This place is awesome! The onin rings are to die for! Catfish and shrimp were just as tasty. Our waitress Heather is just awesome. Super friendly and made us feel right at home. This is a must visit.

We’re from out of town, and try to stop here when going through Abilene. It’s a quaint, neat little place. Personally, one of my favorites from their menu is the fried mushrooms. Next up for me would be the frog legs. Catfish is good too. Our waitress who served us on our most recent visit, Heather, was also great! Very friendly and attentive. Hope to keep coming back to this place as our travels allow!

We had family come to town, and wanted catfish. On a non busy night with a lot of empty tables, we ordered our drinks, appetizer, and 3 all-you-can-eat catfish dinners. The waitress brought our drinks and appetizer out pretty quickly. That's where the good time stopped. After 20 minutes we had to flag the waitress down to get refills. After 4 other tables that arrived AFTER us had ordered drinks, food then had their food delivered we had to hunt down a different waitress from another section to ask about our food. After waiting for over an hour we finally got our catfish. Baked potatoes were so cold the room temperature whipped butter did not melt. We did not get refills on catfish. The manager apologized and said that she was going to make it right and fix our ticket. She took $3.00 off each plate but then they charged me $3.00 to use my card. Absolutely ridiculous. $86 for 3 people. Don't waste your time or money find somewhere else to eat. I would give this place -5 stars if the system would allow it.

It was great. Went with some family in town. And the server was really great. She made the experience so much better. The food was great. One person had an issue with their food and they corrected it right away. Great great customer service. Everyone enjoyed their food. Definitely will be returning customers.

If you are in the mood for country home cooking and catfish, you will want to give them a try. Our waitress was very helpful and attentive. It was a busy place so there was a little wait for our food. I feel if we would have told them we were in a hurry they would have really tried to accommodate us. It's a popular place.We had their catfish and seafood platter and there was so much food to fill us up that there was no room for dessert.

Delicious catfish but the pieces are small so each piece is lots of coating and not a lot of fish. The portion is really big though so you end up with a lot. It's just that each individual piece is small so again, lots of coating. Delicious coating though. Oh and their tartar sauce is fantastic and they give you plenty of that too. Not those tiny little tablespoon containers 🙂

Stopped by on our way to Austin. We shared the Seafood platter- crab cake- blackened catfish and 3 jumbo shrimp. We also ordered a small order of onion rings which were the BOMB. Food was really good and Heather took great care of us. Would definitely return.

Family and I went in to eat here for the first time. Heather was an amazing waitress, on top of her game for sure. Food was amazing. Can't tell you what our favorite was we had the catfish, chicken fried steak, bacon burger, chicken strips. The only complaints was everyone was to FULL. We will be back for sure. The last three times I have been to Catfish Corner it was terrible, the fish was cold, the hushpuppies were cold. Service was ok but all the people at the table were disappointed in the service food and Ambiance. We will not be back. I've tried three different times.

Catfish Corner - Abilene, Texas! Not sure how many people do this, but I didn't eat catfish when I visited! The chicken fried steak looked so good, that's the direction I went. Served with two sides (onion rings and Cole slaw) were my request. Wow!!! Onion rings - huge, not greasy & hot out of the grease! Probably the best onion rings I've ever had!!! Cole slaw was good too. My waitress was great! She made me feel welcome and was there when needed her. I was in Texas today and was wanting catfish because it's not a common grocery item in the Pacific Northwest. I ordered the 5 piece catfish lunch. The cole slaw and fried potatoes were good. The fish appeared to be strips of a catfish filet and seemed to be overcooked. I estimate that you get approximately three pieces per actual filet, so a three piece dinner is approximately one filet. The service was a little slow but attentive when the server got to me. The dining area is clean as well as the washroom. NOTE : When you receive the invoice, you will see an additional item in the pretax referred to as a "service fee." The service fee on my invoice was approximately one-half of the sales taxes; however, if you pay with cash it approximately offsets the service fee.

Started out with a small order of onion rings. They were fantastic!! Next I opted for the unlimited catfish with two sides. Basically, you have to choose baked potato or fries and then pick one side. The order comes with hush puppies. The pieces of catfish were hit and miss. Some pieces were cooked perfectly and others were overcooked...dry and tough. The fries were barely warm and not fully cooked. That was a sad deal because they serve fresh cut. The hush puppies were horrible. Overcooked and no substance. The coleslaw was average. I've had worse and I've had better. Not much flavor. The service started out ok and then my waitress just disappeared. I later saw her in the side room doing....I don't know what. During my meal, there was a yelling screaming match going on between wait staff and the kitchen staff. Very unprofessional and kind of ruined my experience even more. This is a typical smaller town dining establishment. It appeared well kept and clean. I have mixed feelings as if I'd return.

