The ice cream is a bit too soft for hard serve. I imagine they increase the temp to make it easier to scoop but it’s a turn-off to see the server’s knuckles coated with ice cream. Depending on who serves you, the scoops are either appropriately sized or very small. We got very small scoops while the other server made scoops that filled the scooping tool. Our server didn’t wash her hands even though she had dripping ice cream on them and took payment handling our card and proceeded to serve the next customer. It’s a cute place with single serve cookies and desserts, candy, as well as grab and go packed ice cream. Not sure I’d come back.

Google
Delicious with a wide variety of flavors. I enjoyed a rum raisin waffle bowl and my fiancé ordered a cookie dough waffle cone. Service was prompt even though the place was slammed! Some of the best ice cream we have enjoyed in the area. We’ll be back!

Google
First visit here. I was so excited to see that they cater for diabetics. Black raspberry was my choice and it was amazing. I will definitely return to try the no sugar added coffee flavour. The staff are really friendly and polite young some .

Emily Caddell

Google
Delicious ice cream and love that you can get baseball helmets as your bowl! Flavors are great with a huge variety!

Michael Louvaris

Google
Love the icecream here. They serve richardsons’s which is the world’s greatest. Don’t forget to get a punch card for a free scoop! I wish the scooper had told me earlier about it, I would be well on my way to a free icecream with all my visits. This place is one of the best spots to go after a kid’s soccer game.

My friend and I got grilled cheese from here (ik ik why did we get food from an ice cream store, well we’re broke teens doing a fundraiser at our high school and we got hungry) and the food was literally ridiculous. it’s hard to mess up a grill cheese but cb scoops had the brilliant idea to toast two pieces of flat white bread and place a piece of plastic cheese between them. i’m pretty sure that this cheese is the same thing that our infamously disgusting school cafeteria uses. anyway i think i’ve had ice cream here before and it was pretty good but I’m running low on sleep and this grilled cheese made me sad.

I have enjoyed ice cream from CB SCOOPS for years, always have a fantastic selection and price. Now I have a new go to for cupcakes! Yesterday I picked up my order of 24 cupcakes to bring to a bbq, and they were such a hit! I was a superstar for bringing them! Thx CB SCOOPS for providing me with the freshest, tastiest cupcakes with such a lovely and light frosting. They were absolutely delightful!

Google
Employee was very rude when ordering. Not only did she give me attitude but also put plastic in my slush and made my slush very chunky to where it tastes like ice. Cost me over $5 for this large Richie slush just to be disappointed. Never going back again.

Jenny C.

Yelp
Delicious ice cream. Lots of flavors. Open during winter. Delivery. What can go wrong with that?

Lisa D.

Yelp
A Dickenson ice cream shop of wonders. Inventive flavors: Milky Way, Frozen Pudding, Maine Black Bear, Grapenut Custard, Purple Cow, Phantom Berry, Apple Crisp, Cotton Candy Retro cherry lime rickey Ingenious ice cream "pizza" covered in candy, each slice a different color.

Nikita S.

Yelp
Delicious ice cream with prompt delivery. I ordered on grubhub on a hot summer evening and our ice cream scoops arrived well sealed and great consistency (slightly melted so it wasn't totally frozen, but not soupy). Of the three flavors we ordered, one had a few ice crystals in it. I also ordered a cannoli cupcake which was a surprise - it was basically a chocolate cupcake with what felt like a ricotta icing (reminiscent of the inside of a cannoli) topped with a cannoli chip - so definitely felt more like a cupcake than a cannoli but it was a really good cupcake.

Darlene C.

Yelp
This is in Medford Square. You have the option to sit indoors or outdoors [nice during nice and convenient weather]. Street parking is available but there are lots with meters. They won't disappoint. Lastly, there are other goodies like macaroons and such.

MJ H.

Yelp
This place has a lot of different and wonderful treats. They have ice cream, yes, but also a counter of baked goods, stashes of cookies all over the place, and some "old school" candy (including pop rocks and Big League Chew gum). I went in to grab some dessert to follow our fried chicken from Snappy Patty's across the street, and we ended up with a piece of Mississippi mud cake and a lemon bomb. Both were incredibly moist and delicious. The lemon bomb didn't have a lot of lemon flavor that I was hoping for (kind of the refreshing and zingy lemon square flavor), but I would still eat it again.

DeAnn H.

Yelp
Fun and tasty desserts . Great to bring to a party or gathering. Always a welcome treat!!

Carol H.

