Catfish Station

I've ordered food from here a few times - never dined in - but I wanted to wait a while before leaving a review. I must say though, the food has been very consistent. It's always seasoned very well - not too much, but not bland. They don't over fry their catfish - which is very important to me. I'm very picky about where I eat catfish; I don't get catfish from any place that I feel can't cook it better than me 😂 This is honestly the only place I've had so far that I'm okay with eating it. So, that's saying something. I'm not saying it's the best in Houston, but it's the best in the area - that I've had at least. The portions are worth the price as well. The photo is of the combination box; this two or three meals for me for under $20...cant beat that. I'm sure some people eat far more than I do, but for me this is a great deal.

2025: i think it’s because im black to be honest!! I WAS REFUSED A KIDS MEAL! My son is 7 and he wanted a kids meal and they said they don’t sell them!! Crazy! Madness! & I just bought one there last week!!! 👀 Yes they do!! U can’t force me to buy a full meal when the food is mediocre! Yea IM COMPLETELY OVER THIS PLACE! I miss the original catfish station on 1960 with the original owner! These franchises have just gotten ridiculous! This is my last visit! GOODBYE CATFISH STATION (AKA) the station! 🚉 And please note the pictures below 👇 are from 2020 when the food was actually decent!!! Oh I was told Vanessa was the one who said no kids meals could be sold!! These ppl are ridiculous 2023: WONT BE GETTING MY BUSINESS ANYMORE!! ✌️ I guess they have a new manager and she’s a lady! But charging for sauces when the prices have went up and the food hasn’t improved is ridiculous! I guess I’ll have to find a new catfish place because I don’t do changes too well especially when NO CHANGE has come behind the price increases! There are several locations (CATFISH STATION) (THE STATION) and the food quality is different every where you go. Owned now by different people. So no consistency! I’m giving 1 star ⭐️ and today will be the last day I come in. Update 9/9/2019 Love their fish and tarter sauce! Their fries aren't the best! Usually never fresh either. First time I went in the manager checked my ten dollar bill as if it was fake maybe they should invest in a bill reader to not make customers feel so awkward about spending their money. Other than that, great fish. 2015: Under new management and he’s great!!! The food is fresh the fries are so much better!!! They also have a new Alfredo sauce and it’s freakin awesome! Wow! Definitely upgrade from 4 star to 5. Hands down best fish in Houston and trust me I’ve tried a lot of places!! Including your popular seafood restaurants

Just your basic catfish place, but the fish is cooked pretty good. Light, balanced with the right amount of crunchy. Not too crispy that it hurts your jaws, and the breading is not too thick. The cheese grits you can choose as a side is also pleasantly aromatic and even has sausages in it! The chicken and sausage gumbo was a bit too peppery though. Overall, very basic bayou food, but if catfish fillet is exactly what you crave... I'd recommend it.

I tried Catfish Station for the first time... DELICIOUS! The Monday special was a good reasonable price, healthy amount of food, and cooked superb! Place is nice and clean, the customer service is top notch. Pleasant, courtesy, and professional. I enjoyed the cook! He was happy... singing & whistling, and enjoyed pleasing the customers. Just can't get them to cook the fish well done, crispy. I will definitely return and you should, too!!! Kudos to the staff on W. Little York, near Greenhouse. You made my day!

I'm a food blogger | dessitheedon| and this is worst fish and shrimp I have ever had in Houston . It literally taste like you are eating flour ... the portion size is nice but I definitely see why it's 2 for 1 .. not sure if it's worth a review

Service is good and food is great but the overwhelming heat takes from the whole experience. Only 2 or so fans for the staff, which barely does anything for anyone. Would give 1 star but feel real bad for the staff considering they are working in that all day. Good luck yall.

I loved this place. Food was perfectly cooked, served quickly, and rather cheap too. The boudin egg rolls are a must. The fish was crispy, chicken was tender and the shrimp were perfect. Spicy tarter sauce!

