The 21 Essential Aspen Restaurants

"Situated in a second-floor space, this 10,000-square-foot, indoor-outdoor location by Catch Hospitality Group boasts sweeping views from Aspen Mountain to Red Mountain and heated patio seating year-round. Taking inspiration from the original Meatpacking District location in New York, Catch Steak tilts the traditional steakhouse model through a lighter, brighter, and fresher menu featuring shareable plates, a curated selection of American cuts, and a focused selection of Japanese wagyu (including snow beef from the Hokkaido prefecture, often called the “holy grail of wagyu”). For herbivores, there’s also a thoughtful selection of vegetarian and vegan options, like a vegetarian chicken parm (a plant-based cutlet with old-school red sauce) and wild dover sole with lemon-caper emulsion, spicy gigli, and aged pecorino." - Katie Shapiro

"Most people go to Aspen for both the skiing and the scene. On December 13, Catch Steak—known for its buzzy, club-like outposts in New York and Los Angeles, will officially add to the latter. Their Colorado outpost is steps from the Aspen gondola, and will have a heated year-round rooftop dining terrace with views of Ajax in addition to their main dining room and bar. As the name implies, they’ll serve up an abundance of premium steak (although their endlessly popular chili tuna tartar is also on the menu)."

Here is what you need to know about Catch Aspen: it offers great food, average service, and a fun atmosphere. I had dinner there on a Saturday night, and the place was packed. I highly recommend making a reservation. Initially, they tried to seat us at a communal table by the bar, even though I mentioned it was my birthday. After requesting a different table, they quickly accommodated us and found a better spot. The restaurant has a lively and somewhat loud atmosphere, which some may find appealing. The service was decent, though our server seemed to be preoccupied with larger tables and ended up bringing the check after we had already requested dessert. The highlight of the evening was definitely the food. Everything from the appetizers to the main courses was excellent. The carpaccio was outstanding, and the meat was cooked to perfection. I also recommend trying the fries as a side. Overall, Catch Aspen is a great choice if you’re looking to splurge and enjoy a nice dinner in Aspen.

Google
Overall an okay experience. The service was okay but definitely felt like the waiter was rushing us out for some reason. Compared to other restaurants in Vail and Aspen, they treated us worse. The food was mostly good. We started with a bluefin tuna tartare, salmon/dry aged prime rib cap, and ended with the 13 layered chocolate cake. The only problem was with my prime rib cap being half cooked and half blue/rare. The server didn't ask about the food so we just left it. Go to Steakhouse No. 316 instead.

Came here without a reservation at 8:15pm and even though the restaurant was full they accommodated us quickly. The service was kind and attentive and unpopular opinion but Catch has my favorite sushi rolls in Aspen. I think they taste the best and it tastes as good as the New York location. I also love the rib cap, the wagyu beef sampler and the wedge salad has a delicious dressing on it and big chunks of bacon and just the right about on blue cheese.

Another overpriced steakhouse with bad service. Wanted to like this place, but the service and dessert sunk it. The 38-day, dry aged 12-oz bone in strip had a nice crust and was cooked as requested but was overpriced considering its quality. The salmon was middle of the road, at best. The best food item ordered at my table was probably the Branzino (European seabass), and the worst item was the bananas foster. With only two dessert items available, you would think they would be done well, but not at Catch. It was so bad that my wife and Mother both refused another bite after one taste. It was incredibly loud, which ruined the atmosphere. We had to resort to yelling across our table to communicate. To make matters worse, our waiter was so inattentive that we were forced to hold up and wave a credit card to get our bill at the end of the night. The staff didn't even seem like they wanted to be there.

I only took one photo as it was a business dinner, but this dish was so beautiful I had to risk it! I have to say that all the other dishes closely matched the elegance of this one and everyone was out of this world delicious. I’ve eaten near three times and every time I’ve had a top 25 meal experience! On my next visit, I got a little more photo happy! Impeccable meal, service, experience as I have come to expect in this very fine dining establishment.

