This place was amazingly delicious!! The portions were more than enough. Everything is cooked and seasoned so well. Our family had a variety of wings, Mac and cheese, loaded Mac with brisket (my goodness🙌🏾), street tacos, and a pulled pork sandwich with a hot link on it. Not one complaint about any of it. The peach cobbler deserves its own separate review !! A real BOWL full of wam cobbler with ice cream in top… again🙌🏾 In addition to amazing food, staff was just as amazing. Truly kind and welcoming people. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there tonight!

I ordered on Doordash - left a review there and leaving one here. Amazing!!!! EVERYTHING was delicious. I had the two meat Choice of 2 Meat Platter with ribs and brisket along with a side of Baked Beans and street corn. oooommgg!!!! The portion sizes were wonderful, meat quality was great and it was packaged nicely. The meats were smokey and oh so tender!!!!!! I am a fan and will be ordring more!!!!!! Great job! Stay consistent!

Exceptional. This may be the only bbq place in the greater Seattle area where brisket isn't dry. I ordered the pork tacos and two meat plate with brisket, ribs, coleslaw, and cajun fries. Everything was warm and tasted very fresh. Brisket simply melts away in your mouth. Ribs are excellently seasoned and cooked. Coleslaw wasn't sour nor overpowering. Cajun fries were crisp and well seasoned. Staff were all super friendly. Dining area and bathroom were very clean and tidy as well. It shows how much they care about their restaurant and their food.

How you gonna to compete with genuinely good bbq?! Best in Renton as far as I’m concerned. I live waaaaay up north but will definitely travel al the way down here for them bbqs right here. Brisket is how it’s supposed to be smoked. Ribs are stellar. Chicken tastes like it was smoked for real. Juicy portions. Don’t take my word for it. Try it yourself. Elote was the one that drew us to this place. Super yum and I’ll be surprised if they don’t think about opening up another one up north (Everett). Y’all might take over the bbq game up there.

Welcoming atmosphere for dining in or picking up an online order. Most delicious BBQ around, not even sure Texas makes as good these days. Stellar customer service too! Got the two meat platter, brisket and ribs with BBQ beans and mac & cheese. Service was excellent, really nice folks. Food was great too.

Hands down, some of the best Texas BBQ I’ve ever had! The brisket was perfectly smoked — tender, juicy, and full of flavor with that perfect bark on the outside. The ribs practically fell off the bone, and the sausage had just the right snap. You can tell they take their time with the smoke and seasoning here.

We ordered the brisket, spareribs, 1/2 chicken, cornbread and peach cobbler for my spouse's birthday dinner--his 96th! Our son brought it to us, and what a treat it was. The meat was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy. Everything was delicious. We will be ordering again.

This place was fire!!!! I came by with my family for dinner and everything tastes pretty damn good. Came back from being out of state and this BBQ blows everything I ate there, out the water. Ya'll better come through! The service was great! The waiter that was helping was nice and welcoming. And it was a very chill place to spend dinner with the family. I'll definitely be coming back.

While on vacation, my broke best friend and I wanted to eat at the bar around the corner until we see the 21+ sign on the door. We drove by Cedar while looking for parking which made it the back up. Glad it didn't work out at the first place. I tried to sell my 6 yo on the mac and cheese with brisket, but he went for the lemon pepper wings, nice choice boy! I went with the King Ranch sandwich (see attached pics). The wings were delicious! Perfectly crispy crunchy outside and steaming hot. Hella lemon and peppery. The King Ranch (pulled pork, brisket, hot link and crispy onions) was massive. The bun was toasted warm, I asked for the mild bbq sauce for pourin'. The lady who was at the register was super sweet with the boy and offered him a free drink, hella nice! I'd certainly come back here if I'n town again.

BBQ lovers, Cedar River BBQ is the real deal! Came here with the family to catch up over a feast of smoky goodness, and we definitely went all in. We sampled just about everything: brisket, ribs, pulled pork, chicken, loaded fries, two kinds of wings, and a variety of sides. Standouts for me were the loaded fries with brisket, the lemon pepper wings (seriously flavorful), and the ribs that practically fell off the bone. You can taste why this place has been around for so long - they really know what they're doing. Service and ambiance is casual and straightforward. You order at a digital kiosk, help yourself to water and ice, and grab a seat. Staff brings your food out hot and fresh. There's plenty of seating and street parking, so no stress there. No frills, all flavor. I'll definitely be back.

Been here back in 2012 and was not impressed...once I heard that it was under new ownership with a revamped menu I had to try it out. Was not disappointed at all! Great BBQ! Quality of the smoked brisket and ribs is A1! Been back probably 4-5 times since my first visit and every time the food is consistent and good!

