I've passed this place so many times and have always wondered what it looks like on the inside. I'm glad I finally was able to stop and enjoy not only the food, but the atmosphere. This little stop-in gourmet cafe is perfect for any college student to businessman. It's busy with traffic constantly coming in and out but the good kind of hustle and bustle. I ordered a customized sandwich and was not disappointed! Their bagels are also from Ruby's , which I absolutely love! Highly recommend!!

Caviar and Bananas is the best! When I last visited, the food was incredible and the atmosphere was delightful for my quick lunch break. I want to give a special shoutout to Emilia and Riley for their exceptional kindness and hospitality. They went above and beyond to make my visit memorable, greeting me with warm smiles and ensuring everything was perfect. Their kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care made all the difference. If you're looking for great food and even better service, this is the place to be! Thanks again to these great workers!

An awesome place for great food and coffees, tucked away on George Street in downtown Charleston. Breakfast and lunch has a wonderful variety to please everyone. Their catering is the best to be found in the Charleston area. Check out their menus online along with the catering menu. You can do catering pickup or have them do the event or gathering for you. My favorite item is the caramelized onion dip and the delicious chips they make. Everything they have is exceptionally delicious!

The staff were incredibly friendly and eager to help me choose from all the delicious options on their diverse menu. I would highly recommend for a quick bite or even a sit-down lunch. Their breakfast options are fabulous as well. Can't recommend enough!!!!!

Great option for a quick bite, lunch, or a coffee date. They have so many options for food and drinks and I love the atmosphere and kind staff! Can’t go wrong with whatever you choose to get. It can be a bit pricey, but worth the splurge in my opinion!

Took a family vacation to Charleston and stumbled on this local gem. Excellent place for a quick bite (breakfast and lunch) and coffee. We traveled with our 10 and 8 year old kids and this place was great! Excellent service, quick/fresh food, and coffee. We stopped in for lunch and liked it so much we went back for breakfast the next day. Awesome both times!

I tried the large caprese salad. It was a little bit of a disappointment as the noodles was dry and you could tell this packaged item sat for a few days as the tomatoes was already softened after tasting one of them, the mozzarella cheese was way too soft and was mushy and was starting to crumble apart and tasted like onion. The onions was already bleeding their colors onto the cheese and pasta if you view the photos below. I did reach out to the restaurant and they did apologize for the order and they did offer me a portion of credit off my next order. They do have great customer service and I appreciate that. I will be willing to give them another try again.

Omg I love this place. GREAT price-point (especially for college students). They have a large variety of options especially for breakfast and lunch. Food came out super fast and was exactly what we ordered. The staff was super friendly and kind. The food was amazing. There are so many different things I want to try. They also have a lot of great grab and go options.

Food and Service is Amazing! I have had the opportunity to have both Breakfast and Lunch. So Enjoyable! My Favorite the Avocado Toast!

Would not recommend. It's a super fast casual joint full of college kids. Very loud with no sound absorption. We ordered two breakfast sandwiches, a drip coffee, and a latte. The girl who took our orders was super friendly and efficient. The girls making the lattes and sandwiches unfortunately were not. They called our number and gave us only 1 sandwich. When we brought the ticket to them to show them we were missing the other sandwich, they questioned us as if we were lying. Then, when my latte cooled down enough to drink, I found that it was not what I had ordered. There was a syrup added to it, which shouldn't have been. The girl I was speaking with asked the other girl if she put syrup in my latte. She told her no and then this girl tried to hand it back to me as if I was lying. I asked her to smell it, it tasted and smelled like hazelnut. At this time she finally offered to remake it. The second one was scorched, but it just wasn't worth asking for a third one especially since I watched her drop the metal milk frothing cup because it was too hot. These girls could use more customer service and barista training. The sandwiches were just okay. My husband had the sunrise and I had bacon, egg, cheese, and kale pesto on a croissant. I could see about a teaspoon of the pesto but I never tasted it.

