The only thing that’s worth it here is the beer after the narrows and relaxing on the grass nearby. Everything else was average. It’s really busy as they have a location where everyone passes going back down to the hotels. You’d think they would offer better food and expand or higher more employees as the place is packed!

Such a lovely spot! My boyfriend and I visited at the end of November. We kept it simple with two bagels and two coffees, which we enjoyed outside. It was a bit chilly, but with the breathtaking view, everything felt warm and perfect. Delicious food, great coffee, and an unbeatable atmosphere—what more could you ask for?

Inside the park, Zion shuttle stop 5. We bought a slice of pizza and drink after a hike. The worst pizza that we had for the year.

Had a delicious grilled chicken salad -- very fresh and refreshing after a long hike. Also had the chocolate chip, peanut butter and oatmeal raisin cookies ... yummy treats! The staff were very helpful and friendly.

I have enough experience with food offerings in national parks and know not to expect more than low to mid grade cafeteria food except for a very few exceptions. That being said, this was a great little spot for a post hike refreshing pint of micro brew from their very limited selection. I didn't and wouldn't eat there, but to sit, and have a pint, it's just fine!

I ordered a coffee for $3 and it was cold and came with black floaties. I’m assuming these were grounds but it was gross nonetheless. It also was far from filled to the top. Would not recommend this cafe.

Google
Whilst inside the park, meal options are limited, so don’t expect anything quality. If you have the time and plan ahead, it would be better to bring your own food. Otherwise, you’ll be stuck with overpriced cheap fast food. My black bean burger was edible, but at the end of the day, it was a highly processed patty that they stuck in the deep fryer.

Google
Overpriced food, bland taste, but hey - more cost effective than the other grill. Also, only option if you did not pack. If they can improve the food then the price would be reasonable. So if you can pack, better alternative.

Yelp
Came in clutch being open in the middle of Zion National Park. Really saved us time of having to leave the park for lunch. Hindsight, should've packed a lunch but we didn't think ahead. The menu is simple but that's ok. The trio chips and dip- the queso and salsa was fine. Salsa was warm but it's that roasted type of salsa so that didn't bother us. However, the guacamole needed some more salt and a squeeze of lime or orange juice. Luckily there's salt on the table. The turkey sandwich was nice to have after hiking all morning/afternoon. Husband liked his beer. Definitely a great place to check out if you need a break from hiking, refuel, and potty break. The views are stunning. There's also a gift shop to explore.

Yelp
I honestly don't know why the reviews are so low. When inside Zion national park, this is the only viable food option meaning if they wanted to, they could upcharge like crazy for 3 leaves and call it salad and people would have to buy it. Instead, they have a quick and relatively affordable cafeteria food. It's not gourmet but for the price it'll do and it doesn't taste horrible. I think we were just grateful for the giant grass area where multiple families were eating, napping, and kids could run around after a long hot day hiking. The French fries were good. Cheeseburger was decent. Pizza tasted like the frozen kind. All three cookies were great. Salad was pretty good. All for around $30. Once again, if you're looking for gourmet then leave the park. But for a restful stop while you're inside and a place to get nourishment and easy eats, this is great. I was grateful my one year old could run around the grass while the husband got food.

Yelp
I love their latte I love the service here I don't understand why they have so many low ratings I did not expect too much when I walk in Cuz it's a park cafe But when I taste the latte I just love it so much they even help me add a little hazelnut flavor in it Made my day! The vibe in the front was lovely

Yelp
All of the food is over priced, everything is the type of food you would purchase premade at the store and warm up and serve. The pizza tasted like frozen pizza you just bake. They were out most of the food items we wanted. Definitely not a great stop, but you really don't have any other choices inside of the park so either can bring something or go here or leave the park.

Yelp
Took a break and had brunch here after early morning hike at Emerald Pools. Very reasonable priced breakfast buffet - similar to any hotel hot buffet, thou good jam puree, gravy and appreciate the fresh fruit. Conveniently located in the park at a shuttle stop. Was not very busy, seated quickly.