Went in for the first time and cooks were screaming at each other which left me rather confused. No grill was available when I went a bit ago and despite it still be opened there were no sides/ low. Won't be back seeing as the whole thing was tense with the ladies in the back yelling.

I like this place. When I get the hankering for some fried catfish, this is going to be my go-to spot from now on. I went at around 3pm, so the place wasn't too packed. Ordering was easy, and I got my food in a reasonable amount of time. The fries were a bit bland, but the fish is the star and it tasted good. Pairs well with hot sauce, as all fried fish should. The price was good because of ordering the fish on a Monday. The price would be okay on any other day, but it's still relatively affordable regardless. Good stuff.

Mannnn, I'm trying to figured out how this place has 4 stars!!! This was a true disappointment. Staff was nice, BUT calling yourself Catfish station and selling Swai is crazy. I ordered a fried combination plate and boudin balls. The green beans, hush puppies and shrimp were the only things worth eatin. The fish taste like water and batter. The boudin balls gummy/inside over cooked and the outside is like dry glue. I deserve my money back for them and that fish. I need them to remove Cajun from the name as well, cause it's not. First and last time coming here.

So good! Great service! Clean Restaurant! This spot has some crazy grits! 10/10 Delicious Their combination basket (Catfish , Shrimp and Fries) is all you need with a side of grits and some fruit punch. Staff seems very nice. Howeverrr, the catfish is not REAL catfish...it's actually Swai. Not a fan of Swai at all!

Yeah....so FYI, the prices that are on their website, are not the prices that they charge you! I pulled up the website for the cashier and was like asked if it was correct and he said "that's not our logo!" I looked at the logo ON THE WALL BEHIND HIM and it was the same thing!!! TF?! I asked to speak to the manager and got a "oh, they don't work on weekends!" And then I asked to have the owners email or contact number and was told "we are not able to give out his Mr. Willington's information" not even for feedback! Josue was the cashier and made sure I didn't have access to upper management. So, there was no way to get to the bottom of the overpricing situation! Anyway...the fried catfish was great and the fries were super soggy!!! Hot but soggy...like they had been sitting for awhile and then warmed back up when I ordered! Yea, that sucks! But umm, I more than likely won't come back. I hate when businesses like this give me a hard time!

Food is delicious always hot and fresh and delivery time is fast when I pick it up wait times are fast .

The rice was perfectly cooked. The fish were excellent. The shrimp was delicious. I wish there was one at College Station.

Thank you for not preparing my blackened fish thoroughly....No one wants raw, mushy fish...The outside was cooked but the inside was like sushi... I came here during my lunch break and there was only one person in front of me. It took forever just for me to order because the phone kept ringing and he kept taking phone orders....I could barely hear what the guy was saying because he had his trap music playing so loud! I kept saying "huh" "what" "one more time...". There was one guy taking orders and one woman cooking. She didn't have on any hair net to protect against hair getting in food. I finally got my food and hurried back to work. As soon as I took a bite it was just a mushy mess in my mouth. Disgusting, mediocre food. Even the salad was disgusting a complete waste of my $12. That fish is rotting away in the trash can. I wouldn't dare put myself through the torture of trying to consume it.....Never again...

First time to order at this restaurant....giving an honest review. The Catfish....PHENOMENAL. So delicious. Definitely worth ordering the vast wish and will order again. The Fried Shrimp that was part of the Famiky combo was excellent as well. There were one or two shrimp fried with the SHELL on...so the cooks / prep need to work on that...that shouldn't happen...but the shrimp was delicious despite's this. Hush puppies and remoloude were very good. Now for the ok. The Dirty rice was ok- but it lacked flavor and there was no sign of the Trinity in that rice, ( bell pepper, onions, celery,) so that is probably why the flavor was not up to calling it dirty rice. The red beans and rice were good. The harshest feedback I have is that the crawfish pie and side of Etoufee should be removed from the menu. It was not good at all and is a shame to serve next to that outstanding shrimp and catfish...you don't need it. The crawfish pie was under fried and very pale- not golden, and the eroufee was so so bad. Pale yellow and looked very unappetizing and tasted like bland flavorless goo. Just take it off the menu and focus on all the other things you do so well...that dish is not worthy of the menu. But back to the great...Catfish and Shrimp outstanding. Next time we will order some poor boys in addition to the catfish and shrimp...it was again..phenomenal.

