"Cedar and Stone offers an alternative to food court fare, if you’re looking for a more upscale, sit-down meal. Sip a Garden Fresh, a gin-based drink with tomato, mint, and lime to begin before feasting on the crispy pancetta Brussels sprouts, a bowl of creamy wild rice soup, or half Amish chicken with honey lavender glaze. This restaurant is located at the base of the MOA’s adjacent Marriott Hotel and is open from breakfast through dinner with a bonus weekend brunch." - Eater Staff, Justine Jones

Enjoyed a delicious breakfast while traveling for work. The menu is excellent, the food was well prepared and came out quickly, and the service could not have been any better. Our server gave us great advice and brought me an americano with some steamed milk since coffee was still brewing. My coworkers loved the Benedict and I enjoyed the breakfast pizza, and we split the French toast so we all had a bite of something sweet to enjoy. I will definitely be back the next time I’m in town.

Cedar and Stone has a laid-back but polished feel. The decor is stylish yet comfortable, with beautifully textured surfaces that add depth to the space. The tables, chairs, and even the bar area have a tactile quality that feels high-end yet inviting, making it a great spot for both a casual meal or something a little more special. The service was friendly and top-notch. As for the food, it’s a familiar menu with a twist. Comfort dishes like short ribs are elevated to something memorable, and the truffle mac and cheese is a must-try. It's the perfect place to enjoy classic comfort food with a bit of flair, all in a relaxed setting.

Gorgeous modern setting with outdoor patio and gas fire pit. Ribeye steak and rainbow trout were delicious and flavorful. Apps included cheese curds, Brussels sprouts and Cedar salad. All were very good. Asparagus is very creative and yummy. Service is outstanding. It’s inside the Mall of America and super convenient. Definitely a great high end alternative to the food court. Highly recommended

Ordered the steak and eggs for brunch. It’s was very delicious. The steak was nice and tender. Got the Crispy Brussels sprouts for an appetizer. Was also very delicious. Went there with my wife and she ordered the Fried Egg Sandwich and she also loved it. Great atmosphere. I see there’s indoor and outdoor seating. Our server was very kind and helpful. Always available when we needed her. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Update 9.2.23: had the mushroom risotto again. Was different tasting. Didn't like it. Won't get it again. Lots of Gluten Free options. Service was pretty good with Alex up until the end when there were two checks. We had two people in our party and the party with us had 3. So the checks were mixed up. We ended up having the larger bill for the party of three on our credit card... Which was a bit more than ours. We went ahead and just settled it between us instead of waiting to have it all redone. Alex looked confused... But other than that he was a good server. Everyone seemed like their food. But again the risotto was different and didn't taste anything like last time. No gluten free bread was offered to me this time, like it was last time. A bit disappointed. ******** Gluten Free marked right on menu. Plenty of choices. Dana was excellent and made sure everything was perfect. I had the mushroom risotto and it was SO good. They also brought out some gluten free bread. Everyone was very nice and we really had a good experience. Thank you, Dana and staff for the great service!

We stopped in for breakfast and enjoyed our meal. The staff was super attentive and the ambiance was relaxed. The food was good but not worth the price in my opinion I had the Cedar + Stone breakfast and it was super plain, I mean no flavor at all. My daughter had the waffles and those were great. The green smoothies were also super delicious but not worth $12. It feels overpriced for what you get but still a decent place with great service.

Food and service were excellent. Filet was perfectly prepared and shrimp were the largest I have ever had. The food was delicious and the staff was extremely professional. It felt high end and was very clean. We will be back very soon.

We had a lunch date here and loved it. As part of the JW Marriot, the service was first class. Between the cutlery changes between plates, courtesy check-ins at every plate, and thanking for being a Marriot card holder, the server did everything right. The place was easy to get to from the mall and not crowded for a Friday lunch. The menu was limited but adequately varied with options. The salads with steaks we had were well worth the $30+. Well, you don't really go in here to get a "value meal," but the steak quality, overall ingredients quality and presentation was in our opinion well worth the price for the place, compared to similarly priced offerings in restaurants across the mall. Kudos to the team. Semi-fine dining at its best, conveniently at the MOA.