Yelp
This Castledome Cafe must be a goldmine for the feds. The was a line out the door, and more customers coming. The menu was fairly interesting, but mostly just sandwhiches. My order was the Tuna Salad Sandwich (oddly priced at $8.02) and Combo with chips ($4.50), which was a bag of chips and a soft drink. Leave it to the feds to make it complicated. The meal totalled $12.52. An outdoor dining area was provided, many tables were provided shade, many weren't. The sandwich was good, if sloppily assembled. The chips were bagged Stacey's Pita Chips. There's just no other place to eat, so they will always have good business here.

Yelp
Very cheap yet very good food! A great (dare I say amazing) spot to stop off at when In zion. This place is cheaper than the walk up on the other side of the building. Wait staff is very nice and really want you to enjoy your meal. To that I say SLAY QUEEN GO OFF NATURE!!!!

Yelp
best service and food ever. i love this place and will make the trip to zion from my home base of Ketchikan, alaska just for the food of the castle dome cafe at least twice a month. the domeburger is possibly the most delicious nectar of the gods i have ever consumed, whoever is making these burgers needs a massive raise. the glizzys are great too! the cashier jeff, from michigan, saved my life by giving me cpr when i accidentally choked on my delectable domeburger. he made sure to give me the piece of the domeburger i coughed up back so that i could savor every last bite I will recommend this cafe to everyone i meet, for the rest of my life.

Yelp
Poor! Poor! Not too many food options inside Zion national park. Either you eat here or go to red rock grill. Some people just grab a bite here. Burger, salad and pizza- none of them impressed us. Also, the quality and quantity is questionable. We had to goo it of the park to satisfy our hunger. After a long day of hike, this was very disappointing.

Yelp
This is the open patio area next to the Zion Lodge, a short walk from the Zion Park Shuttle Stop. Unless you're at the Zion Lodge, this is probably the only place to grab a bite (or beer!) if you're inside the park. Its basically cafeteria-style here. I ordered a cheeseburger and it was definitely on the dry side. My wife's grilled chicken sandwich was sawdust-dry, but had a tiny semblance of flavor. The fresh fruit cup wasn't all that fresh either - only grapes and pineapples seemed sweet, while honeydew chunks hard some tartness. I wonder if they squeezed some lemon juice prior to packaging in a attempt to extend shelf life. Probably not the best place to enjoy a satisfying lunch or snack, but good enough if you are desperate and just want something to replenish yourself with. It is probably OK to grab a beer on the outside patio and then proceed to the easier Emerald Pools Trail hike (3 miles round trip) across the road.

Yelp
Would give this place negative stars if I could. Do NOT eat or spend your money here. My boyfriend and I stopped here after a long day of hiking in the park, excited to have a real meal and a beer outside. We each got a burger and split some fries. About halfway through eating my burger, I noticed a soapy/perfumey taste in my mouth. I was literally so hungry I just ignored it. However, after finishing the burger I felt what I thought was a piece of plastic in my mouth and turned out to be a fingernail clipping, which explains where the soap taste came from. I couldn't believe it and immediately felt sick to my stomach. I went to check other reviews here and based on those, I wasn't surprised. Even without the fingernail the burger and fries were cold and rubbery. I wished we had checked the Yelp reviews before stopping here and just grabbed a beer. You're better off going into town and sitting on a patio for basically the same views and better food. As someone else mentioned, this is sadly what happens when Xanterra has a monopoly on National Park resorts.

Yelp
It's like going to the airport or an amusement park cafe, overpriced with minimal options. That being said, the food was actually pretty decent and came out fast for it being a busy weekend afternoon. If you go outside there is a "beer garden" that offers 3-4 beers on tap. $7.25 for a cup but it was really good and local. There are shaded tables and a grassy area under a tree to relax and eat on. It was a nice break after a long hike and day of over 100 degree heat

Yelp
Worst cheeseburger we ever had! They are made up by the hundreds (according to the employee behind the cash register) and kept warm to sell. Expensive, cold and flavorless!!

