Stick to visiting breweries on the MN side of Lake Superior i.e. Duluth.
Customer service is belittling.
I drove with my father and 20 year old sister 3.5 hours from the Twin Cities to Earth Rider for a concert. Upon arrival we learned that the concert was only 21+ admission. That's fine. It was our fault that we did not confirm the advertisement for the concert being 21+ on both the website and Facebook page. Disappointed, my father and I grabbed a beer at Cedar Lounge with my sister accompanying us.
After grabbing drinks and dinner at Anchor Bar and Grill we returned to Earth Rider to catch the show from beyond the fenced enclosure. We grabbed a beer and stood outside, respecting security's request to not venture onto the sidewalk. However, 30 minutes later security returned with condescending verbal force, belittling us to return inside Cedar Lounge. Upset, but without conflict, we left and went to the backyard enclosure of Cedar Lounge.
Five minutes later, we are once again approached in a condescending manner, belittled, and ultimately kicked out of Cedar Lounge. The issue being my 20 year old sister having a beverage and being on premise after 8pm despite her guardian being present.
Per Wisconsin law:
"According to Wisconsin law, anyone under the age of 21 cannot be sold or served alcohol, unless they are accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or spouse over the legal drinking age (Sec. 125.07(1), Wis. Stats.). So, for example, if an 18-year-old is celebrating his or her birthday with their parents and friends at your bar or restaurant, you can legally serve them alcohol. Otherwise, they will need proper identification proving they are of age to purchase alcoholic beverages."

However, I also understand that:
"Persons under age 21 may possess and consume alcohol beverages if they are with their parents, guardians or spouses of legal drinking age; but this is at the discretion of the licensee. The licensed premises may choose to prohibit consumption and possession of alcohol beverages by underage persons."

The issue in this matter is the handling of the situation. Don't belittle nor treat patrons with such disrespect when there isn't clear indication of company policy towards minors.
A couple suggestions:
Have a visible sign communicating policy!
Have a bouncer to keep minors out of the bar after a certain hour!
Make it clear that your policy does not reflect the WI alcohol and bar law practiced by other establishments around you!
And, despite the overtly apparent fear of employees being reprehended, train them to act with kindness and patience in handling a situation when one arises!
Beer was good but I don't like my people and me being treated like shit in multiple instances during a night so I won't be back.
