Casual eatery offering classic Indian & Mediterranean dishes in a homey setting.
"Cedars is a big Indian restaurant that looks like a house (with a porch and all), and serves reliably great classics, like saag paneer and samosas. The naan is practically the size of a hubcap, which should be the standard for all naan moving forward." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley
"Cedars is mostly known for their takeout lunch, but it’s also the ultimate feel-good casual dinner spot. There are a ton of windows that let in a lot of light, and the lighter-than-usual Indian food is great. Think spot-on samosas with less density than you’re used to, chicken tikka masala with not much cream at all, and saag paneer that’s mostly spinach (but tastes good). Make up for the slightly lower calorie count by getting an order of garlic naan which has the char and size of an entire Neapolitan pizza." - Aimee Rizzo
"The Deal: $35 Lunch, $50 Dinner (Daily) While some places only let you choose one item from an already short list, that’s not the case at this great Indian spot in the University District. During both lunch and dinner, you can choose one appetizer, one dessert, and two entrees. Finally, a Seattle Restaurant Week menu that has intentions of actually filling us up. We personally love their tandoori wings, vegetable samosas, and butter chicken, all of which are available." - Kayla Sager Riley, Aimee Rizzo
"Cedar’s is a big Indian restaurant that looks like a house (with a porch and all), that serves classics that are lighter than usual. The samosas are light and fluffy, the chicken tikka masala is easy on the cream, and the star of the saag paneer is the spinach. Not to mention the naan is practically the size of an entire pizza, our preferred naan size." - aimee rizzo
"Located in a big house (with a porch and all), Cedars feels like you’re actually eating Indian food in somebody’s home. The portions of curries and appetizers are hearty - especially the naan, which is excellent, and practically the size of a hubcap. Use Cedars for a sit-down birthday dinner or lunch with the parents when you need somewhere “nice” that isn’t a counter-service spot." - aimee rizzo