We are in Abilene a lot, but for some reason, we had only gone here twice. And it has been a while. We absolutely loved it then and I think love it even more now. Food and service was great! Will definitely go back.

I love their stuffed crab. Service is always quick and the food is always hot. Might be a bit slow when the place is really packed, but it's worth the wait.

The frog legs werent fried good the breading came off and the fish were fried in plain cornmeal was very grittey..

Food was delicious and consistent, service was amazing. Catfish corner hit all the right spots! Cadon and his staff run a great family owned establishment. Whether it's catfish, chicken or burgers, Catfish Corner will make sure you don't leave disappointed.

Parking : all in the front Prices : reasonable if you're getting the all you can eat Or appetizers ONE piece of shrimp is 2.99 To add to ur plate Customer service: id say fair considering they seemed to be understaffed but the staff there was hustling Food : catfish an obvious yes, fried pickles are good so are the onion rings , fried shrimp when I had it the fist time cooked nicely , second time wasn't cleaned n batter was soggy n coming off , chicken good taste but over cooked. We are old folks, we've had the opportunity to eat catfish all over the state. And I must say that catfish corner in Abilene is at the top of the chart when it comes to flavorful and delectable catfish. You get it anyway you want but we like the all you can eat fried catfish serve daily and nightly. Baked potato or french fries hush puppies maybe a side of frog legs or oysters? It can't be beat.

Well, since my review is 9 years old, maybe it's time to update! We still go to Catfish Corner every couple of months. They still have great catfish and wonderful burgers. Wednesday's is all you can eat shrimp, fried or boiled, for $17.99. That's a GREAT deal! Last night, I decided to try something new. Under Special Sandwich's, it said Cheesy Chicken Fried Bacon Burger. Why not? When it was put on the table in front of me is when I realized they had battered and chicken fried the bacon. It was a thing of true beauty! If you have never tried chicken fried bacon, your missing out! I made it through half of this huge burger, and took the rest home. I just had the other half for supper, and it was still delicious. I guess I better remind you how good the huge orders of onion rings are. You'll definitely order them again! If your looking for a great burger or some wonderful catfish, Catfish Corner is the place!

Found this place shortly after moving to Abi while we craved some Oklahoma catfish and this place tops any and all we have ever had. The fish is crispy and flavored to perfection every time and the staff is super nice.

I'm disappointed, usually love this restaurant, but twice this month I've received room temperature fried catfish that appears to have sat under a warming light too long. Is the restaurant under new management? Service was friendly and efficient, but couldn't make up for substandard food.

Ordered 2 all you can eat catfish. One of us wanted a refill, waitress was suppose to put order in and then disappeared. We waited and waited and waited 30 minutes, wait staff walking by us just smiling. Our waitress was gone. I finally asked for the fish refill and they said waitress was in the office doing paperwork. Really!!!! You have customers!! Do your damn paperwork when everyone is gone!! This is no way to run a business and you should all be ashamed and several of you fired!

I had to give it another try as I was craving fish and shrimp. I said maybe they were having a rough day. The food was seasoned well and the flavor was not that bad at all! Christy was my server. She was prompt with any need. They had an issue with some leaking, but it was well maintained and wet floor signs are all over. I had fish and shrimp combo loaded baked potatoe and slaw. The slaw tasted the same kinda old cabbage. So I think that is just the taste. The fish was cooked perfectly for me as I like my fish well done. The jumbo shrimp was so flavorful! So looking at a couple other reviews, the food vary from carry out vs dining in. I think I can agree with that because my food was sooo much better dining in.

Food we ordered for takeout was great. I asked for extra tartar sauce and cocktail sauce and didn't get the cocktail or extra tartar. The place was packed and my spouse had no where to sit the order was not ready when she arrived that's okay but the waitress was very rude and my wife was mad as hell when she arrived at home this was $75 order

The catfish and shrimp are always good as I've been here a few times now. I've also had the stuffed crab and that's definitely one of my favorites. My boys had the burger and they seemed to enjoy it. My one complaint is the temperature inside the restaurant. I guess they have one window unit to cool the place so it gets pretty hot in there. Update the HVAC system and open the other side for more seating -- this place would be awesome.

