Google
Always a great to be able to visit this store. We discovered it the first time we visited Baltimore and it has become a “must visit” every year when we are in town for Maryland Deathfest. A fantastic record store for new punk, metal and indie rock vinyl. They also have an excellent used vinyl section too. The owner Tony and his staff are great to deal with and know their stuff. I love the display of classic albums signed to the store. They also have the only Dungeon Synth LP section I have ever seen in a store. Oh, one more thing: this is a true record store. No CDs for sale. Vinyl is the only format I saw for sale. Highly recommended!

Google
Five stars all day every day! I'm a music guy, but I'm also a nice guy, and a guy who appreciates good customer service. While other record stores might have snobby staff who act like they're too busy with never-ending logging of inventory to converse about my musical interests and to make suggestions, Tony and his staff converse and make suggestions like total pros, and somehow still manage to get their inventory done! (Watch and learn, Sound Garden). My last visit, while busy as hell, Tony indulged my questions with ease, even though I'm sure he couldn't personslly give two sh---ts about original pressings of old hair metal or Screeching Weasel records. He still showed enough interest to look up some values without me even asking. And no smarta-- comment from his employee when my purchase was a cheesy country record I loved when I was five. Again, five stars all the way!

Google
Tony is amazing, he helped me choose the records i wanted and even told me about the upcoming Mac Miller released, which prompted me to go back the week after. He’s super knowledgeable. The store has a wide selection of records. Highly recommend.

Google
Excellent store. Good mixture of records. New and used. Organized.

Google
Great little Record Store.. Found a bunch of stuff leftover from RSD and they had very good pricing!

Google
Positive and negative experience. ➕: great help with new music introduction and learning of new genres so I bought 3 records. They played me songs before buying the records. ⚠️Negative: I asked if they had any Stevie Nicks and the guy had no clue who I was talking about? I was shocked. I asked if they had heard of Fleetwood Mac and they LAUGHED with a customer? (Guy hanging out?) he basically insulted my interests saying “Yeah I don’t listen to them…” okay well Stevie and Fleetwood are ICONS. Listen I’m not a super fan, but at least be open minded to other artists outside of your personal bias. I mean my god, you sell TAYLOR SWIFT, which I personally think is less iconic and “cheap” music than iconic music like Stevie and Fleetwood. Rubbed me the wrong way and I would have loved to walk away with either album…

Google
Great find for punk/hardcore and metal. Owner is super knowledgeable and helpful.

Google
Great selection of new and used vinyl, and they're helpful when you're in a pinch and want to sell some of your own collection.

Yelp
I love Celebrated Summer Records! Tony, the owner, has a background in punk and hardcore so I have had excellent luck finding the punk records I am searching for. They also offer a wide variety of new and used pop, indie, hip hop, etc. Chances are they will have what you are looking for. When I was gifted a duplicate punk album for Christmas, I brought one copy here for a trade in and was given a very fair price. The prices here seem very competitive to online resources, corporate shops and other local record stores. I love that the store also hosts events around releases and Record Store Day, presents concerts and puts out exclusive records making it more than just a record shop. If you find yourself in Hampden, and are a music/record aficionado I recommend checking out Celebrated Summer Records.

Yelp
Updated review: I went back, a bit apprehensive. MUCH different vibe. It was super chill, good tunes playing, much more relaxed environment. Lexi was REALLY nice and friendly. It's a much better vibe in the store when there aren't a ton of loud dudes yelling and hanging out. Found a lot of really good stuff. It was really nice feeling welcome in here for once. I'll surely be back if this keeps up. This store has GOOD stuff!

Yelp
Nice little spot in Hampden. Picked up some classics today! Good selection and nice atmosphere!

Yelp
Talk about a killer record store. Yowza! There is tons of fantastic memorabilia covering the walls of this place! There's a collection of old punk tee shirts and posters. I enjoyed looking at the drawings on flyers and the line ups. It really is a place you can be in for hours an drop a ton of dough. I wanted everything in the store. This is the kinda place that has done the curating for you! I picked up a cool Melvins album but it was $150. That little baby is still waiting for someone with a larger budget. I did find a tangerine vinyl Christian Death album! And this baby definitely came home with me. It's right by Atomic Books! I have a feeling this is the Hampden retail therapy/ holiday/birthday shopping all happens! My friends and I could not get enough. I will have to always make sure to visit whenever I'm in Baltimore.