Yelp
I have been to Cedar + Stone several times and continue to be impressed by my experiences there. They offer a wonderful menu from breakfast through dinner and the quality of the food and level of service is always excellent. From the Chicken & waffles or Steel Cut Oats at breakfast or brunch, to Martinis and crafted cocktails, to their terrific wild rice soup and lunch or dinner fare I don't think I have had anything that was not good. The atmosphere is modern but not cold and the location allows you to stop during a day of shopping or as a guest at the hotel or just for a meal. There is an underground lot and they used to validate the ticket for a reasonable time to have a meal, but I usually park for the mall and just walk inside the mall.

Yelp
We had ticket to Cirque across the street and gave ourselves about 70 minutes to get dinner here. They ignored us the first 10 minutes and then we got nervous that we might not have enough time and needed to switch to fast food. A server approached us with a "has anyone helped you yet?" Which was to me an indication of an unorganized system. From there, everything went uphill. The service was fine (not overly attentive, but fine.) A manager helped us determine which food would come out faster (you hate to hurry $30-50 entrees) and they did come out in record time. Everything was tasty, especially the Brussel sprouts! The fish was a scant 3-4 oz portion, but it looked and tasted very good. It was fun to sit outside in June (even if the planes from the nearby airport were a little loud. Hey, at least it reminded us to travel!) We'll give them another try on a day when we are in a more leisurely mood. :)

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Cedar + Stone. I was recommended the Garlic Ricotta pizza (with hot honey) and the crispy brussels and they were both great options, although I'd get something else next time. The vibe is cool, although it was little empty due to the time of day I was there. Shoutout to Alex for the best service and for sharing all his amazing fun facts!

Yelp
We came here for date night! The mood was romantic.Awesome lighting! The decor is elegant and comfortable. I ordered the braised short rib with white cheddar grits. The short rib was made well. The sauce was flavorful..so much that if this wasn't fine dining.I might have licked the plate. My wife ordered the Minnesota Wild Rice Soup. She was very happy and I agreed that this was one of the best wild rice soups I've had at a restaurant in a long time. We saved room for desert and tried the butter scotch bread pudding. We were not happy with the pudding. It seemed more like French toast.Really light and airy.Bread pudding in my opinion should be dense. The service was definitely top notch. Our server Daniel knows how to treat his customers. He didn't annoy us by checking in too much and made conversation when he could and it was good conversation...not fluff. We definitely want to come back and try some of the other menu items pointed out by Daniel.Cedar +Stones location at the JW Marriott Mall of America is a plus for me.I will be back!

Yelp
We flew to Minneapolis with my husband for a work trip. I had not eaten all day. I searched Yelp for some good eats near the airport. My hubby all of a sudden remembered that he had a couple of great dinners at Cedar + Stone, Urban Table which is located at the JW Marriott hotel that is attached to the Mall of America. We valet parked at the hotel. The restaurant will validate your parking ticket, FYI. We took the elevator up to the main floor and walked into a modern and well decorated restaurant. The restaurant was open and extremely nice; however, you can come casual in dress. We were greeted by a happy waiter (Billy), who was enthusiastic and ready to get us going. He recommended certain dishes on the menu, and I was thankful for that. What caught my eye under the appetizers were the scallops and pork belly. We opted for that as a starter. It came out in about 10 minutes. The scallops were perfectly cooked, and the pork belly was so tender and had so much flavor. Next we ordered our dinner. We both chose the mushroom risotto. I added shrimp to mine and the hubby added chicken to his. The risotto was also perfectly cooked. The temperature was just right too. The shrimp had tails on them but it was still good and tender. I also asked for gluten-free bread. It was toasted and came out with salted butter. The butter and bread were delicious as well. Overall, my experience here was great, and Billy was phenomenal and gave great customer service. I would definitely recommend this spot to those looking for a great dinner near the Mall of America. Rating: Scallops and pork belly - 4/5 Gluten free toast with butter - 4/5 Mushroom risotto - 4/5 Customer Service by Billy - 5/5 Ambiance - 5/5

