On the Grid : Gravlax

"Skol! Scandanavian cuisine in the heart of Los Angeles? Hej, we ain't complaining. With the influx of Swedish digital production studios also comes the taste of their homeland. Gravlax feels like stepping inside a dark, cozy cafe in Stockholm and the food is true to the aesthetic with gravlax (duh), shrimp toasts and herring among other traditional Scandi dishes." - Italic Studio

This might be the saddest salad I've ever seen. If only my "salad" looked like the ones in the (other) pictures. It's bad enough you left out HALF of the ingredients I ordered, but how about including some lettice in the bowl?! I mean, look - there's virtually none & the bowl is half empty!! The only reason you're not getting ONE star is that the bread is really good & what I did get with the salad, was pretty tasty (sans the tomatoes, cucumbers AND lettuce)...

Reason for visiting: pick up dinner before heading over to my buddy's Date/time of visit: Monday night, ~8:00 PM Parking: in the adjacent lot, shared with other businesses Party size:2 Environment/ambience: a little loud, not too busy. No TVs. Mixed crowd. It's setup like Chipotle; a Mediterranean Chipotle 😀 Service: was good. Pretty quick. Food: I had the chicken pita wrap with pickled onions, corn, and the green sauce. They drenched my pita in sauce so once I got to eat it, it was about messy. The pita was still good though. The bottled root beer was good too. I wanted to get pita with hummus but they only have pita chips or one large pita, no small pita slices/pieces that can be used to dip with hummus. I guess you can just get a pita and rip it to dip (didn't think of it at the time) Cost: ~$30 for 2 people

I hope they have more franchises is many places. Really a good one. Good competition to chipotle

Remember trying this back when I was going to school in Westwood and thought it was the perfect day to try it again, was not disappointed! The ingredients are fresh, service is fast, and the result is delicious. Payed a little extra for the lamb meatballs and I think it was worth it. I recommend loading up on the unlimited sides for more bang for your buck! Also they have outdoor seating on the road now which is great for golden hour.

I love CAVA. But I went to this location for the first time on a rainy day. Parking was hard. I sensed that they might be under staff or they need a better system to speed up the service a bit. Especially when I KNOW how great the work flow can it be at CAVA, like downtown LA USC campus, Pasadena, even in other states. The food was good. I had better CAVA bowls :) I still appreciate they have one here in downtown Culver City.

Love the greens and grains bowls. Spicy lamb meatballs or the braised lamb; both excellent protein options but they also have chicken and vegetarian options. One of my new favorite places!

Cava was a great find for me. Wherever you are in downtown Culver City, take time to try CAVA. It is like Tender Greens in that you stand in line and order. The difference is that this is about Mediterranean bowls. Really tasty food. I was a newbie and chose a curated bowl, but they will put together whatever you want. Definitely try CAVA.

Cava is the best. Not much else to say except PLEASE KEEP THE SWEET POTATOES ON THE MENU. Everything I've had from CAVA has been amazing. Every pita, every bowl. Always a good experience.

Yelp
Love the food and service every time I go. Great fast casual option when shopping around the area. Carlos helped me and was very welcoming.

Yelp
I came back in today after work and I just had to leave another review, the customer service at this location is always amazing. David L. is always so helpful and friendly! I'm never disappointed with the service he provides, will continue coming back to this location!

Yelp
Cava cava cava!! You are the one for me when it comes to Mediterranean. The fact that they compare cava to chipotle is an insult. It people did simple research they would notice that Cava uses fresh ingredients and no seed oils only for the pita chips! The portions!!! *chefs kiss* pita on the side? Yes! Their drink selection so goood! Try the blue berry soda is great! Staff are great always hustling and bustling. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. It's always been clean the past two visits we have gone. They work so efficiently that yea you may see a line but it moves pretty quickly. We're definitely returning as this is our new go to spot.