Google
What I liked about this place. The steak was delicious and the mashed potatoes were even more so! The atmosphere was super relaxing. Staff were also super friendly and helpful. What I disliked. The time it took to get our meal and the value of what we paid for vs what we got. We waited over an hour for our food and we were hungry. We got the $90 Japanese waygu sample plate where they cook a measly 1.5 oz of waygu in front of you. Delicious but not worth the $90. Overall our experience was positive here. The food is severely overpriced. But the ribeye steak and mashed potatoes were worth the price tag. The appetizers not so much. I recommend if you come here (and are paying yourself and not on business trip) to skip all appetizers. Go for their signature dishes and get the value you pay for. Definitely need a reservation to eat here as it is super popular. I recommend this place to anyone who loves steak and is looking to drop a few hundred on some high quality meat in Aspen.

Google
Absolutely love this restaurant. The employees are incredibly kind and hospitable which made the experience unbelievable. Our server Troy was brilliant and made our experience even better. Will definitely come back to catch soon. Best restaurant in Aspen!

Google
We made reservations ti Catch Steak for our anniversary while in Aspen. The restaurant is off the main street and there are street parking available. The vibe of this Catch was very different than LA one, nevertheless a good culinary experience. We were greeted by our host and walked into our table. The sittings are luxurious, interiors is cozy. We ordered seafood and some appetizers. Each dish was prepared meticulously, our fish was cooked well, it tasted fresh and side dishes we ordered were appealing. We ordered chocolate dessert and it was huge. The restaurant got quite busy and noisy by the end of the night. Our waiter, Berk was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and food. He made us welcomed and made excellent recommendations. Overall we enjoyed our experience.

Yelp
Had the most delicious birthday dinner here on 12/29/2024. Could not have asked for a better night and tastier food! We had a lovely table upstairs and the atmosphere was perfectly lively, loud, and fancy. Service was incredible and so was all the food. Genuinely no complaints and I would order all the same things in a heartbeat. We had the pretzel bread of course, the Caesar salad, and vegetable sushi to start. Our mains were three fillet mignons, one veg chicken parm, and one spicy pasta. Our sides were the broccolini, mash potatoes, and mac and cheese. The fillet was perfectly cooked and salted. So delicious my mouth is watering even from looking back at the pictures! For dessert we ordered the banana cream brûlée which was a hit with my family. No crumbs left on any plates tonight! Such a cool restaurant and perfect for my birthday

Yelp
The steak here is meh. Sorry but not sorry. There was zero evidence my filet was wagyu. Not able to cut through it with a knife, kinda charred.....def not worth 104.00. We came for our anniversary and though the steak wasn't up to snuff, the sushi rolls were BEYOND fire. They were the best rolls in Aspen thus far. I eat A LOT of sushi btw. Hubby got the ribeye cap. It too was good but not worth the price. The Hamachi though. cry good. We sat at the bar, by choice, and the mixed drinks are amazing. The service by the bartender was also 5 star. The blue cheese creamed spinach was good for a side. I did like the atmosphere, very 70's loungy trendy. Lots of good people watching as well. We'd go back, but for the fish.

Yelp
The food was fantastic, but for a steakhouse of this caliber the service was lacking. The host just stared at us before I introduced myself and indicated we had a reservation. Then, we were seated at a shared table with other guests, which was bizarre. Our server was distracted and not overly friendly. Many times we would say something and he would just walk away. The food, however, was very good. We started with beef carpaccio and the Caesar salad, which we loved. For dinner, we had two types of filet. They came out at the wrong temperatures. Fortunately, my husband and I just swapped steaks. The cocktails were good but pricey.

