I Tried One of the Best Premium Economy Seats in the Sky–Here’s My Honest Opinion

"Business class on Cathay Pacific offers access to three lounges at Hong Kong International Airport: The Wing, The Pier, and The Deck. The seating arrangement in a one-two-one configuration provides extra privacy. Features include a large side pocket, a cabinet with a mirror, an amenity kit, a one-click sleep button for lie-flat beds, and high-quality Bamford bedding. The dining experience is enhanced by a collaboration with Michelin-starred Duddell’s, offering Cantonese classics and a variety of international dishes. In-flight entertainment is extensive and consistent across all cabins."

The lounge is not very convenient, as it is located near Gate 6 in the airport. The food selection is quite basic, mainly consisting of noodles and wontons. However, it does offer shower facilities, which is a plus. Unfortunately, the shower area is quite outdated. The tiles in the corners have noticeable mold, and the dim lighting makes the space feel even less inviting. Additionally, there is a large crack on one of the tiles, and the toilet stall area appears to be poorly maintained. Overall, while the lounge provides a place to freshen up, the facilities could use significant improvements.

The Deck is one of the three lounges Cathay Pacific offers at Hong Kong International Airport. The atmosphere feels like home, with soft sofas, a cozy kitchen, and a balcony. The food and drinks are excellent, though there’s no bartender for cocktails. However, a great perk is that you can pour your own drinks as much as you like, without waiting for a bartender to serve you.

From breakfast to lunch Good few choices of dishes Only the wanton noodle soup is very well prepared the rest are very average Anyway it’s only an airport lounge and cannot ask for more Service is fantastic and couldn’t be better Cosy attentive hard working tidy clean neat well maintained well trained well organised well presented great decoration Great lounge to have a break before the flight

We visited The Deck Business Class Lounge around two weeks ago and had a pleasant experience overall. Food: We sampled the breakfast offerings. Although the selection was limited, the dishes were delicious, and the allergen labeling was clear and helpful. Drinks: The non-dairy milk options could be improved. Even though gluten intolerance is not widely recognized in most Asian countries, a business class lounge should ideally provide options like oat, soy, or almond milk.

Love the noodle bar! The rest of the food on the buffet were bleh except for the cold cuts which we munched on til we had to leave to board our flight.

One of the best lounge I’ve ever been same as The Pier. Nice food and beverage selection, all the dishes I tried tasted pretty good. The shower room is not too big but it provides all you need for your cleanliness. Service is good but can be improved

With a Cathay Pacific business class ticket at hand, there's a few CX lounges which one can explore. There are 3 actually and are located at different parts of the airport I took the opportunity to visit this first as it was the closest after immigrations. I arrived early at the airport and didn't know the gate yet so I decided to come here to check it out. Quite typical lounge it seems, but feels very open as it isn't enclosed much. The lounge is of a comfortable size considering there weren't many people in the lounge at that time, felt a little empty. The service seemed to be lacking. There wasn't smiles on the staff they just walked past you like you were invisible. The staff whom I showed the boarding pass to didn't even say a single word, including those who cleared the plates on the table, they didnt even ask if they could clear them or not. I went to this counter and seemed like they offer order to cook hot food. The staff/chef didn't even smile or talk to me and then was looking at me waiting for me to order just by looking at the menu on the table. The food was also quite lacking considering its a business lounge. Not sure if this lounge is less frequented by people so everything tends to be lesser, even a bar. Not sure if there are facilities/services available but I just see a lot of seats which are unoccupied. Food was quite average there was nothing to shout about. Hence I thought I should just give another try and visit another lounge instead. I also read some reviews that this is a more inferior lounge compared to the Pier where everything is much better there.

Great airline lounge. Plentiful of food and beverage choices. Their wanton noodle and dan dan mien are good. Excellent service by the staff.