All around positive experience. Really good catfish fried or grilled. Not much of a wait. Friendly wait staff.

Wait time is unreal. When orders arrived plates were mixed up( my slaw on her plate &my baked potato was on her plate) her salad was wilted beyond belief. The fried shrimp was over cooked and was like chewing on an old inner tube. Fried fish was good,but not as good as it used to be. Overall I was disappointed with meal. Will not eat here in the future.

The catfish and fries were good the atmosphere is dark and was really uncomfortably cold not the greatest experience and I couldn't get out fast enough. Was a gorgeous day outside wish there were outdoor seating. It was busy but service was fast and pleasant. Kind of a dark dive if you are into that sort of atmosphere.

Your sauces are all terrible. I did not thing you could screw up Cocktails Sause but you did . why can you not have tartar sauce like it should be. The spicy stuff sucks.

First time here! Not recommended if you are hungry for some catfish. Orders were taken but waited for 45mins plus for food to cook.

We love to find the unique places where most don't think to stop and eat! This place has an interesting set up, there's a door on both sides of the restaurant with different seating areas. The door in the left was highly friendly, where the right side was less pleasant, needless to say we chose the left. The service was friendly but the wait time for food was a little longer than average especially for the amount of people in the place but worth the wait. We ordered the chicken strips which I got with fries and coleslaw and the hamburger with fries. Chicken was definitely freshly battered and flavored excellently (tiny bit of spice) and and the hamburger was delicious. Proportions were large. It's off the beaten path for us and we discovered it when another place was closed however If we are in the area again I think we would definitely stop here again.

GREAT restaurant! Catfish, frog legs, onion rings, fried pickles all fantastic, and best hush puppies ever. The tea is good, their house brand hot sauce rocks, server was super friendly and attentive....cannot say a single bad thing about the restaurant. If you like fried (but not greasy at all) seafood, you cannot do better than Catfish Corner! 4 of us ate there and we all loved it. I live outside of town and sadly, I will never eat at another restaurant in Abilene, even though I've had good meals elsewhere here--Catfish Corner is that good.

Service is great, restaurant clean and the food is so good and fresh. I recommend the fried fish and hush puppies - my go to!

I was hungry for catfish so I went to give them a try. I ordered the seafood platter, it took forever for my food to arrive. Once it was there the catfish, shrimp, and crab cake was terrible. The catfish did not taste like fish and the shrimp did not taste good either and the crab cake was on a bed of something in-edible. My son ordered a chicken sandwich and he could not eat it on the bun because the chicken was too tough. It was the worst sit down meal I have ever had to pay for and it cost me $34. I wish I had taken pictures of our meal but I was so disappointed I didn't think to. I wish I could give it a rating less than 1.

Took way to long to get my food and that food was mediocre. The waitresses weren't much help either. Would not go back.

First off, a lot of people recommend this place for soul food, but where the love in the food. True enough they stay busy, but the quality of the food for the price is high. I order a catfish plate with hush puppies and fries. Frog legs. What got me for the price of catfish the pieces are small. The customer service sucks

Just had my first visit here. The hamburger steak is very good. The restaurant is clean and wait-staff was great. I plan to go back and try it again.

I ordered a half pound chicken for 10.99 and this is what I got, no sides-nothing included. When I called the manager laughed and said yes that's what you get!!

We order couple times a month. 1-2 pounds catfish to go. This is the best place to have catfish. After living on the coast for 7 year, then moving to Abilene this is our go to for Catfish. Love it!!!

This place used to be the bomb back when I first got here 20 odd years ago when smoking was on one side of the building and non smoking on the other, we went often! Then they decided to change the recipe of their fish - bland tasteless fish now. Used to have spice and flavor! They now routinely mess up my check when I am with more than 4 other people which is all the time. I only go when I am invited by someone else now. which is once a year maybe - we used to go three or four times a month easy, and I often snuck off for a secret lunch by myself. Its just gone so down hill its sad.

Oh my god I wanted frog legs so bad and didnt know where to get any so a guy friend took me out to eat there and i was lime oh my god its going to be nasty But the minute i put them frog legs in my mouth i totally thought of my Grandpa Rose and how they cooked them like that and i got a Big Smile and started thinking about how he would of loved to come here. So thanks to the best darn feog legs in texas.....Stuffed Crab are good too.....