Yelp
Super cute little hole in the wall ice cream shop that also serves sandwiches and has amazing looking pastries. Perfect local stop for a treat!

Roxanne J.

Yelp
Solid Ice Cream! Has a really solid flavor and the line moves pretty quick too! Will probably visit again.

Sharon S.

Yelp
Brought my niece and nephews here last night. It's their favorite place! Kids got slushees and a twister. I had hard vanilla ice cream with Oreo toppings which was delicious and definitely homemade. Prices are quite reasonable and the smalls are pretty big! It was so good we came back again today!

Matt S.

Yelp
Came to get the "make your own cannoli kit" after seeing it Instagram for the holidays and was so worth it! I wish I was local so I could go back form ice cream and more pastries!

Lex G.

Yelp
They always have very friendly staff. And they serve Richardsons which is my favorite!

Winette V.

Yelp
This place is so cute and homey, esp w the fall decorations. There's about 5 tables (4 chairs per table) and one kiddie table w. 3 chairs. They serve Richardson ice cream and slushes, along with a huge slew of snacks - sandwiches, cannolis, cupcakes, soft serve yogurt, and candy. For the cold desserts, there's even up to 32 or so toppings. I love that they offer cup cones versus the traditional cones, which makes it so much easier to avoid messes. I hate it when my ice cream drips and my hands get super sticky! My daughter and I shared the Maine black bear (raspberry ice cream w chocolate pieces) and green monster (green mint ice cream with Oreos and fudge swirls) with gummy bears and rainbow sprinkles. We decided to put the ice cream in a rainbow sprinkle/chocolate cup cone. My husband got the watermelon slush. Both were delicious and a nice treat in this cold weather. The service was also wonderful! The lady at the counter let us taste test as many flavors as we wanted and gave us tons of spoons (I went to her about every 5 mins for new spoons bc #kids).

Courtney H.

Yelp
We have ordered from here on Grubhub 3 times and all orders have been perfect and just what we wanted. The cups are filled to the top and they are very generous with toppings. We haven't found anything we didn't like. We love that they use real baked goods in the sundaes too! The brownies and cookies taste fresh, not like they were made months ago and dried out. We love this place and will continue to order!

Ayatt A.

Yelp
We came here for the first time last night and this place is amazing. They serve Richardson's ice cream which is local and so delicious. And the people who work there were so nice and happy to help us. I got a medium cone with Pumpkin Ice cream and Purple Cow yogurt and my boyfriend got Apple Crisp and Rum Raisin ice cream. Everything was rich, creamy and HUGE. The oreo dipped cone I got was one of the most delicious things I've ever had. We also got a pastry...and WOW is their pastry selection just delightful. I would definitely recommend CB Scoops!

Jillian B.

Yelp
I love supporting small businesses and I love that CB scoops is open late. Through my last two pregnancies my husband has made many late night cannoli runs for me However, the poor highschoolers behind the counter either need more training or need more help. They always seem overwhelmed and confused... the line never goes quickly!!! But I still love cb scoops :)

Leif S.

Yelp
Excellent ice cream with a long list of flavors available. Also a selection of baked goods that are tasty. I particularly enjoy the strawberry ice cream.

Tanya Y.

Yelp
After getting my computer fixed at Dyanmic Computers down the street, I was about to get into my car when I stumbled across C.B. Scoops. The sign and the window front seemed intriguing so I decided to give it a shot. Everything, presentation-wise, looked delicious! I was craving a piece of cake and ended up leaving with this type of Strawberry White Chocolate cake. It was just O.K. Somewhat too artificial tasting/too sweet for my liking. I dont think I'd ever make a special trip back here, however if my computer needs another fixing and I'm in the area, I think I'd give CB Scoops another shot.

Bob D.

Yelp
I purchased peach as the server recommended and the Ice cream was creamy but no peach taste at all. I'm very disappointed

Helena Q.

Yelp
A perfectly serviceable local ice cream stop. Ice cream is a bit too sweet for my taste, but I think I'm an exception for that one. The ice cream was definitely nice and creamy though! It's a little pricey -- the smallest kiddie size is 4$, but it's a pretty decent size.

Clarissa S.

Yelp
The perfect old-school New England Ice Cream shop! Mad types of ice cream, hard froyo, soft serve ice cream, Richie's, toppings, and more. I woulda gave them a perfect 5 but they don't have soft serve froyo :( and they don't have my fav Richie's flavors: mango, coconut, OR regular rainbow. If you're in Medford/Malden and want a NE icy treat or even a hot dog, CB is the place to be.

