Phuong was lovely. I asked for sunscreen for my gel Mani and she hooked me up. My nails look great. She also set me up with fantastic travel tips for my trip to Vietnam. Another staff member offered my friend and I complimentary beverages. I just came here while I was waiting for my car to get detailed. I didn't expect to want to come back but now it's on my list of favorite nail spots :)

I called and they were able to book me in for a reg mani within 2 hrs. Phuong did me sooo good!!! I love my pearly nails. She was so gentle and quick with my cuticles, and immaculate polish application. They made sure my nails were dry before leaving!

Horrible horrible service I went yesterday to do a manicure and a Pedicure $50 .. that service usually take 40 min.. well it was done in 15 min they rust everything..because they had more customer. Very upset to pay $50.. I actually told the lady that was doing my manicure to stop because she was rushing the job that my nails look all mess up.. here are some picture of the horrible job this lady did.. I give 0 start to this location..don't go to this place

Right next to the Castro Theater, this is a great place to get your nails done and people watch. Tip: Call and make an appointment. Space is limited, as they only have four chairs and two manicure stations.

Well, my first visit was wonderful, second one was pretty good too, but my third one was rude, rushed, and poorly executed. Pictures are 1 week after pedicure. HORRIBLE.

Had an excellent Gel Manicure with Phuong during my recent visit to San Francisco. She was thorough and meticulous with my nails and I loved my massage at the end!!!! I would HIGHLY recommend Phuong to others seeking this service!

I've been to this salon many times as I used to live in the neighborhood. I continued to go back for years after I moved away for the great customer service and treatment. That being said, I was there last week and had a completely different. It was rushed. I didn't receive the treatment that I had in the past. I'm willing to pay a little more ($50) for great service. I may give it another chance but that's doubtful. It was good while it lasted.

Ladies were amazing. It was a great treat to take my husband out for his first manicure in the USA. Well worth it. And the ladies were marvelous!!

I had a bad case of long fingernails and toenails I can cut my own fingernails but the toenails I have trouble with so I decided to go to the Castro Nail Salon. I was running about 15 minutes late but I kept in contact with the business and they adjusted their schedule to fit my schedule very nice of them. As soon as I arrived I was asked to sit in a chair my feet were put in a wet bath my fingers were too and then one woman started working on my fingernails and well that was going on another woman took care of my toenails I was out of that shop within 30 minutes! My toenails have never looked this good! I definitely recommend this shop!

Walked in and Susan squeezed me in and gave me a great gel manicure! 10/10 recommend.

I like this nail salon and like the ladies and go there frequently for my pedicure. I've left other reviews, but I'm leaving this review because I just walked out and I'm a little ticked off. I'm a really good customer. I schedule my appointments. I arrive 10 minutes early for my pedicure appointment and they took too many people before I got there and told me two guests arrived late and they took them so they weren't gonna be able to do my appointment at my scheduled time and then asked me to reschedule later in the day. I can't because I have other things scheduled today. At some point salons have to prioritize their best customers and for people that arrive late they just have to be told they have to reschedule. I hope those people tipped them well.

Hanna is amazing!! I don't think I've ever had such a nice gel manicure done; she checked in at every step of the process, and was extremely precise and meticulous with every move. Her attention to detail was much appreciated, I'll definitely be back! Average prices (for San Francisco), nice location on Castro, pretty fast service. Glad I visited.

I booked my appointment here on Yelp and had a great, helpful conversation with the owner Riyadh who confirmed my appointment within twenty minutes of sending my request! I was taken immediately and taken care of by Hanna. She was very sweet and did an excellent job! It's my first post-COVID manicure and she was efficient and worth every penny. Still not one chip, and I'm a nurse, constantly washing my hands and changing gloves! Thank you Castro Nails! I'll definitely be back!

So consistency in service and quality is very important to me. Castro Nail (Susan!) has hit the mark for me for years and years! I lived in the Castro for 14 years and moved to San Mateo 4 years ago. I still make the trip up to the salon for my mani, pedis and waxing every time. Susan is the only person that has been able to get my waxing just right every time! I was in the salon today for a mani and brow wax and once again Susan delivered. she is my go to person always. Truly a master in what she does. Thank you Susan for always making me look fabulous! see you in two weeks!

Love these ladies! Always friendly, great service, and they cut my nails SHORT how I like. I usually see Phong, Nicole, or Susan but all the women here are great. The owner is a nice guy too. My one gripe is I wish a Mani Pedi without nail polish was less expensive since it's less work but happy to support this business. They also do waxing services as well!

