Cedar Island Marina

Look, I’m reviewing this marina as a guest and my experiences today. My buddy rents boats here and I tagged along with my Gkid in tow. I ended up taking out the main gate after following my buddy’s car and mistakenly thinking the kid at the gate was also waving me through as well. After the gate comes down on my car, I see the warning sign that states the gate comes down after each car goes through! Well, damn! The kid then tells me he was waving at me to stop. Not his fault as his additional jobs with the boat rental company is to let renters (and their guests) into the restricted area and to open the bathrooms near the front entrance when they call him via phone. Then he has to rush back to the docks where there are 8-9 other boats he has to service for other renters. They need to come up with a better system imo as it’s a lot for one person. And why not issue key fobs for the bathroom and entrance gate so the staff doesn’t have to stop what they are doing with the boats and personally drive their car to let you in or go to the bathroom. At least the bathrooms were clean and stocked. 5 Stars for the hard working boat rental crew and 4 Stars for the unnecessary staff runaround.

Heading back from trips out east, we've been putting in at Cedar Island Marina for over 26 years. It's a clean facility with great docks, a pool and restaurants within walking distance. . What makes it really special is the dock master Marc (who's been there since we can remember), and his well-managed staff. Professional, welcoming, Marc runs a great marina. We'll be back!

I stopped at the fuel dock. The service was great! The young lady who helped us out was very polite and knowledgeable about the water and the area! It was about 100° out that day, but she remained happy and helpful. Only thing I did not like was the price of oil. It was $55 dollars for a gallon, which doesn't even cost me $30 at other locations. I would've bought 3 gallons but not at that rate! Overall though it's a beautiful marina and is very conveniently located just inside Clinton harbor.

Amazing 4th of July weekend at Cedar Island Marina. Live music by the pool, and very dog friendly- our pup made a friend at their little dog park. Great location, super clean and nice showers/bathrooms, and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. We'll return for sure.

My family has been a member for about seven years. We have been most impressed with the dockmaster and his staff. We are now understanding that the role of the dockmaster, Marc Tardiff, is at the heart of this marina. Thank you, Marc, for your dedicated service, knowledge and genuine care and concern for the members of Cedar Island Marina!

We bought our boat from someone that was already at this marina. The people are so real we stayed. All the amenities are maintained and upkept! The food by the pool...yummy and all while singing sweet Caroline from a weekend gig guy! Love it here...it Meant2Be!

Great people, atmosphere and service,beautiful inground pool with hot tub next to it with a snack bar and 3 restaurants with in walking distance...and if u love sunsets..you won't b disappointed!!! Everyone In the marina is quite pleasent and friendly...u won't b dissapointed

Friday at 4:30. Boat was taking on water. These guys really took care of our boat Appreciate all the help and excellent service. Much appreciated.

Sometimes one employee is capable of doing their job well, but don't go above and beyond. MaryJo (presumably does her job well) but went OVER AND ABOVE to help me out printing an important document for me. She illustrated what it means to be customer focused. She was very gracious and helpful. Cedar Island Marina obviously gives its employees the empowerment they need to service their customers. The facilities are clean and well maintained. MaryJo's attitude and excellent service just put the cherry on top. THANK YOU! I'm assuming her employer(s) know how good she is (who knows maybe she is the owner) but sometimes it needs to be pointed out.

We had an amazing 4th of July weekend at Cedar Island Marina. The facilities are top notch and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed the band by the pool yesterday and had a great dinner at Aqua on site. Love that they are so dog friendly too. Our pup made lots of new friends. We can't wait to return.

I am a snowbird (grew up in Madison) and I love coming back every summer. I frequent CIM for wonderful Boating memories. The Marina holds everything anyone could need, who wants to be at the water. The Staff are helpful and informative. With Birthday parties at the BBQ area, a heated pool with plenty of activities for every age, to access to any water sport activity, Cedar Island Marina is by far the finest Family Resort Marina on the CT Coastline. And did I mention they are Pet Friendly...winner winner!!

I docked at Cedar Island Marina last summer and I could not have been more pleased with the experience. The staff were courteous and expedient and the facility was clean and accessible. An excellent combination of a family run facility with modern amenities. I was looking up marinas on the coast while planning another summer trip, came across CIM on Yelp, and the pleasant memories I had from last summer compelled me post. I hope you will enjoy the amazing sunset looking out across the water just like I did!

Overall the marina is decent - staff is incredibly nice and mechanics have years of expertise. I've been going to this marina for years and have nothing but decent things to say. The 3/5 stars comes from the outdated nature of the marina. Many sections of it are way too dated and run down. This can be a hazard for many visitors. Other than that would recommend to travels coming from all around!!

This is a great place and highly recommended! The customer service is outstanding. They really work hard to make your stay enjoyable. We had a minor issue that we brought to their attention, and they couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. We actually got a call from the owner! Try to get that kind of service at the other "corporate" owned marinas. We love Cedar Island and always get treated well. Great amenities, too.

The amenities are wonderful. The grounds and the facilities are all clean and well maintained. The customer service in the service department and in the front office (Michelle is a standout) is beyond reproach. They are always there to help and answer questions in both departments. Great place to keep your boat!

Awesome family marina. Been coming here, and have stayed here for years. The team here does a great job to listen to and work with it's customers. Experienced, qualitative, and honest service who appear to work more hours than typical yards. Pool, WIFI, TV, pool and hot tub (both to be updated in 2019).

We have been coming to Cedar Island Marina for many years now and thought I would write a review of this place for those boaters thinking of visiting or staying for the summer who have never been. It's a gem of a destination for both sailors and power boaters. Definitely our favorite place to come each summer. Beautiful protected harbor and awesome views from the marina. Very clean and nicely landscaped facility with lots of things to do if you so choose. Always find the staff to be outgoing and helpful too. Full service marina also in case you need repairs (which we needed recently and the mechanic Teddy went above and beyond to help us out with engine problems). Great restaurants in walking distance. Aqua Restaurant at the marina (full service and entertainment on weekends), Bocci's (best lobster roll ever.... seriously), SalD's, Chips and Scottish Dave's on Rt 1 and Shanks (a new restaurant on the water that I hear is very good). There's an "old fashioned" ice cream shop in town too (walking distance) that's fun for the kids and adults too. We like to walk and it's located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood with little traffic. Always look forward to coming back to this spot each year.
