I am Amazed of how Fantastic and great tasting this place really is! The food was hot and the shrimp was amazingly large just the way I like it! The name fits their services catch 22. You caught a new customer! Thank you I most definitely will highly recommend this wonderful place!❤️

Google
Taryn was the best server ever. What a gem! The food was perfect too.

Google
My husband and I went for a date night out and were pleasantly surprised. He had the crab stuffed flounder with grits and mixed vegetables and I had the fried oysters & grilled scallops with mashed potatoes and asparagus. We each had a glass of wine as well, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc. The food was delicious and the one crisp, our server was attentive and super friendly. Only negatives were the sides were not hot, just warm, and the up charge of 50¢ for bacon and 25¢ for cheese on the mashed potatoes and grits. We will definitely be going back again.

Google
GREAT FOOD AND ATMOSPHERE. JUST MOVED TO THE COLUMBIA AREA AND THIS WAS THE FIRST RESTAURANT WE VISITED. WE ARE FROM THE NJ SHORE AREA AND THE SEAFOOD WAS EXCELLENT! FRESH BROILED FLOUNDER AND SALMON DINNERS WERE INDEED VERY FRSH AND DELICIOUS. SERVICE EXCELLENT. GLAD WE ARRIVED AT 430 AS BY 5 IT HAD ALREADY FILLED UP AND A LINE WAS FORMING. GREAT PLACE HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Google
Went for dinner with the family for my birthday. Food was great. Service was great! Our waitress was attentive and very friendly! Hubby had dropped off a cake earlier in the day and after we finished our dinner, the waitress brought the came to the table with candles...

Google
Apparently, I went on a bad night. Ordered, french fries and sweet potato fries, they came out ice cold. My dinner wasn’t much warmer. It was tasty though, blackened grouper over red pepper grits, but I like my food hot and I was disappointed. the air conditioner was blowing right on me. I felt like I was in a refrigerator, should’ve brought a fleece ,Anyway I’ve been there before and had no problems. The service was awesome though.

Google
Catch 22 in Chapin SC is great! The food was reasonably priced, served at the perfect temperature and was delicious! From the crab/cream cheese wonton appetizer to my shrimp/grits entree and my husband's blue crab stuffed flounder entree, everything was cooked perfectly! Our menu items, along with tea and a couple of mixed drinks, were around $70. That's a really great price for the items and portions we received! We'll definitely go back!!

Google
Delicious seafood at such incredible prices! We live in Chapin and can't believe how lucky we are to have such a high quality restaurant with incredible seafood and specials at such affordable prices. The staff is always super friendly and they take reservations. The meals have always been spectacular with the freshest seafood. There are multiple options for the spices. The garlic mashed potatoes are out of this world! The fish is cooked to perfection. Love, love, love this restaurant! And it's in a quiet little spot not far off route 26. Anyone traveling who might want a quality dinner would find this gem to be a welcome place to eat. And for the record, I just like to promote the local businesses, so I have no motive other than sharing and hoping to bring more business into these struggling, family owned restaurants.

Yelp
Three of us visited last night and totally enjoyed dinner. My crab stuffed flounder was excellent and the asparagus and hush puppies were both amazing. My wife tried the scallops and commented on how good they were. Brandi provided us with outstanding customer service and her courteous manner was greatly appreciated. We will return another time.

Yelp
The food is always great and consistent. We love this place. Best seafood around. Clean and friendly

Yelp
We ordered the specials (arctic char and scallops) and they were delicious. Scallops had a pineapple glaze which we were initially skeptical about, but it was delicious.

Yelp
Try the Shrimp & Grits with Sausage. Best time to go is during the week midday. The vibe is "Welcome Home". As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with a smile. You'll get a boost of serotonin as a result of nostalgic 80's music playing overhead and 90's hit TV Shows like "Friends" displaying on screens. It's a comy-cozy local eatery that feels like it's always been around to serve homestyle meals.

Yelp
Great food and very reasonable prices! They don't take reservations but it's worth the wait!

