"With a gorgeous interior and terrace, Catbird at the Thompson Hotel is a downtown gem. The cocktail menu veers from classics to exotic, with the Femme Fatale as a highlight from the latter options that tells you everything about the vibe of the place. It’s a gin cocktail with Charaeu, peppercorn Lillet, and pamplemousse (er, that’ French for cantalope)." - Courtney E. Smith, Rachel Pinn

"The second spot is called Catbird, and will open on the building’s tenth floor on November 27. Both restaurants are part of the Thompson Hotel. Catbird will offer sharable plates like wagyu beef in a pho-like broth, creamy shishito pepper dip, and braised rutabaga skewers, served alongside classic cocktails. Catbird will be open for dinner daily, from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday, until 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and until 12:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday." - Brittanie Shey

It was date night for my husband and I so we ventured into Dallas to try Catbird. We made a reservation and even though we were 15 minutes late they still accommodated us - and with a smile. We had a great seat location by the window so we could see the outside seating as well as the amazing view of downtown. Our server was very helpful and sweet and provided us with excellent food recommendations. We tried the Burnt End Hummus and Flanken Beef Ribs which were both absolutely delicious! We were worried that the food wouldn't be filling since it's mostly small plates, but we shared both meals and they were the perfect portion. I also tried the espresso martini and it was wonderful! The vibes in this place are fantastic and the ambiance is Instagramable. This is the perfect place for a date night, ladies night, or just to have a drink and enjoy the lowkey atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

Favorite place in D for cocktails and small bites. Service was the best! above and beyond. Had dinner at little daisy 🌼 and was meal was probably the best I've had all year. Perfect date night, business meetings, staycation in D. Felt like it was an underground Dallas Yacht club at the Thompson. Be back soon! Pool likes awesome too! Great vibes.

After a long day at the office, where else would one rather be than enjoying a refreshing drink while taking in the city streets below? I had a hankering for a tequila concoction, and the catbird cocktail seemed intriguing, although I must admit, the dainty glass it came in wasn't quite my style. Opting for a more rugged vessel, I found myself sipping on a grapefruit-infused foam, much to my amusement. Despite the unconventional choice, the picturesque view truly made it a nice evening when the weather was on our side.

I stumbled across this place when I came to dinner at Monarch. It’s a separate elevator from Monarch. I saw a fun young couple headed that direction, so I decided to check it out after dinner. The place was not strict with dress code as long as you look put together. I saw a few guys with t-shirts and shorts. Most people dressed presentably. They closed at 12:30 on Saturday night. By the time I got there, kitchen was already closed. I already ate anyway. As soon as the elevator opened, I thought it was a club. The music was loud, but fun and exciting. It made me curious what’s inside. The security guard explained that it’s a restaurant/bar. They have checking in area for belongings so I can be hand free for my drinks. Once I walked through their immersive tunnel, I notice that the place was crowded, but not packed. It’s a good amount of people to have a fun vibrant Saturday night. It looked like they got DJ on Saturday. I’m not sure if it’s every night thing. It got a small dance floor, but most people were bathed in the conversations and people watching. I personally enjoy tons of seating areas. Each area is unique and different. They got two bar areas: one inside and one in the main patio. Even though the bar was full, people are pretty polite and respectful of taking turns. After I gave myself a tour of the whole place, I finally found my cozy spot outside in one of their rooftop patio. The side I was on is much smaller than the main patio, but I got the view of both swimming pool (a level below) and Dallas high rise view. I made myself at peace on the patio (cushioned) bench, while basked myself in the nice cool wind of Autumn. The weather was beautiful. It was not hot and not cold. It was just right. It doesn’t matter where you are in the restaurant. Whether you come with your folks, with your loved one, or by yourself, you will find an area that you sprawl comfortably.

The inside of the restaurant was extravagant. Overall, the ambience was nice. However, the night we visited, there was a strong, fishy smell near the bar. It was odd, but we were only there to order a drink, so we weren't there long. Our drinks were a bit pricey, but that is to be expected, based on the environment. The cocktail menu is very extensive. The view from the balcony was great. My time here was fine, and nothing was "bad" per say. However, this place isn't really my scene. We experienced the view, got a cocktail, but I don't necessarily need to come back. Just my opinion though. I can see why others would love it.

This is one of my most treasured gems in Dallas. My first visit was December 28,2022 and my most recent visit was July 4th 2024. Each time I’ve gone it has been a true delight. I love the ambiance, the waitstaff and the food. I enjoy the seasonal menus that serve up a delightful surprise each time I visit. The entrance decor is always so gorgeous. Catbird is appropriate for a girls outing, first date, anniversary, birthday and definitely Christmas holiday cheer. My pictures are from my very first visit and the most recent.

I absolutely had the best time tonight eating out for my best friend Cristina’s birthday and Lexy was our waitress and she did an amazing job. I absolutely love the salad, the cauliflower and the shrimp was amazing. I had a Vodka tonic with some really good cherries. Everything was absolutely amazing. I will definitely be back.

My wife and I recently did an early dinner date night at Catbird and we’re really impressed by the whole experience. The restaurant itself has an amazing atmosphere with awesome views of downtown Dallas. I would love to come back on a cool fall or spring night to get to experience the patio because it was really unique. The prices were a bit high compared to other cocktail bars, but the overall experience and quality justified it in my mind.
