Oh my, we booked The Cedar Tree Escape menu, and worried a bit, because some Michelin places haven't lived up to expectations in the past, but....
we had no need to worry, as it was excellent!
We had a lovely welcome, we were shown to a delightful lounge with a roaring fire, and enjoyed pre dinner drinks - a glass of champagne for me, and Cocktail for Colin, which he loved, also some delicious canapés (menus in my photos').
Prior to booking, I advised them that I am vegetarian, but my partner is not, they presented us with some lovely wax sealed menus, incl a seperate one for me, such a personal touch, that I don't always get!
We arrived early, and the restaurant was quiet, but there was no scrimping on service they provided, we were taken to our table in the lovely dining room and presented with our pre ordered drinks.
The first course was a selection of breads, butters (incl a chilli shaped and tasting one) and a tasty Indian inspired dip, they were all yum!
Each course had a 'touch' of blending Indian heritage of the Head Chef Patron with French techniques and all we're sublime!
All food was fab, but my highlight (if there has to be one) was the Pithivier, my partners were the Orkney Scallops with its zingy sauce.
We both loved the Calamansi sorbet - a flavour bomb - yum!
My partner had the wine flight with his food, he loved each one.
The coffee and Petit fours were very generous, with the best Madeleines I've ever tasted, our taxi arrived so they boxed up the chocolates for us, they were divine 😋
Never thought we'd say a dining experience was too cheap, but we thought this was, especially for all the work that goes into these meals.
We will definitely be back, and hope to stay over next time!