Yelp
Dear Management at Cava-Culver City, I am writing to formally share my recent and deeply disappointing experience at your Culver City location on 7/22/2025. Last night, my aunt and I encountered extremely rude and unprofessional behavior from two male employees--neither of whom were wearing name tags. I requested extra pickled onions, and one of them dismissively responded, "I mean, this is all we have left." When my aunt later asked for the same item, he stated, "She took them all," referring to me. She asked if there were any in the back and he said no. That was hard to believe. This interaction occurred despite the restaurant still having over two hours left until closing. I asked why he was being so rude, especially since it was my aunt's first time visiting your establishment, and she was not receiving a welcoming experience. The man at the register, who initially claimed to be the manager, spoke with the rude employee and then said, "It's something wrong with her," referring to me. A young female employee apologized and mentioned they were having a tough day, which I appreciated. As my aunt attempted to express her concerns to the supposed "manager," he continued to cut her off repeatedly, saying, "Anything else?" When I asked for the name of the rude employee, the man refused, claiming he could not provide it. My aunt pointed out that all other employees had visible name tags except those two, so the refusal felt evasive. My aunt then requested extra steak (fully aware of the additional charge), and the man refused. Once again, the young female staff member stepped in and said that extra toppings were available with an additional cost--something we were more than willing to pay. When I informed them I would be contacting corporate, the man who had earlier said he was the manager suddenly backtracked and said he was the "culinary something"--I don't recall the exact title. Regardless, the conflicting statements were confusing and unprofessional. We were the only African American customers in the restaurant at the time, aside from one staff member. While I am not quick to assume motives, the lack of respect and dismissive tone we received makes me question if our treatment was influenced by bias. Whether intentional or not, the service we received was unacceptable, unethical, and far from the standard I have come to expect--especially compared to the exceptional service I consistently receive at your USC location. Attached are the receipt and photos of the two male employees involved. I was not given the correct management information, I have had to use my own searching on Google. I hope this message gets routed to the appropriate department. I sincerely hope this matter is addressed with seriousness. Customers deserve to be treated with basic respect and courtesy--especially when raising valid concerns. Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to hearing back from you regarding the steps that will be taken to prevent this from happening. **I am posting the letter written because I can not find any corporate info for Cava online & the employees would not give any info **

Yelp
Gotta love Cava! I've been sleeping on this place for so long but glad I've finally tried it. It's Mediterranean Chipotle, but feels so much healthier IMO. My dietician recommended a cleaner diet with increased greens and grains, so this is now my guilty pleasure for a lazy no cook kind of day. I know some of the spreads and sauces are fatty and not the most healthy, but man that Crazy Feta is absolutely irresistible! Also, thanks to the employees for your hard work. Busy rush hour definitely looks like a tough time, but y'all keep it together with good communication and professionalism. Don't ever close, CAVA!

Yelp
Love cava so much! Their bowls are so filling and so yummy. Service is fast and the workers are nice. Inside can be pretty loud and seating can feel crowded with all the customers waiting in line, but outside seating is nice.

Yelp
Amazing people! Love coming here for lunch! And super fast service. I work down the street and it's just convenient to walk to.

Yelp
Falafel wrap was mid as all hell. But the falafel bowl? ALL SORTS OF YUMMY. I ordered delivery, and truly can't wait to again.

Yelp
Was visiting from NorCal and wanted to stop by a Cava as my friends from SoC have always talked about it! I downloaded the app and ordered online so that specifying what I wanted would be easier. My friends got a Harissa Avocado bowl and Greek Pita, while I made my own salad bowl. Everything was ready by the time we came to pick up. Food was definitely solid, I wouldn't be raving about it but in my opinion would definitely choose Cava over other Build Your Own options like Chipotle! My favorite things were the pita crisps that actually stayed crispy after being mixed with sauce and the skhug dressing!

