My husband and I adopted our beautiful and very spicy ( tortie) cat from here and fell in love with the whole experience. The amount of care they provide their cats is very apparent . They have rules for entering their space to respect the needs of the cats and safety of visitors. When interested in adopting, the process was super detailed with inquiry ( as it should be). And it made me feel a lot more confident with my decision. You’re also able to foster through the heart and soul foundation which they are aligned with . Fostering is always needed and can be a massive benefit for you to figure out if you want to adopt or not. Overall, a great experience. The staff is wonderful , super accommodating and very friendly 💛😻

Clean, affordable, cute, the shop is my favorite. I used to work in an law corporation office at the shopping mall, and I would leave really late sometimes... and there was a cat or two always looking through the window, everyday, while working here they made my days better. I came after 3 years, it's still the same adorable place, excellent service.

Absolutely loved my visit to this charming cat café! 🐾 The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing, with soft music and warm lighting that made it feel like a little escape from the city. The cats were friendly, well cared for, and full of personality—each one had its own charm! 🐱 The staff was welcoming and attentive, making sure both guests and kitties were comfortable. I really appreciated the cleanliness and calm vibe throughout. The drinks and snacks were also delicious—perfect pairing for some kitty cuddles. If you’re a cat lover or just looking for a unique, heartwarming experience, this place is a must-visit. Can’t wait to come back again soon!

Google
Absolutely fun experience to go with a friend or two! I really enjoyed the whimsical kitties and how calm the space was, being able to interact with the cats overall had been positive. Would come again! <3

Google
Great staff, cute cats! The cats are so sweet and calm, you’re not allowed to pick them up but that doesn’t ruin the experience, they jump right into your lap. ✨🥰 I even got a hair roller at the end for the perfect experience! ❤️ 100% Recommend!

Google
Catfé is a cozy place for people to spend time with well-cared-for, adorable cats. It’s evident that the employees really care for the kitties and look after the space. I have been a proud supporter since around 2019, and despite the passing of years, the café has remained as the lovely place it has been for so long now- I truly hope it has many years ahead of it :) For visits, reservations are strongly recommended as although they accept walk-ins, once the maximum amount of people have reserved/gone in, you will likely have to come back another day or be moved down an hour- so make sure you reserve online if you can! Once there, an employee (cat whisperer) will give a quick rundown of rules, and then you will be let in the cat area at your designated hour. Outside, you can order drinks, small snacks, or purchase other goodies (stickers, pins, cat toys, etc)- if you order drinks, they’ll be brought to you when you’re in the cat area! Going into the cat space requires a ticket of around $16.75/person (price with tax), but the outside space is free to go into and look around. Cats here have a whole range of personalities! Depending on when you go, the cats might be a little sleepy, but usually there’s always at least one cat who’s down to hop around and chase toys. The cat space has baskets to put your belongings in, features many cat trees and little hiding spots, and has toys you can use to play with the cats! Some cats can be a little shy, and don’t mind being looked at but may not want a lot of touch- just make sure to heed the employee’s guidance on respecting the animals :) On a wall, information about each cat is featured, with adoption fees if you’re looking to adopt!! There’s also a separated, smaller room for cats who have not adjusted to the main area yet, or simply need a private space- make sure to give some love to those cats too. When it gets busy, sometimes it can feel a little crowded, and it can be difficult to get some one on one time with a cat- so if you desire a more private experience, the little isolated room is a great option, along with simply booking on non-busy days and hours. **Do not expect to be able to pick up the cats, or do anything forceful. That type of behaviour is heavily discouraged, so if you bring kids.. just make sure they don’t provoke any scratching or biting! Take it slow with the cats and don’t expect them to be all over you.** All in all, Catfé, along with their sister branch the Bunny Café, and Catoro (an unassociated but also great cat café in another part of Vancouver), are amazing spots to support, and great for relaxed hangouts/dates!!

Google
I had so much fun! I originally booked my time slot for 12, thinking there would be some shops to explore in the mall where the Catfe is located, unfortunately there wasn't much I was interested in. So I went to the Catfe and asked one of the girls there if I could join the 10 am group instead of at 12, and it was totally fine since they weren't too busy. You can order some snacks and drinks that they'll bring to you once it's ready. Great little cubby system for all your stuff if you're traveling. The cats were great and adorable! Some cat fights here and there amongst each other but nothing too serious. I would definitely visit again ☺️ (P.S. I think the Catfe should look into getting reusable cat cups that look like the one I was given, soo cute 😍)

Google
It was such a fun experience, there’s lots of merchandise to choose from like cat toys, jewelry, bags, etc. I didn’t try the drinks or snacks, but I heard they were good from a few others while I was there. Most of the kitties were pretty tired while I was there, but they loved being pet while having a cat nap oddly enough. Overall, definitely visiting again😸

Yelp
I arrived with no appointment on Thursday at 11:55am and they had space to let my son and I take the 12-1pm time slot. All the staff were wonderful - great at answering question and welcoming. The space is quite large for the number of cats and guests. It's also clean and well maintained. My son enjoyed reading about each cat after he pet or played with it. His favorite was Elmo, a black cat. The indoor plaza that Carfe is in has Chinatown on one side, and the edge of the stadium neighborhood on the other end. The Chinatown side is abut more dicey, but still okay (we left through that entrance/exit to go get some staples from Chinatown). If you have no need to go to Chinatown, I'd use the Keefer Place entrance, especially with younger kids.