Yelp
Subject: Feedback on My Recent Visit to Catch Steak Aspen Dear Catch Steak Aspen Team, I'm writing as a loyal guest who has celebrated many wonderful occasions at your restaurant over the years. Catch Steak has always been synonymous with outstanding service, warmth, and a vibrant atmosphere that makes every visit feel special. That's why I felt it was important to share some feedback about my most recent experience, which, unfortunately, did not reflect the high standards I've come to expect. While the food was as exquisite as ever, the service during our visit left much to be desired and, sadly, detracted from what was meant to be a celebratory evening. From the start, our waiter's demeanor felt disconnected and unpolished. He didn't make eye contact, spoke too quickly and without warmth, and handled interactions with an abruptness that felt far below the standards of your establishment. Some specific moments that stood out: * The menus were collected with unnecessary force, creating a loud and jarring moment. * There was no effort to introduce or highlight menu items, which is something I've always appreciated about your team. * Drinks were served with little care or acknowledgment, and basic hospitality elements were missing throughout the evening. * When the manager kindly sent over dessert (a gesture we deeply appreciated), the waiter failed to acknowledge that it came from him, instead presenting it as something the restaurant provided. This small but meaningful detail would have added a personal touch to the evening. * Most notably, the waiter did not return to sing "Happy Birthday" when the dessert arrived, which was an important part of our celebration. I completely understand that everyone has learning curves and off nights, and perhaps this server is new or still in training. However, I feel it's crucial for a restaurant of your caliber to ensure that staff meet a baseline of competence and hospitality before being entrusted with the guest experience. These lapses were not reflective of the Catch Steak experience I've come to love and made an otherwise beautiful evening feel underwhelming. That said, I want to emphasize how much I still admire and appreciate your team's dedication to excellence. The food, as always, was phenomenal, and the gesture from your manager, even while out of town or off that evening, was a testament to the care you bring to your guests. It's this commitment to quality and service that keeps me coming back, and I share this feedback with the hope that it will be helpful as you continue to maintain the exceptional standards that make your restaurant so special. Thank you for taking the time to hear my thoughts. I look forward to returning and experiencing the Catch Steak I know and love.

Yelp
I loved the atmosphere and energy in this lively dining room. You'll experience Aspen at its finest though with the family style round table who has time to people watch. The two mains we had (bone in streak and Dover sole) were good though not great. Higher marks for the sides ( Mac and cheese, creamed spinach and broccolini) all outstanding! Most dishes can be shared and if you can save room for dessert. Enjoy!

Yelp
- Got the dry aged bone-in strip. Taste and texture were great - The mac n cheese + broccolini sides were a good addition - Just the right amount of food for two people. We were stuffed afterwards - The mountain views are meh. There are hotels with better views than this - Good place to go for some steak in Aspen

Yelp
Wow! Catch did not disappoint. Such a romantic setting for valentines dinner with red walls and roses on each table. They had special hearts on the desserts that added a thoughtful touch. We shared a few apps of fish and got the ribeye. Everything was so delicious and cooked perfectly. It was my first time at a catch steak and I'll definitely be back now.

Yelp
I came here for my boyfriends birthday. The ambiance was everything! It was just like the Catch in NY, great music, great service and amazing food. Everything was great except that mashed potatoes. They were runny, we sent back to get another but the second round came out exactly the same. The server was kind enough to remove them since we did not eat them.

Yelp
We had an amazing dinner here with fabulous food & a lovely ambiance. For appetizers, we got the Ceasar salad and the king crab roll. Both were absolutely incredible. For dinner, we got the 10 oz NY chili butter strip steak which was cooked perfect. It was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. We also got mashed potatoes which were absolutely unbelievable. Would highly recommend!!

Yelp
We come to Aspen several times a year and have typically had amazing dinning experiences. Our experience at Catch started when the pretentious hostage argued with me about our reservation. While we waited for our table to be ready, we headed to the bar to be ignored by the bartender. The bar back finally was willing to give us cocktails and when I asked the bartender for three additional cocktails. He ignored me, went back to the register printed my check and handed it to me. The wait staff seemed very disinterested in server our large party........... Never again.

Yelp
We had early reservations for a Saturday and were seated right away. A lovely table. The server did an excellent job explaining all the steak options -- its prodigious. My two guests opted for the Kobe waygu steak appetizers and raved about them. As I am a vegetarian I ordered the vegetarian chicken parm -- it was very good. Would have loved more vegetarian options but i know this is a meat eaters heaven. Drinks were good, service was consistent thru the meal. If you come I'd recommend early as the place fills up and gets quite loud. Cheers

Yelp
Simply one of the best overall dinners we have ever had. Very hard to get a reservation, but understand why when you experience the atmosphere and food. Highly recommend the truffle steak, Mac and cheese, asparagus and my wife says the bananas foster dessert was best dessert of her life. Good vibes too from all the staff.

