“Castle View” Restaurant

Best food we’ve had in Albania! Stopped on our way from Blue Eye and was greeted by the loveliest lady outside. We asked for her recommendations so went for the stuffed eggplant and mixed plate which were a perfect taste of traditional Albanian food cooked by her grandmother. My husband doesn’t even usually like eggplant but he was mopping up the juices with the beautiful bread. Hoping to make a detour here again before we go home. View wasn’t bad either!

We arrived here in the evening after a very long drive. The hospitality and the atmosphere were 10/10 and the food was amazing. We tried the traditional mix, stuffed peppers and eggplants, everything was very delicious. Thank you for the lovely experience!

A small and cozy restaurant "Castle View" with a stunning view of the ancient Gjirokastër Castle. 🏰 They serve delicious traditional Albanian food, and the best choice is the platters (sets), meat and vegetable, that give you a real taste of the local cuisine. Very affordable, tasty, and the staff are extremely friendly. The location is perfect – you can enjoy your meal while admiring one of the best views of the castle. 🏰🫶✨️

I think we had our best meal in Albania here. The service was the best part, our waitress was extremely kind and her recommendations were great. Amazing food and the view of the castle is the cherry on top. The have vegetarian and gluten free options too. 10/10 would recommend.

The best place i Gjirokaster. Calm, great food all make by crops from the owners for ex. the delicius signature salat with nuts, rasins etc. Great view and always a nice breeze!! Young and sweet Maria speeks english and greek. We went there for dinner, lunch and just a coffee reading a book.

Castle View Restaurant was our favourite spot of our entire trip to Albania. The traditional food was so delicious and homemade and the family that runs the restaurant was extremely friendly and hospitable! We really enjoyed the meat mix platter and traditional mix as well. We highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting Gjirokastra!

Fabulous from breakfast to dinner. The restaraunt is run by a local family. Food is traditional, clean and made with local Ingredients. The customer service was very hospitable. They go our of their way. This is a gem. The views were beautiful - we came in the day and then later to see the sunset while we dined. They will let you park in a special spot if you need to. Probably the best meals I have had in Albania and this is my second vacation here.

Such a lovely family-run restaurant with a beautiful view! The people were incredibly kind and friendly, making us feel truly welcome. The food was delicious – especially the tzatziki sauce, which tasted fresh and homemade, clearly made with local ingredients. After our meal, they surprised us with some watermelon – and later even brought us cake! Wow, just unbelievable. A truly heartwarming experience!