Lizzie B.

Yelp
My family acknowledges major events not with cards, or with balloons, but with ice-cream GOT A ON TEST? CB Scoops PASSED YOUR ROAD TEST? CB. GREAT AUNT DIED AND DAD WANTS TO DISTRACT YOU? CB, obviously. C.B. is the family's ice cream parlor, namely because it serves Richardson's. For those non-locals reading this, Richardson's ice cream is the creme de la creme of MA dairy. C.B's carries most of the Richardson's line-up, except, inexplicably, Oreo Cheesecake. The latter fact makes me sad, but I digress. Other then the usual suspects of scoops, frappes and sundaes, C.B. Scoops also sells design your own ice-cream sandwiches, pies and cakes, and some baked goods. Random goodies can be had as well - a gallon of milk may be procured, ditto a bag of old school candy. Random Notes: 1. The store is relatively small with approximately three tables and one bathroom - so don't roll in with your entire crew. 2. Ice-Cream sizes run VERY LARGE. Unless you are some sort of eating champion, no normal sized person can eat a large in one sitting. 3. Check in on Yelp - get a free topping 4. Open during winter and on weekends! 5. Parking on street - or in the lot behind Flat Patties 6. If you aren't much of a kid person - avoid between the hours of 3-6pm. The McGylnn School children head over from across the street. 7. Really nice staff and family owned business.

Jerrica B.

Yelp
So I'm only giving 2 stars because of the overpriced price. My issue is with the soft serve flavor burst ice cream, for a "Large" (which is actually the medium cup for regular ice cream) is $4.25 Plus 50¢ for the flavor burst, not including any toppings or tax!! $4.75 for a "large" cup that's not really a large. And they DO NOT FILL IT UP AT ALL!! It's ALWAAAAYS half empty....And I mean ALWAYS!!! I wouldn't mind paying the $4.75 if it was actually full!!. Also the candy is also way overpriced. The picture is of a large flavor burst soft serve....$4.75. Btw It's been SO much worse than this!...Like laughable "Are they serious?!" worse.

Lesley W.

Yelp
Yummy ice cream. Gets busy on weekend nights. The kids that work there should try and be more friendly/helpful. They're the reason i didn't give 4-5 stars. They could at least pretend to enjoy their jobs.

Sarah B.

Yelp
Great selection of ice cream (including seasonal flavors!) at a very reasonable price. Generous scoop sizes. Eat your heart out, jp licks.

Rebecca J.

Yelp
This place is delicious! This was my first time visiting Massachusetts and it was literally right down the road from my Airbnb. I really lucked out. Stayed 3 nights and went here twice. Lemon tarts are delicious! I also haven't been able to find a decent banana split recently but this one was so good. Would definitely recommend.

Thuy L.

Yelp
Came here on a Monday night around 8ish with my kiddies and husband for some ice cream . We initially was gonna go somewhere else but it was closed so I opened up my Yelp and seen this place has some decent reviews ! The place is kinda cute and it gives off a kiddish feelings with all the candies, sprinkles, pastries, etc around . I liked the fact that; even though the place isn't that big ; it has about 3 tables with 2-4 chairs at each, and there's another small table that are closer to their counter for kids to sit (3 small chairs and a kiddie table )! Anyways, it was basically our first time here and when I looked at all the flavors and choices on the board, I felt conflicted ! I wanted everything and couldn't make up my mind. So what did we do? We asked the nice guy behind the counter what he recommended and what is popular. He told us the brownie fudge sundaes are the most popular and I got the strawberry shortcake. I loved the fact that there's all kinds of toppings that you can put On your ice cream. The guy suggested things to help us make up our mind as well and even though it was beginning to look a tad bit busy, he was very calm and made sure that he got our orders right without rushing to take the next customer orders ! I also seen on their sign that they make custom cakes, infused cupcakes, - which sounds pretty cool if you asked me! It's a troop to get here, but I will definitely come back if I'm around the neighborhood!

Treece M.

Yelp
Obviously these kids that work there can not handle busy hours!!! I had sundaes delivered by grub hub and the poor driver was waiting for 20minutes to pick up our order......When I called the girl tells me there backed up!! Ok and......They need to get out the delivery orders first due to the drivers waiting also the customers!!! We finally received our order and both sundaes were made wrong!!! In the note section I wrote out exactly what I wanted in my sundae.....I wanted marshmallow they gave me whip cream....I wanted walnuts I got no walnuts.....My daughter ordered a medium sundae, what a joke that was... One scoop of ice cream along with a side of hot fudge (very cheap). I called and complained the girl sounded like a complete idiot!!! Maybe they need to hire more people or maybe they need to hire people older then teenagers, because they have no idea what there doing!!! Unfortunately I will not be ordering from this place again.

