The best pastel de nata for me. Not too sweet! It has a perfecf crust! And what’s even more amazing is that they have outdoor sitting just in front of the Elevador de Santa Justa where you can enjoy your pastel de nata.

I have never had a pastel de nata this good!! They melt in your mouth. Stumbled on this place on my first day in Lisbon and then came back every day to get more of the goodness 🤤 I have tried other places too, but the delicate balance of creamy custard inside and slight crisp on the outside was the best here.

castro is my favorite nata shop! i love how their natas are warm and you can sprinkle as many cinnamon powder as you want on top! thin flaky crust, smooth eggy custard, the size is just right. friendly service too! i like this shop in particular because you get to do some people watching while enjoying the nata.

Crispy crust with sweet custard just like other brands except here at Castro, it’s slightly more expensive at €1.60 per piece. There’s seating area where you can people watching in front of Santa Justa lift. Also the staff was kind enough to give me an ice cold water when I asked.

Castro is a must-visit for anyone in Lisbon. Their pastéis de nata are among the best in the city — perfectly crisp pastry with a creamy, rich custard. What truly surprised us was the coffee — easily some of the best we had in Lisbon. Excellent quality, great balance, and the perfect pairing with their pastries. We went back more than once and would happily return again.

If you want to just pass and grab pasteis de nata, it’s a great place as the pasteis are really good! If you want to sit for coffee, however, it’s important to know that the waiters don’t clean tables, so you have to clean them yourself. You also have to bring the coffee from the bar yourself, and they don’t know how to make cappuccino properly. When you ask for help with anything, the service can be quite rude.

Hands down the BEST pastel de nata in this area. I went to Natelier, Manteigaria, and Fabrica da Nata, but Castro has the best one. It is very crispy and flaky with an excellently balanced filling. It is the most expensive at 1.70, but worth it. Head to head, it rivals Pasteis de Belem if you don’t want to make the trek to Belem or wait in a long line. I honestly won’t be surprised when Castro becomes THE pastel de nata place. Get it before it gets hyped up and a long queue forms!