Yelp
The only place within Zion National Park along the Scenic Drive where you can get a quick eat. 1pm, temperatures in the low 80s, and it's only late April. I'm ready to eat a horse, after doing 4 hours of hiking up and back off the death defying Angels' Landing hike. I get off the free Park shuttle and walk a few steps besides the outdoor café, with tables, chairs and sun umbrellas outside of the main building. Inside there are two lines. One line is for chips, ice cream, and snacks, and the other line is for sandwiches and food that requires cooking: pizza, hamburgers, and hot dogs. Only 3 people in the second line, but one lady orders enough for the octomom, and with a lot of conditions, as if her children require the utmost care in their pizza, and are allergic to this and that -no onions, gluten free, etc. Takes 10 minutes for her to order, oblivious to the starving folks behind her. I get the chicken sandwich, and it takes them 5 minutes for the order to arrive. The chicken sandwich is pre-made, wrapped just like you see in the super markets, but can't get at the gift shop next to registration -where you can get sundries, and other refrigerated items. Why does it take 5 minutes to get a pre-wrapped sandwich? To give the impression that they hand made it, so that they can overcharge you the $6. Remember Springdale is just 5 miles away, with all it's restaurants. It's not like you are out in the boonies. Hurricane is 28 miles away. They should just put the sandwiches in the line for food that requires no cooking. Very ordinary chicken sandwich, not even up to Subway standards, and not as large as a 6" Subway, but costing more, even though it's only chicken and bread -no extras. Next time, I come back from a hike, and the tour bus has just dumped two dozen people in the line for hot food. There's no way I'm waiting in that line, and go over and get in the other line for food that requires no cooking. I get a giant pre-packaged Orville Reddenbacker blueberry muffin for $4. Great muffin but way overpriced. Xanterra has a monopoly on all concessions in the Park. Another example of what happens when there is no outside competition. Another poor value. The café opens early for breakfast, and closes at 5pm -the same time that the Red Rock Grill opens for dinner -don't want to underprice the competition! Late one evening, after dinner, but still daylight we hear a commotion, and head over to the Café. A wild turkey is pecking vigorously on the locked glass door to the café, apparently reacting adversely to its reflection in the window. Or it could be that the turkey wanted in to the café? Nobody told the turkey that they don't serve turkey sandwiches at this place! Deliveries are in the back for this place with turkey service and value!

Yelp
It was food......we were hungry. We get it; it's in a park with hugely difficult parking, accessibility etc but this is just mediocre fast food that McDonalds do way better. 2 stars as service was quick given queues otherwise a 1 star for food. Do yourself a huge favor; stop, have a beer, enjoy the views of hikers and bikers and bring a packed lunch.

Yelp
Walked in and was immediately greeted by the employees! Was so happy to talk to my very helpful cashier Jeffrey Franco Kennedy, we talked briefly about hikes that are the best, and the most worth it. he told me the absolute hands-down best hike in zion is the lower emerald pools trail, which is true. I was so impressed with the food that I not only got breakfast, but also lunch. During both times I couldn't help and notice how good the music is, props to whoever was on aux, pretty sure it was some Kendrick Lamar who I love! The food both times was probably the most fresh, most delicious food I have ever eaten, comparable to a 5 star restaurant in the Vegas area. I highly recommend this place when visiting Zion National Park!

Yelp
My salad came frozen and wilted, I gladly gave it to the wasps who were landing on my food constantly.

Yelp
Grabbed ice cream after a long day hiking. It's soft serve only. Only 1 size - huge! I really wished they offered a small. Though to be fair $3.75 is reasonable for the size cone offered. The cafe also offers cafeteria style coffee, breakfast and lunch options. The prices seemed a bit higher for the food options. But not exorbitant There is also an outdoor bar. The lines were confusing. You wait in line and order at the grill area, then you go over and wait in the ice cream line - hand them your receipt to show them what you ordered.

Yelp
My family and I weren't impressed with the quality of food at the cafe. We did a 4 mile hike in Zion National Park and was very hungry, so we stopped by this cafe. I must appreciate the fact that the cafe is even there to start with to provide food and with a great open grass area to eat. The food was pretty bad. The fries had so much oil and wasn't even cooked inside. I tasted hard potato when I ate it. Same goes for the pretzel which was hard and flavorless. I would only recommend this cafe to hikers/people coming back and looking for beverages or coffee. The fountain drink was refillable and the coffee was hot and good. Wonderful View!

Yelp
Stopped by to get lunch after hiking Angels Landing. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich thinking it would come on toast but it was made with burger buns. The sandwich was alright but I would probably get a burger next time. The best part of my meal was the fries and the beer.

