spectacular. They have so many good wines you won't go wrong with anything but I would definitely try some desert wines. I became a great fan of it .
google avatar

Jessenia G.

Yelp
Came here for a bachelorette tasting. Cindy was our guide and she was hilarious. I love her sense of humor. Her tour leading skills are impeccable. She was through answering our many questions. The castle is so lovely. It has old world charm and it was the highlight of our weekend. We all wish we could have stayed there longer. Any visit to wine country requires a stop here. The salted chocolate was my absolute favorite. (Not much of a wine gal, but one of the reds was wonderful, but I don't remember the name!)

Yelp
I've been here over 50+ times now and I absolutely love it. The views are gorgeous and the castle is just so beautiful. I also signed up for the monthly wine shipping club so I can enjoy their wines all year long. I just visited a couple of days ago with my family and some cousins who live abroad. They love it here and had a great time. If you want to visit, you have to make an online reservation or you can purchase some of their wine bottles so you can enter. It's absolutely beautiful here. You'll love it.

Yelp
Recently visited Calistoga and reserved a wine tasting and tour of the castle. So glad we did, what a beautiful property! The castle and tunnels are so cool to check out and the surroundings are breathtaking. Wine wasn't my favorite but it's worth it to visit just for the views. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Gorgeous setting, underwhelming experience. The winery itself is stunning, with picturesque views that make for great photos. However, it's clear they prioritize quantity over quality. The tasting room was overcrowded, making it difficult to relax and enjoy the wines. There was no personalized attention, and the staff seemed rushed and disinterested in providing any information about the wines or the history of the winery. To add to the disappointment, they don't allow you to walk around the property with your wine, limiting your ability to explore the beautiful grounds. It felt like a missed opportunity to truly appreciate the experience. If you're looking for a quick tasting and some Instagram-worthy shots, this might be your spot. But for a more intimate and informative wine experience, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

Yelp
Great place to experience European vibe and take bunch of pictures. That was my second time there. Took my mom and my friend there that was their first time. Our sommelier/server forgot his name(Italian young balt guy) was so unprofessional. 1. He sat next to us on 4th chair and talked like we're all together. Later I'd have to point out to take the extra set of glasses out. Cause there'll be three of us only. 2. Started hitting on my friend and invited to "his house" eventually. It would be ok if the basic conversation go well mannered. But he prefered to talk only to my friend who's white and we were Asians. Maybe that was the case..?! 3. Ignored me and my mom for our questions. My mom doesn't speak English and I've tried to explain I wanted to make a good experience of wine tasting for her as a priority. Only later when I demonstratively showed I'm not happy and my friend clearly let him know I'm the one who's paying. He started talking to me. I asked to get extra set of 3 tasting set which was kinda "expensive" type of wines. And he brought all three glasses at the same time from the back. Didn't they suppose to pour them in front of you..? Please correct me if I'm wrong. But I doubt he brought these wines. Cause first,, we're not experts and second he whispered I won't charge you for that. No worries and blinked. Which obviously happened when I was clearly unhappy with his service. And last and not least, on question my mom asked why people kinda shake the glass and look on texture of wine? Can we get some tips? His answer was: "trust me, majority people who does it just pretend they know about wine. You need to study about wine to figure out the quality". I was so embarrassed to translate this answer to my mom. Especially during wine tasting, when we drove almost 3 hours one way to get this experience. On the way back we got some souvenirs I got ~$200-$300 and my friend ~$200 And cashier asked who was your server, I felt sooooo bad by saying his name. I wish I'd left a complain on the spot. But I just quietly said I wish we'd have someone else. Conclusion, the place is great. But it's important who you'd get served by. I'm sure there're some good servers. We just were unlucky.

Yelp
Castello do Amorosa is built in a shape of a castle. We wanted to show the castle to our LO. To our disappointment, the doorman/ bouncer wouldn't let us drive up to the castle. We assured him that, we used to be members at the Castle We also said that we don't plan to wine taste- we just want to drive up next to the castle so that LO can see how an actual European castle looks like. Our request was rudely denied. This was immensely disappointing. I have since unsubscribed from all Castello di Anorosa's communications as I don't wish to hear from an entity that won't let me in the building. Overall, we won't be back.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I had our first wine tasting experience here at Castello di Amorosa. It's an authentically styled 14th century Tuscan castle winery that's been around since the early 2000's. We did the Diamond Estate Tour & Wine Tasting ($75 per person) which included an in-depth tour of the castle and a selection of five wines from their extensive wine menu. This tour was about two hours long and this tier did not include food, so I would highly recommend eating beforehand because all that's offered during the wine tasting are breadsticks. Our wine guide, Stéphane, was extremely knowledgeable, funny, and gave amazing recommendations of wine. We love seeing someone passionate about their job with a great level of enthusiasm. My boyfriend and I aren't wine drinkers but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and discovered a lot of wines we wouldn't normally try on our own but ended up really liking them. If you go with a partner so you two can end up trying 10 different types of wine! ;) The castle itself is gorgeous and it was fun learning about the little quirks it had (like how all the bottle decorations along the wall are actually filled with wine lol) and seeing how this winery prepares their small batches of wine. Also the animal pen outside is so random but cute. There's a variety of animals in the pen (and the occasional chickens that escapes to roam around) including emus lol. If you never been to Napa Valley and want to experience a wine tour, Castello di Amorosa is a gorgeous place to experience it.

Yelp
What a wonderful experience to taste wine at an impressive castle that was only built 1993. The wine collection is equally impressive - Bordeaux style but warmer climate. Luca was very personable, knowledgeable and accommodating. Castle felt like I was transported in an Italy or some medieval home. Very impressive & felt old world.