Yelp
I moved to Baltimore (and Hampden) about 4 months ago, and I finally made my first visit to shop at Celebrated Summer Records! Having such a great record store walking distance from home is going to be a problem for my wallet but good for my vinyl collection! On this first visit, I was walking over to the brewery a few doors down and stopped in for something specific. They didn't have what I was looking for, but they ordered it for me and it was there a few days later! What I was looking for was a little random, but they had a great selection of records to choose from! While I was looking around for the record I wanted, I did a pass through all the genres it could be in before I asked them if they could order it if they didn't have it, and I saw a lot I'd happily take home and add to my collection! The shop was cool, and the customer service was great. I'll be back!

Yelp
Bad azz! Owner is super friendly and knowledgeable, someone you could really spend a lot of time shooting the shid with. The store has everything from punk, hardcore, reggae, rocksteady, world, country, and more from all eras. I also really love the history the owner shares in the space, lots of old set lists, fliers, and t-shirts from all kind of shows in the areas past. A true treasure, we stop here every time we visit.

Yelp
Solid local spot for vinyl fans of all music tastes. While the Punk selection here is arguably the largest among the other genres, there's still plenty of stock in Soul, Jazz, Alternative, and more. The majority of records are used but there's many unused records at the front of the store - mainly newish releases from current artists. I could spend hours fingering through each record in the Soul section. I've found some great records from Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, and more. I've also been a big fan of the $1 record bin. It's a bit of a hit or a miss since most of the records can be a bit damaged (and they don't test them out beforehand) but it's like a fun scavenger hunt. I found a Connie Francis album in there once (don't judge) and it's become one of my favorite records that I own. I recently stopped by to peruse and was sad to see no $1 bin anymore. The owner, a friendly guy, let me know that the $1 bin will be coming back eventually! He mentioned that the inventory can be quite overwhelming at times (as someone who used to work in consignment, I totally understand the feeling) so it's just a temporary retirement of the $1 bin. All in all, this is a wonderful local spot central to Hampden with an organized and robust selection. Stop by and you might find your next greatest vinyl treasure!

Yelp
Great finds here... small but great selection... especially for Jazz which I'm especially fond of! I come here often and always find great stuff!

Yelp
I was in the neighborhood and decided to visit Celebrated Summer Records. In this digital age, it is rare to find a Record Store dedicated to the sale of LP's. I decided to browse through the extensive collection of LP's and lucked up on Stevie Wonder's Journey Through "The Secret Life of Plants". I decided to purchase it. The sole employee of Celebrated Summer Records offered to play the record for me. His offer caught me off guard, because I handed the record on the opposite side of the sales counter. The customer service is excellent. I am looking to returning to Celebrated Summer Records in the near future.

Michael P.

Yelp
Sold my record collection to this store & I am very satisfied. I was given a fair price and even on a busy Saturday afternoon, I was dealt with quickly and in a courteous manner. Very cool, broad selection of vinyl with a focus on punk & hardcore. It's a can't miss if it's that your kind of thing and even if not, there's a diverse range of records spanning genres & eras. Check it out!

Yelp
Wasn't even planning on stepping in to this awesome record store. It's everything I enjoy from classic punk, to jazz to indie rock! There's more here than any other competitors I've seen so far. Owner is cool and friendly. Man! I'd love to work here part time if I could. This will be my daily vinyl shop!
google avatar

Yelp
No better record store for punk, hardcore, or metal that Ive ever seen. Of course, I like Indie amd jazz...and a lil punk. There is plenty for me too. Atomic books is next door...next to that...Nepenthe Brewery. This street is quite literally my heaven. Back to the record store...enormous selection...extremely knowledgeable staff...Tony will bend your ear ...and mind...about years of shows in Baltimore.

Yelp
The guy from Protean Books and Records recommended this store after he saw me pick up several punk albums in his store. And man, was he right. While I listen to every imaginable genre out there, punk, metal, and rock are what I grew up on and hold dearest. Celebrated Summer Records has one of the coolest and most vast offerings in these genres I've seen in a while. I could have walked out of here completely broke if I didn't have any self restraint. Everything is organized neatly and easy to browse. The store is super cool and the guy was very friendly. I will be sure to stop by here every time I am in Baltimore.

Yelp
This place is great. We were visiting from out of state and are so glad we came here, literally our best experience record shopping with decades of collecting between the two of us. The owner is so friendly and informative. I highly recommend coming here.