Stacey D.

Yelp
Best ice cream shop around!!! Great prices and sizes are huge. If you go after 6 there is plenty of parking. Small shop only offers a few seats inside but well worth the trip. I traveled about 10 miles with the kids to go there and will again.

Varsha K.

Yelp
I had ordered a few times from here but when I ordered delivery today, it was terrible. The ice cream was completed melted and spilt everywhere. The toppings of snickers, KitKat and Reese's cups were expired. It was a complete mess.

Katrina D.

Yelp
Horrible service as well as unsanitary neither girl was wearing gloves nor hairnets or anything covsring their hair, i didnt even get my order finished before she was rushing to get it in the bag half assed

Tamar A.

Yelp
HIGHEST PRAISE ALERT (!): I wish this place had been around the corner from me when I was growing up. My brother, sister-in-law, and wee niece just moved a block from here. Suffice to say, they will each soon be very, very, very fat. The space is clean, welcoming, exceedingly kid-friendly, and plainly adorable. They've got every flavor you could want, plus fixin's, and the elusive soft-serve twist. They have a separate case for cheesecakes and chocolate-covered pretzels that looked perhaps a little tired (or just poorly lit?), and they are indeed cash only, but admittedly, that's like complaining that my diamond shoes are too tight.

Katie D.

Yelp
As a fairly new Medford resident, I had no idea CB Scoops existed until a coworker recommended it to me. First things first: this place is CASH ONLY! Which, of course I didn't know until we got there and had ordered; luckily, there's an ATM on the same block, which my boyfriend ran to while I sat there enjoying my ice cream. The place is cute; pretty small, brightly decorated (but not in an overly put together kind of way) with a few tables inside and out. The ice cream is from Richardson's, which bumps this place from a 3 star to 4 in my book. I got the coffee oreo and my boyfriend got the kahula fudge brownie and we were both very pleased. The sizes seemed generous and the price was reasonable (under $6 for two small cones.) I'll probably come back here, just for the Richardson's ice cream.

Hilary B.

Yelp
My favorite ice cream, right in West Medford! Love CB Scoops. Wide variety of flavors and choices, as well as pastries and baked treats. Always super clean and friendly service, even when very busy. I'm here at least once per week!

Helen C.

Yelp
I went back over a week ago and tried the Chocolate Frappe because it is my sister's favorite. It was AMAZING! Very chocolate-y and not too thick or thin, just right consistency. The girl who made it did a great job (I think her name was Ariana). Thanks CB Scoops.

Emma H.

Yelp
Stopped in a here a handful of times to get ice cream and a drink- ice cream is rich and creamy. Staff is always friendly. There espresso drinks are strong and made with love. They do a great job with all the little kids that come into the store too. Best ice cream in the medford area!

Amy M.

Yelp
Their service is good considering everytime I go there it is always packed!!! Richardson's ice cream and yogurt is out of this world! I would recommned the Purple Cow and Mint Chip Yogurt, as well as the German Chocolate Cake ice cream and Totally Turtle. You can never go wrong with one of those flavors!! Just stick with the ice cream. I am a baker by trade and the baked goods do not look fresh.

Sarah M.

Yelp
By far my favorite ice cream place in and around Medford, including Boston. They have great flavors, and even other treats. It's competitively priced as well. I love ice cream and I love going to this particular shop. Our last experience with them I want to give a shout out. I think her name was Arianne? Began with an A, she works there. I recently am doing different allergy tests for a medical problem. She took our number, can called us back with every ice cream that didn't have soy. NO other shop was even remotely helpful, and she went above and beyond... So thank you!!!

Frederick C.

Yelp
This shop has undergone a number of variations in management and one in ownership, that I know of...Throughout it has served Richardson's creamy goodness, milky-way being a particular favorite. I travel for ice cream. On average, I've found them better than the competition-certainly better than J.P. Licks in Davis Sq.,(which took a nose dive some years back), and is in my book only surpassed by the Toscanini's on Main St, Christina's in Inman Sq., or driving to a dairy farm. In the evening, it has become a benign hangout for local teens...frankly there are worse places for kids to assemble. The staff are youthful but well schooled at scooping and possess an understand of 'thick', which frappe-ologists throughout New England often fumble. If there is one small area of improvement, it would be in regulating the thickness/temp of the hot fudge....though I've never stopped short of the bottom of the bowl-Lastly with the thoughtful improvements to the decors, only the tv seems amiss.