Okkkkkkk...Always had a good experience here until three weeks ago! Never been rushed out of a pedi chair so fast my eyebrows fell off! At 1120am the nail technician said we are available to see you...Now when 1127am hit two people came in for appointments and I have never ever seen someone finish up so fast!!!! 35.00 dollars later???? 8 minute pedi????Not acceptable....... Worst pedi ever.... Buyers Beware!! Obviously their tip was better than mine...She had her eyes on the prize...Never again!!!

The service here is amazing. Everyone is so friendly and pleasant and professional. They really spend a lot of time on you with perfect results. They know their craft well and you get high quality results. The arm massage felt great.

Cute nail salon in the Castro, surrounded by tons of restaurants, cafes, and shops. A mani pedi was $40, which is reasonable for SF. The ladies were attentive, efficient, and super sweet! The salon had a solid selection of colors (both regular and gel). Hanna did my pedicure, and she took her time with the massage and made sure that my toes were completely dry before leaving (and even helped me wrap them because I was in a rush). The lady who helped with my manicure was also really attentive to detail and sweet. I'll be back if I'm in the neighborhood for sure!

I have been going to Castro Nail Salon every three weeks or so, for almost 8 years now. I rely on reviews, and experiences of others, but have not written one for this business yet, so, here goes: In my experience, the staff has been nothing but absolutely professional in talking to customers, making appointments and providing service. I have never been asked for a tip (of course I do because it is customary and also too appreciate their work). The staff is also in a happy mood and with upbeat music playing in the background. I settled on this Salon after going to several others in the Castro area and continue to go here every 3 weeks although I moved out of San Francisco and live in the peninsula (4 years now!). A shoutout to Susan for being an absolute delight and such a pleasant person to work with! I highly recommend checking this place out!

Such a lovely little spot in the Castro. All the ladies are so happy to be there, and have a lot of fun with their customers. Very personable and will always remember you! Did a very nice job with my toes. They even painted little Halloween faces on my uncles toes, adorable. Will come back next time I'm in the area!

Best place in the Castro to get your nails done (I've tried the competition and can vouch for that haha). It's a small place with just a few pedicure stations and nail stations but it's a high quality experience from beginning to end. They have a good selection of nail colors and will offer you a drink - tea, water, wine. The owner and employees are all so friendly and accommodating and have an eye for detail for the shaping and painting. Reasonable prices as well, and you can purchase gift cards too. Highly recommend!

I've tried this place a few times. Granted I usually just go for a basic pedicure and I'm not getting fancy things on my nails. But for a basic pedicure this place is great. They have given me appointments on short notice and have always been super friendly. The prices are definitely reasonable based on their location. It usually runs me about $27 for a basic pedicure plus tip. They do a really good job on my nails. I usually do an awful job so they've fixed my toe nail massacres and now my nails look great. I've decided to get regular pedicures now to keep the look going and as long as I'm in this neighborhood, I'll keep going to this salon!

I work nearby, so it is convenient to get a lunch time mani. It's a small salon, so it's best to stop by during off peak hours/days. There's a wall of OPI polishes, they carry Essie and a few other brands as well. I wish the OPI section was better organized by shades so I could find the nude shades I like. The owner & staff are super sweet and considerate.

I came here for my birthday, walkin-in with no waiting on a Sunday, and while not overly friendly or chatty (which I don't mind when they stock the current US weekly) they did a pretty decent job. Granted, in North Beach I grew accustomed to a nail place where everyone knew me and chatted me up and where they did an amazing long-lasting job for around $20. In the Castro, the prices go up to about $30. Also, a mani just will not last as long (these are the places where they paint the top of the nail and not the side edges, maybe it's a style choice but I like the WHOLE thing painted). I added a star for Mimosas on Sundays and for how they shut the door when I said it was chilly, and turned my nail dryers to the warm setting, I like people who are receptive. Good OPI colors, cute atmosphere (right next to the castro theater), and decent prices (I paid $37 for a mani/pedi and a paraffin hand dip). Minus one star for forgetting to tell my manicurist that I asked for paraffin so I got the dip AFTER my nails were done, causing the polish to bubble. Doing better than All About You (one of my castro favs) for longer lasting polish though! Also, to speak to some of the "unsanitary" claims, They had an autoclave machine sitting right there on the counter and they were using it with each instrument I saw, so I'm not too worried about the hygiene there.

The owner (or manager) messaged me and offered me free gel nail, different lady to does my nails and she has better skills,the nail stay longer this time. He are really nice and polite,I like their service.