I can't really tell if I like this place or not. The atmosphere is nice. Usually lots of college kids sitting and chatting or doing schoolwork and eating. The food has been hit or miss. The Italian wrap is honestly pretty bad. The wrap itself is pretty stiff and cold, the ingredients are just ok. Not much flavor to the chicken. I tried the Aztec sandwich the second time I came here and it was a step up. Toasted, hot, lots of flavor. These sandwiches come with no drink or sides, and they're all $11~. Granted, it's downtown Charleston. Just not much food for the price. These portions would be more reasonable at maybe $8 or so. Services has always been pretty quick here. I've only ordered sandwiches so I can't speak on the smoothies, ice cream, etc.The employees are all super cool though! Really friendly. I never leave here full, but I'm not gonna drop $20 on lunch either. It's convenient if you're on campus. Overall nothing special for the price

We visited a few times during our visit. They offer the regular menu all day and breakfast only in the AM. You order at the counter and they call your name for pickup. Ingredients are super fresh. I had a breakfast sandwich, salmon lunch sandwich and a baja salad. All were delish. They serve smoothies and coffee drinks and ice cream. They have take away pre packaged fresh food. If you are in a rush, I'd order ahead. Lines can get long during peak times. It's close to the university so many college students.

It's a little pricey but the coffee is good quality. I wish they had more size options cause the large is so big but there's not so middle of a one.

Don't use Chow Now to order. I placed an order and called to cancel it 9 minutes later b/c it said the order wouldn't be ready for 50 minutes, tried to cancel but still got charged. Caviar and Bananas said that wasn't their fault, so both the store and the app left me hanging. Their reasoning was "well, we weren't busy so we made your order faster than the 50 minutes we told you to get it". If I showed up 50 minutes later, it would have been a cold, greasy egg sandwich and cold coffee. Not sure if this place is good in person, but won't be trying it now.

A huge College of Charleston haunt and also Tik Tok famous pet my daughter. They are right off campus with off street parking. The store is good size with an industrial vibe. Orders are walk up with large menu boards utilized. They are known for great bakery items and coffee. My daughter insisted we try. Service was friendly by the young lady. The order was an iced latte, chocolate chip croissant and a burrito. Prices were very good for coffee. Drinks are self serve on a side wall. The kitchen is in the rear. Table and chair seating in the center. The order is brought to the end of the counter which took ten minutes or more. However they were very busy. The coffee was darn yum! The burrito was surprisingly huge and tasty. The hero was the chocolate chip croissant that was according to my daughter the best she ever had. I'm gonna say a solid 4 fits them nicely and would return and return.

The croissant and coffee cake were amazing. I also had a breakfast sandwich another day that was just as good. I like the coffee but It did take a while for them to make. The workers are nice, they accidentally charged my friend $8 for a croissant but quickly refunded her.

We dropped in for a caffeinated beverage after emerging from our hotel that morning. There were a few coffee places in the area but the name of this place won them our business on that faithful day. I wasn't about to do anything crazy and was sticking with beverages but I was pleased to see some of their menu items which looked amazing like ice cream in a PRETZEL cone. What on earth?! I was going to go with a standard coffee but jumped at the matcha as soon as I saw it. After that trip, I could really use some antioxidants. The matcha was great and I love their non-dairy milk options. There was plenty of seating. You can't really go wrong.

Huge selection of grab & go items and fully loaded coffee and smoothie bar. This spot is perfect to pop into while strolling downtown. They have a ton of local brands as well as some harder to find gems!

The Best shop ever!!!! I will make a special trip downtown just to see and get the new flavor of the month coffee and desserts. The customer service is freaking amazing!

Ya'll....this place is INCREDIBLE! Market feel with EXCELLENT food. HOMEMADE LOADED POTATO SOUP!!!Spacious and not loud. My favorite part....THE STAFF! I easily curated my own meal and the general manager was so helpful and beautifully show cased the place since we were new. Can't recommend this place enough! Thank you for the wonderful food and experience!

We're visiting from out of town and this place was recommended to us by a local! It had great service, everyone was very friendly!! We have a few people in our group with dietary restrictions, and they were extremely accommodating with those needs! Overall it was very clean and amazing food! Great tasting and well priced! We will definitely be returning next time we visit the downtown area!