Yelp
SO CUTE. Such a nice place to adopt a cat from. Or even just go visit if you're feeling the need for some kitty love. You need to make a reservation and I think it's around $16? Well worth the cost in my opinion. It gets you around an hour with the cats. They have a great gift shop too! I've been looking for an outdoor mat forever now, and they just happened to have some cute doormats. Cat shaped of course!

Yelp
I've gone to the Catfe several times but have never tried any of their food or drinks. I come solely for cats! Your visit really just depends on the personality of the cats when you visit! The staff always provide really good service. There's a handy handwashing station at the entrance. Lots of cat toy options to use. The ambiance is very casual, cozy, and clean. It's a little hot in there when the sun is out so beware--it's very exposed due to the large windows. You can easily cool down in shaded areas though. When I came at 1pm, a lot of the cats seemed really sleepy--it must have been siesta time! Most of the cats were really relaxed and didn't run away when you came up to them to pet them. One even sat in my lap for a few seconds before rascaling out. Overall, this place is great for my purposes--cat therapy lol. Not the best cat cafe in Vancouver though.

Yelp
Wanted to pet some cats so we came here. What a fun concept of interacting with the cats, having some coffee, and just relaxing. I had a chai latte and it was a decent cup of coffee. But the most fun was getting to play with the little cats. I also bought some stuff to take back to my daughters as they are cat crazy. It's a little expensive to get in since you have to pay to play with the cats. But it's for a good cause

Yelp
Went there a couple of weeks ago with my cousins and had a great time! The place is very clean and there are many measures in place to ensure that every customer is washing their hands so that the cats remain clean. Truly appreciate that! The staff were very nice and took the time to explain the background of all the cats. The area was spacious enough for all customers to enjoy and their timeslots ensure that all customers have enough time without overcrowding the place. One thing I would say is that they don't have a lot of options for food and the food that we did get, we were not able to eat properly because cats would surround it and we would have to move it around. I guess that is expected being a cat cafe! Overall, a must visit :)

Yelp
In our search for a cat to adopt, I thought it would be fun for my husband and I to check out the Catfe and spend some time interacting with multiple cats all at once. (In truth, I thought it would be a neat experience, even if we didn't find any cats we wished to adopt). Online reservations may be done through their website, and spots can sell out fast for the prime time reservations. After arriving at the location and seeing the small space of the entire Catfe, I can appreciate their need to encourage people to make reservations. You can show up ahead of time and place your order of drinks/snacks that will be delivered to you once you are inside the cat portion. Personally I was hoping they would have more cost effective drink and snack options, but I didn't dare ask if we could go inside without paying for food. Each time slot is roughly 50 minutes long, and you are given instructions by the friendly "Cat Whisperer" on duty. They will lay out the basic ground rules for how to interact with the cats and be there to answer any questions you may have about the cats up for adoption. We went in the evening, and all the cats were either hiding/napping in the little cubby holes, or stretched out on the counters and very much used to human presence. The Cat Whisperer did his best to let us know which cats may be a good fit for us, but my husband and I both felt like this was not our preferred venue to look for adopting a cat. We probably came during the peak times and while the cats were napping, but we found it incredibly hard to get a good sense of any cat's personality, when so many humans were vying for their attention. It would be a great unique date, don't get me wrong, but my advice is if you are looking to adopt a cat from the Catfe, find a way to come during the slow hours, do your research on which cats are available for adoption (a list is on their website), and ask to see if one-on-one meetings are available.

Yelp
Such a cute cafe doing great work for Vancouver's kitties in need of homes. The interior of the cat cafe was well lit, cutely decorated, and had lots of space for cats and people alike. There is a cute boutique with drinks, food, and cat-themed gifts. The cats were a bit sleepy when we visited at noon, but we still got to pet them and even enjoyed some playtime. The adoption costs seemed high compared to other shelters and cat cafes I've visited, but considering you'd get a well socialized, healthy, and fixed cat, as well as support a great adoption initiative, it'd be well worth it.

Malena P.

Yelp
Nice place, the cats are very cute and some of them adoptable. The staff is nice too.

Yelp
I got to pet cute cats and buy some food and drinks for a decent price. The girl that was managing in the play area was great.

Yelp
This was a great cat cafe! Went June 2022 Every city we go to that's bigger than home(anchorage AK) we look up cat cafes! This one is in downtown Vancouver over by the Costco. It's in a not so great mall that has little other to do but it's in a great location with lots of south side windows that let in a lot of sun! I made a reservation one day in advanced online thru their website. I think they were limiting the number of people in at one time. There were 8 of us total. They have a little shop where you can buy treats and coffee that you can bring inside the cat area with you. They have so much cute cat merch. Inside the cat room, there were cats everywhere! Some of them sleeping in the nice sun (who wouldn't be!) there were several playing with toys too. A few cats would jump right into your lap and one perched it's front legs up on my shoulder like he was giving me a hug! There was one lady working in the room and she knew about all the cats but was in there cleaning in case anyone had questions or something. They are all about adopting out the cats so I was happy to support that. It was about 13$ per person which is not bad! There were tons of sleeping quarters, shelves on the walls that the cats climb on and thru, and tons of toys! I feel this place has improved from the bad reviews that I had read(after I went) I feel they take great care of the cats and had a lovely set up.