Yelp
Over salty branzino- too oily spinach- waiter forgot my order and I waited too long. I think this is just common hospitality at catch restaurants because i experienced worse in miami

Yelp
We had reservations on a Sunday night and were pleased to be seated right away. The ambiance was warm and cozy, not very loud, and the staff was attentive. Food came out fairly quick. I had the salmon that was resting in a cauliflower puree and sauce, served with sautéed spinach and roasted potatoes. Every bite was D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! There was a basket of pretzel breadsticks with honey mustard, which was served hot and was very yummy. My cocktail for the night was the "On the side"; it was okay. Pretty pricey meal, but it was high quality and delicious.

Yelp
Incredible experience at the bar for dinner!! We had amazing cocktails, great service, amazing sushi and steak. I'm not sure why this place has such bad reviews. The ambiance is beautiful, we had an amazing time!
google avatar

Mackenzie G.

Yelp
This was one of the best meals I've ever had! The filet is cooked perfectly. The pasta is packed with the most amazing flavors and cooked to perfection. The creamed corn had us all hooked & the fries were delish!
google avatar

Yelp
Best steak I've had in town. There are a few spaces more intimate and a few with more staff but the food has been excellent on 3x visits.

Yelp
Had dinner here on a Tuesday night but we were very disappointed with the service. Sadly we were celebrating two anniversaries and we reserved a month in advance to avoid any hiccups. Host Ryan was great and did give us nice table although we had to wait maybe 15 minutes. Bar and drinks also great. Food overall good but service was not. Our server had too many tables and would disappear for a long while leaving us without plates for appetizers and flatware. We were here last year and because service was so great then we came back but not the case this year. We ordered a few appetizers first two came relatively quickly but sushi took almost an hour into our reservation. We had to ask server if it was still coming. Then once it did arrive we had no plates and server was nowhere to be found. He didn't check on us at all until we were done. We placed dinner order which also took very long again we had to ask why the delay and he had no clue. We know all restaurants this time of year are busy and some delays are expected but how the server handles that delay is what matters. At this point we didn't even want to stay for dessert so we paid and left. We truly regret coming here on such a special occasion when we could have gone to one of the many other options in town. We won't be returning.

Kelsey J.

Yelp
Best steak I've ever had. Everything was absolutely amazing. Catch Steak Martini with stuffed olives is a must get and loved the presentation. Wagyu Beef Carpaccio was so flavorful, capers were the perfect touch. Hamachi Crudo was buttery. And then the Filet with truffle butter was perfect cooked with a crispy outside. Whipped mashed potatoes are a MUST GET. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu here.

Nick K.

Yelp
Appears to be a nice restaurant but had to wait over 30 minutes when we had a reservation only to watch locals walk-ins be seated ahead of us without a reservation. The host was a smug prick and completely indignant. Reminder some common courtesy goes a long way.
google avatar

Crystal H.

Yelp
This was our second time at Catch Steak in Aspen, and it really solidified our conflicting feelings regarding the restaurant. While the food is good, the service is pushy and the ambiance is mediocre. The steak was well seasoned though a bit on the rare side (ordered medium rare), while the branzino was incredibly light and flavorful. The croquettes are always a favorite of the table, as well. However, our server, Steven, continually insisted that we order pricier items on the menu, ranging from starters such as the caviar to desserts. He even only gave us the option between sparkling and still water, omitting tap water as an option and forcing us to pay $45 just for water. Overall, although the food is good, a better dining experience could be found elsewhere in Aspen.

Marybelle M.

Yelp
Frequent diner of West Hollywood and nyc location. For was 4 out of 10. Very disappointed. Service was very very slow. And food was just ok.
google avatar

Brian S.