Yelp
Terrific selection, terrific prices and condition. Was very impressed. And a really nice, knowledgable owner. Came from NYC and can't wait to head back.

Yelp
Found this Record Store by accident looking for another record store! I'm SO GLAD I did. All I can say is WOW! Well curated pre-loved vinyl in easy to browse bins. Reasonably priced for the condition of the media. I bought 8 records that have been on my want list that I have never see anywhere else. AND...I received a discount for cash! The store attendant was friendly and played excellent browsing music at just the right db level. Will definitely return on my next trip to Baltimore! Highly recommend this store to the serious (or not) vinyl collector. Metered parking out front curbside.

Gregg E.

Yelp
One of the best record shops in Baltimore for punk/hardcore/emo stuff. The staff is knowledgeable, they have awesome deals on both new and used stuff, and it's super easy to spend over an hour here just browsing and checking out the old 1980s Baltimore punk flyers and setlists. Super cool place.
google avatar

Ericka S.

Yelp
The go-to place if you're looking for all things rock, punk, and thrash from all eras. Keeps a diverse selection of vinyls, CDs, and even tapes. Also has a very small hip hop section too, and they say they are working on expanding slowly. But this is mostly for the rock kids out there. But I am here to praise the Amazing staff. And when I say amazing, I mean "after spending a nice amount of money, we had a long and frank discussion on the quality of music today, and why Beyonce absolutely sucks ass" type levels of amazing. Will be back again, very soon.
google avatar

Yelp
When your store is named after a Husker Du song...it's gotta be good! This little record shop is nested in the back of a book/comic shop...nice selection of later issue punk (didn't see a ton of older stuff in my visit). Also a small selection of standard issue 60s-90s rock LPs. Lots of 45s (primarily punk, but spotted a few 90s alternative/indie singles in there). Also a small selection R&B/Reggae... Overall prices are spot on and organization is solid too! Worth a stop if you're in the area hitting the other record stores in the neighborhood...

Jim P.

Yelp
Amazing spot!! Great prices and awesome stock! Customer service is amazing! Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
Living in Philly and having my parents live in Silver Spring, this shop is a must every time I make the drive down. You'll find an unbeatable selection of punk and hardcore albums, all at great prices. If you're a fan of the scene make sure you take a long look around the store. You'll see a number of old show flyers and posters from legendary bands. On top of it all, the owner is one of the nicest, friendliest record store guys! A must stop for any vinyl collector in or around the DC/Baltimore area!
google avatar

Ray H.

Yelp
I visited here while on a business trip out east about 3 weeks ago. I was originally going to head to Soundgarden but people pointed me towards this place instead and boy was I glad. Owner and I chatted it up about hardcore and touring. Had a great selection of new and used vinyl and is a MUST for anyone in that area. I dropped around $60 there but easily could have spent another $60.
google avatar

Samantha G.

Yelp
Not into the punk/hardcore scene, but if you are, this is your spot. Also, I don't own a record player. I did buy a Neil Young cassette tape of After the Gold Rush here for $3 without being judged. I kind of felt like I was recusing it because it looked sad surrounded by all the black metal. Neil seemed happy to be out of there. Cool spot if you're into that stuff though and super nice owner.
google avatar

J H.

Yelp
Great record store here folks. I've been in here twice and I find amazing shit every time. It's like I am stepping back into time and finding all the records I sorely miss from my youth. And they are in great condition and quite affordable. Sure, it's predominantly punk, hardcore and metal-y type stuff mostly, but there are some fantastic atypical finds (indie, new wave, art rock, prog shit) in the new arrivals sections of the store. Highly organized, not junky in the least. The owner will also make very fair deals with you. Top Notch.. For the genres they focus on, it's the best in the DC-Baltimore region.
google avatar

Lillian C.

Yelp
Reasonably priced records and a great selection- one of the few times i actually had to "weed down" what I picked out so I didn't go overboard. Most record stores you have to rummage through an ocean of records no one will buy to get to a decent one, this is pure content. I have to drive to Baltimore from DC to get good records but this store makes it well worth it.
google avatar

Jen T.

Yelp
I just want to add my support of this place, although Kristin and Katie basically said it all! It's great, Tony's great, and I'm glad it is still around even though I don't get up to Towson much anymore. Big, big ups. Go here if you are ever anywhere nearby! If you're a little confused as to its location, just go into Legends Comics on York Rd (right off the circle on the Recher Theatre side) and walk straight to the back of the store to find it.
google avatar

Will S.