Yelp
I don't have high expectations for an "upscale" restaurant that's located at the mall of America. There are just so many other options to compete with here that I don't see the uniqueness and quality in the experience. It's suppose to be sleek and upscale but many of the customers aren't wearing that because it's at the mall. People were wearing sweat pants! I got a wanna-be upscale but causal vibe here. I appreciated the options on their menu and can understand some of the prices because some of the ingredients are local. We tried some cocktails, the wild rice soup, Amish chicken and waffles, and the skuna bay salmon. The food was delicious, especially the soup and Amish chicken. The chicken was perfectly crispy without too much batter. The sweet syrup and maple butter was a great addition to the dish. For the salmon dish, I felt like the actual fish was drowned out by the the sweet potato purée and and creamed kale. I sorta felt like I was eating baby food with the purée but the taste was good! I wished the salmon had more of the maple glaze that was mentioned in the description. The salmon was $42 and you did get a large portion size. The chicken and waffles was $24, soup was $12. Our service was excellent! We could not figure out parking at the hotel so we just parked at the mall ramp and walked through nordstroms. Overall, I felt like the prices could've been cheaper based on the atmosphere and location.

Yelp
This restaurant manager and the service team here are extra ordinary. I travel all over the United States eat at hundreds of restaurants a year. This team stands out as exceptional, and the food was perfect.

Yelp
Cedar & Stone, is a delicious option when you're staying In Minneapolis. Located within the JW, and with an extension to the Mall of America it's got plenty of options to walk in and enjoy their flavorful fare. The restraint itself is beautiful, with a very sleek and clean ambiance. The service was three stars from start to finish. We enjoyed their delicious wild rice soup, truffle fries and filet mignon. The scampi were delicious as well, although they firstly came out raw. Yes, you read that correctly. Uncooked. The manger quickly fixed the error, but we had another issue.. ... Our potato cake which came with our entree came out frozen. Yep. Frozen on the inside, fried on the outside. The experience in itself could have been a terrible one, but our server and the manager quickly fixed the issue to the best of the ability. Which is why I am giving three stars versus two. We were however, a bit off put the they didn't do anything to comp or remove one of them items. Especially if food was being served, frozen and raw. This also took away from our dining experience, as much of our food was missing while it was supposed to be consumed together.. ugh A bit discouraging but we would definitely like to try it again. All in all a solid three star experience at a restaurant that seems it should be a solid five. Cheers to well cooked eats Yelpers xx

Yelp
I've dined here for breakfast and lunch in the past and both times I had a good experience and everything was delicious. This was our first time dining here for dinner we ordered the prime ribeye carrots and Mac and cheese that we shared, it was plenty of food for the two of us. The steak was cooked perfectly to our liking with a tasty char and served with a sauce that was actually delicious. I normally don't dip my steak in A1 or anything like that but it was a nice smoky balsamic flavor. We asked for something spicy and our waitress gave us a delicious spicy paste that I mixed with the sauce - o m g it was SO GOOD. The carrots were cooked well and paired well with the garlic sauce and the Mac and cheese was creamy with a crispy Gouda on top. Everything was fantastic, we will definitely dine in again.

Yelp
After enjoying the Museum of Illusions, we were a bit hungry. I wasn't totally blown away by the online menu, but I was equally un-intrigued by other options at the mall. Another part in the evening where my initial impression was wrong and I'm glad it was! Our server, Bill, was just fantastic. Really friendly and fun and had great recommendations. I wish we would have brought a little more of an appetite, because some of the appetizers looked phenomenal. We ended up getting the short ribs, mushroom risotto, and roasted carrots. I am typically not a big fan of short ribs and these. were. EXCELLENT. They were so incredibly tender and the demi-glace was just perfect. Risotto had several kinds of mushrooms with balsamic. The yogurt on the roasted carrots just punched them up a notch. I would definitely recommend a stop at Cedar + Stone.

Allie M.

Yelp
Food 4/5 - The ceased salad was delicious and fresh. The serving of steak was very generous! Service / Ambiance - A nicer option of restaurant at the Mall of America, love that! The service was very welcoming and polite. An upper scale atmosphere in the Mall of America.

