I recently purchased from Celeste Design at the WIIN Las Vegas show and wanted to share my experience for other buyers.
I actually worked directly with Celeste at her booth. She approached me as I was walking by, invited me to take a look, and explained that I came at a great time because she was offering “last packs” at a discounted show rate. Based on that conversation, I understood that I was purchasing complete packs, just at a reduced price.
As a business owner who models and sells my own inventory, I was very clear that I only purchase items I can personally wear and promote. I even tried on several pieces at the booth to ensure they fit and aligned with my brand before making the purchase.
When I received my order, most of the items were nice and some did arrive as expected. However, there were discrepancies with a few styles that were not sent as complete packs. Instead, I received scattered sizes (one or two pieces of certain styles), which was not communicated at the time of purchase.
What appears to have happened is that for the styles that were not available in full, additional pieces from other styles were substituted. While I did receive a similar overall quantity of items, that is not the same as receiving the specific packs that were originally selected.
I was also told that I “received my money’s worth” based on the total number of pieces, but in wholesale purchasing, that is not how orders are evaluated. Buyers select specific styles and size runs for a reason—especially when branding, modeling, and merchandising are involved.
Additionally, referencing a higher invoice total compared to what I was charged does not address the core issue, which is the difference between what was communicated at the time of sale and what was actually delivered.
Overall, while some of the pieces are very cute, the main concern is the lack of clear communication and accurate representation of inventory at the time of purchase.
I would strongly recommend that other buyers confirm exact quantities, pack details, and size breakdowns before completing a purchase, especially at trade shows.
Transparency and clarity would significantly improve the buying experience.