I have walked by the Castro Theater many times and never noticed this nail salon. I am happy that I found it because it is the best nail salon I have been to in SF. I like that it is small in size so it can never been too loud or crowed. It is perfectly located, if you like people watching. The staff is very friendly. The best tip I can offer is make an appointment.

It is the 3rd time I come here (because I live 2 blocks away) and the 3 times my experience in this nail salon have been disappointed. The man made my toe bleed bad and he didn't even apologize at all, he add it some product (no alcohol) to the open wound thay he did..I told.him.to stop because it would go straight to my blood stream and I didn't know what was it.I left the salon and I still have the scar in my toe.the second and 3r time, I wanted to relax but he ladies there are too rude and loud they talked to me and another lady rude and have me not enough options .I felt kinda humiliated because of the way she was talking to me. And well if u are looking for a safe quiet relaxing nail salon this is not it..I will go to a different one even tho it takes me a 3 minute walk to get to this one..:( ..

Great little place! The ladies are really friendly and the midday special is a pretty good deal, $40 for a mani and pedi from 10am-2pm. I would happily stop by again, especially since it's in my neighborhood.

Self-care is so important!! I love getting my feet done here early in the morning when they open before the Castro gets going. The vibe is super chill, all the nail tech ladies are friendly and very competent. Easy to book ahead with the friendly gentleman who does reception. I highly recommend Castro Nail for mani/pedi and nostril and ear hair waxing.

Consistently great work! My girlfriend and I go here regularly to get our pedicures. Everyone is wonderful! We often work with Susan and know we are always in capable hands with her. My girlfriend is a dancer and Susan always takes the time to work on her feet to make sure they are ready for the stage and out of pain. We never feel rushed or judged for our wild nail color choices either ;) An absolute little gem in the heart of the Castro.

They are pinchy pully and talk A LOT- not exactly a quiet 'spa like' experience. When they nip people (including me) they have these dopey excuses why it is the customers fault ?? and it has happened every time I have visited (they nip ppl with the cuticle nippers) My gels literally peeled day 1 and 3. So never again - too bad bc it is right by my hair place.

I've been going here for YEARS! My podiatrist recommended getting regular pedicures to treat nail issues, and since I prefer to patronize businesses in the Castro, I went here for the first time at least four years ago. Covid notwithstanding, I've been a steady customer ever since. Susan in particular has done wonders with my feet!

I've become addicted to CNS. My third time here. My nails have never looked better. They take their time and do a very thorough job. I like the position of the salon chairs looking out the window and I very much appreciate the thorough, thoughtful job they do. Phuong addresses me by my name which I appreciate and I'm making sure I schedule my next session so my nails continue to look their best. Thanks Castro Nail Salon!!!!

Took mom for a little treat and she came out saying it was the best nail salin she has been to in the city...shes definitely coming back and so I am! Two new happy clients!

I've been coming here for a while now and the ladies always take good care of my nails (mani/pedi). Last time I was here Susan did my mani and Nicole did my pedi. Both were great. I really appreciate the attention to detail in making sure all the cuticles are eradicated. The arm and foot massage is always a treat as well. Highly recommend that you call a day or so ahead since they get very, very busy.

I had a great first experience here today. I wanted a manicure because I have a job interview tomorrow night. I know, gay, right? No, wait, GQ says its okay. So it must be. But anyway... Went for the mani/pedi because it was only $25, and while I don't have a particular foot fetish going on, and no desire for colored nails, I also don't want to be one of those guys with the heinous looking feet... so thought some preventative maintenance couldn't be a bad idea. They were respectful, very nice. No pain. No rush. It was just what the doctor ordered (It was a stressful morning). I "missed" the $25 special by almost an hour, but when I expressed disappointment they honored that price anyway, which was very cool of them. I'll be back, and maybe bring friends next time :-)

That was probably the fastest pedicure of my life. But for 30 bucks it was pretty damn efficient. For the price you get the basics. I wish I had known that I could've paid extra for callus removal but I'll know for my next visit.

I just moved to SF and have been looking for a new nail salon, and decided give Castro Nail Salon a try today. I was able to get an appointment right away! I did the classic mani/pedi. The ladies were super friendly and paid close attention to detail. They did my fingernails and toes at the same time, for a full indulgent experience. I sat on a comfortable message chair as they worked on my nails. The best part was, I asked for a flower on my toes, and the nail artist said she would do a simple flower, and then she made a wonderful sparkly Hawaiian flower on both big toes!! I love it!! And the best pet was, it was super affordable to go during the week day - it cost $40, which is very reasonable. I will definitely be back!!