Yelp
Great food, always fresh and well prepared, with friendly and attentive service, Catch 22 is always a good experience. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I want to give this place 4 stars minimum. I really do. But I can't. First, the service was a little slow. Not horrible but it cost them a star. The big problem is the fact that they charge double for dinner for the same menu items they have for lunch. Not larger portions mind you, just larger prices (we were there for a very late lunch). Secondly; hushpuppies is considered a side. Every seafood I've ever been to treats it like bread (which it is). Finally; they charge more for using a credit card. Not that much but another nail in the coffin. As for the food, it was very good. We had fried flounder, shrimp and oysters. The food alone deserves a four. Unfortunately; that's not the only thing at play here.

Yelp
This place was really good. Met our expectations and then some. We are down at Lake Murray for my kids bday weekend renting a boat and air b and b. We looked for a local seafood restaurant. We asked around and we got generic places around the lake to go, but 15 min away we'll worth it...okay now onto the food. I got the shrimp and grits...awesome. Shrimp tasted incredible. She crab soup, I ordered two bowls because it was amazing. My wife tried the crab cakes for the appetizer and that did not disappoint. She got the shrimp and scallop combo platter. Broiled scallops and fried shrimp cooked to perfection. She also got hush puppies. The kiddos got separate plates, blackened chicken Alfredo, ribeye, Cajun pasta (x2). The boys killed off their plates and said everything was amazing. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone not native to the area and if you are a local and haven't been there yet, you are missing out. Next year when we come back down for our long weekend, we will be back most definitely.

Yelp
A fantastic find in little 'ole Chapin. We went for a nice dinner out, it was a Tuesday, but prime time for eating and we were seated outside immediately. The fish was fresh and cooked perfectly. I asked for no butter or oil to be used and wasn't expecting a lot, but the seasoning and taste made my meal perfect and healthy! Love that they would accomodate. The prices were very reasonable ($18 for a choice of 2 broiled or fried seafood items + 2 sides) and my friends said the hush puppies are a 'not to be missed.' Will definitely be back!

Yelp
We tried this for the first time, me and my sister getting there near 11:30PM. We were immediately seated, and our waitress greeted us with a smile every time she came to the table. Made sure everything was good, gave us refills, just amazing and polite. We got there early, so the wait time on our food wasn't long at all. We were given an actual bottle of ketchup for our sweet potato fries, but we didn't use it though. Still, gotta appreciate the attentiveness of the waitress. Food was really good, blackened salmon just right; not undercooked and nor was it dry. It's really good with the lemon, and with me and my sister's sweet potato fries, they were nice and crispy. I had a side of veggies which were cooked good, and it consisted of yellow squash, zucchini, and onions. They are lightly seasoned with butter, but if you are the type that wants them seasoned a bit more, salt and pepper are available on the table. As for my sister's po' boy the fish was not overdone with a nice crunch, so nothing dry here. Definitely will be back again.

Yelp
Whether dining in or carrying out the food has been consistently good. We've enjoyed a number of meals ranging from grilled salmon to fried oysters and shrimp.

Gene A.

Yelp
The food is delicious The service was very good It's a very good seafood type restaurant

Yelp
Great local spot for fish and seafood. Service is good and prices are fair for the type and quality of food.

Yelp
Great food and great service. We go frequently and would highly recommend them! We love their specials which change every week.

Gary O.

Yelp
Always great food and service!Best fried shrimp around! Haven't had a bad there ever!

Randal B.

Yelp
We absolutely love this restaurant. The food is ALWAYS AMAZING and the prices could not be better, especially for their seafood. Also, we have always found their servers to be spot on. This last time we had a young man named Christian. If the restaurant ownership sees this post, you all need to give that young man a raise or a bonus or something. He is one of the best waiters we've had in ANY restaurant anywhere, so polite, welcoming, knowledgeable of the menu and right on top of our requests during the meal. If you haven't been to Catch 22, go soon, ask if Christian can wait on you, get the grouper bites for an app, and the shrimp and grits ask for your meal! You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
The food is so good I could eat here every single day. We go with a group of friends and absolutely one of our fav places to go! The servers are attentive, the presentation is amazing and we always thoroughly enjoy ourselves! Kudos to the chef and entire staff!