Yelp
I showed up at 3:50 lunch on a layover. I was offered a choice of a seat in the bar or the restaurant and I chose the bar. I was also offered a choice of the lunch menu, which was ending at four in the dinner menu. I appreciated the opportunity to order from either. There was only one other patron at the time, and he left shortly after I sat down. The bartender was friendly and helpful, But not overly attentive, given the fact that I was the only customer at the moment. I ordered the Minnesota wild rice soup, which was excellent. The Revol Farm salad was not only delicious to eat, but very pleasing to the eye. It was a nice portion size and complemented the soup. I added buttered garlic prawns, and while they were tasty, they were slightly over cooked. Since this was to be my only meal of the day, I decided to order dessert, and on the recommendation of the bartender/waiter I opted for the butterscotch bread pudding. I am not really a fan of butterscotch nor bread pudding, but I am so thankful I ordered this delightful dessert. I actually groaned audibly more than once, as I devoured this perfect sweet treat! It took everything I had to not actually lick the plate. My entire meal came to just over $60 with only water to drink. The food was excellent, the service was fantastic. I will definitely eat here again on my next layover! Apparently they won second place this year for best JW Marriott hotel restaurant. Well deserved!

Yelp
Our server, Ellyn, is a self-described rule-breaker, so she was perfect for us! When I was torn between the roasted cauliflower, wild rice soup, and the (no-pun-intended) torn kale salad with feta and Marconi almonds, she suggested a half salad so I could indulge in all three items without stuffing myself -- that was a great help! And for my 14-year-old nephew, she asked if he wanted to add pepperoni to his margarita pizza -- another off-menu secret that hit the spot for this very picky but silent eater. All in all, this is a definite recommend -- a very nice respite from the hustle and noise of the Mall of America next door.

Yelp
We have been coming here the last few days for breakfast since our hotel includes this with our package. Usually come down around 930am and its pretty quiet here. The staff here is very nice and friendly. We have ordered some pancakes, waffles, french toast, short ribs to try. All the foods that came out were very fast and very delicious.

Jay F.

Yelp
Comfortable atmosphere, great service, and most importantly the food was delicious! The best place to fuel for shopping.

Arieanna M.

Yelp
It was my first time here and the salmon and Brussels sprouts are excellent. The salmon is cooked just right with a crispy outside and tender inside, and the Brussels sprouts are the best I've ever had they're perfectly crispy and have a great flavor. I was so impressed that I took some sprouts to go. The donuts were sweet and perfectly fluffy. Overall, it was a really great meal. I WILL RETURN!!!

Charlene G.

Yelp
Kylie was a great server, super personable and provided great recommendations for both cocktails and food. For foods, I would highly recommend the small plate Mac n cheese and the chicken wings. Wings are nice and crispy and very flavorful with the Nashville seasoning. The Mac n cheese is so cheesy and has a nice crispy crunch on the top. The cocktails served here are super memorable too. I had 2 drinks and got a good buzz ready for some good shopping. Cedar + Stone Urban Table is located attached to the hotel. Nice modern ambiance inside, pales a great date night spot.

Melody W.

Yelp
Great wild rice soup which was my first taste of the soup of MN! Croque madam pizza was great. Service was a bit slow despite restaurant being empty though. Attentive overall though. High end / refined being a restaurant in the Marriott Hotel.

Mia H.

Yelp
Came to eat with my in-laws for a late dinner and didn't really have any expectations on what to expect but left very satisfied with the service and the food. The braised short ribs came with cheesy grits and definitely outshined the walleye dish, but the walleye was still very good. I can't eat gluten and they have an extensive gfo selection and dedicated fryer for gf. The server we had was extremely knowledgeable about gluten allergies/celiac and made ordering a complete breeze. The drink we got was amazing- the salt lining the glass was so good- sriracha honey salt, and the second one I ordered he even added some cayenne and jalapeños to it for me! Price point is a little higher than we typically go for but it's added to our short list of local spots for special occasions moving forward. They were extremely on top of filling beverage orders, topping off water, bussing dishes we were done with. 10/10 service!

Yelp
Here on business, four of us, staying across the street at AC Hotel, so we venture to Mall of America/JW Marriott, and eat at Cedar + Stone Urban Table. Lovely atmosphere, relaxed, semi-formal, comfy seating and lighting, and best of all, it's quiet, not like the trend these days toward amping up the acoustics so it's super noisy and you have to shout to be heard over everyone else shouting to be heard! This week the sommelier put together a wine-cheese-fruit pairing, so if you purchase a glass of wine, you get a free cheese-fruit appetizer. Why not? It was excellent. Chenin Blanc with an interesting cheddar with caraway seeds, and a macerated fruit combo with complementing spices. Really good. I had a kale salad with salmon, to colleagues had ribs, and one had shrimp and grits. Everyone enjoyed it. Servers really were trying to serve. Example: the shrimp/grits was coming out a few minutes after the other dishes were ready, and the lead server came to warn us. We asked to go ahead and serve 3 out of the 4 when ready, and then follow with #4. Indeed, it was only about 5 minutes delayed, no harm no foul. Great location, easy access, great service, good food, recommended.