Yelp
Quick and easy service!! I was in and out of the CAVA. Team was really kind and the food is always so good!
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered a bowl online and I get home to find that it's missing half the ingredients I requested. No tomatoes, no pickled onions, no cucumbers, no hummus. Is it really that hard to follow the directions on an order? Last time I went here the lentils were undercooked significantly. I think I'm done giving this spot chances.
google avatar

Frankie A.

Yelp
It's the best of all the chipotle style food prep/ service models. It's soo tasty, filling, and great quality.
google avatar

Nikki B.

Yelp
If I could give this Cava and especially David L. 20 stars I absolutely would! I always get the best, carefully made bowl and David L. stays with the best recommendations for dips and protein combos! Will always be back for that

Yelp
This is definitely like a Mediterranean Chipotle. It's delicious. They have wraps or bowls. I wanted to try everything but couldn't of course. What I did get was pretty interesting. Black lentils and arugula in a bowl with their glazed honey chicken and steak, a long with several toppings, mostly the spicy ones. And baba ghanouj (eggplant). It was awesome. They give a lot for a good price. It's reasonably healthy. Their taps and iced teas are all house made too I believe. If parking in the area weren't so annoying and I lived closer I'd be a regular. Well, if I weren't broke that is.

Yelp
I heard about Cava but hadn't had the chance to get to one with a busy schedule I have. This past Friday a close friend invited me to have lunch at Cava! It was better then what I expected! I had a delicious salad and it was so filing I went home full. The Ambiance was warm and relaxing as we sat on the patio out front. I will definitely return and invited more people I know to enjoy the experience! 10 out of 10! No pictures because I was to busy enjoying myself

Yelp
Food was delicious! S/out to ALAN! He was super helpful, friendly service, and looked ready to give great hospitality.

Yelp
I finallyyyyy went to Cava after hearing about it for a while. This is literally the Mediterranean version of Chipotle, but it's so much better. I got a custom bowl and added so many goodies. The options were endless. I got a side of the garlic pita chips, and the cucumber mint drink. My food was amazing! Extremely rich, and full of flavor. I can't wait to go back. I'd probably go to the Santa Monica one, as it's near my office. My rating: 9/10. I would've given it 10/10, but it's because of the very long wait. I can understand why though.

Steve H.

Yelp
Always delicious and friendly staff. The spicy lamb avocado bowl is tough to beat. If you are looking for a burger or pizza alternative that is much healthier this is the place.

Melina G.

Yelp
Amazing portions Carlos was very nice and helpful ! Recommend this location . Clean lobby as well

Yelp
Everytime I go to Cava I pray David is there. I have nothing but good things to say about him. David is very welcoming, kind, and efficient at preparing orders. David always makes my day that much better by simply asking how I'm doing and relating to me in a way most others don't. He not only cares about his job, he cares about the customer's experience as well. Thank you David!

Cesar B.

Yelp
Came in and Bri provided the best customer service I've ever received. It was my first time in this establishment and she was very kind and helpful in her recommendations for me. 12/10 would recommend this place!
google avatar

Cindy L.

Yelp
Love this cava location! The food is always fresh and the mobile orders are prepared quickly. The employees are friendly and they move the line quickly. The only downside is parking. You have to find parking in one of the various lots. So prepared to walk or to have someone jump out and pick up your order. There is plenty outside not inside.
google avatar

Ashley H.

Yelp
I love cava! The service here is always quick and friendly. The kids pita is such a great deal for $8 with tax. I love the original grilled chicken and the hummus. I always get the balsamic date and the garlic sauces too. When it's warmer I like to eat on the patio but inside is nice too!
google avatar

Jie G.

Yelp
We always love Cava and this one is no exception. I tried the Greek chicken pita and it was awesome! The pita bread tastes healthy and chewy (in a good way). The grilled chicken with yogurt and veggies (cucumber, onion) is filling and juicy. The only thing is eating pita is a bit messy as the sauce keeps dripping. Wish they can make a true pita bread where the bread can pocket the food lol.