Yelp
Good place to grab a meal or snack. Had a slice of pepperoni pizza, french fries, and a bbq pork sandwich and paid a total of $13.25. Later on bought a mango smoothie and a chocolate/ vanilla soft serve ice cream for a total of $7.75. We've enjoyed the couple of times that we've been here. The food is not bad, and the prices are fair.

Yelp
The food is extremely expensive for the amount and the quality you get. I guess this is to be expected since it's a national park but it's still a little ridiculous. One staff member was particularly unfriendly. My wife ordered a salad but we didn't get a fork, I went back to ask for one and was given a lot of attitude for a seemingly simple request. They were also out of ice cream and chicken which sadly was what we wanted. The guy taking our order on the patio computer however was funny and friendly.

Yelp
When staying a the Lodge in Zion National Park, we thought that we would save money by coming here for breakfast rather than eating in the lovely restaurant upstairs. The selection was sparse, and the prices were high. We ate outside surrounded by bees. It was not a pleasant experience. Both afternoons we came here for ice cream, and while the line was long it moved fairly quickly. One day the ice cream machine was not working well so it was a little runny. Not good on a hot July day! There is a lot of room for improvement in this eating establishment.

Yelp
This place gets the job done. It reminds me of a ski lodge where the offerings are limited and not that great. Yet, because yo are so hungry, it hits the spot and satisfies like no other. There is also an icecream shop here and plenty of outdoor seating. The outdoor area also has a beer garden.
google avatar

Roger L.

Yelp
Good enough without feeling like you got ripped off as the only casual place to eat in a national park. We got: 1. Slice of 4 cheese pizza: Was actually better than average cafe pizza. Crust was crispy and the cheese was infused with the crust well. 2. Cheese burger combo(fountain drink and bag of Doritos): Hamburger was good. Condiments were fresh(lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles). Fountain drink was great as refills were needed on a hot day.

Parham P.

Yelp
Worst burger ever. Not proberly grilled. We also ordered Grilled chicken. It was totally waste of money.

Ellie P.

Yelp
The food here is typical of National Park fast food: pricey and bad. That's unfortunate, but not unexpected. The bigger problem here is the attitude of the staff and the lack of hygiene. The people acted like zombies in a local fast food dump. There was trash overflowing from the cans and the soda fountain was disgusting. That's about it. Zion National Park is a sad example of Americana for the foreign visitors. Others are much better and I only hope they get better management here and that the visitors get to see others that are better run.

Yelp
After a day of hiking you might think this is a good place to stop in for some grub. Skip the burger, as I didnt even bother finishing mine. The fries were yummy though. No ice cream the day we were there which was a bummer cause I was excited for it.

Yelp
We waited a couple of minutes for the "chef" to prepare our Chicken Salad Sandwich. It looked and tasted exactly like the ones from the supermarket, I am convinced the chef is a prop to make you think they actually prepared the sandwich when all she did was grab it pre-packed, stand around and pretend to make it, and voila! That'll be $6 thank you! It didn't taste delightful, but we ate it all nonetheless.

Yelp
Just FYI, this place is NOT in Hurricane, it's in Springdale, a good 20 min or so drive NE of Hurricane.

David G.

Yelp
They seem to lack systems. Huge line at lunch hour. Employee 's lunch seems to take precedence over serving customers.

David A.

Yelp
After a long, hot day of hiking, we stopped here for lunch. Basically pre-wrapped sandwiches were the fare, served up by a staff that looked like they wanted to be anywhere but there. Not much to choose from, but for such a landmark tourist attraction, they really need to raise the bar. Contrast with the Bryce Canyon Lodge, which was a superb place for a relatively inexpensive lunch.

Anonymous U.

Yelp
Serves amusement park style weak coffee from a mix and egg sandwiches with processed cheese. Apparently the espresso bar is better, but it opens at 11 am so this and the sit down restaurant are the only breakfast/morning coffee options for lodge guests.

Eli L.

Yelp
grilled chicken sandwich, $8, plain af. probably costs $2 in materials. unfortunately we have to deal with it given it's one of the only sources of food around here. and they know that. smh.