My friend and I came here at 2.10 pm on Monday, originally We are going to try their Mid day special but I realize that we already past the time which is 2 pm, but the owner was really accommodating, He gave the mid day special anyway event though is past 2 pm. All the lady that work there are really nice, good Job ladies :). Definitely will come back again.

This is a great place to get superb treatment. Susan has consistently waxed my ears and nose for over two years. She is meticulous, quick and careful. For the last couple of moths she has also provided me with pedicure services and I have only compliments. My toenails are not easy to trim and she did a superb job!

INCREDIBLY RUDE!!!! I came the first time last week and Susan used one of her nail files to injure me, putting a bleeding hole in my pinky nail. Instead of reporting her, I came back a week later to get my nails done with someone else in hopes of having a better experience. The geo nail application was mediocre, but I paid and left. THE NEXT DAY two of my nails had big chips in them! That is unacceptable for gel nails. When I went in the day after the chip to get them fixed, they were rude, nonchalant, and told me they were busy in a way they let me know they didn't want to service me. Please take your money elsewhere. I just moved to SF, and I hope this sort of treatment isn't common I would like to add that I only went back after the initial injury because of the salon's very close proximity to my home. I won't be making that mistake again.

I walked over to this salon based on the yelp reviews since I am from out of town. I was highly disappointed when the staff was arguing with me telling me they could not service me because I have acrylic nails when I only have a gel manicure. I tried to explain that it's gel and they staff kept arguing telling me it's acrylic. I have been getting my nails done for over 15 years and I clearly know the difference between gel and acrylic. If the staff took a correct look at my nails one is broken and you can straight up tell I have gel not acrylic. If I could give negative stars I would. It's extremely disappointing as a visitor to be treated the way this business treated me.

Love these ladies, and the polite and friendly owner. I've been coming here for years! Straight forward and a great end product. They listen to their clients and make sure that you are pleased with their results during the visit. I love getting my mani/pedi's here. Weekdays you can usually get a walk-in appt. Weekends, make an appointment.

Castro Nails, you've done me wrong for the last time. I don't care if you're conveniently located, I can't waste my money on a manicure when my nails look like they did before the manicure within 48 hours. See my pictures for what my nails looked like only 36 hours after my mani. If I had time to get back to you, I would come in and demand my money back!

I loved everything about my experience at Castro Nails! From the amazing mani pedi, to the gracious owner - everything was executed flawlessly. They are a healthy salon, so no nasty smell of ammonia. They take time to make sure everything is above and beyond. I'm beyond happy!

Officially my go-to spot for pedis. I've come here on one other occasion and had a great experience as well. Both visits I've gotten a Castro pedicure, which is super comprehensive; a soak in Marine sea salts, followed by toenail shaping, cuticle grooming, callus removal, a softening peach paraffin treatment, passion fruit exfoliation and aromatherapy oil, massage and polish. I RECOMMEND the Castro pedicure, of course ($40). I also get my eyebrows done here, and care highly recommend their service I also recommend chatting with the staff. I've visited some dull nail salons before, but the ladies here are social, love to laugh, and care about the work they do. They're open to feedback and enjoy speaking with guests. OVERALL a full four stars for Castro Nail Salon. Great services at affordable prices in a prime location!

Long overdue review. I've been an on and off loyal customer since 2014! Very small location, getting an appointment wouldn't be a bad idea just to be safe but you can definitely find plenty of times to walk in. Attentive ladies! Lots of colors! Champagne, water or tea? This place always made me FEEL amazing even as a broke little college sophomore. Not only that but, though, I didn't come very often they always remembered me (even after over a year away) and I always felt like I was being warmly welcomed back. Sometimes the owner is around and he is wonderful, caring, and attentive. He always remembers me and always makes sure I'm content. Please, check them out next time you're walking by!

This was my first time here. I'm very picky and I'm so impressed with this salon. Great location, clean, friendly, well priced. I made my appointment via the yelp app because the salon had been closed the day before. Quick response and worked out perfectly. Susan was great! She's meticulous and my nails turned out beautiful. Will be returning for sure!

Castro Nail Salon is literally my favorite nail salon in the entire world (and I've been to many!). I've been coming regularly for a few years. The owner is incredibly kind and attentive and takes great pride in the salon. The women who work here are all professional and very nice. The quality of their work is also great. I've had my nails done here maybe 100 times, and I've never had any complaints. They take care of their customers and seem to enjoy the work. The salon is well-kept and hygienic. I recently moved to New York City, but still make sure to come in when I'm in town. This place is one of the real gems of the Castro neighborhood and of San Francisco.