Yelp
This place is located in the JW Marriott, between the hotel and the Mall of America. It has a chill, classy kind of vibe with a bar in the back. They also have a private room available for large groups. I was dressed casual and do not believe that they have a dress code of any type. There is a parking garage available near the hotel or you can park in the mall's parking lot. They tout themselves as a farm to table restaurant. They have a compact food menu that has wings, pizza, and salmon. They have have some savory signature cocktails as well. I ordered a Tropical Heat to get the party going. It was very flavorful and tasty. It had a bit of a punch to it, just like I like it. I ordered some of their wings with fries and an apple crisp for dessert. It took about 10 to 15 minutes for me to get my food. The wings were ok. I will admit that I am not a fan of dry rub though. They did have a little kick to them though. I got a ton of fries and they were pretty good. The apple crisp was to die for. I highly recommend it. The staff here is awesome, very friendly and personable. Yes, the restaurant is a a bit pricey, but the food is high quality. I highly recommend taking a break from the hustle and bustle of the Mall and checking this place out.

Yelp
When I travel, I like a place where I can make a reservation. I've already committed a lot of time to getting to the destination, I don't want to have to wait a long time to get seated at a restaurant. I'm glad that Cedar + Stone was on OpenTable because it was an excellent visit. First, our server, Janice, was amazing. She jumped in when the host staff was bogged down and led us to our table and then she ended up being our server. She reminded me of a friendlier Rosario Dawson, without all the anti-Hillary rhetoric. Janice was attentive, friendly, and efficient, just amazing all around. The coffee served with breakfast was solid and was a perfect accompaniment to my chicken and waffles, which were, in three words: Uh. May. Zing! Seriously, get them if you go. They're great. Others in my party also enjoyed their burger and whatever else they had, I wasn't too worried about them, I had my chicken and waffles.

M J K.

Yelp
Food okay. Spendy. Service was good and atmosphere nice inside of hotel at Mall of America.

Francisco C.

Yelp
One of the worst services I have experienced in my life. Took my wife and kids for brunch, they took about 30 mins just to bring drinks. When they brought drinks they brought a bottle of Rose warm. I went to speak to the manager and the manager said he was overwhelmed with all the tables. Please note that the restaurant was about ~50% capacity. Took about an hour to bring food to the table. Food order was wrong. I will never go back to the restaurant.

Yelp
We can on our annual MOA trip. They got RID OF the croque madame pizza!!! WHY??? The margherita pizza was good, but nothing compared to the croque madame. My child said the wings were terrible though, he ate maybe two... The sausage /ricotta pizza was ok... Ambience is always beautiful. Bring back the croque madame!!!

Alexander V.

Yelp
Fantastic gem connected to the MoA. We had the short rib, cauliflower, chicken, and bread pudding. Short rib was flavorful, albeit a little dry for my preference. The corn purée with it was wonderful. My friends downed their grilled chicken, both said it was moist. The bread pudding stole the show. A mix of french toast and butterscotch, but not too sweet. Highly recommend. All the craft cocktails we got were really good too.

Hoa N.

Yelp
2nd time here today to celebrate my birthday. My friend and I decided to do a little family style meal and shared a few dishes. The Brussels sprouts was so good. I especially love the seasoning sauce that is a little vinager and sweet. Super good. The pizza was ok. The creme brulee was excellent and little rich. The eggs Benedict was good. The roasted veggies are good with the hollandaise sauce. The French toast was great with a little fruit and warm maple syrup. Service was exceptional this time around with both servers. We enjoyed our visit and didn't felt like we were rushed. It was not as busy which was awesome because we can talk and the room doesn't feel so noisy.

Erin K.

Yelp
My husband & I are staying at the Marriott within the Mall of America. We loved the in-room meals we had delivered from Cedar + Stone! The breakfasts were top notch! The attention to the smallest details (jarred jellies, Philadelphia cream cheese, jarred ketchup, etc.) was appreciated! PS - The portions were huge!

Carol F.