Yelp
My cousins and I always get takeout from here. It is really excellent seafood. Check it out when you're in Columbia.

Yelp
Wonderful food and service. We wanted to find a seafood restaurant near Lexington and I'm glad we stumbled into this place. I ordered the ahi tuna, my wife and a friend ordered the red snapper, and our other friend ordered a sampler platter. Everyone agreed this was much fresher and tastier seafood than we can find locally (near Augusta, GA) and this will definitely be a return trip next time we are in town. Drinks were also very good (mules are really impressive) and every worker we encountered was very nice and responsive. Only one complaint: very loud room. Maybe some curtains or sound treatment would help, but the sustained roar might be problematic for sensitive ears (my dad wouldn't be able to eat here due to his tinnitus).

Mark K.

Yelp
Everyone's food was great. Large portions and cooked to perfection. Service was prompt and friendly. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
I love this place. It reminds me of a classic old restaurant in Springfield, IL where I grew up and enjoyed with my parents. The food is very good and the all the staff are nice and efficient.
google avatar

Jonnie J.

Yelp
Excellent fresh seafood. Service is a bit slow but the wait staff are friendly. The decor needs to be updated , it looks a bit worn . Overall this place is solid good food.

Yelp
When we receive order and express " not the same as last visit " ie Fish Portion NOT same / hush puppies too hard and Sides ( not properly drained ) running into the Main Entree We always get a nonChallant remark by waiter at which time I've asked for Mgmt whom she ALSO SEEMS NOT TO CARE . . Inferring " you're the only one complains " Sorry but just being honest and wanting " what I paid for "

Lee S.

Yelp
1 out of 4 visits was OK! Seafood is either undercooked or overcooked. There seems to be no rhyme or rhythm to the cooking here.

Yelp
Seafood is my favorite food -- all types (with the exception of raw oysters!). I had the fried combo plate of fried oysters and fried fish. It was fabulous; 100% delicious. We got a basket of hush puppies to share among 4 people; make sure you order the basket. They were fantastic (love the sauce that came with them). I have eaten fried fish everywhere I have lived: several areas of Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas and Georgia. Catch 22 has the best, the absolute best, of anywhere I have been. I sincerely wish the owners would consider opening one in my area. I can assure them it would be a winner! We do not have any seafood restaurants in this part of Georgia and citizens are begging for one. I can put you in contact with the City Council in my area to get the ball rolling if you are interested. I hope you will consider my suggestion!

Debby R.

Yelp
Don't order the Carolina crabcakes! They're awful, taste like off brand frozen crabcakes from the grocery store. Service is great, & this is 1st time I had entree that wasn't eatable.

Paul E.

Yelp
My wife and I have been going to Catch 22 for several years. The reasons are simple ... the food has been uniformly excellent, the prices are modest and the wait staff are simply outstanding. When the weather is nice, there outside seating is our preference. We highly recommend the Catch 22. Catch 22 offers a menu that is a contrast to the various steak's restaurants in the area. Give it a try, we are confident you will enjoy the experience.
google avatar

Yvonne N.

Yelp
We love Catch 22 for lunch. They have friendly staff members and the food is reasonably priced and tasty. I highly recommend their collard greens and also cheese grits!

Marcia P.

Yelp
I have never had an unsatisfactory experience at Catch 22. I frequent it often for in dining eating as well as take out. The service is excellent, and the food is always delicious. My favorite is the shrimp poor boy. You can't beat it. The daily specials are also great.

Yelp
FOOD was awesome ! Service was Great, attentive without being overbearing. The honey/ butter for the hush puppies was Amazing. highly recommend this place. Bathrooms clean, restaurant was clean .