Adrienne M.

Yelp
I love this place. When I first moved to West Medford a few years ago the store had another owner, so this review is for the new ownership only. The store is always clean and the staff is always friendly. They carry Richie's slush and Richardson's ice cream (both of which are amazing) and the portion sizes are generous. I also ordered the ice cream cupcakes for a friends birthday and they were great - I would recommend the oreo ones. I know someone mentioned they only accept cash, not true they do accept credit cards and they have dip for soft serve cones - - - YUMMMMY!

Mmm D.

Yelp
I dream of CB Scoops every single night. Vivid images of cold cream melting down my hand and on to my jean shorts wake me in a chilled vanilla sweat. I'm starting to think I should see a therapist about my issues with moose tracks nightmares, but I don't want them to go away. CB, if you're reading this please accept this as a virtual handshake and kiss on the lips as thanks for making such a sacred creamcone destination open to public worship. I am a child giddy with creamy jeans.

Marie K.

Yelp
Although I like the quality of ice cream at CB Scoops, it is rather hit or miss on the quantity. Depending on who scoops your ice cream, a medium can be between a small and a large. Last night I got a medium cup for my husband, and it was the right size, but there have been many times that its tiny. We tend to scope out who is working before deciding whether to trek to Colleen's instead. Also, the soft-serve is sub-par on any day except for Tuesdays, as some of the girls put twist mistakes back in the chocolate, watering it down with vanilla.

Tony S.

Yelp
As repeated numerous times - CB Scoops IS a quaint LITTLE place, but boy the customer service there is fan-tastic (I will agree the stress of the justifiably, excited weekend crowd does seem to stress out the staff; those I've seen, do give off notable signs of being more 'job/life loving' when the crowd is more at ease.) What a flashback type of environment the store gives off. CB not only sells a vast variety of rich, smooth, locally made ice cream, there are also actual food items to choose from. No excuse not to bring the littles out for a treat and still leave without guilt; order a soup or another of the none sugar based items to enjoy while they sit just off to the side, near the counter, at the child sized table, enjoying their treat and you enjoy the sweet surroundings. Not many options for Sugar-free 'dessert based selections, but so many many options it is not as if there was nothing to choose from! Very welcoming place... a weekday is best for me.

Emily K.

Yelp
It's dangerous when you live in walking distance to an ice cream shop! Scoops serves Richardson's Ice Cream which is my favorite. Good service, lots of flavors, make sure to get the loyalty card - 10 punches and you get a free ice cream.

Emmy L.

Yelp
All time favorite. I love coming here for the Phantomberry ice cream which is usually on the rotating seasonal menu. The service is excellent and the CB Twisters are amazing too. I love walking here and eating outside. They take credit cards and you can get ice cream by the pint or quart too. It's Excellent, which is evident by the long line out the door every summer evening.

Ryan M.

Yelp
Gota love this place. It is a small ice cream shop in West Medford center that has good ice cream, good hours, and good service. In addition to Ice Cream, they have a good selection of pastries and cakes. I would have given them 5 stars, but they don't make their own ice cream; I think it is richardsons or something. I give it a thumbs up.

Diane M.

Yelp
Love, love this place! The staff is so friendly. The choices are endless. The servings are generous. The kids working there are great. It's tough to find good help these days, especially in the 16-20 range but these kids are top notch. The only gripe I have is that it is too close to my house and so tempting!

Brittany C.

Yelp
Love CB's! Favorite ice cream shop in the Medford/Somerville area. WAY better than JP Licks!

Franny L.

Yelp
A little slice of heaven in Medford. Incredibly dedicated and friendly staff, never disappointed.

KC s.

Yelp
First time there: One customer being helped, and I was waiting. The other staff person was busy doing some kind of pasty thing (looked like it was for a friend). This staff person appeared to not give a crap about the line (someone else came in after me) and I waited more than ten minutes to order. What kind of shop allows customers to wait so they can do an order that is certainly to be picked up later. (makes no sense). My sister and brother both enjoyed the brownie ice cream... although the brownie instead of being cut up into pieces was all the way at the bottom. I wish the owners had been there... I can't imagine that they would have allowed the staff to operate in this manner. And as for the employee doing all the work... speak up and tell your coworker that serving customers is a priority.
