"Cayard specializes in a little bit of everything, all of which they do pretty well. Their pates are chewy rather than flakey. They’re not always available, though, but that doesn’t seem to deter customers from waiting around until a fresh tray comes out of the oven. Cayard has a great selection of traditional Haitian-style cakes too, including a super moist sweet potato cake called pen patat made with boniato yams and seasoned with a generous amount of freshly grated ginger. On weekends, they also serve soup joumou to go, and like their pate, the soup tends to sell out quickly." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino, carlos c olaechea

"Cayard is another all-timer among Miami’s Haitian community and specializes in a little bit of everything, all of which they do pretty well. Their pates are legendary and on the chewy rather than flakey side - kind of like an extra rich croissant. Yes, you're going to wait a bit. Yes, the line is disorganized. No, sometime they DON'T answer the phones. BUT HOT DAMN, THEIR FOOD IS🔥🔥🔥🔥 and the price is fair. I go there once a week at least. They are all hard working people there and they take good care of their customers. SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESS

Google
Surprisingly, the lady was extremely nice serving me. But the patte was not good. They have lost it. Want some good haitian patte find somewhere else.

Google
Was there last week and the manager was just a horrible person. The food was tolerable for a coffee shop but the whole vibe of the place was off. Wouldn't suggest this place ever.

Orlyn Valencia Charles

Google
Everytime I get spaghetti from them, it’s like they give you food from the day before. The spaghetti I recieved today was horrible! It’s hard and staleeeeeee! It’s disrespectful and disgusting.

Google
The kitchen looked infested. Floors had garbage on it and was dirty. Not my cup of tea. Did not even waste my time to buy anything.

Shameka

Google
Most of the other reviews are correct. Customer service isn't that great and the wait is extremely long. But I must say, the food makes up for all of that. If you've never had Haitian food before but want to give it a try, this is the place to do it.

Google
Great haitian 🇭🇹 cuisine, from griot to patés, pen cho, akasan, ji papay, grenadia, ect... everything taste amazing. They prepare cakes for special events, catering service, good stuff. Ask for Rose, she is very nice & helpful. Check out a few pics I put up...

Google
The customer service is very bad. I press the order for my husband cake and I’m from Norway from Jacksonville. Get down to Miami pick up the cake. The cake wasn’t ready everybody who come after me get what they needed except me they don’t care they just care about getting the money Either Haitian or American and they pretend they can’t speak awards of English. It’s really disappointed that they are in a Haitian community we are Haitian and you’re treating your own people badly so I’m not really sure if I will go back to them no matter when I come back down there or if I want friends to eat over there, they just not up to what they stand for

Yelp
The second and last experience here. I walked in and asked for a patty, she said they didnt have any, I asked how long till another batch, yall this broad shrugged . She actually shrugged her shoulders. And I've had a bad experience with her before. Thanks but no thanks, way too many Haitian restaurants to put up with unprofessional ass people. It's a damn bakery.

Yelp
Terrible customer service and everything about the ordering process and what they are even serving for the day is convoluted to say the least. Not worth the time, money, or effort.

Sandi A.

Yelp
I brought a turkey there is was salty, even the sea is not salty like that I was so disappointed, no customer service . don't waste your money.

Elionne D.

Yelp
The cashier lady is not an unest person. Check your bag before you leave.

Yelp
Terrible terrible a Sunday afternoon me and my mother placed an order of legume and they said 20-25 minutes I went there and got my food and as soon as I got home it was cooled and watery and disgusting I went to go get my money this man was stating lies talking about my food was there about a hour and listen it wasn't even an hour but OVERALL DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GO AND BUY FOOD OVER THERE FOOD IS SO UNSANITARY BAD PLACE PEOPLE DONT KNOW HOW TO TALK TO PEOPLE.

Janelle S.

Yelp
Y'all look at this! They messed up by not having my order on time and with a lot of back and forth this is what they SLAPPED together. Needless to say I won't be coming back. This is what happens when you try to support your own people. Walmart would have done a better job.

Rachelle S.

Yelp
Worst Haitian patties I've ever had. The filling was sour as if it had been sitting out for a long while. I ordered 6 chicken, 6 beef and they were all bad! My feelings were so hurt. I go to Cayard's every time I come home to get Haitian bread (it's always good here) but this time I wanted Haitian patties as well. I'll just stick to Cayard's Haitian bread.

Gaelle S.

Yelp
if I could give it a zero I would. this business needs to be shit down immediately. their customer service alone gives us Haitians a bad rep. we ordered a cake and was told that it would be ready at 4:30. we show up after 5 and the cake was nowhere to be found. instead of admitting that they messed up the woman shouts that we never paid for the cake in front of other customers as of it was a financial issue. customer service 0/10. and the cake was not even that good for all of the trouble. next time take accountability of your mistakes. never coming back.

JoJo J.

Yelp
THE WORST SERVICE EVER! NEVER GO HERE! I placed an order and when I get there to pick up and pay for my order is when they decide to tell me what I ordered they do not have. Mind you this is also after an additional 20 minutes inside trying to get someone's attention. WASTE OF MY TIME. And I'm still hungry. I wish I didn't have to give them even 1 star to post this review. Oh yeah and the health department should do an inspection because from what I see as a customer on the outside I CANT EVEN IMAGINE THE CONDITION OF THE KITCHEN. Maybe it's a good thing I didn't eat the food.

