Parkview Tavern Is Staying Put — For Now | Eater New Orleans

"I learned that Cava, the nationwide cult-favorite Mediterranean chain known for build-your-own grain bowls with toppings like falafel, braised lamb, and harissa honey chicken, plans to open its first location in Orleans Parish at 5001 Freret Street, taking over a now-closed City Greens spot." - Clair Lorell

Update: I consider myself a regular customer now. Still enjoying the variety, vibe and atmosphere. Highly recommend. 1st time Visitor: Blown away with the variety of healthy options. My bowl was absolutely delicious & filling. Every morsel was a burst of flavor and fresh. Excellent customer service. I will definitely return.😋

We had a scrumptious lunch at Cava. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. My grilled chicken bowl with rice - avocado was outstanding. The pita chips and dips were so yummy. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

Amazing experience at CAVA! Stopped in for a falafel bowl and it did not disappoint. Heaven everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly put together. The falafel was crispy, the toppings were seasoned just right, and the sauces tied the whole bowl together. On top of that, the service was excellent — quick, friendly, and super attentive. You can really tell the staff care about what they’re doing. Definitely one of the best CAVA visits I’ve had. I’ll be back! 🥙💚

This is the worse Cava location ever! Every time I TRYYYY to give them a chance it gets worse and worse. I ordered my 20mins before arrive to be ready at 8:45pm. I arrived at 8:46pm and me and other customers are waiting by the pick up area to be told “Yall we haven’t started your order but we are about to” the girl had 5+ order lids in her hand to make. As I watched her make mine from a far I seen that she put the smallest ingredient of everything and barely any lettuce and the bowl was half empty. She bagged my bowl and put it to the side and when I asked her if that was mine said said “yeah” I asked if she could add more lettuce and she looked annoyed. Then I noticed she never put my free pita on top and when I attached for that she was also annoyed. When I got home I noticed ALLLLL the lettuce I had from bottom to top was old and wilted and I was missing ingredients. My meal was $21 but not worth its at all. This location is always understaffed, the ingredients are always messy and the service SUCKS. Just don’t go to this one

I have recently moved to the area and this location is walking distance from my house. The Freret strip has many options but yet I have found Cava to be my go to. The food is always fresh. The customer service is top tier. Tonight I debated about what I wanted to eat and decided it would be Cava again. The young lady Heaven was so welcoming and accommodating.

I had a very disappointing experience during my recent visit. I normally enjoy Cava, but this was my first time at this location and it completely missed the mark. The store was understaffed, and the food quality was awful—the greens were so wilted that I ended up throwing the bowl away. I reached out to support to request a refund, but they denied it and offered only a comp bowl to use within 60 days. As I told the representative, if the first bowl wasn’t edible, offering me another one isn’t a real solution. At this point, I think it might be best to take a break from Cava. I’ve spent enough money for an experience like this.

This new fast causal restaurant on Freret is such a treat. The staff is lovely! Marley was particularly helpful in helping me figure out what I wanted to order for my first time there. The food is flavorful and service is extremely quick. A bonus are the great lemonades options as drinks!

I spent $40 on my order, only to receive a bowl with just rice and sauce. None of the other items I paid for were included. I didn’t even order right before closing at 10 PM—I placed my order at 8 PM, so there’s no excuse for this.