Yelp
I visited Cedar +Stone because of the name of the restaurant. I'm starting to discover really good restaurants with the "+" sign in the name. I enjoyed a beautiful salad and crispy Brussels sprouts. The sprouts were coated in honey glaze and were magnificent! The service was impeccable and prompt. Even though the restaurant is attached to the Mall of America, it does not have the mall vibe. After dinner I strolled the mall for exercise.

Hannah R.

Yelp
On a long layover, I went to the mall for breakfast and to stretch my legs. Breakfast was overall simple and good, though I felt underdressed (even in maxi skirt, jean jacket, running shoes) for the place. Service was very slow, though nice when they finally came around. I loved the multi-colored root vegetables and the chicken sausage. I don't think I'd come here again based on how I felt, but the food on its own was solidly good.

Milou I.

Yelp
Super good ambiance. And service was excellent. The food was AMAZING! Mega recommend! Will be coming back!

Carol T.

Yelp
We decided to eat here as we wanted to be outside and it was convenient. It is a farm to table restaurant. The food was delicious! We were happily welcomed! We shared a charcuterie board. The pecans were sweet and crunchy. It had two different cheeses and meats along with fixings and an amazing sweet, I think, cranberry sauce. We also shared a Margherita pizza which was fresh with the crust having a good crisp. My husband had the pork chop and mashed potatoes which he enjoyed and it came on top of yummy greens. The service was friendly and prompt. The only two things that I would say are not great would be the noise outside with planes being so close to the airport, it is loud and it is a bit pricey due to location and you are getting things locally sourced but I would recommend!

Laura S.

Yelp
Probably not your typical breakfast joint but when on an overnight to Minneapolis and not much is open at 7 AM, this did it. Not only did they claim "farm fresh", I actually heard where the eggs came from. The potatoes were perfect and I tried the Canadian bacon as my meat which did not disappoint.

Sean S.

Yelp
Stopped in here for dinner before catching a show at the House of Comedy at MOA. I'm a hard sell when it comes to restaurants attached to hotels. Hotelejudice, restrauntism, is that a thing?... Either way I often find the fare in these situations doesnt match the price tag. If you want to save yourself the extended version, the short story is Cedar + Stone broke the mold. Great service, fair price, good food. Alex our waiter, who could easily be mistaken for T.J. Miller of Silicon Valley fame, was terrific. I know sometimes restaurant goers like the wait staff to be invisible, but we like ours with some personality and Alex delivered on all levels... Laughs, service, and recommendations. We had pre-dinner drinks, my wife got a toned down version of the Tropical Heat and I ordered the Bluegrass Nectar. My wife was a little underwhelmed, but overall enjoyed the drink (and the generous alcohol content lol). I thought the Bluegrass Nectar was superb. Smooth, strong, and tasty... hard to hit on all those notes. The sprig of fresh rosemary was a nice visual element and smelled amazing on the first sip, but became a little eye watering in short order so it had to jump ship. We managed to break our lips free from our drinks occasionally to inhale our Cheese Curds.... which I will admit doesnt scream up scale dining or really even moderately interesting, it might be akin to saying something like "oh thats fantastic white bread" but these things were fire. Lightly breaded, stringy, gooey goodness with a very subtle touch of spice. Alex likened them to State Fair curds... way to undersell them Alex. For dinner we ordered the Braised Short Ribs and the Honeycrisp + Cheddar salad. The meat was cooked wonderfully and the grits were exceptional, that is according to my wife who being from the south is an authority on such things. Being a midwesterner myself I thought they were good too, which might be saying just as much. The salad was good, not great. It felt like it was missing an element to me. Something to brighten it a bit. That said the candied pecans that were sprinkled in were out of this world... I know see comment regarding cheese curds. Food aside the ambience was nice and though the restaurant was probably near capacity it did not feel crowded... or dark. I get being romantic but sometimes places go down the rabbit hole and you feel you're eating in a haunted house. Being frugal I was also surprise at the ticket... out the door for der $100. Success on all accounts. Thanks Alex and Cedar + Stone for staring our date night off right. Cheers!

Yelp
I visited recently during a business trip to the Twin Cities. The food was ok for the price. But the reason I'll come back is for the staff. I was treated great by the bartender, Heather. I travel alone most of the year and it's always nice to talk to a friendly person who makes me feel like family. Also the bus boy (I forget his name) gave me a great tip on a store at the MOA where I could find a unique gift in relation to one of her hobbies. Great guy and wife loved it.

