"This Saturday, January 12 marks the opening of North County’s first cat cafe, and just the second in the San Diego area. Founded by Caroline and Andrew Vaught, Cat & Craft brings together the couple’s love for cats and their passion for craft coffee; the Vista-based venue combines a 1,500-square-foot cafe with an 800-square-foot cage-free lounge space for adoptable cats and kittens. Separated from the cat area by a glass wall, the cafe will feature coffee from Rancho Bernado’s Manzanita Roasting Company in everything from espresso drinks to single-origin pour-overs and housemade cold brew. The daytime menu includes avocado toast and seasonal fruit toast with lemon mascarpone made with bread from Bread & Cie and pastries and desserts provided by local companies A Delight of France and Hazel and Jade, a vegan bakery. The foster cats are from North County 501c3 Love Your Feral Friends (LYFF) and are fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped; all of the adoption fees will go to supporting the non profit. Visiting the cat lounge costs $12 per hour, and reservations are recommended; children over seven are allowed if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, the cafe will feature art by local artists and plans to host a variety of events, from cat yoga to private functions." - Candice Woo

Exceptionally clean, kind and welcoming staff. Fun to place to play with the kittens and adopt them. The coffee is excellent too. The parking lot right in front is a bit small but there are plenty of parking sports in a very short walking distance. All of the animals are exceptionally well cared for. They also host parties here in their front room. So if you have kids or just love cats, this is a great place to have a gathering. When you are having a coffee and snack in the main room you can look through big windows into the cat area and watch them run around and do what cats do.

I love this place and it’s where I adopted my cat 4 years ago. I took my 2 year old grandson to kiddie play hour and he had a blast. Everyone was kind and respectful. Food and coffee are great too.

My family had a wonderful time here! Unfortunately I’m allergic to cats so I can’t have them as pets, so places like this are so amazing to me!! The cats were all so sweet and friendly and the staff were super nice as well. Will definitely be back!

My family visited on 2/24/24. The staff at the cafe were very friendly and informative. The only BIG issue I have and hence 2 stars was I was interested in a cat for my 16 year old daughter. The counselor that called turned everything I said about our living situation against us. Then, pre assumed that the cat wouldn't be a good fit. This cafe is great for just going and hanging out with cats, but if you want to adopt go through a different adoption company because this one wants to make it super difficult to get a forever companion from them! 🤨 The pics are of the cat we wanted to make a part of our family and they didn't want to make it happen. ☹️

Coming from the east coast, firstly the space is beautiful! The food variety and drinks were so hard to choose from (so many yummy options), I tried the avogato and asked for a panini caprese without the meat and the staff was accommodating for the request. For drinks I had the lemonade blueberry and on my way out asked for a popular recommendation so got the iced horchata which both had good flavor profile. For a treat had a strawberry danish and they warmed it up. Cat portion was easy to book online, the signs were straightforward and I didn’t feel lost on where or what to do. The attendant was very sweet and welcoming, there was 15 cats in the space when I went and I was alone for most the session. The babies were all sleepy which totally fine I didn’t try to entice play since they’re resting. I chatted with the attendant and told her I worked at a cat cafe too and asked some general questions. I got sneak peaks of new shy babies which was so nice too! My fav cat was the handicat solid gray 🥰 Overall good experience, calming space def a must go if you’re in SD. If I had to make a comment I wish there was more available merch for purchase but I got a sticker! And the bio boards were a little hard to read to navigate the cats.

Food and drink alone are worth stopping by. I enjoyed the cat lounge- lots of sweet kitties! My favorite part is that the environment is focused on cat happiness. Noise level is low, no grabbing or picking up or chasing the kitties. The cats can leave the lounge anytime to a separate space. They have plenty of high spots to get to and so many comfy beds and toys and hiding places. Highly recommend 😊

A really lovely coffee shop/cafe with a mission. Unique coffee drinks - we had the chocolate banana milk latte and the tiramisu matcha, both of which were really unique in flavor and perfectly balanced in terms of sweetness. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. We sat at the window and watched the cats playing in the room next door; Cat & Craft is committed to cat adoption and their cat lounge is delightful, even if you are not inside the room!

My daughter and l love this cat cafe, and frequently visit on the weekend for some "cat therapy." The staff is so friendly and the cats are the best! The espresso drinks are very good too. I especially like the dirty chai latte.
