Castro Hotel Syros (Syros, Greek Islands) 2 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"By Cycladic standards the island of Syros flies a little bit under the radar, at least from the perspective of tourism. But that’s certainly no obstacle for an inventive boutique hotelier. The Castro Hotel Syros, in the capital city of Ermoupolis, contains only seven rooms and two suites, after all; it only takes about a dozen guests to make it feel like the hippest little hotel in the Mediterranean." - Tablet Hotels

Great hotel, the true definition of a boutique hotel. Less than ten rooms, great sized rooms and beautiful decor. Rooms are fitted with good sized bathrooms and the whole property has beautiful high ceilings with intricate details. Staff were lovely and welcoming, always said hello to us. Breakfast was also very good, much better than the typical Greek standard breakfast you get in hotels across the islands. Would love to stay again!

We had a truly wonderful experience during our stay at Castro Hotel Syros. The room was spotless, stylish, and very comfortable, providing the perfect base for exploring the island.|What really stood out was the hospitality of the staff — they were extremely friendly, helpful, and always available to provide directions, local tips, and anything else we needed. Their warm and welcoming attitude made us feel right at home.|There was also the option of a complimentary 30-minute massage, which added a thoughtful and relaxing touch to the overall experience.|The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the town, making it easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and the port, while still offering a quiet and relaxing atmosphere.|We would definitely recommend this hotel and would be happy to return in the future!

Staff: Receptionists— Carolina, Ellen and Maria Breakfast —Aphrodite. Were all absolutely wonderful. Warm greeting from Receptionist—Carolina who took us to our room and brought an iron and ironing board to us upon checkin. Welcome lemon drink with Syros loukoumi (Greek delight) delicious. All the luxuries you expect from a 5 star hotel, but don’t always get, ie face washers, slippers and bath robes! Town, restaurants, shops, rock pool, waterfront all very close by (walking distance). Breakfast was out of this world! Room was fabulous with a modern designer bathroom. Highly recommend this hotel. Could not fault it or it’s amazing staff. EXCEPTIONAL.

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights in May at the Castro Prestige Suite and enjoyed ourselves greatly. The room was excellent, with a fast-filling tub (we can never stand those that take forever to fill up). Service was also warm and helpful, with a great breakfast! The hotel is very conveniently located in town. It is just 10 mins walk from the port. In fact you can walk to most parts of Ermoupoli from the hotel, and the reception does a good job of calling taxis for you even if you're in another part of Syros. We hope to be back next year!

Lovely stay here. Ermopouli is a great place to visit. More of a complete package than the more touristy island towns. Castro was a perfect base. Beautifully furnished, friendly and helpful staff. A comfortable and stylish stay close to all the pleasures of the town.

I’m really lucky I get to travel lots and stay in some great places, this is an absolute gem, the place can only be described as authentically gorgeous, the staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble, the bed will without doubt be the most comfortable things you will ever sleep in, the spa is phenomenal, and the massage is one of the best I have had anywhere in the world…… ranks alongside my blind man in china…… fantastic is not good enough….. well done everyone

The hotel is about 10 minute or so walk from the port. So super easy to get to from the ferries! We had the master suite and it was amazing. A great view and lots of space! They have a very thoughtful breakfast. It is in their cellar restaurant. It includes a buffet where you can the meats, cheeses and fruits you want. But they also serve a hot breakfast aspect of eggs. All was very tasty! The hotel is also at the end of the main pedestrian street which was good. The staff are also very accomodating!
