"Open for: Breakfast and lunch Price range: $$ Brunch spot Castro’s could survive entirely on overflow customers from its neighbor, Eggs ‘n’ Things, but the food is so good that Waikīkī-averse locals will face the crowds for the Cubano, choripan, and braised brisket sandwiches. In his Cuban-inspired cuisine, chef-owner Luis Castro emphasizes local ingredients (rare in an independent Waikīkī restaurant) like foraged flowers, local pork, and fruit plates that eschew the ubiquitous imported berries in favor of a farmers market bounty of tropical items. Best for: Groups of fewer than four, since the place and tables are small." - Martha Cheng

Absolutely obsessed with the food. We visited multiple times and I highly recommend it. We tried the eggs and cheddar breakfast sandwich, avocado toast, french toast, brisket and eggs breakfast sandwich, watermelon and beets salad; absolutely excellent!! The presentation gets an A+ too. Thank you for making our breakfasts memorable.

One of my favorite food stops in Oahu! We stopped for a quick lunch and split the Cubano sandwich with a side of black beans. It was so good! Our server was so friendly and she really understood the assignment when I asked for more ice, thank you!!! My biggest regret was not being able to come back to the French toast. I hope to come back again someday!

BEST FRENCH TOAST OF YOUR LIFE! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! This was an amazing spot for breakfast. Don’t let a busy line fool you, the service is fast and friendly. Tres Leches French Toast was absolutely insane, possibly one of the best meals we have had on Honolulu! Also had the Brisket breakfast sandwich which was perfect, Latte was on point too!

When I'm traveling I don't usually go to the same place twice, but here we are 2nd morning in a row. I suspect we will be here tomorrow too. The food is amazing, sitting outside watching the world go by. It's an extremely pleasant experience. The menu is so creative. I got the avocado toast, not your typical (see photo!) The man got the Brisket breakfast sandwich. Must try it!

Absolutely a must! The French toast is heavenly! The staff is amazing! The cafe con leche was perfectly done! Check this place out and get out of your hotel!

Great brunch spot with a short line and delicious food. The brisket sandwich (pictured) was so tender it melted in my mouth. I highly recommend the sandwiches - incredible quality for less than $15. We also got the fish plate (pictured) which is “market price” (~$27 the day I went). While expensive, it was tasty and expansive. I recommend this spot for brunch or lunch. Get the sandwiches!

We had the cuban sandwich and it was very good. Full of meat and flavor. Small place so there could be a wait although we did not on weekday at 12.

so so good!!! Never had Latin American food before but the food was amazing. Ordered a tres leche French toast and it was fresh, beautiful, and the best French toast I’ve had. The dragon fruit whipped cream was a nice touch. The portion was pretty big. The restaurant is small but has indoor and outdoor seating. It’s a cute spot, great music, and nice employees