Oh my gosh, this place is sooo good. I'm talking slap yo momma good! I sent my husband out to pick up a birthday dinner for my 13 yr old. I ordered the family combo 1# fish ,1# shrimp, with cheese grits and green beans. Also order lg fries and boudin. I have nothing to complain about . I highly recommend.

Excellent place for some great catfish on the Westside of Katy, TX. My catfish was cooked to perfection and they also have a spicy tarter sauce. It was a new twist for me instead of hot sauce I used their spicy sauce. I also had the blacken catfish and the tenderness and flavor was on point. l had the cheese grits. I should have ordered more. The only noticeable issue is the location is not very visible. But it's right across from Cooper's Old Time BBQ.

OMG! This place has gone to trash. I just picked up my 5 piece catfish basket and it was horrible. The grease was old and burnt the catfish was hiding in batter. The hush puppies were dry as hell. The red beans and rice was even subpar. I don't know what happened to this place, but they had some nerve upping their prices by damn near 40% and now serving nasty food. I've eaten my last meal there. Not worth the money anymore.

Very disappointed called in blacken catfish according to the menu 8oz filet My hubby weighed the fish it was only 3oz This is false info. Food is too expensive to be ripped off. Wtf I did pay for weigh of the styrofoam container.

Buy one get one free fish snacks in uber eats! I also got crawfish pie, boudan link, and 1 grilled shrimp taco. The fish snack comes with fries and hushpuppies, I got spicy tarter sauce, honey mustard, and I think some type of remoulade comes with the crawfish pie. It's my second time ever eating here....more details will post tonight after I take pictures and finish eating it. Well, I ate and everything arrived hot and fresh. I didn't get spicy tarter, I only got packets of plain tarter but that's ok! It was all yummy, I'll get extra sweet corn hushpuppies next time. The taco was great, the boudin was flavorful, I peeled the skin off and ate the rice, the catfish was cooked perfectly just needs salt, fries were really good too. I'm happy and want more crawfish pie for sure!

Great food.. clearly racist lady at the counter. Let me explain.. I walk in to pick up my to go order. There is a lady at the counter. I say "Hello I'm here to pick up a to go order" she responds with "1 chicken meal?" "um.. Noo? why would you.." Then a man came from around the corner and asked me my name - and handed me my meal. I was actually taken back because 1. why didn't she ask for my name? There were 3 other meals sitting there waiting to get picked up. 2. why would you assume I am there for chicken? I didn't even know they served chicken at catfish station- as I am a pescatarian and do not eat cow, chicken or pig. I have eaten here before and truly love the food but that was just ridiculous. Don't assume anyone is ordering anything. Just ask for a name. I am not only irritated but offended. And yes to answer your question I am black.

SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BUSINESS! We were craving some fish and this place popped up on my search. We gave it a try and we weren't disappointed at all. Fish were crispy and flavorful! Loved it

BEWARE: They used Swai not Catfish per the owner. When I called to place my order I asked if the combination basket was catfish and the guy who answered the phone said yes. I asked if he was sure it wasn't Swai and he said yes, they use catfish. (I asked specifically if they use catfish or swai bc swai makes my tongue tingle and swell-an allergic reaction) I picked up my order and headed back home. About 10mins into my drive back home I stopped to a convenient store and decided to taste my meal. The fish had a mushy texture and less than a minute later my tongue started tingling and the tip started to swell. I called the restaurant and asked again if they use catfish or swai, they said catfish. I advised them I'm allergic to swai and asked them again of it was catfish or swai. They put me on hold and eventually hung up. I called right back and asked again if it was catfish or swai (which I already knew it was swai based on the reaction I had from taking 2 bites) and was put on hold again, then someone different picked up the phone and said the owner confirmed they use swai, apologized, and offered a refund. It's illegal to purposely advertise one product and do a bate and switch and sell a completely different product w/out telling the consumer. I'll never visit this restaurant again.

