"The second outpost of Cavo Coffee, which opened in the West University area in June 2018, offers group seating as well as chairs at a sit-down Pac-Man table. Siphon-made drinks are the signature on the menu, which features a full range of coffee and espresso offerings. Try a latte, a cold-brew drip tower, or a Vietnamese-style cold brew. If you’re sipping your coffee solo, grab a seat in a cozy nook, or pull up a stool at the bar for a bird’s-eye view of the baristas in action." - Marcy de Luna

This was my second time here and I enjoyed it again. The coffee’s strong and aromatic. The vibes are great too. Everyone’s really friendly, and you can tell they pay attention to the little things. The prices make sense, and I’m a huge fan of their furniture. while I was ordering, I got a quick look at the kitchen and I was impressed by how clean and tidy it was. I tried the cappuccino with pandan syrup and I loved it. The guy who helped me out was really cool. I’ll be back soon

This place is overall a nice spot to do a bit of work or study with some great bites and drinks. The bites were better than the drinks, in our opinion. Wife got latte and thought it was good but not amazing. I got Chai latte and thought it was lacking, tasting kind of "fake" or powdery? We got kolaches and almond croissant and I thought they were amazing but wife thought they were just good. The vibes were ok overall If studying or work i think they are great the place has an industrial vibe and upright chairs. For talking, relaxing, or board games I wouldn't suggest it. Pride supports so ++ for that. Overall I wouldn't avoid this place but wouldn't go out of our way to come either (like i did today to test it). Customer service was great and prices were very reasonable. Parking is great.

Such a cozy spot with the cutest latte art! Perfect for a coffee break or catching up with friends. Definitely coming back!

Google
Very nice modern coffee shop. Vanilla iced latte was good. I wasn't a huge fan of their food. It wasn't bad at all but not great in my opinion. Was quite full when I want but Managed to find parking and seating. Interior is very nice with a wide range of pastries available.

Google
Delicious coffee and good atmosphere. There was construction going on at my apartment so I stopped here to get some work done. I had two perfect cappuccinos and the breakfast sandwich. Sandwich was fine - nothing crazy or special but it was cooked to order. WiFi is also available. They have a small lot for free parking on the side of the building, just limited spots.

Google
I love the coffee and atmosphere! The only reason why I give it 3 is bc the parking situation sucks. I tried to go one day and couldn’t find parking so I went somewhere else. Yes they have a parking lot but it’s tight and usually full. Which def means it’s popular! It’s just some days I can’t get a spot so I go somewhere else.

Google
Cozy coffee shop Greta for a quick coffee run or work / study in WestU I tried their drip coffee, which was OK. I’ll look to try one of their specials next time. Baristas were very friendly. The interior has plenty of seating from comfy couches, shared countertops, to more tables and chairs. Plenty of natural light but store’s keeps it nice and cool.

The hot cappuccino I ordered with 2 splendas had become 2 stevia packets....they don't carry splenda. The drink had a wang from a sweetener I'm not used to, what happened to the customer is always right? The drink was good otherwise, even had artwork in the foam, don't get that in a togo cup much. The parking sucks. They sell beans roasted next door at the Cleo Roasting Co.

Yelp
A great coffee shop to sit and do some work! Plenty of two-top tables (perfect for all of us solo workers), relatively quiet environment and friendly staff! I ordered an iced chai latte and thoroughly enjoyed it. Parking Tip: they have a private parking lot that's located on the side of the building BUT it is very small and has minimal spaces available. It's also hard to pull out of if you go in and find no spaces available. I got lucky and by the time I had turned around to leave, someone was walking out to their car so I was able to take their spot. I think this lot is shared with the other businesses in the strip which would explain the parking situation.

Yelp
I got the latte with french vanilla syrup. My drink wasn't overly sweet. The french vanilla syrup had a bit of custard flavor to it. The interior of the story is really nice. There are plenty of tables and two bathrooms, which were clean. Parking can be limited, but you can park at the nextdoor lot until 2 PM. The employee was really friendly and answered all of our questions.

Yelp
Perfect little place to sit and do some work. Now the parking sucks, but once you're in it was good. It also wasn't super noisy like some shops can be. I didn't experience the service other than ordering my food, but the guy did give a good recommendation. I had the taste of Texas breakfast burrito and the green juice, both good.

Brittney D.