Yelp
Came for dinner on a Thursday at prime dinner hour. The style is intimate, with a large bar area, and saloon style booth seating. A nice mix of the beautiful young crowd and older regulars. We had ranch waters that were well mixed. The jumbo shrimp weren't quite as jumbo as were accustomed to but delicious none the less. Our server was attentive and genuinely enjoyed explaining the menu. The wagyu filet with truffle butter was prepared perfectly. The creamed spinach was indulgent while the asparagus had a hint of lemon and very crisp. Finished it off with the coconut cream cake which came with a side of gelato. Definitely a necessary dinner spot in Aspen!

Bentlee S.

Yelp
Amazing service amazing food amazing customer support and good quality food. Me and my friends love the area and ambience of the restaurant.

Yelp
Sat at the bar and had dinner. Nice ambience -- but feels coastal, not really a mountain steakhouse vibe. Pleasant though. Like most "scenes" the food isn't as good as the atmosphere, and you're paying for the brand. *Blue crab roll was excellent. Best thing I had. Small portion though for $26. *Sizzling shrimp. These were very good. I thought these came with a lobster sauce -- the sauce was more like a spicy marinara to me. Very good shrimp/prawns, cooked perfectly. *Truffle filet. The highlight of a steakhouse should be the meat? Not here. Ordered it medium (more on that below) and it was cooked unevenly. Flavor from the truffle butter was great. The actual meat quality seemed off-- the meat was sinewy. Chewy-- hard to swallow. This filet didn't seem like it was prime or center cut, and for $62 ala carte it should be. It was tough. More like a sirloin from a fast-casual joint. For an 8oz filet this is as expensive as it gets (if not some kind of wagyu). This one ranks in the very bottom of high end steakhouse steaks I have had. I can make a better filet at home (or several for this price.) *Mashed potatoes. Very good. Resemble Pomme Aligot, for those who know what that is. But not cheesy. Annoyed they don't do bread here. Just their special pretzel bread for $14. I wanted my steak cooked "medium rare push" which is a normal request. Was told they can't do that. It is just adding a little extra time to medium rare, but they won't do that for you here. At least not for me. I also wanted to start with some appetizers then decide on my main course later. Sitting at the bar didn't think this would be a problem. Like the steak temperature request, it was a problem. All or nothing, and you get one shot to order (it wasn't busy.) To be fair, they did time the courses perfectly. Which is a plus, as this rarely happens anywhere. All of their wines I asked about were open the day before-- the one I settled on seemed off, but was drinkable. Also had some sake with my sushi. I prefer sake to be served from a Tokkuri and Ochoko, especially for $24. Not here. Served in a little wine glass. Staff was nice -- and friendly, welcoming. Everyone was great. Expected better, especially for the price. Paying for the scene and the brand. Disappointing special requests can't be accommodated, at least for me. I would return for the blue crab roll, but there are also some great sushi places in Aspen, so would be hard justifying a return just for that.

Yelp
Catch Steak - Aspen is the latest extension of The Catch Hospitality Group extended their reach to Aspen. This location is one of the more spacious restaurants in Aspen. With grand views of Aspen Mountain, the fabulous interior and fun atmosphere create an energized romantic vibe. Instead of a heavy and traditional steak house vibe, Catch Steak Aspen creates a more lively, animated, and easy vibe. This is just one of the reasons it has become a hotspot. The other reason, and likely the main reason Catch has become a hotspot, is of course for the expected great food. The playful presentation of each appetizer immediately gets serious with each bite -- seriously good! My recommendation is to share the items you order, it almost seems the dishes are styled to be sharable. The appetizers and small dishes are the highlights of the menu. The next time I go, I likely will focus on the delectably savory starters and create a complete meal with the small bites.
google avatar

Courtney L.

Yelp
Definitely a good place if you're into scenery. I was a little bit disappointed with the prices, the portions, the acoustics, etc.
google avatar

Frank M.