Nice little hole in the wall place in the industrial part of town. Catfish either fried or blackened, chicken tenders, burgers, fried frog's legs, chicken fried chicken or steak, stuffed crab, various sandwiches, hush puppies, onion rings, cole slaw, fried shrimp, and there's even dessert which I believe was a peach cobbler. No coke, only Pepsi. Prices are good, service is good too. My only complaint would be if they could cook the French fries so they aren't these limp little grease weiners. But over all it's a nice place to out to every now and again.

Excellent food! Jalapeño hushpuppies were the best we have found. Food was so good we got an additional 5piece order and brought it back to Midland with us.

Great fish!!!!! Cute fish theme. We appreciated the Mom & Pop feel. Fresh cut, soggy fries that most seem to love, including my husband. They had the seating spread out to at least 6 ft apart due to the new 'norms'. Waitress was young but attentive - worked hard and was committed to keeping us happy, kept our drinks full & double checked on us randomly, was working the entire dining room solo. We tipped her well & she seemed so surprised, it was cute. I'm not from around here but I definitely recommend for the fish. I'd absolutely eat here again!!

It's a local outfit that doesn't have a lot of flash or polish, just simple food cooked well. The chicken fried bacon, served with a side of cream gravy, tasted exactly like chicken fried bacon should taste. I'm glad I tried it, but it was too large for me to finish and still have the rest of my meal. One note, the hush puppies will sneak up on you, they have a little kick to them.

Came here for lunch & were seated immediately. The staff was nice and attentive. Atmosphere is pleasant and laid back. Our order consisted of both chicken and catfish. Their sweet tea is really good. The food came out in a timely manner and tasted good. They are a little pricey on some items given the portion sizes.

I had read the reviews and did not expect it to be great, but even so I was seriously underwhelmed. Their name says they are in the business of selling catfish but the tiny "filets" were about 50/50 cornmeal to fish. ! The shrimp were a little better but not much. My server Max, was nice enough, but not a very skilled waiter. I waited for about 5-10 minutes for him to wipe my table down. (I had seated myself, so the dirty table was not their fault) . He forgot several things. I asked for tabasco and the bottle they bought had no regulator in it so when I went to shake a few drops out, it poured out(this was probably done by a previous customer unbeknownst to Max, but it didn't help my dining experience.)The tartar sauce was plentiful and nicely tart which is a plus. The "loaded" baked potato had less than an ounce each of cheese and bacon, but was basically lukewarm and definitely not hot enough to melt the cheese. Overall I didn't hate it, but I found it to basically be mediocre at best and not a place I would visit again unless everything else was closed

It wasn't the worst, but my catfish was thin & dry. The peach cobbler was good though! Nice waitresses, service was quick.

Sorry do not recommend this place got cold food asked to make it right they took plate put in microwave fish got rock hard Sent back again they finally made some fresh fish we got here at 12:30 pm finally received fresh fish everything else the same management never showed up nothing was resolved right we are paying customers paying 14.00 a plate and can't get something good sorry Abilene catfish corner got a very bad thumbs down from us we will not recommend or come back. management u need to step up

Beware of To Go Orders !!!! I ordered at the restaurant. It took up to an hour to receive my food while the 4 couples that came after me were served. I asked about my order and was told it's still cooking & will take another 10 minutes. When I received my order it was cold. I truly believe they held back my order. The short older Hispanic woman was rude, disrespectful & condescending. And, I have nothing against Hispanics because I'm Hispanic. But, my parents raised me with manners. She was already angry when I paid. But, I noticed she was nice to the customers eating inside. Then I realized it was about money. Tip money which is sad that they would stop so low for money. And, that being nice to their customers was not genuine but fake. God help us all. What is this world coming too ? Good versus evil.

The waitress was wonderful even with a crowd. We were a party of 6 and she brought the food out right away and even extra pickles for my granddaughter. The crab cakes were fluffy and very good. Enjoyed the hushpuppies too. The catfish was a bit dry. Chicken fried steak was overcooked and dry. Gravy was just ok. The place was adorably charming though! Cheeseburger may not be their specialty but it is a beautiful burger.

Customer service great . We order frog legs as appetizer and I would not recommend them. For Lunch I had the cajun grilled fish and it was burned. We were really disappointed on the food .The place was clean and for the most part.

It just wasn't as good as I had remembered it. This place was a regular of mine 15-20 years ago when I lived in the area. I looked forward to the visit and was disappointed in the fish. The onion rings were awesome, as was the shrimp and cole slaw. The waitstaff worked hard and were friendly and professional. The portions and pricing was fair as well. Yes, I will be back.
