Cava - Review - Hialeah - Miami - The Infatuation

"The popular Mediterranean chain makes its Miami debut in, of all places, Hialeah. They have preset bowls with spicy lamb, falafel, and steak. You can also build your own. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Mariana Trabanino

I was super excited when I heard that CAVA was opening in south Florida. I’ve tried this chain in Orlando and I have always loved their flavors! My visit to this location in Hialeah gardens was good, I came early right when they first opened because I knew in advance that the lines were going to be packed. Service was quick and the food was delicious. However, the portions were a bit small. Wish they could put a little more in the bowls.

Nice customer service. Love all the options. The braised lamb threw me off because it had a strong curry flavor. Lowkey ruined my bowl. Wish I known it was curry flavor. The garlicky chicken shwarma taste like so much turmeric and cold. Love the pita chips. I’ll definitely come back but I’ll try different proteins.

Google
Tastiest bowls in the area 🔥 It’s a bit pricier than Chipotle, and a bit less food, but all in all it’s totally worth it. You’ll be more than satisfied with it. The bowls are highly customizable and literally everything you can put on them is delicious. Service is fast and the atmosphere is great and clean as well. CAVA is hard to beat. Will definitely be coming back here 👍

Google
We tried Cava for the first time and honestly, I get the hype! The staff was super friendly and patient while I figured out what to order. The restaurant itself was really clean and had a fresh vibe. The food tasted so light but still filling — you can tell everything is fresh and not heavy or greasy. Definitely feels like a healthier option without sacrificing flavor. We’ll be going back for sure!

Cava: A Flavorful Mediterranean Gem in Hialeah Highland Shoppes Brand new within the Hialeah Highland Shoppes is a delightful newcomer, Cava, which offers a fresh and flavorful take on Mediterranean cuisine. As a first-time visitor, I was pleasantly surprised by the concept – a customizable experience where you can build your own bowls and pitas from a vibrant array of ready-made ingredients, or opt for their thoughtfully curated menu. My choice, the Harissa Spicy Honey Avocado pita, was an absolute standout. The combination of creamy avocado with the sweet and spicy harissa honey was simply divine – a perfect balance of textures and tastes that left me wanting more. What's also noteworthy is the efficiency and ease of ordering. Everything is prepared and on display, allowing for quick customization to your liking. This makes Cava an ideal spot for a speedy yet satisfying lunch or dinner, whether you choose to dine in their cozy space or grab it for takeout. Beyond the delicious food, Cava also boasts a selection of unique beverages that perfectly complement their Mediterranean fare. While the restaurant itself isn't large, it exudes a welcoming and intimate atmosphere. If you're looking for a tasty and convenient Mediterranean option in Hialeah, Cava is definitely worth a visit. It's a refreshing addition to the local food scene and a place I'll certainly be returning to for another Harissa Spicy Honey Avocado pita!

Came on the second day it open , went around noon and they ran out of avocado and white rice already. I’m happy they added cava here in south fl, their food is amazing ! And pita chips are a must. Their portion are less than other location I’ve been too, not sure because it’s was pack the first couple of days. They service is good, did wait a good 10 minutes in line but worth it.

Google
I’m so happy Cava finally opened in Miami. I love the concept of offering fresh Mediterranean food in a fast-casual setting. I ordered the Lamb Avocado Bowl and it was absolutely delicious. Flavorful, filling, and super fresh. They offer a great variety of bases like salad or rice, different protein options, and a ton of tasty sides and toppings to customize your bowl just how you like it. Keep in mind they just opened so the lines can be a bit long, but honestly, it’s worth the wait. They also offer pickup service. Can’t wait to come back and try more.

Google
Cava, cava, cava 🤤 I drove from downtown Miami to Hialeah to try this food and they did not disappoint. It was tasty, healthy and the portion size is great! You have to try the homemade pita chips…best thing I’ve tasted in awhile. The variety of lemonades and teas were good until it ran out right before it was turn. The only drawback was the long line and the few seating arrangements. If there’s an empty seat you have to let a party member sit there to hold it. But then they can’t order their own food if they’re holding a seat😔. Good news is I was told they’re opening two new locations in Aventura and Brickell. I’m excited about that. I just hope the layout can afford to accommodate the traffic in those areas. Overall, I’ll give Cava 10/10 thumbs up 👍🏾 try them, you won’t be disappointed.