Yelp
You just can't get a better meal - Checks every box - cool bar, great people - cool scene - just gotta go! Once again we had the "cap of the rib-eye" - tastiest steak ... ever!!! Best Steak!!!! Simple spinach side about perfect!!! The "Twice as nice" sushi roll was outstanding - great drinks!!! Super fun bartenders, pax and Adam ... and the best Som in town, Miles ... this is just a great restaurant in every way!!! A+++ people - food - everything!!!

Yelp
The ambiance and food great but service is horrible. They forgot some of the items we ordered and the food took a little long to come out.

Robert F.

Yelp
The ambience (lighting, furniture, music) was great. The staff was attentive but slightly arrogant? The food was good, but not great, especially compared to the price. Overall, Catch is the Range Rover of steak restaurants. High price tag, slightly pretentious, and mediocre quality. Kinda like a lot of things in Aspen

Vincent H.

Yelp
Sadly, the most chaotic dining experience in recent memory. From start to finish, the server mistakes, bad attitudes, and disorganization were unbelievable. Nothing short of herding guests like cattle. It was THAT bad. Manager Tracy was of no help and full of sarcasm. Clearly there is an issue with hiring the right people and training here.

Strphanie D.

Yelp
I went to Catch on Valentine's Day. I live in Aspen and I was excited to go there for Valentines Day. How disappointed I was. I arrived and was told we were being seated in the lower level. That level is a private room. NOT the regular restaurant. I told the manager I did not want to sit there and that I was not told ahead of time that I would be seated in the lower level. I was told I had no choice. If I didn't want to upset u husband I would have walked out. I will not be back. Sometimes the food is not the only review. It's how you're treated.
google avatar

Jake D.

Yelp
This place gets two stars because of the food and that's it. Service was not great like one would expect from a fancy over priced restaurant. Waiter asked what drinks we would like and came back 20 minutes later with our $6 cokes. We watched 3 tables get up and leave while we were in the restaurant. Not sure why they left but I did over hear one guy complain about waiting for service. That shouldn't happen at a restaurant that has 100 employees walking around. Manager seemed pushy and also choosy of who he talked to about how their meal was. Overall this place survives because it's in Aspen and the tourism will keep it afloat. Would never survive in an actual city.
google avatar

Bbykells ..

Yelp
Hostess was friendly. We were seated at a cramped table. Noise level was very high. Before settling into the seats while removing our jackets the waiter asked us what cocktail he could bring us. No smiling or Introductions from the waiter. We hadn't had any time to look at the menu. We were rushed. About fifteen minutes went by before the waiter returned and we were gathering our jackets because we had decided to leave. He was too late. Unfortunate. So many other fabulous options in Aspen.

Terri P.

Yelp
This was a wonderful experience. We were with a group of 10 and the service and food was all handled really well. Sometimes with a larger party you can feel a bit neglected but not here. I am a steak eater but I absolutely loved the Dover Sole. And some of their unique appetizers. There was a rice cake with sashimi on top that was so good. And of course you can't go wrong with the steak options. And oh desert... so good. As some of the other reviews have mentioned, this is a lively place and can get a bit loud but we all found it to be quite fun.

Sara S.

Yelp
When Catch Steak first opened, we loved going to the restaurant. The manager, Richard, does an excellent job but the restaurant is so loud, one cannot even hear their own thoughts. The food is good but if you have any desire to talk with your friends, you will need to yell in order for anyone to hear what you're saying. Perhaps sitting outside presents a better option but the threat of rain sometimes does not allow the restaurant to use the outdoors. The sushi rolls are excellent, the cocktails are divine but I think the atmosphere is so chaotic and noisy, it is difficult to enjoy the meal.

Kelly P.

Yelp
What a great experience! The service is incredible. Every staff member made my husband and I feel special. Our meal was delicious and their specialty cocktails are fantastic. Be sure to try their Blue Cheese Creamed Spinach, Truffle Butter Filet and Cowgirl Ribeye. You won't be disappointed. The atmosphere is elegant and comfortable.

Yelp
First time to Catch Steak Aspen. I loved it. Been to the one in LA many times. Love the outdoor portion here. With viees of the mountains. Food was delicious. Service was amazing. Would come back again for sure.