Muryel M.

Yelp
It's such a shame when you want to support businesses in your community, but they have no respect for you. Their food is great but there is no reason why I place an order at 10am, and at 2:15pm my food is still not ready. This place has no respect for time and or costumer service. Would not recommend them due poor costumer service.

Vii T.

Yelp
The food is great but the customer service & their ignorance on time is poor... calling to place an order doesn't make much of a difference because you still end up waiting 20 minutes or more. Lack of telling time never fails

Walna F.

Yelp
Find another place to order food. NO customer service.. even owner son was there and he didn't care.. it was chaos. No set of organization at all.. for a food establishment.. why is it still open...it's doesn't make sense. Do people like to suffer?? They had me waited an 1 hour for chicken and plantains. How much was the food just $11 dollars...Had to walk out.. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Will D.

Yelp
This restaurant has to be the worst Haitian restaurant I've ever seen in my life!! Like words can't explain how bad it is!! I ordered food from them and they told me they had it! I waited 30 mins for them to tell me that they can't give me the rice that I asked for because it's for only special orders. Like only in miami where you see this type of poor service. I advise anyone thinking to go to this restaurant to reconsider!! You will absolutely be disappointed. I should of followed the other reviews! This place is horrible!!

Sandie D.

Yelp
I hate this place . I only go there because my father always send me to go get his food. They are so rude ! No customer service and so unorganized. They need to change the front of the house staff. They don't care who came first or anything . No wonder why they keep getting shut down from the state .

Shae F.

Yelp
So on all of West Dixie they are the best, in Miami I don't know who comes first. Their is cooked well, the meats are seasoned like HEAVEN. The cakes taste as a cake should taste...(I don't care how it looks). I had a HAITIAN PATE today! I bit into it and it collapsed in my mouth and it was a celebration..(PRAISES TO THE PASTRY CHEF). That dough which was made to make the pate was made to perfection, it had equal amount of dough as it did the meat (which also was AMAZING by the way!) I've been to a few HAITIAN restaurants and this is the only damn one I'll stand in a long ass line for...PERIOD! You'll be waiting for Jesus to come but still They get all 5 damn stars cause S¥!* the food makes up for it!!!!

Pretty G.

Yelp
I Called In To Order A PLATO of Mushroom Rice , I told the woman on the phone i wanted 30 dollars worth to place for the next day. She told me i would have to come in and pay a deposit and when i got there after driving 20 mins she stated i can't order it , i would have to buy a 60 dollar PLATO after some one told i can come in and get the $30 PLATO . VERY BAD BUSINESS! I WILL NEVER GIVE THESE PEOPLE MY BUSINESS!

Ketlyne J.

Yelp
The worse service!!!! The food is good but unless a whole hour to wait to be served go someplace else

Marie J.

Yelp
It's really sad with so many Haitian restaurant in that same area you choose to go there, and these people doesnt appreciate that.I'm not sure who works in the kitchen when I ordered $15 griot and plantain only on my way out it felt on the ground, and I told the guy since it felt inside he should replace it with another one he refused and said it was was my fault. So I made another oder for the same thing and the young lady that was there told me they going to replace it instead and come to find out that's the same food that felt on ground they gave to me.

Ana F.

Yelp
Ok so the service at the place is kinda hectic but the grio... The grio that you close your eyes to eat. The grio that you dream about. The grio that you just don't understand how it could be sooooo goood.

Miaa H.

Yelp
The wait is terrible I went in there for a piece of cake and waited over 20 minutes. I thought Cayard was the best Haitian restaurant but I was wrong there is a restaurant called Island On the Grill in nmb the food is soooo good and there is no wait and the customer service is amazing.

Pretty N.

Yelp
Just the worst. There is no order when you walk in the facility. You dont know where the line begins, ends, or even who to speak to to order. The food takes LITERALLY an HOUR to come out and even if you call ahead, its still not ready. Food is good but not worth the service at all...

Karen T.

Yelp
Never again. The sevice is so bad that the food can't make up for it. You need to have the patience of Job to get food from this place. The food isvgreat, the patte is great some of the time but the sevice is awful, disorganized and rude. It is so bad, that after I waited over a hour for my order, it was cold from sitting in the window.

Sas S.

Yelp
This is the worst place ever. #1 terrible service #2 there are flies on the food #3 it is a VERY dirty restaurant #4 there is MOLD if I could rate them 1 star I would. Advice go their and you'll see what I mean!! YUCKKKKKKK

Ariana D.

Yelp
The food here is SUPERB. The prices and portions AMAZING. This is not however "fast food." You will wait. It's NOT a matter of bad service, they are just very very popular and busy all the time. While I waited for my epic $7 dinner, fresh loaves of heavenly bread came out of the oven.. To me, its worth the wait.

Clautid G.

Yelp
The service was so bad I had to walk out.. I didn't even get a chance to taste food. The worst!!!

Guerla D.

Yelp
I ordered my food and went to pick it up in 20miutes wasn't 30minutes still wasn't ready while other people are being served the same thing I ordered. Because of my kids I waited patiently for more than 40minutes never again will I go there... not recommended
