Castello Malaspina

An absolutely stunning place! The views are breathtaking. I especially loved that you’re free to wander almost anywhere in the castle. The rooms are beautifully designed — clean, comfortable, and full of character. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming.

My family recently stayed here for a night. The castle was amazing. We enjoyed walking around and exploring all the various rooms and admiring the views from the various outside areas. Breakfast was great as well! I did experience a few creepy things. One of the doors downstairs opened up in front of my son and I. Also saw two bright pink flashes of light in my bedroom after the bedroom door opened on it's own. Would definitely love to come back and spend more time here.

Fantastic place! Only minus for some people could be that it's not very accessible (being a medieval castle and all). Really nice staff, marvelous views, rooms and breakfast.

We really enjoyed touring the castle. Our guide was great with the kids and we received a pamphlet in English (because the tour was in Italian).

This is a dream place to stay. The castle is absolutely amazing, the staff is great, the breakfast is superb. A unique opportunity to explore and sleep in an ancient caste, which is in great shape, with a lot of history.

A beautiful castle in the Tuscany mountains. Friendly staff, epic views and lovely food. Looking forward to returning next year.

Our experience at Castello Malaspina di Fosdinovo was absolutely fantastic, we honestly didn’t want to leave! We felt like royalty; it was such a magical and unforgettable stay. If you're planning a trip, we genuinely recommend skipping a day in Rome or Florence to come here instead. Roaming the castle at night was surreal at times a little spooky, but in the best way! Everything felt so authentic. Breakfast was delicious, served in a beautiful sunlit room that felt like a dream. The staff were incredibly hospitable and kind; you can tell how much they care about the guests and how hard they work. We also requested an aperitivo, and it was amazing it sit and watch the sunset on this beautiful outdoor terrace with delicious wine, cheeses, salmon, and homemade breads. Claudia was so kind and is an incredible cook! We truly had the best time and can’t wait to come back! Ciao!

An absolutely fantastic and magical experience — it truly felt like a fairytale! We stayed here for three nights, and everything was perfect. The breakfast was the same each morning, but always fresh and delicious. And most importantly, the ladies who work here are incredibly warm, welcoming, and open-hearted — I already miss them! They even helped me organize a small surprise for my fiancée’s birthday, which made our stay even more special.

By far this is the best Castle/hotel I ever stayed. I had so much fun. This castle is hunted. Didn't see any ghosts, but it was fine by me. The views are amazing. The staff is amazing, professional, and very friendly. The whole experience of staying in a hunted castle was unbelievably amazing. I recommend this place 100% Thank you so much.