Yelp
One of the best meals we've had in a long time. Himachi is a must. Delicious flavors. We shared a couple of rolls and a steak. Sit at the bar for really special service!

Yelp
The worst service in aspen goes to ...drum roll... Catch steakhouse! We were really excited for the new hip spot in town as we frequent the staples in aspen. However, I would recommend sticking to aspens original spots. We had no clue who our server was since we waited 45 min for one. Our steak was cooked improperly and then just brought over 25 min later after it was put on the grill for a bit longer. The place has a lot of potential as the ambiance is a different pace in aspen. However, I would not recommend due its low level of service. Your time is worth somewhere else, trust me.
google avatar

Megan G.

Yelp
I've enjoyed every meal that I've had at Catch Steakhouse. First, and most importantly, my steak was cooked properly every time. This is pretty normal for steak houses, yet not true for every single one. There's a great ambience, lots of music and energy and many different choices depending on what you're looking for. Great spot in Aspen, one of my favorites.

Yelp
The two stars are for the manager, Madison, who tried to correct the poor food execution and service. First server was non existent at the beginning. Another server took our orders. Ordered a porterhouse medium rare and came out medium well on one side and well done on the order. Manager agreed and fired up another porterhouse. Second steak came out blue and almost cold in the middle. So first one was over cooked and second one was barely cooked. Four other people at our table ordered different steaks and they were all cooked perfectly so clearly they know how to cook steak but not the porterhouse. Needless to say it was a disappointment as this was one of two dinners that I was looking forward to. Neither steak was charged and they gave us another round of sides and a cake in the house. They tried to make it good but was still disappointing. Throughout all of this our server was nowhere to be found. Not sure if he thought because the manager was handling it so that meant he never had to come back. Definitely would not go back.

Kristi L.

Yelp
The food quality at Catch Steak is good - not great. The steak for 3 -$175- was chock full of silver skin. We could have lived with that and still had a nice time. But... two individuals in our party of five had seats that were repeatedly hit hard - like 15 times each - by the servers. Not the guests ... but servers. They would bump our bodies and our chairs and not a single apology to either of us. Upon leaving - after settling check so not seeking freebies - stopped at host stand to tell them it was a problem and the two females there (informed one was a manager) couldn't have cared less. Actually, the manager started to listen but then ran off to do something while I was mid sentence. Would never go back - there are other steak places in town with higher quality steak and much better service. These people didn't care about our experience at all.

Yelp
I've been to steak houses all over the country but this restaurant was by far the best place I've ever eaten at. The steak was Fantastic, the flavors were amazing. And the service was excellent. I can't say enough great things about Catch Steak.

Yelp
First time leaving a review- unfortunately Catch Steak called for it. Overall- The experience was unfortunate and subpar for the price tag associated with a meal here. The good: The two stars are only for drinks + ambiance. The drinks were amazing, refreshing, and innovative. The ambiance was incredibly fun && decor is beautiful. Maybe coming here for drinks only is the way to go. The Bad: If you advertise that you are a higher quality restaurant than I expect that. Our steaks and pasta were at best mediocre- quality and taste. The server was nice but very slow. We left a generous gratuity despite the flaws and incredible disappointment. However, $431 is appalling and not at all worth the experience. Unless you are only going for the drinks- there are many other great restaurants nearby that actually work to earn your business in every aspect- reward them with your business, not here.

Yelp
Finally!! A real legit steak house comes to Aspen. We had a fantastic meal last night! The apps were stellar , great salmon , the A5 was totally legit, and the bone in rib-eye perfect. Fantastic drinks and desserts. David Richardson the general manager ( from Mats also well run) is a pro and appreciates your business. Wait staff well trained and NO bad attitude ! Also great Vibe going on and crowd and the space is arguably one of the best in Aspen. We are local half the year and if your from a major city , you will have good comparisons to find this rates at the top and not just the current overpriced , poor service , bad attitude theoretical "steak joint " currently we were stuck with in Aspen. Our friends are their several times over last few week with good experience too. The Klein family will be back. Thanks David!