Yelp
Cavo is unassuming. I wouldn't have noticed it in passing, but a dedicated yelp search brought me. Pretty one-note in terms of ambiance- it's dim, low music, cold and many ppl are studying. The coffee is quality, you can taste it instantly. I got an iced oat milk latte with French vanilla, half sweet. I nodded in approval walking away with it and snagged you a couple outside shots so you'd know you were at the right spot when you come. Two word review: French vanilla

Rachel B.

Yelp
Solid shop, but nothing out of the ordinary. Grabbed a quick vanilla latte with almond milk this morning before work. Seems like they have a good selection of food and drinks beyond just coffee. Would love to go back for a pastry, they looked awesome.

Yelp
Great place to grab coffee and some quick breakfast. My latte was warm and perfect. The breakfast taco is huge, almost like a burrito and well worth the $5! Service is quick and there's plenty of seating in the cafe although it can get quite loud when completely occupied.

Cynthia E.

Yelp
I've studied from here a couple of times - it's a great spot for working, studying or meeting with a friend. I wasn't a huge fan of the drip coffee but loved the latte I had today! They have a seasonal flavor of vanilla rose - very strong flavor in the latte. It was delicious! Perfect temperature, frothiness and sweetness. Great way to start my day today! Thanks Cavo!

Cindy S.

Yelp
I came by for a midday pick-me-up and got my usual cappuccino. The coffee was strong and perfectly prepared. There are lots of plants to look at inside-- the big windows let in tons of sunlight. This would be a great place to get some work done! Service was quick and efficient. I will be back to get some of their freshly roasted beans, too!

Sarah O.

Yelp
I've been coming to Cavo for a while, I have always appreciated their matcha latte and tacos. This morning I went in and they no longer had their in house made tacos with the yummy toppings and salsa, it was a taco from Adair kitchen and the salsa was questionable. That was very disappointing to find out, the tacos made it worth the trip to Cavo. I might have missed a stir stick, but no more straws so I'm having to stir my matcha with a knife. Still a good taste on matcha!

Shatoyia N.

Yelp
I stopped in here to get some work done. Definitely, chill coffee/cafe vibes. I am not a coffee drinker but was recommended some type of caramel drink which was really good. I also ordered a breakfast potato taco which was delicious!!! I will definitely be back.

Melina B.

Yelp
This cafe felt very modern and chic, but balanced out with cozy decorum and the comfortable seating and tables. For $3.50, the drip coffee was well balanced and had a strong flavor, not bitter or diluted. The service was efficient and the staff were very friendly (especially for how early in the morning it was!). The music was quiet enough that I could still study with my own headphones on, and there was plenty of seating available to camp out. They also have a free, wheelchair accessible parking lot next to the building.

Preston I.

Yelp
Came here to meet up with a friend. I ordered an Americano with almond milk. The service was great. The woman who took my order was friendly, and the coffee came out quickly. The Americano was also well-made. They have a decent amount of seating and outlets. A good place to study, work, or read a book. Will be back again!

Mandy H.

Yelp
The design of the cappuccino is very cute. However, I believe the flavor was not that sweet and flavorful to my liking. The place was relatively nice to study, and it has a few plugs to charge. There is easy and free parking. My friends ordered an iced coffee macchiato, and it was okay. The coffee tastes like something I would make it at home, nothing quite special and memorable for me to order it again. Overall, I rate the place 6.5/10.

Kayla L.

Yelp
Nice coffee shop to hang out or work at! It also has amazing coffee. Wi-Fi password is on your receipt, so be sure to get a copy if you need Wi-Fi. There's off street parking available. Put your dishes away in their bins on the back wall

Krystal G.

Yelp
My go to! Service is great, coffee is amazing and the breakfast tacos...OMG. The breakfast sandwich is so fresh and delicious too.

Carolina B.

Yelp
Good matcha lattes and my husband enjoys their cortado. A sizable shop with pastry goodies. Plenty of parking but a bit difficult to get into if coming west from Kirby (due to oncoming traffic). Staff is a bit standoff-ish at times.

Caroline N.

Yelp
Not a huge space but they make good use of it with ample seating (but not many outlets). Tried to redeem Yelp check in offer and it expired, but barista still made me a Honey lavender latte which was delicious-- awesome service :)

Andrew A.

Yelp
incredibly beautiful coffee shop located near a Rice Village. High quality coffee, they actually roast the coffee themselves, which is pretty hard to find in Houston nowadays. Definitely worth visiting with friends, or just going alone to get some studying done. My only complaint is that the seating could be a little more comfortable, but it does the job nonetheless, and the atmosphere and the employees certainly make up for it. Definitely visit. If you're in the Houston area I need to grab a cuppa Joe. Also, the cortados are insane.