Yelp
We've arrived without a reservation on a weekday and the clerk was kind enough to immediately check us in and explain how it works. We absolutely loved the experience! Some of the braver cats immediately came to greet us, while some sleepy heads took the time to wake up ~ but allowed us to kindly pet them! The staff brought our drinks inside the cat area and we enjoyed them while petting the little ones and seeing them play. We were surprised how clean the area was for a place that houses over 20 cats! The cats look happy and well taken care off :) Honestly I am a bit troubled by the negative reviews below. Some folks are complaining about the cats not wanting to play with them. We are talking about animals here! Common!

Yelp
I love this place so much. It was so cute there! I would recommend especially if you are cat person. The macaroons there were so delicious . I can tell that the workers love their job. The workers were so nice.

Yelp
**Catdads and cat moms beware!! This place is just too adorable!** I went here with my friend Lydia on Feb24th (Monday) and finally kept my promise. I kept my promise bringing her to Catfe and the day finally came. We both paid $10 for admission and my pal spent around $20 including admission, coffee and muffin. We had a blast since it was a slowest day of the week. Weekends are busy where customers are fully booked. Best part was playing with cats. Most of them were shy around people and few were playful. Great place to relieve stress. One tabby kept coming close to my pal and wanted bite of her food. They have toy mouse, laser pointer and other toys. The funniest part was seeing a feisty cat fighting with other cats and got food stolen by another cat LOL. We both had a blast here. We spent more than 2 hours it was more than enough. Like most visitors, we took tons of cat photos for memories. These cats really made us swoon. I wish we had a chance to feed cats too.

Yelp
Took my partner here for his birthday and we both loved it! The staff was really friendly and they were lots of cute kitties!! They have toys and beds and cubbies for the cats. We came early so they let us go in early which we appreciated!

Yelp
After checking this place out I was surprised to see some of the reviews here. This place delivered what's being advertised: happy cats and decent coffee. The staff was super friendly and very caring towards the cats. I also appreciated that you had to book a time slot; good system to avoid crowds overwhelming poor animals. The place itself appeared clean and it didn't even smell bad, despite the fact that they had 20+ cats. The cats seemed relaxed and happy. Some were sleeping and avoided interacting with people, which is totally fine for animals. Can't believe some people left bad reviews "because bunnies didn't want to interact with me". They are animals. The world doesn't revolve around you. Good idea to encourage adoption as you can hang out with cats checking their personalities before making a decision to adopt. Oh and the coffee was good too. The admission fee was a bit pricey ($16), but makes sense given the expenses they must incur. Good vibes overall, recommend.

Yelp
Super fun way to spend a rainy afternoon! We had a great time. Entrance fees go towards the cats. Food and drink prices are average. It's a great way to get to know a potential cat before adopting. We really enjoyed our visit and would definitely go back.

Yelp
This is the cutest and most fun cat cafe I've ever been to. When you walk in, you can first purchase coffee, tea, pastries, and in our case, the admission ticket. We were visiting from out of town and decided last minute to stop by around 6pm so we hadn't had reservations from online. That being said, it wasn't an issue at all and they accommodated us very well. After purchasing a few macaroons, we made our way and joined the rest of the customers and the CATS! Each one was so sweet and playful in their own way. However, because it was the end of the day I believe most of them were just tired because some did not want to be pet or played with, which is totally fine. I myself have a cat and know that you must always respect their space. Please remember to do that when you visit!
google avatar

EG C.

Yelp
Came with a friend to check this place out. It definitely is cheaper than what they offer in the states. We came around 7:30 and paid for an hour, so most of the cats were tired and sleeping, but there were still enough semi-active cats to still enjoy the experience. If you're thinking, cats swarming to you, wanting to cuddle and play....this is not it. Usually cats will stick to themselves, but if you just like looking at cats and being near them, this will be an enjoyable experience Altogether, its a appropriate price, and you'll probably get about an hours worth of enjoyment from it.

Evolved E.

Yelp
The staff was very sweet, very helpful. I didn't try any food items, but I had a hot tea. There is a time limit, but on a slow day they let me stay extra! I felt very welcomed the whole time.

Yelp
I love cats! It's great that they team up with the SPCA to get all the cats adopted! The barista is a chill grad student and a cat enthusiast. I love that the drinks are all cat themed and the gift shop has tons of cat themed goodies available for purchase. I got a hot chococat and a cute ring. I was informed by the barista that a portion of the proceeds goes to the SPCA. In Hawaii, we have cat pop ups and those usually run $7 for half an hour, so the Catfe prices are great! It's $5 with a purchase otherwise, $8 for admission. I'm very happy that the cats are friendly and actually want to interact with you! If I lived in Vancouver, I would definitely adopt at least one or two cats or frequently visit. We have such a huge cat fan base in Hawaii, we are desperately in need of one. Thank you for reading my reviews! Let me know what I should try next!
google avatar

Celina L.