Yelp
This was my first time trying CAVA in Hialeah and honestly, I was impressed. The food was super fresh, flavorful, and way better than I expected for a quick spot. The bowls are packed with a lot of options so you can mix it up how you like, and everything tasted like it was made with care. The portions were generous, so you actually leave full without feeling heavy. The staff was friendly and helped me through the menu since it was my first visit, which made the whole experience even better. The place itself is clean and has a nice vibe -- easy to sit down and enjoy, but also great if you just want to grab something quick. I'll definitely be coming back. It's rare to find somewhere that feels both fast and healthy without sacrificing taste.

Yelp
I finally got to try out Cava for the first time in South Florida! This one is located in Hialeah. We ordered take out and didn't get to enjoy the actual location but service was pretty good. I got a build my own bowl and the bowl itself was great! They had a lot of options and you can picked from either pre-set bowls or make your own. I'm excited to hopefully eat here one day when I'm in the area but the takeout experience was good!

Yelp
This new "paint by the numbers" restaurant serving healthy and tasty Mediterranean food is one of the newest in the Hialeah Heights development. I remember the first couple of weeks after they opened, it was really packed, with lines out the door, so I decided to wait until things cleared up to go visit. They have about three or four standard bowls that can be customized, as well as a "make your own" bowl deal. They also sell the same dishes in a pita wrap version. I ordered their harissa chicken bowl with hot honey, and enjoyed it; the meat tasted fresh, and it certainly did have a little bit of a sweet heat. Since I was going to the gym afterwards, I didn't try any soda, although I did see that they have fruit-based sodas, not the commercial stuff. I just had water. The space look pretty clean, and well lit from both inside lighting as well as large windows/storefront. There was an annoying alarm going on which based on what I'm reading another reviews might have been from them setting up or new building set up issues, but it was certainly annoying.

Yelp
2nd review. Food is always good. Service was fast but enough seating to sit and enjoy our meal.

Yelp
One of my friends is obsessed with Cava and when she told me one opened up in Miami I knew I had to see what the hype was about! I had heard that the wait times were very long so I decided to place an order for pick-up online. I loved how easy it was to place my order and how pick-up times were as short as 15-20 minutes from the moment I placed my order. The best way I can describe this restaurant is like a Mediterranean Chipotle. They offer grain bowls, grain/salad bowls, and wraps. I really enjoyed building my bowl and was (good)overwhelmed by the amount of options in dips, sauces, and toppings. I made my bowl with saffron rice, supegreens, and honey chicken (with many toppings) and it was delicious and filling. Please make sure to order the pita chips. They complete the meal! The only downfall is that they are very pricey in my opinion. I will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
There was so much hoopla about this place opening in Hialeah that I came by today because I was in the area. I was surprised to see that they were out of almost every meat. Signs were posted at the front door and on the glass before ordering. I still forged ahead and ordered the bowl with the falafel. The food was good. I felt the toppings were fresh and I did appreciate the number of toppings available to add to your bowl. I would probably go back if I'm in the area but I would wait until the craze of this place dies down a bit. They need to work out some of their operational issues first.

Yelp
So I have no pictures because I devoured my food, I wasn't no time. The food was delicious to say the least, I was surprised because it seemed like a chipotle style so I was expecting, you know, typical fast food. However it was full of flavors and there's so many options to choose from between the so many types of meat, veggies, rice or lettuce or BOTH, hummus, dressings, and you can make your own bowl. Definitely try the house made juices or lemonades it's very good and not too sweet. Service was a liiiitttlleee slow like if they are still trying to find their rhythm (because this place is brand new) but nothing to take away a whole star. Ambiance is nice, just really small there's not a lot of seats only about three or four tables inside and then four little tables outside. It was great and I am definitely coming back! It's worth a visit!

Yelp
They finally opened a Cava in Miami. Build your own bowl is the way to go! Everything is fresh. The portion sizes are excellent. Everything is clean and efficient. My only tip is to get the sauces on the side. You can't go wrong otherwise!
google avatar

Amy N.

Yelp
The food taste amazing if you are looking to try Mediterranean food. The style is similar to Chipotle, where you can choose your bowl and customize. It was my first time trying Mediterranean food, so I got a kids meal and there were being very kind about it. For the price and quality of the food is very delicious. The customer service is amazing, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the food. The ambiance is nice, they recently open, but manage to have the customers waiting very organized and is an open kitchen so you can see how the food is made. The lemonade is so yummy, they also make it fresh everyday too. The bathroom is gender neutral, and although the restaurant is very busy they manage to have a clean bathroom!