Recommend if you're searching for legit BBQ with a Mexican twist. We did not know we needed that particular combination in our life - but we did! You can get delicious brisket and BBQ sauce, and also get Mexican corn. We did this. Everything was perfectly made and fit the descriptions exactly. We order as delivery and everything came warm and well packaged. Satisfied our BBQ cravings. We also got the wings which were good. They have options for a range of sauces and a range of BBQ sauce levels from mild to spicy. Will order here again.

UPDATE: They have made menu changes! They have added more goodness! My favorite is the loaded fries! SO GOOD! You get their delicious fries topped with the meat of your choice, their house made BBQ sauce, topped with fried onions! Or, if you have a bigger appetite, grab their "King Ranch"! It's a sandwhich with three meats! It's a biggie but a goodie! Our go to bbq spot south of Seattle. We've had a lot of their food. Their pulled pork sandwich is so delicious. It's tender and flavorful. We have tried all the sauces the mild, medium and spicy - they were all very delicious and MADE IN HOUSE FROM SCRATCH. We have also had their prime rib, great seasoning. The ribs, both the pork and beef, super tender. The chicken has a good amount of smokey flavor. The owners/service there is always amazing. Super friendly and approachable. I would highly recommend! Always quick service. Came in with lots of online orders and a few people in front of me and got our food super quick.

Updated review - But credit where it's due: the owner and staff went above and beyond to make things right. They offered me a complimentary meal, and both workers were friendly, attentive, and even added a peach cobbler. Excellent customer service -- I'd visit again.

We got the cedar river platter and OMG delicious! The ribs were falling off the bone, the brisket was honestly one of the most tender briskets I've ever ate, even the bbq sauce was delicious. All the side were fantastic. Definitely one of the best BBQ places I've been too in Washington(tried a lot!)

It's been awhile since I've been to Cedar River. Mac and cheese was legit and the chicken was really good. I would definitely eat this again. I picked up a baker for the next day for lunch it was also good. I've had some of the ribs and other stuff here also good but the chicken I am getting again for sure!

Very good brisket with a beautiful smoke ring, tender and delicious. My wife does a fantastic smoked brisket and this was on par with hers. Parking is a little tough but was worth the walk. Will definitely go again.Service was excellent and staff friendly.

food is very tasty, portions are average compared to other BBQ spots ive visited. service was good for a order first/sit after venue, placing our order was a breeze with the help of our cashier. would definitely recommend & come back!

Nice folks and reasonable prices. They NO Longer Sell BEEF ribs but food they had is great.

As a former Texan, I feel qualified to say this is some QUALITY bbq. They have a pretty expansive menu of just about any bbq item you could want but we went with a two meat plate with brisket and pork ribs paired with mac n cheese and baked beans for the sides. Then we topped it off with some cornbread. It was all so good. Also, a huge sign for Texans that you're in the right place when you see Shiner in the menu. The staff could not have been kinder or provide any better of service than they did. We will definitely be back! Side note: some of the negative comments seem to be about price. As someone who has eaten a lot of bbq in their life, good bbq is expensive and I would actually argue you get a lot of bang for your buck here. The two meat plate, honestly, was more food than I've ever seen on a two meat plate and was a pretty average price for what I've paid elsewhere. Definitely enough food for two people.

Food was amazing. Brisket had great flavour fries hot and crispy. Gentleman who took our order was friendly and enganging. Came to our table asked how thing's were and anything else we needed When we visit Renton I'll be back!

We ordered the platter and plenty to feed 3 for lunch. Brisket, chicken and ribs were awesome and tender. Service was very good. But prices were on the steep side. I'm comparing prices to Jack's Bbq and CR was higher. Jack's quality is slightly better.

I rarely put 5 stars on a place. It's easy. A sweep. These guys earn the 5. Everything in that photo is on point. And friendly service.

First time customer and Ordered take out- the half chicken was delicious and huge! Was a great size for my husband and I to share. Had the corn on the cob and baked beans as side... hands down the best baked beans I have ever had.

Unfortunately the Sunday we went (Memorial Day) the ribs we got were very undergone and tough. Sundays are BBQ days the server told me... Perhaps they can plan better to have enough well done ribs. We'll try again inadequate few months.