Yelp
tl; dr: I think the positive reviews and current number of stars (4) reflects the fact that it falls in the category of "actually pretty good for a hotel/mall restaurant". But, if you are looking for a place that is solidly good, and not "good considering...", this is not it. We were in town visiting from Chicago. I wanted to try a new restaurant, so I searched Yelp for a local organic restaurant near Edina. Cedar + Stone was at the top of the list. **We did not end up staying to eat** But hopefully this is helpful to someone else who might be looking for the kind of place I was hoping to find when we ended up here. The website did not make it look especially local or organic, but the menu looked good. So, we decided to try it. I let Google Maps lead the way. When we arrived I thought: "something is wrong. This is clearly the mega mall." Obviously, it's my bad for not noticing this before hand. However, it did not bode well. We entered the restaurant from the mall, and there was a sign saying we would have to walk through the restaurant to get to the hostess stand. As we paraded through, I noticed that it was mostly empty (at dinner time on the weekend) and that the few people who were there looked like business travelers. (Another bad sign) When we made it to the hostess stand, I realized that the other door to the restaurant is attached to a hotel. This explained both the vibe and the long walk/weird layout. The host was very friendly when he asked if we were staying at the hotel. (No.) He was less chipper when he asked for my name and phone number. (I'm sorry. I don't understand. Is there a wait list? I guess I just assumed you had tables available...?) His facade was gone by the time he told me that their policy was that no one would be seated without being entered into their computer first. (No. We're not going to do that. Thank you so much! We'll just head out...) The host visibly recoiled and made a rather dramatic face at this point. I was pretty confused, so it's hard to know how I came across from his perspective. But, I grew up in rural Iowa and I have that thing where you get more polite and smile bigger in the face of an awkward situation. So, I'm reasonably sure I was not super rude. If you're okay with them selling your data (or maybe lying, I guess?), if you are in this area, and if you prize convenience over quality, this is probably a great option.

Yelp
I have to tell you normally hotels that have a restaurant connected or a complete letdown. This restaurant was the complete opposite. Kong made this a special evening by giving us a private room and the food and the service was phenomenal. I want to mention that this restaurant had amazing food, service, and management

Yelp
Cedar + Stone Urban Table was a delightful experience. Their drinks packed a punch and the wings were fiery yet scrumptious. Service was top-notch and, given the upscale hotel setting, the prices were surprisingly reasonable. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I work nearby and never knew this jewel was here. Thankfully, a good friend comes here regularly and invited me to join him today. So let's start with the basics. It's in the Mall of America, yes, but barely. I mean...you can park outside, walk right up and BAM, you there. So don't let the fact that it's in the Mall of America detract you from coming. You could avoid the entire Mall if you wanted to... If this were anywhere else, you'd immediately notice that it's a nicer place. Well maintained, nicely adorned with a polite host greeting you upon arrival. I was seated immediately and, GET THIS, seated OUTSIDE. This is the only restaurant in the MoA with outdoor seating! Of course, that'll probably go away over the winter months, but it was awesome today. Service was prompt, courteous, friendly, informative and followed up regularly (but not too much). The menu was of average length - meaning that, there were plenty of options to choose from (and some VERY tasty looking options), but not so many that you felt they were trying to please everyone. I choose the Kale/Arugula salad with Chicken - which came with Avocado, quinoa and a yummy, buy subtle, miso dressing and sesame seeds -- and a side of truffle fries (to die for). Everything arrived perfectly prepared, hot (where appropriate) and we were offered regular refills on beverages as expected. If this were on it's own, it might still garner 5 stars, but as a dining option in the MoA - it stands out as a North Star, Beacon-of-Fine-Dining that can only, maybe, be compared to Crave ... but better. Oh, the prices were very reasonable. Not cheap (the fries were $6), but for the serving size and higher quality ingredients/seasoning, etc. -- I honestly feel they were a bit underpriced (fine by me). I will be back and recommend you do the same.