Clara N.

Yelp
I usually do not feel compelled to write reviews for a place when I'm still sitting there, but I just found it unbelievably frustrating how poor the wifi is here. I should not have to buy a drink then sit down only to realize the only website I can access is my email. I could not open a single link, even for yelp (I had to use my phone's data to write this review). A cute place, the coffee is decent but nothing spectacular. I'm not from the area, so this definitely left a poor taste in my mouth (pun intended). Come here to hang or chat but definitely NOT TO WORK.

Khanh T.

Yelp
Great coffee shop for doing work & studying! Nice, quiet ambient with fast internet and lots of seatings. Parking is a little tight but not too bad! :) Service was great, the barista was very nice and got the drinks out really quickly.

Calvin W.

Yelp
Cavo is one of the few coffee shops in town that I would go out of my way to get coffee from. They roast their own product, so you know you're getting your bean juice straight from the cook-- a green flag for any coffee shop. Their roasting set up is visible through a glass wall, which is both visually and aesthetically appealing, but also incredibly stimulating for coffee nerds. I routinely get beans from here, and their single origin offerings are extremely fragrant - they certainly know how to cleanly extract flavor with their roasting set up. Cavo is the storefront for Cleo, the roasting operation, so you can get beans just behind the counter. Note that every time you bring back their glass bottle, you can get a dollar off your next purchase. I've been here countless times to pick up my beans for the week and can't recommend enough. Latte is fine, and the baristas are great at pouring latte art patterns. They are also knowledgeable and friendly, and have struck up a chat with me many times about coffee. Also of note, their espresso machine is integrated into their counter, a small detail that sets them apart from many other coffee shops that use countertop La Marzocco's. Pastries are decent, and the price is very competitive. They're also willing to make aeropress and v60 recipes for you, another major green flag. Cavo was my first draw into the rabbit hole of coffee purism, and even after having tried scores of other shops, I have to say that this place competes with the very best of them, not only in the West University and Kirby neighborhood, but also the greater Houston area.

Destiny F.

Yelp
Customer service is a big deal for me. I understand it was busy today and the staff may seem short staffed but I will not be back here. The employees looked miserable and they weren't friendly. I felt like I was a bother here just by ordering a coffee and wanting to try out a new coffee shop. The aesthetic was nice though. Parking is okay as they have a small parking lot. My coffee was pretty simple and nothing crazy. But 2 stars because service could be better and after experiencing a phenomenal customer service experience with happy employees at Day six coffee, this coffee shop just can't even come close. If you don't like your job quit, but energy is currency baby and Cavo coffee just ain't it.

Tavani C.

Yelp
In a walkable area (by Houston standards). Chill music and vibes. This coffee shop has a vague quality of being unapproachable. Lots of people reading and working on laptops. At ~$15 for an avocado toast and small drip coffee, it's a bit pricey for a daily indulgence, but everything is fresh and tasty. One thing to flag for people who are strictly vegetarian: the egg that topped the avocado toast tasted like bacon, probably because it was either cooked in the grease or in the same pan. Even though groups of people were conversing, it wasn't too loud of a place to post up with a book or some work.

MC F.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop! Staff was friendly and welcoming in this cool spot, offering several seating options, high ceilings and nice industrial touches like stained concrete floors and exposed ductwork overhead. I had the cold brew and an awesome breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was warm with a perfectly cooked egg, good quality bacon, arugula, and whatever dressed it was absolutely perfect. All of that yumminess was tucked neatly between a gorgeously tender, slightly toasted bun that wasn't too thick... just barely thick enough to keep my fingers clean, which means it was flawless!

Dominika S.

Yelp
I love thé interior . The sneakers are a curious thing hanging from the ceiling. Some say it's a sign you can buy drugs there but that's just one interpretation. The coffee was a no go for me nice presentation but either the milk or coffee was too Sour. My stomach is not happy.

Gem N.

Yelp
Great ambiance and coffee selections. I enjoyed coming here to read or do some work. They do have some delicious pastries to eat.

Christy L.