Yelp
I love cava, I went this morning and I got the best service from Brianna she was so helpful and really nice. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
The service was great, Henry was serving us and not once was annoyed as we sampled multiple things and asked for servings that were not yet ready. He was kind. Also very clean in The bathrooms, interior and patio (bathrooms are cleaned hourly). food was excellent and seasoned!!
google avatar

Brandon S.

Yelp
Awesome service, Cava lines are now Chipotle long. But, the line moves at a quick pace, and better and healthier food! Shout out to the crew for making that an easy experience!

Yelp
Welcome to Cava in Culver City! I love the vibes of this location's area in downtown Culver City. Cava has plenty of outdoor seating, too. I am starting to appreciate the quality of the ingredients at Cava and how fresh everything tastes, such as the meat and produce. For my meal, I opted for their make-your-own bowl with double chicken, rice, and greens. I also added hummus and Tzatziki sauce to give the bowl some flavor. The price of double chicken was reasonable, ranging from $16-$18. However, the only downside was that the employees at this location seemed to be in a bad mood as the guy appeared annoyed when my girlfriend and I asked questions.
google avatar

Jamie C.

Yelp
A great mediterranean alternative to Chipotle. Definitely feels healthy and lighter than your typical assembly meal, but they can go a little too heavy on the sauces. Relative to other 'build your own' restaurants, Cava has a great price point, especially considering the rarer ingredients they use. I frequent this place when I'm in need for an inexpensive, quick and relatively healthy meal.
google avatar

Robert D.

Yelp
One of my favorite places. Immediately as you walk in you are welcomed. Always clean, always friendly and always fresh. With so many options available there's always potential for new flavors and experiences.

Yelp
Cava has quickly become our favorite weekend lunch place! Everything on the menu is delicious and healthy. It's like a Mediterranean Chipotle, where you can choose which ingredients you want, and Cava will put it together for you. My favorite item is the Crispy Falafel Pita, while boyfriend loves the Spicy Lamb Meatball Pita. The pita bread is fresh and soft, stuffed full of delicious ingredients, like pickles, pickled onions, tomatoes, and wonderful sauces. We love them all. Our favorite drink is the Cucumber Mint Lime Lemonade. I could drink it all day, every day. You can choose your own bowl or wrap, of course, or add to their standard items, but we get the pitas as is, and they're great. Come early or be prepared to stand in a line.

Adam A.

Yelp
great customer service and their lemonades are really good. David L helped me find what i wanted for my first time being here.

Jasmine U.

Yelp
What happened to the serving sizes? I'm paying $12-15 for half a bowl these days! Where's my protein?
google avatar

Israel G.

Yelp
Service and food was great would suggest the chicken fresh because it may get cold !!

David G.

Yelp
Food and staff were amazing! Thank you to Carlos and Ashley for helping me build my bowl and providing delicious options!

Yelp
I love this spot in person and had been meaning to review it from the last time i went. The customer service and helpful employees with everything i usually want is great. I made the mistake of working and thinking I'd get close to in person service through Uber eats. The driver was great but i opened the bowl and there literally wasn't any meat. The positive was Uber eats fully refunding it.

Zach B.

Yelp
DAVID L IS THE GOAT!! i am definitely coming back for some more cava. his recommendations were top tier

Yelp
SOLID FOOD! Okay service. My dad and I stopped by here last Sunday around 4 pm to pick up a quick, early dinner. Surprisingly, there were a fair amount of people outside eating and a few people coming in and out to order. I got a "Build Your Own Bowl" and my dad got a "Spicy Lamb Meatball Pita." I have had Cava at other locations and this was my dad's first time. The food is always great! Always consistent in flavor and portions, and my dad enjoyed it! The FRIED PITA CHIPS are a must if you are getting a bowl! Service was a bit slow as I think they were understaffed, but still overall good! Parking was easy as there is a nearby park with a fair amount of public street parking within a block. Do not park in the close parking lot, as it is not associated with Cava!
google avatar

Deni B.

