"This space, formerly a stable for horses, has been converted into a modern, elegant restaurant that has managed to maintain vestiges of its past. Following time spent working in England, chef Bruno Caseiro teamed up with Filipa Gonçalves (he is executive chef; she is the pastry chef) to create this unique restaurant, where the focus is on contemporary cooking with an international influence and the use of regional ingredients, with dishes designed for sharing. Cavalariça’s signature dishes include cured meat croquettes with clam mayonnaise and mustard, and grilled brioche with a chicken liver parfait and orange chutney." - Michelin Inspector

We had our favorite Comporta dinner here! Ana was fantastic (but so was the entire staff) - she made us delicious martinis, took the time to celebrate our honeymoon, and provided great recommendations for our upcoming visit to Lisbon. The food was delicious. Especially the mackerel, croquettes, and pork. Would definitely go back!

A memorable lunch ! One of the best meals of our trip. Bookings for dinner are tough as demand is high. Book lunch and enjoy the experience. Chef John was on the floor, along with his team that were absolute professionals. Will definitely return !

Very good food, lovely service with great wine recommendations. Most probably the best food so far in Comporta for us. The food is cooked on point, very good ingredients are used and the combinations used on a single plate are excellent. The jus for the turbot was fantastic, similar to the spiciness on the Kale. Just the winelist is a little bit reduced - specially compared to some other venues in Comporta - but still fine and easy to find the right wine for the food!

An absolute treat when visiting Comporta. The food and experience were truly representative of all that Portuguese cuisine has to offer. Our server, Madu, was a great waitress and an excellent sommelier — offering great pairings for the food. Will definitely be back the next time we’re in Portugal.

Made a stop here on our way from Lisbon to Lagos and I’m so glad we did! Had one of the most incredible meals on our Portugal trip so far. Ana, our server, was extremely friendly & knowledgeable, and even gave us some additional recommendations of where to stop on our trip to Lagos. Highly recommend the tempura kale, the salad, and the croquettes.

Drove to this town on the way to Algarve. The restaurant is super cute with its decor. However the food was more mediocre than great. Bread wasn’t the freshest. Steak tartar was undersalted. And they should really warn you there’s only 2 tiny tiny shrimps for €57 and not put it under main entree. These shrimps are expensive but much larger at other restaurants. The oyster and parfait was enjoyable.

Nice ambiance in reconverted horse stables. Welcoming staff paying attention to comments made at reservation time. Cozy tables for about 7 persons per horse rack. Food choices are rather original and sophisticated, and most importantly, tasting really great! Wine choices are also varied and staff advice was great. Relaxing music and attention to detail throughout our stay made it really for a great foodie experience. Will surely return when in area and highly recommended!