Yelp
Found this cute little place while scrolling through yelp. Cavo is near the kirby area and has a decent size parking lot right next to it so you don't have to worry about parking. The inside is also pretty big with different seating options and a great aesthetic/ vibe to study in (i stayed here from 9 am-6 pm) The downside is that there aren't many outlets around the establishment, maybe like 4 total so you either have to get lucky with a spot next to the outlet or come with your devices charged. I came on a Tuesday so it wasn't too busy and I was able to secure an outlet seat. I ordered an iced honey lavender latte with almond milk. Definitely better than average and it had the distinct smooth taste I like in my coffee, but it wasn't the best I've ever had. Honestly Cavo is a solid 4 stars and I will be back if i'm ever in the area!

Diana C.

Yelp
Cavo is our favorite coffee shop in Houston! The coffee is high quality and very good! We usually get the cappuccino and cortado. In the cappuccino the ratio of milk to coffee is just perfect and you can taste the coffee is made just right, not burnt as it sadly often is in cappuccinos. It is also great that the coffee is freshly roasted just next door at Cloe. Food wise the butter biscuit and the croissants melt in your mouth - delicious. Cavo has a great vibe to chill or work, though the wifi is a hit or miss. Will try more food options next time!

Madelina N.

Yelp
One of the best chai lattes I've ever tried!! I got it half sweet and half spicy, per the baristas recommendation and it was amazing. I am a student and am always looking for new coffeeshops to study in-- Cavo was not crowded, had lots of places to study-- I didn't have an issue getting a table (but maybe because I came on Monday morning). Will definitely be returning. Great vibes for studying and good drinks.

Ally M.

Yelp
not bad but not amazing. i ordered an iced oat milk latte with honey and cinammon and it did the job! i tried to study here and it was hard to find plug ins for my laptop. tables are small and you have to share with others on the larger table which is fine. parking can be hard to come by. overall pretty mid

Char I.

Yelp
I like this place. Super cute setup on the inside. Lot's of seating for the studious patron. They have a variety of tasty pastries. I haven't tried any though, I'm still working on my losing my 2020 weight lol! Any who, I've had their Americano it is solid. Rich, robust brew that is not acidic. They get their beans next door at Cleo. On my most recent visit I tried a spicy dirty chai. I lovveed it! The hint of cayenne gives a little kick and I feel balances out the shot of espresso and allows the flavors to really collaborate. The barista was super fabulous giving luscious curls and a fierce manicure! I definitely will be back!

Alberto M.

Yelp
Nice, clean coffee shop near West U and Upper Kirby. I stopped here to do some work after helping with an event at Rice. The coffee shop is right on Bissonnett with a small parking lot attached, but it wasn't an issue on the Thursday afternoon I visited. The inside is pretty with lots of plants as decorations, but on the small-medium size range of shops. There's a large barstool type table on the right with ~4 booths on the right and 3-4 tables on the left with another smaller barstool table against the wall. I think I saw 2-3 places to plug in so maybe come charged if you're planning to work. I had my usual plain Iced Vanilla Latte and it was good. A nice refresher during this summer heat. The workers were friendly and the ambiance was nice and chill.

Laura D.

Yelp
I ordered a regular latte, and it was absolutely perfect. It's nice to see some coffee shops still hire talented baristas. They were also super nice and friendly, which is much appreciated. I definitely found my new regular spot!

Juliana L.

Yelp
Great coffee, great atmosphere, friendly staff! Also they had parking, Looms like their parking situation is a little weird after two, but don't quote me on that. Check it out for yourself. For a little snack we got an honey, earl gray scone. Delicious! Got the classic American. Was worried it would be no good because I haven't had much luck lately, but it was delicious! High quality coffee. Lots of seating!

George C.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place It is a beautiful place. The style is modern, there are plants, the furniture has that high end worn out bohemian mid modern century look. For example chairs upholstered in aged leather. The coffee roasters can be seen through a window and the kitchen is also on view. So great ambience. But, the service was lacking. I was clearly keeping the cashier from doing what he wanted to be doing. I obviously did not know how to look at the menu and order. And, my iced latte was overly bitter. It tasted a little burnt. Maybe it's because I looked like a reactionary far right conservative compared to everyone else. But if a place presents itself as being all inclusive, doesn't that mean all shapes and creeds would have a place there too? So: great ambience but not so great drinks or service.

Jamie L.

Yelp
Awesome and comfortable place to work with outlets for the side tables. I ordered a macchiato and it was strong and good. The portion sizes are smaller than other coffee shops. There's plenty of seating and tables inside and the employees were nice. My only complaint is they block So many websites on their WiFi. I was just working on simple research and almost all the websites were blocked so I ended up using my hotspot.

Lilly C.