Yelp
Came to see if there was a suitable cat for adoption. Obviously overpriced for what it is (just playing with cats) but it probably goes towards the cats and maintaining the facility so that's fair. Not sure if there are ever down times but it was so busy when we went and so many little kids running around and honestly just being annoying LOL it was very difficult to actually get to spend time with the cats to see if they would be suitable for adoption. Everyone was pretty much fighting to hang out with a cat if they were free. I probably wouldn't go back

Yelp
My first visit to a cat cafe. I am a huge cat and dog fan plus I am a huge rescue supporter. This place it is recommended to reserve your time online to go. It is $8 entrance fee or $5 with a purchase. Making online reservations are really easy and I definitely recommend it. This location is really cool because it is located in the International Mall right in Chinatown on the second floor. They have a few sweet kitty related treats plus a drink selection (non-alcoholic). When I came in I was hoping for a huge room filled with kitties. It was a spacious room but not filled with kitties. There were a few wandering a around or sleeping. Not bad and very different from what I expected. All of their cats come from the SPCA, a rescue and are adoptable. Every Thursday they get new cats. On the wall is are pictures and bios of each kitty. I am totally supportive of this idea. It gives you a chance to get to know a cat before committing to them. I love the idea and each entry gets you an hour play time. But I will put it out here, don't expect to play with cats for an hour. Most of them might not pay too much attention to you. Think of this place more as a place to go, sit down, play some board games, talk with some friends, chill with the option of the occasional to play with. Also consider the time of day, cats are more active at certain times so if you come during nap time then just expect to chill.
google avatar

Kate F.

Yelp
This place is awesome! It's a pretty, hip cafe with adorable treats and cat themed goodies. All of the cats are up for adoption with the SPCA and because they control how many people are there through reservations, you are guaranteed some one on one time with cute kitties. People who rated this place low did so because they a) didn't realize you should make a reservation or b) thought this was some sort of cat circus situation where the cats should entertain you. They're cats so they're going to sleep over half the day, that's just what they do. If you want to see animals do tricks for your amusement, this is not the place for you. That being said, the cats tend to be more active in the morning so keep that in mind when making a reservation!
google avatar

Yelp
Cute, but small cat cafe in International Village Mall. We stopped in hoping to get to play with the cats, only to find out they were booked for the entire day. We got a cup of coffee and waited on the non cat side for a cancellation. Unfortunately after an hour of waiting, that did not happen. We did get to see the cats through the windows and we had a really good coffee and cat macaroon for the pastry bar. It a great idea, I only wish we knew we had to make reservations a day in advance to play with the cats.

Caroline C.

Yelp
This is an interesting business model. So you have to pay a fee to see cats and to drinks with cats. Ok..... The place is super small. Located upstair at a mall that is pretty much half empty (must be cheap rent) If you want to check the place out - you have to make an online reservation. I suggest going to SPCA for free instead.

Yelp
I really like this place compared to other cat cafés I've been to. Other establishments seem to often be completely packed with loud people and provide little room for the cats to be free and cozy, but the Catfé is different: cats come first here. There are strict rules about handling them and nice places for the cats to escape to if they're tired. The adoption angle is also really important, and the success they've had is heartening - the animals aren't here for our entertainment above all else, and as a cat lover I appreciate that. The entry cost coverage is a little high, sure, but I think that helps manage the quality of the environment, and I appreciate the extra expenses required to care for animals. The food and drinks are actually pretty good too - today I had a nice lavender mocha with a subtly novel flavour, and my sister had a good London fog and a nice little cheese scone. So all in all, a cute and novel way to engage with the animal adoption process, run by people who clearly care about the animals above all else. I like it, and I'm always glad to go.

Yelp
This was a few months back. I went to the Catfe to visit the cats, but did not buy any of the items sold at the cafe. I love a lot of animals and cats are no exception. I went down there for $10 to spend an hour with cats. That was pretty dope, since I don't own any pets. I went in during the late afternoon so a few cats were sleeping, but several were active and running around the place. I should add that there are rules while visiting the cats. They should be followed to create a pleasant and fun environment for both the cats and other guests. These rules are explained prior to entry. Overall, it was enjoyable because I never have been around cats that much but it only makes me wish I had one even more!

Yelp
My friends and I stumbled upon this place after seeing a movie at the theater one sunday afternoon. It's a curious location because most of the mall feels pretty abandoned however with floor to ceiling windows the space is perfect for a cat cafe. The price is very reasonable, only $8 for admission or $5 + a drink. I tried the lavender mocha which was good but definitely a strong flavor. We went in the evening, around 4pm and as noted on the sign, most of the cats were taking their afternoon naps. For me, it was worth it and if you go to a cat cafe you have to understand that you are paying to be in the presence of the cats, NOT to be able to necessarily play with or pet them. Cats are very temperamental creatures and so what bothers me are people who come to cat cafes and feel entitled to be able to grab the cats just because they paid money. This Catfe does a very good job of being non exploitative, offering the cats the ability to go to a private room if they aren't in the mood and with lots of good signage as well as an emphasis on adoption. I appreciate what they are doing to make sure that the cats are taken care of and prioritized. As such, i highly recommend this place if you are a cat lover! It's very roomy and well organized, plus there are a ton of different cats and even when most are sleeping there are still one or two who want to play or be pet. However, definitely go in with the expectation that you are paying to be able to take photos and be around a bunch of cats, not necessarily touch them.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this cute cat cafe during a visit to Vancouver. My two friends and I were very appreciative to the ladies here for being able to get us in as walk-ins at 1pm on a Sunday. I really wanted to love this place with it's cute name, cute cats, and cute food. However, the food was only okay, the cats were sleeping the entire time (save for the last 10 minutes of our visit), and everything ranged from just a tad overpriced to very marked up. I got an americano and the earl grey meow-caroon, both of which were good but did not stand out as great. I love the concept of a cat cafe, and would definitely want to come back and see the cats perhaps earlier in the day when they are not all sleeping.

