"Located in the pretty Cathedral Quarter, this intimate restaurant comes with rustic décor, a black and white tiled floor and a buzzy vibe – all wrapped up inside a lovely 19th-century sandstone building. Top Scottish produce features heavily in the consummately seasoned Italian dishes, where pasta takes the lead; do yourself a favour and order the terrific beef fat potato strati as a side if they're available. For drinks, why not opt for their homemade vermouth, limoncello, coffee liqueur or kombucha, then stay overnight in one of the rooms?" - Michelin Inspector

Great location, very atmospheric. Nice for a romantic dinner, plenty of separation between tables. Service was prompt and attentive. Food though, ugh. Unfortunately hampered by the chef who has some kind of fixation with putting too much salt in every dish. Wind that back a bit and this could be 3 stars. Relatively fair priced so that was something. Sorry. Oops just took another star off for the ‘Opt Svc Ch’ already on the bill. Running a restaurant in this economy is difficult, maybe they shouldn’t.

Place small but quaint inside. There on Saturday 4.1.25. food ok but the Pappardella not up to much. The glazed beef the meat did taste nice but the sauce ruined it so much so we called for the bill very quickly. I was feeling awful so did not check the bill the waiter asked me to check but my fault I desperately wanted home. I offered a tip and he said it's ok you have already paid. I normative 10% we'll always do. However when I got home they had taken £7.13, 12.5%tip and £1 for their chosen charity. I am outraged at this. I have my own charities I support and I don't give 12.5%. Staff deserve to be paid a proper wage and given the prices on their menu they should be able to do that. Will never go back, cannot recommend it and would advise folk to check and only pay these additional charges if you feel it's correct. I will in future no matter how ill I feel better checking bills as I visit a restaurant at least once a week and this is the first I've had a service charge added. Yes the bill does clearly state it's discretionary putting the onus on the diner to say no to the poor staff member.

Absolutely amazing experience at Celentano's. My niece recommended the restaurant to us and it'd been on our list to visit for ages. When we heard the team was moving venues we booked so that we could experience the restaurant in its original location. What a stunning building, ambience was just perfect. As for the food, just wonderful. We sampled the lasagne fritti - little balls of unctuous deliciousness, and some lovely sourdough and fabulous rich olive oil. We shared the dexter beef papardelle. Wow. The flavours were stunning, so deep and rich, but without being heavy at all, just delicious. We both then had the trout, which was cooked perfectly. A really crispy skin, with beautiful firm, moist fish. We shared the gem salad with pickled vegetables, which was also so flavoursome, and the layered potatoes which were just exquisite, I don't think I've ever tasted potatoes quite as good as these. We both had the Affogato which we love generally, this was different, deconstructed almost, but just a delight to eat as the flavours were all distinct, but melded together wonderfully. We each had a cocktail followed by the 500ml carafes of wine. Such a great idea as we were able to sample both red and white with our meal. Last but not least, service was great. Attentive and unobtrusive, the way it should be. All in all a perfect evening. Thank you to all. We will return when Celentanos returns in it's new location.

Had an absolutely stunning meal here last night. It’s now my favourite restaurant in Glasgow. The upstairs dining room is so beautiful and has such a wonderful atmosphere - there is nowhere like it in the city. Lovely rustic decor, great background music, and candlelight helps create a relaxed atmosphere. The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and recommended a lovely white wine. The two pasta dishes we had were the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had - just an amazing combination of flavours and textures. Lots of options for vegetarians and pescatarians. A really special place and perfect for a romantic date or to celebrate a special occasion.

Popped in for lunch on a Sunday while exploring the cathedral. The price felt a little steep for a two course meal (it was a fixed price menu on sundays) but the food really blew us away. It was beautiful and delicious. Have recommended to our Glasgow guide. One of our best dining experiences in Scotland!

We were here on Friday, a party of 7. I have a nut allergy and was brought 2 dishes with walnuts and hazelnuts. The hazelnut dish was removed as could easily see them, and I ate the walnut dish and had an allergic reaction where I had to take antihistamines. Wait staff did not seem to care nor did the kitchen. Also, my friend that is celiac was brought a sauce that had gluten and they had to run and tell her not to eat it. Don’t go here if you have allergies.

Just left from a family meal and from making the reservation over the phone until paying the bill, the service was simply phenomenal. The gent who waited our table this evening (we didn’t catch his name unfortunately) was absolutely 1st class, exceptionally friendly and had a really lovely nature. The food was absolutely exceptional and after multiple rounds of various cocktails, the bar staff deserve a big shoutout as well! A great choice if you’re looking for something a little different from your average flavour pairings, would highly recommend!

Amazing Italian cuisine with a twist by a South African.chef. Great experience from antipasti to desserts. Eva is an impeccable host and Dave a great cocktail mixer, Dirty Martini not to be missed.