The food is amazing thick slices of briskets the mac and cheese is nicely moist and very cheesey the person that was on the phone was very kind and understanding went out of her way to help me with my mobility issues very nice 10/10

Just found out this place been under new management so decided to give the place a try and it was amazing I loved the brisket to me perfect fat to meat context and the chicken was great also nice light smoke flavor the staff was friendly and this place was well clean and a lot better then the last time they I came. I am gonna start to get more bbq from them now with them being so close. I would also recommend the pork ribs also they were that perfect cook to come right off the bone but not dry.

The service is always great whenever we come in. My daughter loves their Mac n cheese so we tend to stop by couple times a month when we're killing some time before dance class with a quick bite. I tend to lean towards their sandwiches when i come and have not been let down yet.

Still using them *over 10 years later* and Cedar River still reigns supreme. Seattle's Best BBQ joint hands down. No competition. Nothing even close. Just had them cater my husband's birthday party and every guest was raving about how amazing their food was! The beef ribs are stupendous!! And the brisket is so tender! May the sauce never change (I always get some extra to use on other stuff)! I love these brothers and they have taken a restaurant that was great and made it even better!!

This place has changed owners since I was last here, so I thought I would update my review. I'll start by saying BBQ is not my bag, at least paying for it. I'll season and grill meat any day of the year, but typically find I don't like how commercial places do it. That said, my buddy elected for BBQ, so I chose Cedar River, because BBQ Pete's didn't impress me at all. I also assumed this place had changed hands, so I wanted to see what new ownership was up to. Two of my staples were gone. I used to get the Caesar salad with smoked turkey and they got rid of the turkey. I also used to get the Chili and was told it wasn't a strong seller. The minute I walked in, I noticed the soda fountain was gone as well as the salad bar, so it was clear my suspicions were correct. We both had prime rib dips, The beef was both tender and flavorful, but it was way too thick, I like a thinly sliced beef. It also had a lot of fat on it, which made me wonder why someone didn't trim the meat before serving. Last, the au jus was room temp, rather than complain, I just had my sandwich that last. Also, people rave about the fries. There was nothing special or addictive about them. Per the rating scale, this place was ok. Honestly, I don't think I'd return, but I also wouldn't discourage anyone from coming here. Yes, the food could have been hotter or prepared better, but the portions were large and respective of the price, neither of us left hungry, but had the beef been thin, the au jus hot and the sandwich fat free, we might have made it to a 4 star update. The server and people could not have been nicer, it's clear this team wants to succeed.

It was suggested by my friend to check it out because o want BBQ. It is on expensive side. I got sandwich special with chop pork, seasoned fries, and a can of soda. You ordered on the tablet. They bring food to our table. I selected medium and spicy bbq sauce. The spicy was not spicy at first but it did kick it after. The chop pork was not dry and it was moist. It was not too salty. The bbq sauce was on the watery side. I do like Sweet Ray BBQ sauce the best. The buns was good. My friend like her pork ribs and potatoes salad. It was just table for very early dinner. The service was good. He came to check on us.

I asked for utensils, and STILL did not receive them. I guess we are supposed to eat 90 dollars worth of food caveman style. Not sure why common sense is no longer used with these restaurants, and they don't automatically provide them as well as NAPKINS for messy BBQ anyway. Kinda lazy, asinine, and unacceptable. Food was mid, not hot at all, and I do not live far. One corn on the cob to share with everyone? One small container of baked beans? For a "platter"?! The chicken seemed undercooked so we didn't even touch that. Best thing was the Cajun Fries and the brisket, and the one corn on the cob. Sadly to say, due to the overpriced food and mediocre service and quality, I wouldn't recommend.

OMG! I walk into this bbq joint and that beautiful smell of smoked meat attacks you! It's around lunch time and it's a little empty. Somebody missing out! So, I've been touring around the world visiting bbq joints. My most recent reviews was Arizona and UK-England. So, I eat a lot of bbq! I'm not very big with sides my main focus is meat. I got a sample of the Brisket, Pulled Pork, Chicken, Pork Ribs and A Hot Link. As you can see in the photo the smoke ring stands out, the pull factor is OMG and the taste is OMG! I could have stopped there but the Ribs kept staring at me so I was forced to try that right away. Again OMG, the pull factor from the bone was outstanding. Chicken awesome as well as the Hot line. This is a must try again! Yum! I tried the Potato Salad as well, it was very good but like I said the meat was my focus. The gentleman that took my order was very nice and he may have been the owner. Worth the trip!