Yelp
Best CatCafe in Vancouver. Great window views that you can enjoy. I'd bring a sketchpad and draw if you enjoy such activities :). All the negative comments seen to be from people who didn't reserve ahead of time. Just check online or call first before going. It's a popular place and they give break times where cats can rest without being bothered by us humans! Remember cats...are cats. Some don't want interaction, a select few will, and there will be human competition to play with them! They recommend if you want to see the kitties when they are most active to come in the morning. The food/coffee is okay. Nothing special. But the cat-themed gift shop is fantastic! I come in all the time just to browse the artsy cat cards! You can also buy CatCafe gift cards. The cats are well looked after, the place is clean with plenty of toys and places for them to hide in. :) I'd book the place for a birthday party!

Yelp
I hate giving one star to a cat cafe but it looks like my experience isn't even unique here. First, it's embedded inside a dying, almost entirely closed mall surrounded by homeless people and drug addicts. That wouldn't have stopped me, except the clerks who run the place are incompetent, inconsistent blathering idiots. I got here in the middle of a weekday after walking 30 minutes in the rain. The clerk told me I couldn't go in because they were full up for hours until the evening. I asked her if she could make an exception because I was from out of the country, had walked quite a distance to get here, there was no one in the cat area and I was only in town for another full day and it would be difficult to come back. She still adamantly said no, even though NO ONE was in the cat area (she said it was "nap time" but the cats were all running around chasing each other). Which... okay. I get that. You arrive somewhere, it's fully booked, you can't go in, those are the rules. I would have tried to make it back another time, maybe, with no hard feelings. Except, some lady WITHOUT a reservation walked in two minutes after the clerk told me I absolutely couldn't go in, and a different clerk IMMEDIATELY LET HER IN. So I told him that I had gotten there first without a reservation and the other clerk refused to let me in, and he just stood there bumbling and not knowing what to do or say, but neither clerk refused to make it right. Stop treating your customers differently, it's infuriating and a good way to permanently lose business. So I take one last look into the cat area and the cats have nowhere soft to sit and sleep. It looks like a post office inside with hard wood shelves and concrete. A few kittens are piled on top of each other in the only bed visible. The other cats are playing with each other on the hard floor while giant dust furballs are flying up into the air because no one is back there sweeping, they're too busy in the front denying people entry. We called the other cat cafe in Vancouver and they happily let us in. Should have just gone there first, what a waste of time.

Yelp
After hearing about a cat cafe in Vancouver I knew I had to go check it out. It was one of those spur of the moment decisions to go visit while wandering downtown one evening. Lucky for us they had room to squeeze us in. It was $5 entrance fee with a purchase of a drink from the cafe. It was a really neat experience seeing the adoption wall of all the cats that have found homes through the partnership with SPCA. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the cats looked happy. It was alot of fun just chillin with kitties while enjoying a cup of tea!

Yelp
My first time at Cat Café and I'm now a fan. I was a little worried, as there are a lot of negative reviews, so I was hoping that you would be able to get enough pets to make it worth the money. I was pleasantly surprised to find that when we visited at 1pm on a Sunday the cats were very friendly and the people to cats ratio was good (about 10-12 people for about 8-10 cats). I definitely recommend making a reservation on their website in order to ensure you don't have to wait for drop-in, as they clearly get pretty busy. The reservation system was super easy and they sent me email reminders the week in advance. They have the rule that you're not allowed to bother the ones that are sleeping, which I think is fair, so it might be a different experience if you show up later in the day and the kitties are tired. I think going earlier in the day might ensure a better visit. Also it's totally random who is in your time slot with you and this will affect the type of visit you have-we got lucky as there was only 1 kid and he was well behaved and the other people were very quiet and respectful. I felt the pricing was really very reasonable when you consider they are in downtown Vancouver, it's only $5 if you just want to visit the cats but you can also purchase drinks and food (with a bottle of water and entry it was only $8). I did not get food so I can't comment on that, but from what I could see they had some really nice treats. They also have a very cool store where you can buy all sorts of cute cat stuff like jewellery, purses, jams, and other misc stuff on both sides of the café. When you arrive and check-in for your 1 hour reservation you're asked to wait in store side until you're group is called. On the hour the groups trade out, so someone comes and get's your group and brings them over to the cat café side. Here you're given an orientation of about 10 mins of the rules of the cafe and how to interact with the cats (ie no picking them up, don't bother those that are asleep, no running or chasing the cats, photos without flash is ok, etc), all of which I think is really useful for visitors, and you're also asked to sign in and wash your hands. Once all of this is done you are free to roam about the café and interact with whatever kitties are around. The café area is very nicely decorated and spacious with some tables and chairs so you can spread out. The cats are all up for adoption so they have a wall where you can read each of their bios as well as a wall of pics near the entrance of past kitties that have found a home. Overall a very fun experience, I will go again for sure!