Caviar and Bananas is a great place to stop for lunch, especially if you just got off your flight! The guy that took our order was very nice, and he gave some good recommendations. There were a bunch of great places to sit too, and you can sit outside as well. Overall a great place, and also kid friendly.

I was really happy with Caviar and Bananas in SC! I got the iced latte with sugar free vanilla! It was a great flavor. The staff was really nice and made our drinks quickly. We were also allowed to bring our puppy in!!! **DOG FRIENDLY ** They had lots of seating and was a large shop!

this is one of my favorite spots in charleston. i make a point to come here every time i'm in town and i've never been disappointed! yes, it's a little bit pricier but it's worth every dollar. their coffee is also AMAZING! i bought their espresso beans this time around. also, greg at the register was so nice and didn't make me feel stupid when i asked for something not exactly on the menu. i hope he's there the next time i come by!

We stumbled upon this sandwich place by accident and it was probably one of the best wraps I have ever eaten. The herb roasted chicken wrap with the shaved onions, provolone, etc etc. was absolutely fantastic! Wish we had one of these sandwich shops in Orlando and they also had cookies which they get delivered to their shop that were delicious as well. We all enjoyed everything we ate.

Three and a half stars. Every neighborhood should have a Caviar and Bananas, a gourmet market where you can also get beverages. breakfast and lunch. The place consists of different stations for Expresso bar & breakfast, prepared foods &salads, and sandwiches. We dined there in the morning for breakfast. Although I love the concept, I would love to see some upgrades in the execution. I ordered a latte and it was lukewarm. I return the latte. Although the gentleman was very nice and had a new latte made for me, the new one was not much warmer. Not sure if it was the machine or the way they prepared it? Husband enjoyed his bagel & lox and 17 year old enjoyed his egg sandwich, although it was mentioned that the eggs are pre-packaged. Caviar and Bananas is is clean, bright, and cheery. It is right near College of Charleston so it must be frequented by a lot of college students it is a quick and convenient place to stop if you are on the go in Charleston and you do not want to sit for that full Southern breakfast!

Mine and my spouses sandwiches had about 2 oz of protein. It was all bread and that's all you could taste. Also, they charge extra for using a credit card but don't inform you.

pretty good coffee, always really chaotic pretty close to the college. The location in the airport makes the hottest coffee ever! They advertise gf options but rarely have it in stock but the staff does their best to accommodate with what they have

This bums me out to write this but I came to get a quick bite to eat . While standing at the register I notice that there we bugs in the case with the baked goods. Not just one or two but a shocking amount of them. I said something to the young woman behind the counter and she said ' yeah I know.' But made zero effort to address the issue. I was completely grossed out and didn't eat the sandwich I paid for ...yikes, I hope they address the issue

This was such a cute little coffee/breakfast shop we stumbled upon in Charleston. I got the avocado toast and an iced coffee, and we also got a build your own breakfast sandwich on a bagel. The food was fantastic! The avocado toast was delicious with the pickled red onion and radishes, and the breakfast bagel was amazing too! We would absolutely go back! They had a wide selection of food, coffees, non dairy creamers, and different snacks and drinks also available inside. This is a situation where you order at the front, seat yourself, and can enjoy your food there or take it to go.

Caviar and Bananas did catering for lunch the day of our wedding for the bridal party in early October and they were SO great. It was 20+ orders, some with dietary restrictions, and they were so patient and great with the order. They delivered the meal directly to the suites that we were getting ready in at the hotel which was so convenient. 10/10 recommend for any casual group gathering and we will be lifetime customers.

Awesome breakfast/lunch spot right on the College of Charleston campus. I've visited Caviar and Banana's a number of times for lunch in between classes and everything has always been great. They're quick, friendly, clean, and delicious. What I love about Caviar and Bananas is the options. There's salads, sandwiches, breakfast, bakery items, an espresso bar, snacks and drinks. They also have an ice cream bar which I haven't tried but it looks delicious. My favorite item is the lowcountry shrimp and Caesar salad. I always order it without the okra but if you're a fan of that, I guarantee you'll love this salad. The portion size is decent for what you're paying and it always fills me up! Another recommendation is the Italian chicken wrap!