The food is good and you get a great value for what you pay. It was a pleasant surprise to find this place and I have been more than once

I've been sleep On this place since moving to the area. The price point is great, the catfish is fire! and has plenty of flavor. I've been three times in the last 10 days. For 5.99 they have a 2pcs fried fish and fries special. Oh and don't forget to ask for there homemade spicy Tatar sauce. I will be back to explore more of there menu!

5 star review about to hit you. This business took over the old Frenchy's chicken that was originally here and I'll be honest...It was a really good experience overall. We came in on a Saturday afternoon and there was no wait, both of the cashiers there were very attentive and knowledgeable about the food options. This part of Katy/cypress is growing in it's fast food seafood options and I believe this place will be a game changer. They have other locations throughout the northwest Houston area. We are transitioning towards veganism but occasionally we will have seafood so it's great this location is here. I ordered the catfish basket and when I tell you it was fried to perfection I almost thought I was eating KFC extra crispy chicken(we are a year removed from meat) but the fish inside was still very tender and moist. They have Cajun fries instead of the normal kind which was great because it was seasoned to perfection and came with two hush puppies. My wife got the shrimp basket which came with seven pieces of shrimp and she had green beans. The food was very hot and cooked well they offer a special homemade tartar sauce which has a hint of sweetness to it so it was a really good complement to the catfish. Next time I plan on trying the fish and grits. Good job Catfish team!

You order at the counter and they drop it off to your table. The catfish basket comes with 5 pieces of catfish 1 side and 2 hush puppies. I ordered side Mac and cheese as my side. There was no fishy taste and just the right amount of spice and batter. The Mac and cheese was very good but not amazing. Very generous portions . Next time I will order the catfish snack which comes with 3 pcs of fish and fries and pay $1 up charge to change out the fries for a different side. Place was clean, staff was friendly. The menu had a good variety to chose from. Food came out hot and fast, which is a big plus to me.

4 starts, first time I have ever enjoyed Catfish Stations, great job.. Young guy at front was really awesome!!! Upon eating 2 pieces of Fish, I started to realize this fish didn't have a catfish taste and thought a review I had saw, where the person said something about Swai fish. Well Swai it sure the hell was, Swai Fish Station if u decide to fry another fish u should let the payer choose if they want it. Don't get me wrong it was good, I have bought and ate Swai before, just let us make the choose.....

This is my go too fish and shrimp spot. I eat here very often and the salad with garlic bread is always a bonus. The pieces are large and the money is worth it.

First time eating the food from this place. It was recommended by family so we said why not. Pulled up the menu on their website to review. We decided to order the 20 piece fish meal with 2 large sides. The first question I asked was the fish catfish or was it sway? The answer was that it was catfish. So we decided to go ahead with order. We were quoted $2.00 more that online posted price asked why it was stated at their location it is a different price. Upon picking up the food it was hot and smelled good. When we got home the fish is seasoned very well, but after eating it I feel like it is not catfish but sway. The fries are thick and seasoned they were a hit. The dirty rice and red beans and rice were okay. Overall it was okay, not bad pricing, well seasoned, the customer service was okay but I would not good back unfortunately.

First time ordering and it was GREAT! Had the grille catfish and grilled shrimp. Will definitely go back.

Pre frozen Swai!.. yes Swai is a species of catfish.. there are better places to get true fried catfish.