Yelp
This was our Valentine's Day date dinner. Love the food here. I started with a side apple cheddar salad. Full of great fruit and veggies with a light dressing. Very good. Didn't even need to ask for dressing on the side. Salmon served with butternut squash, cauliflower, and brussel sprouts was the perfect meal for me. Loved all the veggies and the salmon was seared so it had a nice crispy outside but hot and tasty in the center. Loved it. Husband had the filet mignon with garlic spinach, potato cake and mushrooms. He loved his meal as well. I tried a bite with the spinach and it was so good. Our server was excellent! Funny, helpful. She was wonderful and helped make the experience excellent. The meal ended with being presented with a beautiful long stemmed rose. Dang, husband could have skipped the flowers he bought me earlier :-) I think this restaurant has excellent food. Hope to come back soon.

Yelp
Went this morning for brunch.... Ellen our server realized it was my son's 5th birthday, and made him feel so special. My son told me multiple times how special they made him feel on his birthday. It meant so much to see them make him feel so special and how it made his day and birthday that random people cared about him that much. On top of the amazing service, the food was also amazing. Ellen helped us make the great food choices we made. Her staff and supervisor complimented her great service also. I'm local and will be back for brunch more often because of how awesome the staff was the morning of March 9th. See you soon for more great food and service! Thanks again for making my son's birthday special!

Yelp
I had no idea this was a restaurant associated with the JW Marriott in the Mall of America. I picked it because the menu looked good. A-1 choice! I had great service from Alex and then Bill when Alex went on break. They called me by my name, which is a nice touch too. Alex and Bill both recommended items from drinks to dessert and my meal was spot on. I started with a Green Mountain Dynamite cocktail which you should avoid if you don't like cayenne which is sprinkled on top. I loved it though along with the 4x4 in block of ice inside. I ordered the crispy brussels sprouts appetizer which was pretty large and had nice chunks of pancetta and some char. It could have used a little more honey, but overall was delicious and I ate them all. Instead of a main course I went for the cheddar cornbread and wild rice soup. The cornbread was not really good. Something was missing...it was too crumbly and no taste of the cheese or poblano pepper. It was served in a cast iron skillet. Definitely not what I'd hoped to go with my soup which was spectacular. Perfect creamy taste and topped with a splash of olive oil. This Minnesota favorite didn't disappoint. I had planned to skip dessert but Bill tempted me with his description of the butterscotch bread pudding (bread pudding of any kind is my weakness). It was topped with some berries and Sebastian's ice cream (a local favorite). The ice cream and fresh berries (raspberries and blueberries) were great. The bread pudding itself had no taste other than the sauce which was no -description and the butterscotch taste not detectable. The dessert wasn't anything I'd say I'd have to order again. Wait staff and interesting menu worth coming back for. Would love to try their breakfast.

Yelp
We ventured to the MOA for our last night in Minneapolis. After walking around for hours, we worked up a healthy appetite. We decided to get takeaway since we had an early morning flight. I was craving salmon and decided to try Cedar and Stone. It's a beautiful restaurant that is attached to the JW Marriott. I placed my order at the bar. Service was friendly and I received a yummy skillet cornbread for checking in on yelp. The restaurant atmosphere is really relaxing and modern. Just as I was really settling in, my takeaway order arrived. I paid and the nice bartender assured that there was utensils and napkins in the bag. I was excited to get back to the hotel room and devour my food. I changed clothes and got comfortable and then took the food out. The food looked delicious and I dug in the bag for the utensils...nothing. I turned the bag upside down and it was empty. I was bummed. After tracking down a fork and knife, I tasted the food and although now cold, it was really good. I definitely recommend stopping by for happy hour or dinner. If you get takeaway, just ensure you double check your bag for utensils prior to leaving.

Yelp
Excellent service and food! Enjoyed the crispy brussel sprouts first before diving into a ginormous burger. Definitely enjoyed the spiced sangria!

Yelp
Delicious!!! If you are by the Mall of America & want to have something outside the mall, drop by the JW Marriott & checkout Cedar & Stone Urban Table.

Yelp
Went here for breakfast on a Friday, the food quality is not nearly on par with the price. My husband's French toast was burnt, and my eggs benne was served on a dry piece of what seems like turkey deli meat. They did at least take the burnt French toast off the tab. The cappuccino and the breakfast potatoes are good though.

Yelp
Super friendly & polite service. Originally ordered take out but went back for their brunch the next day! If you're ever at the Mall of America or staying at the JW Marriott, definitely stop by to check it out!