Even after a 10-12 year hiatus, C & B was on my to-do list for this trip to Charleston. Was thrilled to see that it hasn't changed, at all, after all this time. Perfect spot to spend a little time relaxing while enjoying breakfast, lunch or a snack in the downtown/College of Charleston area. Outstanding service, with food, beverages and atmosphere to match!

This place is super awesome! There is items to purchase and items to be made to order... I bought a cool canvas bag as well as some drinks and snacks... they sell specialty items and brands that I find reliable! Cute lil spot in downtown area that I highly recommend! This review is from Septemberish 2020 - and I still love my bag! And use it special for road trips!

really a 4.5 but so good! service was super kind and friendly. the iced chai was good and had a great balance of spices. the croissant was super tasty, but really buttery and not as flaky in the middle. delicious but not as flaky and light as i would have expected. vibes are good to eat but probably not a place to hang out and chill for a bit. very industrial.

Caviar & Bananas is the upscale, fancy, fresh, east coast lunch spot where you WANT to be seen. The best thing about C&B is how customizable everything is. We LOVE making our own tuna sandwiches and salads. The hot case always looks fresh and very tempting, however we LOVE being able to build our own sandwich from the bread up! The drinks, sweets, and chip sections are SO well organized. You can't go wrong. Clearly, the owners have great taste AND a sense of volume. YES! The price point is high. However, you're paying for location, quality, speed, and a built in tip. C&B has a mass appeal from the CofC college kids to (okay) boomers and everyone else in between. We look forward to our next walk, visit, and "design your own" tuna sandwich.

This place is perfect for a casual breakfast/brunch/lunch! I got their polenta n shrimp ($10) and it was more than worth it! The shrimp were huge and cooked perfectly and went very well with the polenta. The sauce was delicious too. Highly recommend this !! Also got the bee pollen latte which is pretty strong and tastes great. :)

I heavily credit caviar and bananas for helping me get through college! Pretty much every other day I came to cav for a bagel and coffee. The service is always quick and the staff is friendly and always remembers frequent customers. Caviar is the perfect place to study, grab some wine, customize a sandwich, and get prepared meals! Their delivery is also very reliable! Their bagels are also the best in Charleston!

If you want a no-hassle way to host a family brunch after a wedding, this is the caterer for you. Ryan and his chefs were responsive and honest in helping us develop a menu, and sensitive to dietary needs for some of our guests. Everyone was delighted with our hot and cold buffet, which Gina deftly delivered to our Folly Beach rental and set up (including recyclable or disposable chafing pans and burners) precisely on time. Hands-down favorites were the French Toast Casserole, Cold Smoked Salmon platter (remember to order bagels!), and the crisp baguette slices included with the Homemade Hummus. (We're still munching on the hummus and baguette slices many hours later.) The food was beautiful and delicious, and the service from Caviar and Bananas was professional and reliable, including a clear, detailed estimate and invoice. I wish I lived here so I could hire them again!

Fun little sandwich place right by downtown Charleston. Seating is kind of limited so be aware. The shop is not very large, but it essentially has several stations with many different goods. I would say that because of the size of the shop, it is a bit chaotic, especially during lunch time. Not sure who has been helped and who has not, so line waiting can be confusing. Service is super friendly here, just wish there was a better system.

We loved the atmosphere of this restaurant. Very casual and open with a huge variety of options! The bakery selection was beautiful! I ordered the sunrise sandwich and it said it came with a kale pesto but it was delivered plain with no pesto. The bread was good but the sandwich was very dry. We also got the ricotta toast which was very good! The bread was thick and the jam was VERY sweet!