Yelp
My wife and I visited this eatery for lunch today. We were pleasantly surprised. The ambiance is very enticing. The service and server were excellent, even though they were short handed. Lastly, the food was excellent. They have a very unique and tasty clod slaw plus very good seasoned fries. We will go back.

Margaret A.

Yelp
I ate lunch at Catch 22 yesterday. I ordered one of the lunch specials that was described by the server as a deconstructed shrimp and grits. What I got was three small fried grit cakes and two (yes TWO) fried shrimp. The portion would have been skimpy as an appetizer. The price tag was even more surprising coming in at $15.99. The grit cakes were bland even with the sauce that was drizzled over them and the shrimp were soggy and greasy. Such a disappointment. I will not be back.

Brian K.

Yelp
Another great dinner last night. My wife got the special, creole topped grouper and I got the fried shrimp and flounder which were both outstanding. The staff is awesome to include the bartender Taryn and the hostess Raina. Also, please give the chef a raise....Can't wait to go back. Have never been disappointed going here.

Jody L.

Yelp
We like this restaurant and almost always have a great experience. One time when they were crowded and understaffed we had the bartender for a waitress and she had too much to do so our service was not good. Most other times the service and the food was very good. Blackened fish specials and Crab Legs are very good.

Janey P.

Yelp
Best food in town. Locally owned. Staff very friendly and accommodating. If you go, and you should go, try the yummy chicken Marsala with their homemade mashed potatoes. Hush puppies are my favorite too. Enjoy!!

Michael S.

Yelp
Great great seafood place! The crab cakes were amazing, as was the stuffed flounder. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Wow, so good!! My Boyfriend and I were in the area for the weekend and thought we would try it. Everything we had was amazingly good! We started with spinach and Artichoke dip with pita chips, and the chips were warm and tasted homemade (or they did a really good job of heating them up.) For dinner my Boyfriend had an oyster Poboy, and I had the crab stuffed flounder. Both were cooked perfectly and tasted phenomenal. (Even the onion rings were perfect!!). I would highly recommend this place!
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
Stopped in here while on the road, and overall it was a good choice for the area. Good Inland seafood is hard to find, and this place does a pretty good job. Lunch prices are reasonable, the food came quickly, and was overall pretty good. The calamari appetizer was a generous serving, and tasted reasonably fresh and cooked well. The broiled flounder platter was good, if a little on the bland side, seasoning-wise. Sides of grits and onion rings were good, but nothing to write home about. A good experience overall, and I'm happy with choosing this restaurant, but I'd be interested in exploring other parts of the menu in the future.
google avatar

Jerry C.

Yelp
This is now my favorite restaurant in Chapin. Amazing food, great atmosphere, and great service. I've now been twice. First time, the stuffed flounder. Awesome! Very tasty. My second visit, the Cajun pasta. Also very tasty with the perfect amount of spice. You can't go wrong on this menu.

Mike F.

Yelp
After having just moved to the area, we are very happy to have found this place. The food and service were both phenomenal. I had the Fried combo with flounder, oysters and shrimp, and my wife had the Crab Cake Sandwich. The French fries and sweet potato fries were both great. I also had collard greens--delicious.

Laura H.

Yelp
On a road trip from Tennessee to Savannah and we wanted to find a stop for lunch. I pulled up Yelp and found Catch 22. All I can say is WOW. The service, the crab soup, grouper bites, shrimp, and hush puppies put us into a food coma. I can't wait to stop again on our way home.

Raymond J.

Yelp
Food has much improved since the last time here 4 years ago. Will definitely go back

Nicole H.

Yelp
Pretty good, used to go there a lot. Service and portions are kinda slacking most days.

J W.

Yelp
Best place in town ! The staff are great! They make you feel at home ! The food is so good and fresh !

Yelp
Wonderful restaurant. Alisa was a gem. She explained all the dishes I had questions about. She is incredibly sweet and professional. We absolutely loved the Shrimp & Grits and the crab stuffed mushroom appetizer. We'll be back again.
