"A family-run restaurant in a Rockaway trailer was gutted by fire and is struggling to rebuild, the Daily News reports. The fire on August 11 leveled CC Jerkbox, owned by Blaine Campbell whose wife Odell and their three children worked for the family business. The restaurant, known for its jerk chicken and pork, caught fire when the family was in Jamaica celebrating Campbell’s 50th birthday." - Melissa McCart

This place is on a lot. But they transformed the space and made it inviting. Best jerk chicken in a long time. Tasty shrimp mac and cheese. On the the menu it says seafood mac and cheese but they tell what seafood they have for the day. The peas and rice was nice and fluffy. I had the seabass dinner. Well seasoned and not dry-just right in texture(wished i had three big pieces though). The jerk cheicken wasn’t very spicy but just right. All in all I totally recommend this place. Update:second visit 3 months passed initial visit. Still delicious but they have got to work on portions. The purchase was a whiting meal but got literally 1 whiting fillet cut in three pieces. Mac and cheese still da bomb however they missed my gravy although they repeated the call ahead order twice with the request for gravy on my rice and peas. Id still come back but cautiously. Deducting a star just for price for portion.

Some of the best Jamaican food this city has to offer. And you can’t beat the views from here. Really nice family-run business. Couldn’t recommend more highly 🙏🙌

Just received my order through Uber eats and this has to be the worst I’ve ever seen Rasta pasta. It’s dried out and the noodles are so hard I can’t even eat it. Why bother to pack food like this when they know they wouldn’t sell it to any customer if I was ordering in person!?? First and last time I will order from here. Curry shrimp order was also wrong because I asked for peas and rice and I got plain white rice smh

Menu Items: Chicken & Shrimp Pineapple Bowl & Rum Cake Wow! I was looking for some real, authentic Jamaican food and they did not miss. They understood the assignment. Not only was the food delicious, cooked to perfection (super tender), seasoned well, presented well and packaged well (to go); the style of this eatery gave me the feeling of actually being in the islands. Respect to the cashier. Her customer service was amazing! Can’t wait to come back!

Amazing Jamaican food in a really awesome location right on the bay. Great people, music, and vibes. They also always have multiple items for vegans and vegetarians, like the Ital Stew and the Curried Chickpeas. Very happy to have this place in the neighborhood. 🇯🇲💚

I got to admit that this little gem might be the best Jamaican restaurant on the Rockaway peninsula. So far I had the seabass escovich fish and it was well seasoned and fried perfectly. The jerk chicken was moist wasn't too spicy but ok. I had a roast fish from there it was not what I expected. The broccoli was over cook along with the other veggies. And lack spices. This is the only reason I gave them 4 stars. But I will be returning.

I keep hoping to give this place five stars but alas... this is my third time here and they disappoint every time with something. The chicken was pretty good. I wish I had stopped there. I ordered the pine ginger drink which really lacked Pine. I allowed my niece to taste it and she asked if it was a lime or lemon pine drink. The breadfruit was not edible. Can you examine throwing away fried bread fruit. You know when something is spoiling and you cut around looking for the half way edible parts? That's what I got. To add insult to injury the oil it was fried in needed changing. I reported it and the young lady said , "oh really what was wrong with it sorry about that". Precious. THE CHICKEN was moist and properly grilled. Listen even though y'all going for that yardie back home by the river look freshen up the place a little. Outdoors can still look grungy. Big up the chicken. Oh, ya can keep the festival too if ya don't change the oil.

Yelp
Unfortunately it caught fire and burnt down. They are temporarily closed till they can rebuild. So sad great food from a community staple. https://abc7ny.com/queens-restaurant-fire-jamaican-far-rockaway/12158430/

Yelp
One of the most delicious Jamaican spots in NYC. And you can't beat the views, right on the water. They have a DJ Friday and Saturday night -- and a relaxing vibe on Sundays. If you're anywhere in the rockaways, this is worth paying a visit to!

Yelp
One of a kind secret Rockaway spot worth checking if you like jerk chicken and Carribean food. Very good portion for the bucks. Maybe we are there a bit early, feels like the chicken need more time to break into the marinated flavor. Also, make sure u ask the staff to cut the chicken into a more smaller bite size.

Yelp
Delicious!! The jerk pork dominates. It's excellent. The owner is a super nice guy. Each time we visit the location keeps getting better. They recently added ice cream and some new places to sit. Well worth a visit. Was a great addition to the area.