Love caviar and bananas. I work superr close and have gotten both take out and delivery. Delivery took exactly an hour which I expected, plus I called early to get my food by lunch. Salads Are phenomenal! It filled me up for basically the entire day.. They're pasta caprese salad is SO DELICIOUS. I'm addicted! They are super busy during school time but I think it's a great spot tO stop by and have lunch! I took off one star cause I ordered a coffee before and they used soy milk, not regular milk which i did not ask for!! I am highly allergic to soy and after one small sip I was already immediately feeling a reaction. I don't know why they'd use soy if I didn't ask for it!!

After searching for a breakfast spot at 7am, we came across Caviar and Bananas. Lots of unique snacks, quality food and most importantly safety. The bagel with lox was exactly what I needed to start my day off. Thank you!

Stopped in for a quick lunch and asked for their best gluten free option. Most of their salads are gf, and they can make any of their sandwiches on a gf baguette! I ordered the Turkey with Brie, arugula, and apricot marmalade - it was delicious and the gf baguette was toasted and pretty darn good! Not crumbly or dry. Everything is alacarte, so you have to order sides or chips if you want them. Will definitely go there again.

We stopped into C&B during Second Sunday specifically to find some of the Pure Fluff cotton candy (which we did, luckily!). While there, we decided to split a salad. We agreed on the Gramercy ($10.95) which was so good! It was freshly made and I was really impressed. I may try to copy this at home since we don't have C&B up in Connecticut. It's a high-end market and I couldn't see myself coming here every day, but it works for a special treat.

Caviar & Bananas is the place I do not miss going when I'm visiting Charleston. The pastries are incredible & my favorite, the Smoked Salmon Bagel is a must have. Love that they have a market inside as well & many options.

Caviar and Bananas is a great coffee and food spot downtown! On my most recent visit, I decided to try the homemade kombucha and the pimento cheese plate. Both were delicious! The pimento cheese plate came with crostinis, house made pickles, onions, and tomatoes. It was a perfect afternoon snack! The kombucha was delicious and when I'm downtown again, I can't wait to stop here and get some! There is also an array of unique drinks, sandwiches, salads, and other items. You can eat here or take it to go for later. Very friendly staff and great food!

This place is too hectic of an experience for the morning. Harken cafe is always slammed in the mornings too but somehow doesn't feel such a hot mess. The staff aren't as smiley, friendly, or quick either. Their nitro cold brew is extremely bitter, maybe it's because they don't have a pour lid and you're drinking it with a straw? I don't know, but I dislike.

Good food. Quick service, unless it's around lunch and it's just because the college crowd gets in there (because it's that good). Definitely worth the wait and would go again!

The best! They do a great job catering for business luncheons. I have had many salads, sandwiches and drinks that have never disappointed me.

This provided the perfect rainy day Charleston energy we were looking for before walking around in the rain. I brought a friend from out of town and we didn't want to wait 2 hours to eat or be sick to our stomachs full, so this was the perfect spot to grab a good light delicious brunch. I always love how this spot seeks out local vendors and provides a true Charleston experience. The biscuit is a must!! Who knew? I asked for my eggs extra cheesy and it did not disappoint. I've always had a great experience with the service and while sometimes there's a short wait for the food it's still efficient and not terribly long. Not badly priced either. For a latte, eggs, biscuit and bottled water only rang up around $15! Will be back again soon!

I was looking for a spot that had a nice coffee selection and something besides pastries for breakfast. I liked the name Caviar and Bananas, plus it was open at 8am on. Saturday. I thought I'd be the only one up so early, but they had a lot of customers come through in the short 30 minutes that I was there. I had an avocado toast. It was just enough food for me. I paired it with a lavender honey latte. The latte was really sweet towards the end because of the honey collecting at the bottom. I also grabbed a blueberry muffin that I thought my daughter may enjoy. She wasn't too into it, but that's ok, because my husband got to enjoy it later as a snack! This place has quite a few good options to enjoy without having to be in a restaurant atmosphere with a long wait. You can grab your stuff to go, or grab a seat. Either way, your food or drinks won't take long to get to you.

Fast and easy! Best coffee prices around. "The Usual" is my favorite. Had it made on a wrap and it was perfect.
