Unfortunately, I had a bad experience there. My expectations were really high, as this restaurant is listed in the Michelin Guide. Also, I work in catering/hospitality, so I have a solid understanding of what good customer service should be like.
I brought some friends along to show them the best of Comporta, and it turned out to be very disappointing. First of all, the food took over an hour to arrive. They forgot my friend's juice, never checked if we wanted more water, and when I asked about the delay, the staff member replied, "As you ordered so little, it takes time for the chef to prepare everything at the same time." What? We ordered one dish per person because we wanted to try different things and maybe order more later—no one explained the concept or made any suggestions.
At that point, I just wanted to eat and leave. When the food finally arrived, it was underwhelming. Nothing special was served—no "wow" factor at all. My dish could easily have been called “cumin carrot”, because that was basically all I could taste.
Honestly, I don’t understand how this place is in the Michelin Guide. There is a lot of room for improvement—both in hospitality and in the quality of the food.