Yelp
Starting this review by saying I LOVE Cava. This location has juts consistently missed the mark. I've been before in person and the food is still tasty even if the location is absolutely filthy. But I'm finally writing this review after ordering Uber Eats from this location the other day. My bowl flat out was just rice and main (roasted vegetables), none of the toppings were included whatsoever. And no pita, even though I selected it in the app. They are sloppy and it's not worth it, especially to get delivery. UberEats only gave me $5 back which was not adequate compensation if you ask me. There were not other options to discuss with a person or the store. All in all, come in person if you want to brave it. Otherwise, steer clear. And let's hope the new location coming to Century City will be better!!
google avatar

Damon T.

Yelp
Shout out to the home team! Really grateful for Alyssa and Hendrix for being amazing vibes and for my guys Henry and Saul for treating me like an extended Cava Family Member. This shift rocks!!! And the FOOD WAS AMAZING!

Itzel G.

Yelp
First time on Friday my sister invited me to cava for my first time ... I loved it good was so tasty... service was not great... clean area to sit down & eat ..

Michelle C.

Yelp
Staff was very welcoming, and service provided was quick. Would definitely recommend this location. :)
google avatar

Rachel Z.

Yelp
The food here was absolutely amazing. I have had Cava multiple times at a different location but came here for the first time and it was better than any I've had before. I did have to let it sit for a while before I had the time to actually eat it, possibly factoring into the flavor, but otherwise, the best. The interior is spacious which is very nice as well. I ordered online so there wasn't any interaction. The only downside to it is limited parking or street parking, with very busy streets around, taking me an hour round trip for just 4 miles.
google avatar

Mira D.

Yelp
my first time finally trying cava! came at noon on a monday and the line was very short. there's a nice outdoor seating area with umbrellas for shade. i got the $12.05 bowl and customized it -- splended greens, saffron rice, grilled chicken, tzatziki, eggplant, harissa, all the vegetables, and garlic dressing on the side. it was very flavorful and felt healthy. next time i'd use more of the dressing and less dips. a good filling meal for a decent price. i will definitely get cava again when i'm in a city that has it. they need to make one in the bay area!
google avatar

Jon M.

Yelp
I am a big CAVA fan and enjoyed them in Phoenix now back in LA. This one in Culver City is another winner. The seating is great with plenty of booths as well as a nice patio and it's even near a nice park. I had the meatball pita sandwich and Greek salad. The salad was very large with plenty of delicious chicken, kalamata olives, feta cheese and hummus. It was one of the best I ever had. I also really like their drinks. The blueberry soda is my fav. Service bowl craftsperson Ruth was great. Manager Matt is also very cool. . Highly recommended

Caden B.

Yelp
I love CAVA, mainly due to David L. He was super nice and helped us find exactly what we were looking for! 10/10 :)
google avatar

Veronica L.

Yelp
I came in to pick up my online order. It said ready, but it wasn't. There were only two bags, one labeled, one not, so I was checking. A staff member spoke to me in a rude, condescending tone for no reason. It's just a pickup order, not even a dine-in or custom request. Her attitude ruined my night. I won't be coming back to this location. Do better.
google avatar

Kelly D.

Yelp
Cava is essentially a Mediterranean Chipotle, but it has better ingredients and is super delish. If you've never had Cava, try it! I usually opt for a make-your-own bowl with greens + grains. You then get to choose three dips, your protein (either full or half/half), a variety of toppings, and two dressings. You also get a free pita so don't be shy to ask because sometimes they forget. This store had a good amount of tables but a lot of people ordered for pick-up.
google avatar

Garet A.

Yelp
Great food and customer service every time I go! Can never go wrong with any of the options. I usually go with the harissa avocado bowl.