We came in for some lunch. Their menu has lots of variety, and they have very generous portion sizes-you will likely be taking home leftovers. We enjoyed talking to the staff-we were new to this type of food, and they gave us great recommendations. We ordered some brisket and some freshly smoked chicken, with cornbread, chili and roasted veggies on the side. Their food is very filling and flavorful. Their house BBQ hot sauce was nice-it leaves a nice peppery aftertaste. We recommend their hottest (which had presence but didn't make us cry). In a time of COVID-19, they were masking, sanitizing and distancing. We felt very safe eating here. Bring your biggest appetite to come here-you will need it!

Everything could have been better. The brisket was dry, Mac and cheese came straight from KFC, corn bread was dry. Beans were good and so were the chicken wings. I wish I could get my $100 back. The experience of the restaurant was lacking as well. Went here for date night. When we walked in was disappointed we had to order from a kiosk and for the prices. I will never come back.

Pretty good stuff. Our go-to bbq spot is closed on Mondays and they were disappointingly unresponsive following a missing item on our last order so we thought we'd give Cedar River a shot. The better half wanted some bbq chicken so I ordered a 1/2 chicken and a three meat combo for myself. The chicken was great - moist, tender and tasty. Her sides - mashed potatoes with gravy and chili were solid. Excellent potatoes and tasty chili. The chili had beans if that is a dealbreaker for you. If it were purely on the chicken this would be a 5 star review but my brisket and shredded pork were a little on the dry side. The pork ribs were on point. Tasty sauces too. Mac and cheese - good. Thought I ordered cornbread as my 2nd side but I may have fat fingered during the ordering process and got chili for my 2nd side. Yum regardless. I'd order again.

Date night and decided to try something new and found our way here Cedar River BBQ. We got their Cedar River Plater which consisted of pork ribs, chopped pork, brisket, and chicken (got their dark meat). Also comes with 2 sides, got the baked beans (delicious) and their Mac and cheese. Also their hot bbq sauce was good too. Overall everything was delicious and friendly staff. Tip: get here quick cause they start running out of items the later you come in. I would come back again. Must try if you're looking for a local or just good bbq.

I was in the area and noticed the BBQ smokehouse. I decided to try the Prime Rib sandwich lunch with cornbread. Wow, delicious. Prime rib was tender and juicy. Bread was fresh and soft. Sandwich just melted in my mouth. I had wanted corn on the cob, but they didn't have any. One minor disappointment. The corn bread was good, not great. I will be coming back for the prime rib. It was excellent.

Showed up for our reservation at 5:30 and was informed that they were closing early as they ran out of food. Poor planning when you are supposed to be open until 8pm.

My whole family absolutely loves this place. The owner, Raj is superb. Sorry if I spelled your name wrong. Even we order it through uber it's still perfection. We go out of our way to eat here. You can't go wrong. We've had a lot of bbque and Cedar River is by far the best!

Food is delicious and the service was outstanding. Definitely recommend if your looking for some good BBQ in Renton. The kids cleaned their plate.

Way too expensive this place should be out of business and never reopen again they charge too much further barbecue cornbread, chicken, brisket, macaroni, and cheese you name it

First off the staff is immensely friendly and welcoming. That's a great thing. Unfortunately for me that was the best part. It's just...not BBQ. This seems a constant problem with Seattle area that there is no solid BBQ. The brisket was dry (and cut in weird cubes slices) with no visible smoke ring. Chicken looked backed not smoked. Turkey was very dry. And the ribs were very tough. Like they were microwaved almost. The beans I actually liked. Sweet but I like my beans that way. Just not for me. Would be hard for me to give a second chance.

We went here for the first time in a while this evening to get takeout. In-person counter help has been replaced by ordering kiosks (!)-- it wasn't the easiest system to find condiments, etc. but a kind employee said he'd make sure we got them. We ordered 1 pound of chopped pork and added 1/2 pound of brisket, along with beans and condiments. One guy prepped meat, two were discussing how to better arrange the kitchen. We were assured everything was there after a few minutes. Got home and no pork! Two orders of brisket, which was moist but fatty (and not what 2 of us wanted). I checked my order ticket and it's correct. Too far to go back. Won't be back soon.

I really don't like leaving poor reviews, but both times my husband and I have gone here we've been very underwhelmed. I will say, the staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful (hence the two stars). My most recent experience: the meat was dry, coleslaw had no flavor, and the macaroni was bland. I was shocked that 1/2lb of meat + 2 sides was $30. I've struggled to find an authentic "fall of the bone" BBQ in WA so far, and unfortunately this place just isn't it.

Great service and deliscious food. I had the brisket, mac n cheese, bbq beans and chocolate cake. The brisket was perfectly, soft and tender but the smoke was not overpowering. It had deliscious bark and perfect smoke rings. Im coming back!!