Yelp
I absolutely love cava!!! The staff are super friendly and help with any questions that are asked. The food is delicious. I loved the harissa honey chicken and all of their delicious sauces. The pita chips were also really good. The lavender drink is great ( I love lavender ) but might be a bit heavy on the lavender for those who don't love it as much. The cookies are also really good. The seating is a different story. There is VERY limited indoor seating for this restaurant. So keep that in mind when going.

Yelp
So happy we have a local CAVA now! I wouldn't get the meatballs they served me 4 meatballs total and I got the braised lamb soo good. Of course it's super new so expect delays for lunch time and less portions but still worth it! The pitas are always a must!

Yelp
Take CAVA out of hialeah. The workers are nasty. I had the worst experience ever there. The cashier givonna was digging in her nose. Handlings food without gloves, Using a dirty rag to wipe around the sauces and it feel in the feta cheese tops. The ran out of chicken and had the line backed up and was talking over everyone food. To add the icing on the cake you had another employee eating pieces of meat that was left behind on the table. Where they prepared the meat to be served to the customers. Everything was contaminated as this point. Yall just open and already the worst. I had such a better experience in Orlando and they are always packed with customers. The was the worst location area to place the establishment. I would rather take the Brightline train to Orlando than visit that place again and I was so hyped up to have a location in Miami and it lead to complete disappointment and disgust. It also smelled bad as soon as I walked in.

Yelp
Ordered through Uber Eats and loved the bowl, the only issue was the avocado was hard.

Lesley T.

Yelp
This Cava is so good! The employees are super nice ! The food is extremely good! The ambiance was well! I went a little before closing but they still served us with great attitudes and Ash was super polite and even gave us a freebie drink on the house for it being our first time! Love her!! Will definitely be coming back!

Tenneth N.

Yelp
I've been a regular at this CAVA location for quite some time, and up until today, I've always had positive experiences. But what I witnessed this time completely changed my view. A manager named Rey yelled at one of his employees in front of several customers -- including myself -- over something as small as giving me a water cup, which I ended up using for soda. While I understand there may be policies in place, the way he handled it was completely out of line. Instead of addressing the situation calmly or privately, he chose to publicly berate his employee in a loud and aggressive tone. It was not only uncomfortable to witness, but also incredibly unprofessional. No manager should be mistreating their staff like that -- especially not in front of customers. A healthy work environment starts with leadership, and what I saw from Rey today was anything but respectful or supportive. This kind of behavior leaves a bad taste, and it's not something I expected from a place I used to enjoy visiting.

Alex P.

Yelp
The food is not your traditional, so that's a win! The several times that we've ordered and picked up has been a breeze!!!

Isabella C.

Yelp
Good food amazing service this location just opened in Hialeah and I'm so happy I finally got to try it

Yelp
The line doesn't move. The ordering is way too complicated. Too many build your own means with items to decide.

Yelp
I've been to cava a few times, and this place is no different. The service is top-notch, the food is excellent , and the portions are huge. It's a newer spot, so it was packed when I went, but the food was still amazing, and the place was clean and welcoming.

Yelp
Amazing food love the fresh ingredients and something new and different in town Super excited to keep coming back Service was excellent Thank you For an interesting experience

Emma H.

Yelp
The food it's excellent specially the falafel, the different sauces are delicious, and the pita bread as side had seasoning and was hot. I'm very pleased with the service. This was my first time here and the girls that were serving my food was very kind and helpful. The ambiance was nice not crowded. The place it's small, but clean and you can eat outside they have tables and chairs. I'll definitely be back to try other plates.

Kassandra M.

Yelp
Food is so delicious and fresh. The line was long but it moved pretty quickly. I enjoy all the options and sauces. There isn't much seating but I do love that they have outdoor seating with umbrellas. Would definitely recommend. Great lunch spot!

Mikey S.

Yelp
I've been here three times and I have not had a bad experience, food is so good and well priced they give amazing portions and the workers are nice. Made this my go to lunch Spot. As long as they keep the portions, the same and the food stays fresh how it is I think this is one of the best lunch spots in the area right now. Highly recommend. The inside is also very clean and well kept. You just need to have a little bit of patience when going there, sometimes they can get full but the workers do not slack their moving and doing a lot.

Yelp
Ordered a bowl the other night. It was fine. The chicken tasted just like chipotle. Not really sure what all the hype is about. Definitely not worth the wait.

Brandon F.