Yelp
My sister and I had a delightful time meeting the kitties at the Catfe today. I can't say enough about the kindness of the staff. They were welcoming of us, clear about the rules and watched over everyone to ensure the cats and humans were behaving themselves. The cats were lovely, playful and cuddly. When they were tired or not interested in anymore attention they turned their backs, curled up and closed their eyes. The group of humans who shared our reservation time were considerate of each others space. We ordered a latte and a chai latte - both were delicious.

Yelp
Hmm where to start.... For the last two times I've been on holidays in Vancouver I've went to Catfe and both times were an unbelievable experience. The staff are super friendly, the coffee and snacks are super high quality and delicious and of course the cats! Not only is Catfe a great place to go on a coffee date but it's also giving homeless cats a second chance. That's right folks all the cats are available for adoption! So whether you live in Vancouver or just there visiting make sure you stop in to pet some cats. However you do have to book ahead so make sure you go online to do so, so you don't miss out on a purrrfect experience.

Yelp
This was such a fun experience for me! I love cats at lot and was glad to come here and play for a bit, it was hard to leave without adopting someone! We came in the morning, so the kitties were out and active. The drinks were okay, I got a hot cocoa and my boyfriend got a catpuccino, complete with a kitty drawn in the foam. We also ended up purchasing a few collectible items. Definitely will be back when we come into town next!

Yelp
Overall - came here for bunny day and boy was it great. Lovely time engaging with the bunnies and staff. Upon admission, they give you a cup of veggies to feed the bunnies. The roam the area and the bunnies often just come right to you. Not sure how many people actually pet the animal, but the bunnies seem pretty happy. These were up for adoption and the staff were happily cleaning up after the bunnies and engaged with us, offering pillows and encouraged us to engage with different. Bunnies. Loved the experience. Hope that the bunnies all get adopted.

Yelp
So cute! So... precious! I've been to only one cat café before catfé, and I must say the experience definitely pales in comparison to this charming Vancouver location. It's located inside International Village Shopping Centre, on the second floor! It's where Cineplex is at, beside the Chinatown station on the Expo line. You can either buy a ticket and a drink (a little over $8) or just the ticket itself ($8), and you can peruse the abundance of baked goods and cat merchandise while you wait for your reserved time to arrive. There's a second room specifically for the cats, air conditioned (!!!), spacious and decorated prettily in the theme of cats. The merchandise is really quite pricey but so adorable! When we went to the catfé most of the cats were sleeping, but they are gentle enough for you to pet them. A lot of cats roamed around, and we got an hour with these cuties. I honestly want to go back again sometime! This is a lovely place to visit if you're ever in Vancouver.

Yelp
Severely underwhelming. While I love the concept of it and the fact that this is aiding in adoption, they tried to slot in too many ppl per reserved hour. The result is too many ppl compared to cats, and some very distressed cats that just want to hide. Cafe purchases are pricy, which is understandable to support the operation. The taste is decent and the designs are cute. Employee that signed us in and explained the rules looked annoyed and unenthusiastic, like she didn't want to be there. I really suggest for cat lovers to either visit a shelter or the Richmond Animal Protection Society's Cat Sanctuary (500+ cats!) to give those cats some much needed and much desired love. The poor Catfe cats just want to be left alone by visitors continuously trying to wake them up.

Yelp
This review is based on the customer service and two separate adoption processes over different years. I adopted a cat from here years ago. During the entire process from start to finish I was constantly told by various staff how much they HATED the cat I adopted. They would tell me how he keeps scratching them or causing them problems. Now I appreciate that they shared with me the struggles I will encounter giving the cat a home, but the tone, attitude, and constant negativity regarding the cat's behaviours was just flat out unprofessional. I don't need to hear how you hate him, how annoying he is, and how he makes your job hard. I would rather hear advice on how to deal with it. I almost walked out during the adoption process because of how unprofessional and rude the staff were, however I really loved the kitty and went through the full circle despite the staff not keeping their comments and critiques to themselves. My cat was completely different from the impression the staff had when I took him home. I want to point out if you think, speak, and act like a cat will attack you chances are they are going to be aggressive towards you. Animals can sense your attitude and mental state. If you are nervous around a dog the dog will pick up on that and get anxious too. That's why it's not advised to approach a stranger's dog without their permission. I think this key concept is what made my cat a loving family member. I came back a second time because there was another cat I was interested in adopting. I figured that the Catfe is not new anymore and therefore the staff and management should have improved, but Lo and behold. All I heard during the entire process about a completely different cat is how awful my cat was when he was residing at the Catfe. My advice to all the staff here and management is that it is fine if you don't believe in before and adoption stories... it's fine to be skeptical. However, I strongly do not appreciate how rude you were all when I wanted to adopt my first cat, and then dragging in how much you all hated him back in when I was looking for a second cat. In the end, my application was denied due to my first cat not being a fit with this new cat. I ended up going to a different adoption branch and they agreed with me that the attitude was unprofessional. The cat my family got matched up with was the exact same personality the cat I was interested in at the Catfe.