Yelp
This is the best place I have ever been to buy punk records. Tony stocks records from tons of labels major and minor and even has stuff from local distros and the like. And he knows everything that's in the store and will make good suggestions. There's more than punk here too. There are two very large sections of (good) classic rock, reggae/ska & dub and soul. I think the best thing I got from here was a brand new bootleg of Leatherface's Mush LP. Seriously, who else is going to have anything as awesome as this?
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
Gone in there a few times at the old location, stopped in at the new on inside of Atomic Books recently. The guy that works there is really friendly and helpful, and the selection of music is *outstanding*. The perfect record shop in Baltimore!
google avatar

Patrick F.

Yelp
Ok I am new to this kind of place. They sell records which is cool if you got a record player . I don't got one. Oh well too bad for me. They also got tapes. But hardly any CDs. I wish they had more CDs. But whatever. The owner is really cool and knows a lot about music . I feel like I could talk to him for 100 hours about punk rock music. The store is in a cute location and me and my crew think it is just perfect. If you are in Baltimore and want to check out a great independent punk rock store this is the place to go. I would give it 5 stars if they sold more CDs but like I said before they don't so I am only giving it 4 starts.
google avatar

Kurt A.

Yelp
A super friendly and helpful owner in a well-organized shop. He favors punk, classic rock and soul records, but has a bit from other genres. I didn't find anything in the main racks, but I scored 12 great records in the $1 boxes, so I went home very happy.

sven g.

Yelp
I'm a record store nut, and whenever I travel I seek out record stores as a primary part of my travel plans. So it would seem that I might have a difficult time picking favorites. Not so. This is the best record store I have ever been to in the entire world. Period. The selection is exactly what you are looking for, what you didn't realize you were looking for, and nothing you aren't looking for. And dude is way nice and super excited to talk music with anyone anytime. Does it get any better than this? I can't imagine that it does.
google avatar

Ida L.

Yelp
Best record store in Baltimore hands down!
google avatar

Steve W.

Yelp
Store inventory is obviously about personal taste, but I enjoyed speaking with the employee. I liked the style of one of their shirts a lot, and he went ahead and gave me the name/portfolio link of the artist who designed it. I love having that level of interaction in stores.
google avatar

Kevin S.

Yelp
Great rekkid shop, and now in Atomic Books?!

Alice G.

Yelp
AMAZING RECORD STORE! Has tons of awesome used and new records, the nicest and best owner ever, and a really great atmosphere. Definitely one of the best record stores on the east coast, period.
google avatar

Charlie M.

Yelp
Tony is a wealth of musical knowledge. Start a chat while combing through the bins, and five minutes later he'll be able to make a suggestion that you're guaranteed to love if you're daring enough to take a chance and buy the record.
google avatar

Matthew B.

Yelp
A place to start/build your collection of punk rock classics. The new arrivals are always a surprise!
google avatar

Christopher B.

Yelp
Not really a hardcore/punk guy but they always have some classic rock and alternative hiding on the shelves. I found an awesome flaming lips box set here. Got it signed by wayne coyne and poof! Prized possession much?!
google avatar

Katie M.

Yelp
best record store in the baltimore/md area! you can pretty much buy anything you want, or have anything ordered, and get the best suggestions from tony.

Ritchie G.

Yelp
Sold part of my vinyl collection to Tony. This guy is straight out of "Hi Fidelity." A real music and record fan. Most enjoyable transaction I've had in a very long time.

Frankie F.

Yelp
Awesome! They have a legit variety of music here crammed in a pretty small space (including metal). I heard something about them expanding the record part into a larger space, so that would be good. The front of the store is a bookstore with some pretty awesome things. Overall, regardless of your taste in music, you WILL find SOMETHING.
google avatar

Brad G.

Yelp
an actual perfect record store. great selection, great prices, friendly staff, located inside a comic book store. if i were to try to think of a downside, it would be that i can't ever go here without dropping at least $150. i get a LOT for that money though.

kristin g.

Yelp
this shop, small in square footage but large in heart, will have EVERYTHING you need to complete or enhance your punk/hardcore/thrash/indie record/cd collection. if they don't, you can always leave with that new single you heard about from "that one band that sounds like.." because tony behind the counter will undoubtedly be able to tell you the name of the band and probably a story about them to boot. you can sell your old collections as well as buy someone else's gems, and tickets for many ottobar shows are sold here too! (located in the back of legend's comics on york rd)
