Castle Farm, Midford - Review - Midford - Bath - The Infatuation

"Let’s get one thing out of the way: Castle Farm is not in Bath. It’s in Midford. But it’s just a 10-minute drive away, and it’s worth seeking out this barn hidden on a working farm for its excellent curries." - Sinéad Cranna

This was a phenomenal dining experience. Not for the glitz and glam but for the authentic, genuine feel that the people behind this put into it. By booking for a particular time slot, it makes you almost feel like royalty when you come in and are brought out a banquet of food. It’s great value for real quality food. The atmosphere is lovely, they don’t pack it full but it feels like a warm gathering. The setting has a lot of charm to it. The food is utterly fantastic and I would go back in a heartbeat. It’s all the great parts of a roast that you’d want. TLDR: best roast in Bath (maybe further?)

I had to book weeks in advance for Sunday dinner here but I had heard very good reviews. I had the veggie roast and my friend had the 3 meats. The portions were extremely generous. The veggie option was not a nut roast; a carrot and chickpea dish which was very tasty. The yorkie was delicious as was the buttered kale. A lovely damson and plum cordial to drink too. We shared a crumble for pudding as we were v stuffed. Beautifully cooked, but I have given it four stars on the food just because the dishes were perhaps a little over fussy for me, with each dish covered with nuts or seeds. Would definitely return though. Waiting staff were excellent and very attentive.

I have had this place saved on my list for while now. We booked a table for Sunday roast dinner. We were able to get a table within a months notice. We booked the table for 12pm and were welcomed at the wonderful barn/restaurant. Very quaint little place. We were seated at the top which was wonderful with view of the restaurant and kitchen. Fans were on which was nice. We ordered the sharing roast. Once all the dishes started to come out you could smell how good it would all taste. All the meat especially the beef, veggies and all side dishes were delightful. The Cauliflower cheese was very very tasty. We loved every dish and are so pleased we visited. I booked a table again as soon as we ate. Can't wait to visit again! Best place for a roast dinner and lovely staff.

Possibly the best Sunday roast we've ever had, matched with fantastic desserts and a very creative drinks selection. The atmosphere on a warm summer evening, along with the great service, were the cherry on top. Fantastic value too at only £35 per person with drinks and dessert.

The family style sharing roast here is next level. Quite possibly one of the best roasts we’ve ever eaten at a restaurant/pub! The sticky toffee pudding was also huge + lots of sauce. 10/10 Lovely staff and dog friendly

Heard a lot about this place so was excited to finally go... And it didn't disappoint. Food was amazing, staff were lovely and attentive and the setting is unique. As others have said this is the best roast I've had to date! Can't wait to come back.

We visited Castle Farm for Sunday lunch for the second time and it was fantastic again! The food was plentiful, delicious, and perfect for sharing, and the team were so friendly. The sticky toffee pudding was honestly the best I’ve ever tasted! We’re already eyeing up one of their curry nights or Malaysian brunches, as we’ve heard amazing things. An absolute must try!!!

A Sunday Roast Like No Other – Simply Perfect! My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of experiencing the Sunday roast at Castle Farm Midford, and I can confidently say it was the best roast we’ve ever had! The setting itself is incredibly charming – a beautiful barn with a cozy, rustic feel that immediately makes you feel at home. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a relaxed countryside vibe that adds to the magic of the experience. Now, the food – simply mind-blowing! Every element of the roast was cooked to perfection: tender, flavorful meat, crispy-yet-fluffy roast potatoes, vibrant seasonal vegetables, and the richest, most delicious gravy tying it all together. You can tell that everything is made with the highest quality ingredients and a lot of love. The service was equally wonderful – friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. It truly felt like a special dining experience, one that we won’t forget anytime soon. If you're looking for a Sunday roast that sets the standard, in a stunning countryside setting, this is the place to be. We will most certainly be back!