Yelp
I have mixed feelings on Catfe. Having been really excited for Catfe to open, I made a reservation for the first week. Understandably, there would be a few things that need to be tweaked. I arrived on time for my reservation. You start on the cafe side, where you order your drinks/snacks, and pay your entrance. This area felt a little crowed, with everyone arriving. In terms of the cafe, I liked the variety of baked goods (some even shaped like cats). I was disappointed to see take out cups being used, especially since you have an hour at catfe. One would think that amount of time would be enough to consume your drink in a reusable ceramic cup. After you've paid your entrance fee, you head over to the cat side. Here you are introduced to the rules of catfe (mostly common sense), you sign in and wash your hands. The catfe space it's self is beautiful. It's like a kitties dream! They have fantastic perches, a wonderful wall unit, kitty water fountains, toys, and ample kitty hiding places. For the humans, there are tables (large enough to gather with others), chairs, cat books & cat magazines. For each hour, 16 people can book a reservation (I think there is also space for 2 walk ins, but I could be wrong on that). On my visit, there were 5 cats. I would have thought there would be more cats, or less people. I think the part I disliked the most, was the other visitors. It was rather unsettling to see others persistently try to wake up the sleeping kitties or hover over kitties who were clearly trying to hide. I left half way through my allotted time. I really truly like the promotion of 'adopt don't shop', I like the space, and I so wanted to LOVE the idea of returning on a regular basis. But until there are less people, it just doesn't seem like a environment I want to partake it. Oh, and if you are looking for cat themed gifts, there is a cute gift shop with a variety of items.

Yelp
Honestly, what's not to love? It's a lovely, safe place for stray cats that can be adopted from the cafe. Entrance fee is $8 for an hour or $5 if u buy a coffee with it. They have rules in place to keep the cats comfortable, there's lots of toys, and you can just sit around and drink coffee while petting lovely cats. Some of them are so sweet and affectionate. My only problem is that there were not more cats to pet :) but that's because they get adopted, so it's worth it. They also sell some really good souvenirs, and the whole place is just cat puns galore. I love it.

Yelp
Catfe' 88 W Pender Street, 2nd floor. ( Call 778 379 0060 to confirm wheelchair access. ) International Village Mall, Vancouver. Wow just wow! So very glad the Wife suggested this warm fuzzy activity. Literally.   If I were a cat I'd never leave the Catfe'...such cool feline digs, all any Cat could long for. Spanning the entire length of two walls are cleverly constructed 'Cataminiums' built over the walls to allow purrfect ease of access from the top catacombs to the ground levels. There is def ample room for many cats here. All the natural sunlight flooding the Catfe' make it almost outdoors-like and quite natural for an office building, well designed for it's purpose. The furry adoptees spend their entire day however they choose and their Independence is encouraged and honoured. During our visit the kitties were peacefully napping but never too deeply as to not miss an opportunity for appreciated 'chin choppers' or just to make a brief appearance and allow humans to adore and worship them as they r accustomed to and then back to their required 18 hour siesta. Eat, sleep, purr repeat is the feline agenda at Catfe'. I also had my first Macaron today, the Catfe' version is called a 'Meowcaron' and it's spongey top and bottom were so fresh & soft! The velvety Earl Grey filling was buttery rich but not too sweet making it a welcomed contrast to my robust 'Catpuccino'. I scored some comfy cat socks with ears too! We absolutely loved the Cat merch throughout, not cheap but quality goods and so cute & unique. Every SPCA should have a Catfe'attached, what a fun elevating experience for both humans and felines, a true win-win. Cat kudos to Leona who's congenial enthusiasm was genuine and infectious as she assited us in cat-lore and navigating the Catfe'. Feeling drained...free parking for two hrs in the international  Village mall ( bonus )...small admission fee....huge payoff for u. So worth it. Money well spent. We will so be back from r another dose of feline frivolity. Go...it's good for ur soul. Appy Trails Brianm foodieatlarge.yelp.ca

Yelp
FIVE STARS for supporting local shelters to find these kitties forever homes. There were 8 cats when we went last night and all of them had pending adoptions, yay! Careful of overstimulation, some of these guys don't like their backs touched - head pats are good enough. We were quite entertained by one psycho cat, full of energy, running all over the place and trying to steal people's food. Cute! TWO STARS for the actual café part. Very slow service and quite dis-organized. It took about 15 mins for us to order and receive our teas (with only 2 other pairs in front of us in line.) Lots of room for improvement here, but otherwise a very pleasant experience with the kitties.