Yelp
Bummed that you'll never receive your Hogwarts letter or be Daenerys Targaryen? Castello di Amorosa, built in 2007, might not be magical or historic, but it satisfies the urge to luxuriate in a (replica) medieval castle, if just for the day. However, the parking attendant will only allow your car to proceed to the castle's parking lot once you've shown proof of a pre-paid reservation. My group did the Seated Tasting Experience in the courtyard -- $60 for five tastings. I'm not a wine drinker & I especially despise the taste of red wine but the sweeter whites, rose, & sparkling varieties were okay by me. Dolcino, La Fantasia, & Moscato were easy drinkin' so we picked up a few bottles; they're perfect summer beverages for al fresco dining. Included in the price of our ticket is access to the tower which has lovely vineyard views, chapel, Great Hall, & gift shop, spread out across two floors. Areas such as the torture chamber are only accessible to those in a guided tour group. Getting tipsy in a modern-day castle complete with moat & drawbridge -- are we in Napa Valley or Winterfell?

Yelp
Love this place! This review is long overdue, came here with a few good friends and we had the best self guided tour. Also our bar tender was super friendly and inviting and knowledgeable. Great wine with an amazing architecture. I plan to be back soon to celebrate my sister's birthday next month.

Yelp
MAKE SURE TO HAVE AN E-MAIL CONFIRMATION UPON ARRIVAL. Reservation is now required even just to drive up and explore the outdoors of the property. I'd love to leave a review for the wine tasting tour, the ambiance, the service, but they were no longer welcoming enough to accommodate a few non alcohol drinkers in their property so we have been separated from our group. We couldn't book for all of us because of their limited capacity. Despite the intent to pay, the gentleman at the booth very kindly said that they would not let us be with the rest of the group... not even the parking lot close to the castle but certainly at the booth by the road. Such a disappointing treatment from Castello from long fans of this place regardless of our group's willingness to pay for all of us. It used to be a popular spot for those who are in Napa-Calistoga area, but it is NOT a good spot for a large group tour since they are unwilling to accommodate more than 12. The ones who reserved for the wine tasting were able to enter, and they looked like they had a lot of fun! They had smiles on their faces from pictures we saw, and they were probably treated well in there!

Yelp
Beautiful, beautiful, BEAUTIFUL! Castello di Amorosa is a stunning venue. It gives royalty... and or GOT lol. I am an absolute fan! My friend is a member here, which seems to be a great idea if you are living near the area. We had five tastings which were great. I will definitely visit again, if in the area, to get the full experience. It was definitely raining and we were definitely late to our reservation, so didn't get to explore much.

Yelp
Castello di Amorosa was our first of many vineyards we visited that day. Before we got to the best part (the wine) , the castle was quite breathtaking, so naturally we had to stop and take pictures before our tasting. **we had reservations if that helps** Jacob was the host for our table, he had a wonderful personality, which definitely enhanced the experience. He gave a very thorough breakdown on the Wines, and what was appreciated is him mentioning what they are best paired with. If you are not a wine connoisseur like me, I need that type of knowledge to be given to me. My personal favorite was "La Fantasia" It was apart of the sweeter family, but it's not TOO sweet. Think like, a balanced Moscato level of sweet, but better. I was so sold on La Fantasia, that I ended up signing up for them to be shipped next year. Keep in mind, I am not normally a wine drinker (very occasional), so for me to have signed for bottles to be sent to my house, means a great impression was left on me.

Yelp
Castello di Amorosa is a classic winery in Napa Valley, enchanting visitors with its stunning castle that transports you to another era. The dessert wines and sweet selections are nothing short of exceptional, offering a symphony of flavors that linger on the palate. The grape juice is also so unique, sweet and floral so try it if you can. If you like sweet wines please try: - la fantasia - sympatica - il pasito - gewürztraminer The knowledgeable and friendly staff enhance the experience, guiding you through a delightful wine journey. The cheeseboard, adorned with high-quality cheeses and melt-in-your-mouth prosciutto, perfectly complements the wines. For a magical experience, sunset time is unparalleled, casting a warm glow on this picturesque vineyard.

Yelp
We didn't know about The Castle until we arrived in Napa. By then, it was too late to make reservations. Fortunately, we checked ahead of time and found that if we bought 3 bottles of wine, we'd be allowed access to the grounds of the castle. The Castle is very cool! It looks like the setting of a movie and there actually was a Disney movie filmed here. The grounds are beautiful with flowers and plants all over and the mountains in the background. Lots of picture opportunities! While we didn't sample wine there, we did pop open a bottle of Pinot Noir back at our place that night. Excellent!

Yelp
Mixed feelings! The castle itself is absolutely beautiful and the wine is soooo good. We enjoyed walking around the grounds after our tour and seeing all the animals and taking lots of pictures! You can really see the hard work that the owner put into the castle. Cons: - we paid $$$ for the wine & charcuterie tasting tour and it felt so rushed and not worth it. Would've rather paid for the cheapest one and probs got the same experience minus cheese, meats, and tunnels. - our tour guide kept trying to make us sign up for the club membership.. gave off "timeshare" vibes throughout the entire tour -TOO many tours going on at once. We'd be crowded in the tunnels -moved waaaay too fast and gave little history of the winery or making of wines -the tasting area was SO crowded. You couldn't even hear the tour guide explain the wines or pairings. I didn't know what was going on most of the time. Tight seating too. I've gone to other wine tastings in Spain and Italy and they were so much better. Not worth the expensive tour.

Yelp
Can't beat a winery visit like Castello di Amorosa. Exploring a restored 14th century Italian castle followed by a wine tasting in the dungeons! We went for the wine tasting experience that included a few reserve Cabernet Sauvignons. Joined the wine club after, and still enjoy bottles coming in from the castle a few times each year.