First off my Mom's place a Family special order 23.99 14 fish 6 tuff shrimp and plenty fries So I ordered one to We was late picking them up they was closed But let us get the orders nice amount of fries the fish wasn't Catfish in my opinion IF it was I must have lost my love for Catfish I wasn't impressed it was fluffy IDK Seasoning could be better BUT if your dealing with High Blood pressure or Salt issues You will be fine All you can do is try it for yourself Again I did and I would not go back for fish Thinking about trying the Chicken tho Not really a fan of places that do Chicken Fish in the same place My Mom enjoyed hers I'm from Las Vegas visiting

This is our "go to" place for catfish and we love catfish! It never disappoints. Always hot and cooked to perfection. We usually go here every 1-2 weeks. Prices very reasonable and the staff friendly.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet.I have gone for lunch on many occasions have even brought co workers. There are many different menu items not just catfish. I like the catfish snack ass its only 3 pieces with one side and you can upgrade your side for only $1. he basket has 5 pieces with side and hush puppies. Their pieces are of a nice size. I usually add the mac and cheese as my side. They are Emmy go to place for catfish, its crispy but not too hard. I recommend you to try them out.

OMG! We ordered catfish from this place a couple of days ago, I was craving it. I don't even like seafood that much, but have learned to love catfish, if cooked right, this place is the BEST!! I loved just about everything that I ordered. I had fried catfish, red beans and rice, green beans, and chicken and sausage gumbo (really good gumbo)!! Amazing taste! All of it! I think the mac n cheese could use some help, but the rest was mouth-watering. I will definitely be a loyal customer! Thank you. Somebody finally got it right! -Tammi Thomas

Worst place ever. I placed an order online, this location by mistake, called them right away, wont accept the cancellation. I called right away, f you!

I can never brag enough about this place. I love the entire menu from the shrimp grits to the gumbo. The entire staff are some of the friendliest people I've ever met. The only thing I can complain about is that you have to bring your own beer, other than that, nothing.

Unfortunately there was nothing good about anything I ordered. The "jumbo" shrimp were definitely not jumbo. The macaroni & cheese lacked cheese of any sort & the noodles were hard penne pasta noodles. The banana pudding had 6 cookies & six small pieces of banana in the liquid pudding that poured out of the container when I opened it. The tartar sauce didn't remotely taste like tartar sauce; it was lumpy, spicy something, I have no idea what. The potato salad was chunks of potatoes in some sort of mayo mixture. Needless to say I am beyond disappointed with my meal & I had to order food from elsewhere. Money thrown away.

wasn't really flavorful. fried shrimp was hard. I asked for cocktail sauce, they hurriedly said they put it in the bag, in a rushing way and in fact, did not put cocktail sauce in the bag.

Just ordered take out from here. It was my first time here. The food wasn't nasty, but it was tasteless. The red beans and rice didn't have much flavor at all. It needed salt and hot sauce to eat it. We ordered the catfish & shrimp basket. It didn't taste bad, but again it was lacking flavor/seasoning. I won't order here again, but if work catered it in I would eat it. It wasn't bad, but it was great.

Uber eats delivery boy looks like he ate my food. This is very dissapointing never will use ubereats for delivery from this restaurant this sad stuff.

I love the ambiance of thus place it reminds me of a La hole in the wall. I really enjoy the fried crawfish pies. I've also had the chicken tenders with the red beans and rice . I liked the tenders as they were cooked perfectly and a large portion. The red brands and rice are ok at best. We've also thoroughly enjoyed the boudin balls, the grits for the shrimp and grits left a lot to be desired. I also enjoy that they usually remember me when i come. The prices are reasonable and you can order online .

I expected more but that my just be my fault. I'll admit their fish taco didn't look very appealing but, the flavor was on point. My husband liked his catfish.

We frequent this place however I've noticed that the prices are the same but the size of the fish is a fraction of what it used to be. I bought $60 worth af catfish "nuggets" and shrimp. Very disappointing being that I thought i was buying whole fillets. The fish fit in the palm of my hand

Was trying to figure out what to have for dinner, and thought I'd try this place out for delivery. Wow! So glad I did. Fish tacos were mouth watering! Delivery was fast and friendly. Will be ordering from here again!