Yelp
I was excited when I found out Vancouver has a Catfe because my dad is a BIG cat lover with no cats of his own so this place would be perfect for him. The appointments are usually all booked up in lighting speed so be sure to check for appointment spot at least 1 month ahead. Plus, Catfe seems to have a high rate of cat adoption so they do run out of cats frequently. The concept is definitely likable --- non-traditional shelter to allow cat lovers and kids to have a place to play with cats. My dad was really excited about this while I was really excited about how I'm labeled as the thoughtful child. We arrived at the cafe 30 minutes early because I didn't realize foods are allowed in the cat lounge (you must buy your admission ticket at the cafe first and I wanted to have time to drink my coffee slowly). The coffee was alright but the banana loaf was SO.GOOD: rich yet not too sweet, flavourful but not too too banna-y (i'm not a big fan of overly bananay flavoured desserts) and the texture was solid but soft at the same time --- it was like a fluffy banana loaf, not feathery banana cake. They also have Hello Kitty macarons and cute kitty cupcakes to choose from. Obviously everything is $$$$$$$ there. I'm going to assume that they need money for rent and to paid staff as a non-profit. Moving on to the cat lounge... The interior is spacious, has a nice set up and it's pretty much a funland for cats. Cat toys are provided for your convenience. I made an appointment at 3 so we can take our time to get there after lunch --- which later turned out to be somewhat of a mistake. Walk-in was opened at 3:10PM and there was just too many people, too little cats (there were about 5-6), not to mention that 99% of the cats didn't really want to interact with the visitors. They were all pretty much taking naps or simply didn't want to deal with strangers who they have never met and probably will never see again, and this is a huge let down. 3PM was probably their time to nap. I get it that these cats/kittens aren't there to entertain humans and it would be wrong to assume that they have to --- but it was definitely disappointing when the experience wasn't like how you imagine it would be. I foresaw some cats to be unavailable due to napping but didn't expect ALL of the cats to be like that. You are really just sitting there to look at the cats while you drink your coffee. Surely enough my dad was very disappointed and we left our 1 hour appointment 30 minutes early; the lounge was getting more crowded too. All in all, I'm not saying don't go. I'm saying support local shelters but do know that cat and human interaction isn't guaranteed if that's what you were hoping for. The admission fee is $8/person, $5/person if you make a purchase at the cafe. Free parking is available as Catfe is located in International Village (2nd floor) for 2 hours.

Yelp
I am SUPER happy and excited that there is now an up and running "Catfe" here in Vancouver!!!! The idea that these kitties are being so well taken care of in a nice space is amazing. So much better than being locked up in cages or behind glass in some crappy store in a mall (AHEMMetrotownAHEM). This is a far better alternative. And the fact that you can also adopt these kitties is amazing, since they are coming from the SPCA. But I must say.... I had higher expectations of how the place would run.. overall.. Maybe since I had visited one previously in South Korea. Even with having a reservation, the line to get in was..... quite slow....... Understandably, since the place did just open.... But perhaps for the people who don't necessarily want to purchase a drink or snack, could get through faster by just purchasing their entry ticket on the right side (where the cats live) rather than the left (the cafe side). It's really slow waiting in line and waiting for everyone to decide what the want and how they want it and what they have on the menu when all you want to do is get into spend time with the cats.. Especially considering there is only an hour window for visiting. By the time everything was said and done, with an appointment made ahead of time, I was only able to be there for about 40 mins.. I'm hoping the Catfe can do a little more research for the future into running a more smooth and seamless service. The one I visited in Korea worked like this.... You enter the facility, wash you hands and remove your shoes and put on some slippers before entering the actual "Catfe". Then, upon entering, there is a counter where you purchase your ticket (which is about $8-9). This purchase includes your entry fee AND a drink. Pretty sweet deal. Nice and easy too. No separate lines and waiting. Just good for thought maybe. In the end, I'm just happy it's here. And the kitty merch is pretty darn amazing. ********P.S. Better seating!!!!!! The tables are quite large inside and can easily add an additional 2-4 more chairs per table. I found it awkward standing around at times while everyone was sitting and most of the cats are sleepy so nothing really to do but stand around like a creep waiting to pounce on the cats. Hahahaha.

Yelp
My friends and I came here for a quick fix. We love cats! Cue the "I Love Cats" song: https://youtu.be/sP4NMoJcFd4 The Catfe was difficult to find, since the address given was for a sad looking mall. (I hate malls) I was happy to be with a local who helped us figure it out, as we were running late for our appointment. Speaking of appointments, you should make one if you're planning on visiting with others. They only allow 16 people inside hourly. Walk-ins are welcome if they have the space. They were kind enough to let the three of us in, even though I could only manage to reserve a spot for one person. We paid the fee, and each grabbed an Orangina on our way in. We had to wash our hands at the entry and read the rules. The space was clean and full of natural light, with plenty of room for these cats to spread out. One cat had a little tent by the windows. So cute! These cats are living the life! Most of the cats were napping while we were there. We were allowed to get up close to them and say hello, but let them enjoy catnapping. If we were in the market for another baby, we would have taken Mr. Whiskers home with us. He was adorable! After reading about this place, I found out that we have a similar place in Portland, called Purringtons Cat Lounge.  I'll report back.

Yelp
This review might be a little biased based on the fact that it's where I adopted my beautiful little girl, Witley, but I love spending my time here at the Catfe. The location isn't great - it's right in the heart of Chinatown where a lot of the homeless reside. Luckily, you'll never run into any trouble when you're in the cafe. The employees are always friendly and helpful, and there are new cats every Thursday night. The cats aren't always as friendly as you may see in cat cafes in Asia, but that's because these cats are fostered. They have all been rescued by the SPCA and some can be timid because of their past traumas. The workers will let you go in for free if you're interested in adopting one of the available kitties. That way you can visit him or her as often as you want and get a feel on if they're the right match for you. The food is good - just cupcakes, scones and brownies. The drinks are quite tasty. My favourite has been the iced mocha.