Yelp
Great little coffee shop! I had an iced americano and one of their scones and it was perfect. I normally grab a cold brew, but theirs is a little more than at most other shops. However, you can't deny that it has lovely staff, good coffee, and very nice ambience.

Sherika F.

Yelp
This place is really cute and really great for knocking out some work. I placed an order for the Traditional Macchiato and Spinach Danish. Both choices were pretty good. I would definitely order again but choose the Starbucks version Macchiato It wasn't too packed in there, so I was happy to find a spot in the corner of the coffee shop. It was however really cold in there, so bring a light jacket if you plan on staying inside long. My only complaint is that I wish there were more food options. Nonetheless, I plan on returning.

Ahma H.

Yelp
The aromas are inviting and so is the avocado toast. Warm service. Hand crafted caffeination so eloquently appointed. Social distancing & mask wearing strictly enforced. Clean open spaces. Pup friendly establishment. Several folks happily tapping on key pads & working away on laptops generous socially distancing. Photos on Yelp, as advertised. Worth a stop.

Katie W.

Yelp
Grabbed a honey lavender cold brew to power through my morning work the other day and it was super light and refreshing! Staff was friendly and the food/ pastries looked delicious but I had already eaten so I wasn't in the mood. Will definitely be adding into my coffee shop work locations!

Joe R.

Yelp
Cavo Coffee has a vibrant and laid back atmosphere. The coffee was excellent and the staff was energetic and helpful with my order.

Leila E.

Yelp
I came here on a chilly morning in need of a warm cup of coffee. I had the opportunity to try the drop coffee with the house made vanilla sauce. It was ok, nothing to write home about. In addition, I tried the honey-lavender flat white which was WAYYY better and really had a lot of flavor! I think I will be back to Cavo to try out some of their holiday drinks!

Jingwen H.

Yelp
Came here on Tuesday at noon and got a cold brew and avocado toast! Nice study spaces with lots of natural lighting and it was pretty empty~ the cold brew is one of the best I've had in houston and the avo toast is also pretty good :-) staff is generally nice but seemed lowkey judgy for some reason lol. Also bonus points for playing TWICE

Kevin S.

Yelp
I love coffee It doesn't matter what time is that , I always love to have coffee and enjoy my time They have the best cold brew and my wife ordered a latte and we all enjoyed our coffee

Pete W.

Yelp
Very friendly staff and their espresso was great. Their cold brew must be very good because when I got there at 2:30 they were sold out for the day. I will have to try it next time.

Kelly X.

Yelp
If you are a coffee addict, you need to visit Cavo! It's one of my top 3 coffee shops in Houston. Coffee: I have tried the iced latte and cappuccino - both are creamy, rich, and absolutely delicious! The quality of the espresso is so good that I could taste the natural sweetness from the roast. Pastry: Less selection compares to some cafes. The apple danish was good, but it's definitely overpriced. Atmosphere: The interior design is chic and modern. The place is a great studying/working spot with available outlets to charge your devices. The noise level is pretty quiet throughout the day, especially at the Bissonnet location. There are plenty of parking spots for both locations. The staff is friendly. I love this place so much that I'm willing to drive 40 minutes from Katy!

Christine N.

Yelp
I love this coffee shop. Give me a good vibe. I'm in love with the decor, the set up. The coffee selection is bar none. It's never crowded, but barking is nonexistent - not to say impossible. Today I'm having an Ethiopian single origin expresso. It is delicious. I'm also having quiche. It is delicious. I'm also reading - my favorite past time. No one is bothering me. I am happy. One of my favorite coffee shops, worth the drive for a hassle free relaxing cup and bite while I traverse these pages :))

Ruby D.

Yelp
I personally didn't have any issues but "see something say something" The barista was being SO rude to this man asking about coffee they had on hand. It was loud enough for me to hear over my one headphone so I started listening. Her tone was just honestly so unprofessional and left such a yuck taste in my mouth. There were two baristas working and the one taking orders was pleasant and fine I know covid has everyone on edge but I truly found nothing wrong with the questions he was asking (about the fresh beans he wanted to buy) and with that, I probably won't come back :/ the tone was appalling because it continued for a few minutes... I looked around the shop to see if anyone else was hearing it and you could definitely see everyone looking over also. It was a great place to do some work and social distancing/cleanliness wasn't an issue. Much appreciated! They have their own parking lot so that was awesome too.

John D.

Yelp
Phenomenal, friendly staff, delicious, in-house roasted Cleo Roasting Company coffee, sinful baked treats and solid food menu! Best coffee house in Houston!