Yelp
Cava is really good and I come here pretty often and I would give it 5 stars but the only reason I don't is because the customer service here is a hit or miss. It's either great service and they make sure you're good, or they seem very careless and serious. I'm usually always asked if I'm taking my food to go or dining in but sometimes they give me the bowl and make me have to ask for the bag and than put the food in the bag myself. Overall everything is good just the service is what needs some work.

Jen A.

Yelp
I've tried this location 4 times. It has been busy all 4 times. Each time, the line moved so slowly, not because of the number of customers, but rather due to poor service. Here's what I mean: every time I have gone, the employee working the line asks me what I want, and as soon as I begin my order, the employee either walks away to help someone else or begins talking to some other employee. This is extremely frustrating. Either you are ready to help me or you're not, but if you aren't, please don't ask me to begin the order if you are going to ignore me. And considering that at least 3 people work down the line, this process of being interrupted travels down the line with my bowl. Additionally, instead of having someone in charge of restocking/refilling/restocking the line OR instead of the person working the line realizing that they are running low on X ingredient and asking for more BEFORE it runs too low or runs out, they wait until it is all gone before asking for more. This stalls the line and adds to slow service. It's as if no one is being proactive. Of the 4x I have been there, I have seen the manager standing by idly speaking to employees. This is not a good look for the restaurant and might explain the lackadaisical attitude of some of the other employees. Keeping in mind that the restaurant has been busy each time I've gone, he could be more involved in either ensuring items on the line are replenished or simply being more hands-on. Perhaps he could have tidied up the drink station, as it has been a mess all 4x I've been there. Maybe he can be welcoming guests or thanking them for coming. And maybe he shouldn't be eating where all the customers can see him. I've worked in restaurants and that is a big no-no. Today, there were no napkins. When I asked the cashier for some, she looked confused. Another cashier busted out a pack of Publix napkins and gave me some, but didn't go to the napkin dispensers to fill them, so basically we all have to ask for napkins with our food. The group in front of me asked for 4 water cups, only to be told there were none. Yet later when I was eating, I saw some people who had ordered after us with water cups. The cashier was clueless. Cashiers also don't know how to ring up items correctly. Today, she tried to charge me extra for avocado even though I ordered a harissa AVOCADO bowl. Last time, the cashier tried to charge me for the pita that comes with a bowl. It is imperative that the employees receive adequate training. The only ones who seemed to be working well were the cooks. I have yet to see a dining room attendant. There are only 4 tables inside, so there's not much to clean, but trash bins are always overflowing (both inside and specially outside), utensils are not refilled. Speaking of the harissa avocado bowl, I have had that item 4x and each time it was made differently even though the employees have a "cheat sheet" telling them of the ingredients. The food is great. I'd just like some consistency in how my bowl is made. 3 of the 4 times I've gone, they have been out of corn and super greens. Twice there was no brown rice and when I asked how long it would take to make some, I was told there was none. I will continue to frequent this location even though it is far from me because the food is good. However, there is still much to improve in the area of customer service and training. Kudos to those who have been doing their job well. This location has been open over a month. By now, the kinks should be worked out.

Monica M.

Yelp
I place my order online . It said that will be ready at 8:45 pm. I arrived on time after drive 25 min from home because I really like the food, the line to pick up was insane. They should not be taking orders if they don't have the personal to have the orders ready. It a shame the a new place just started like that. If you do not want to lose your time go to the near places.

Fvzion S.

Yelp
So happy Cava is finally in Miami!! Food was so good and staff was so friendly! Highly recommend

Tonya G.

Yelp
Food is awesome! Ashley (and the entire staff) is the best. The entire restaurant is always clean. Even during peak hours, they are friendly and professional.

John V.

Yelp
I've watched a million videos online of people ordering cava and they always get a good portion of protein. I went today and I swear to god they literally gave me less than half a scoop of chicken. LESS THEN HALF A SCOOP OF CHICKEN FOR $14. I promise it was like 5 smalls pieces of shredded / diced chicken like something you can it 1 bite. I rather just take my money to chipotle where they actually give u a full scoop. Horrible

Caroline R.

Yelp
I went to CAVA for the very first time. I have been so excited that they are opening a location in my area. Everyone was very nice except for SARAH. I asked for double protein and she gave me a lot less, and on top of that she gave me four fucking tomatoes and when i asked for me she told the person next to her to up-charge me for the tomatoes. Which is crazy because they are unlimited. I will never go back to CAVA again because of this experience.
