My wife has been going here for 20 years. Awesome staff and always amazing food. Pink Cadillac margarita if you want to have a great day. We hosted our baby shower here and highly recommend it for and large group occasions

I came here for a baby shower. You arrive and are thinking where is my GPS taking me. You park and enter the restaurant. It is multi levels with large space for groups. It was pretty popular. The service was slow and we were watching each other each because food came out at random times. Also get your drink and forget refills. The cheese use for cheese enchiladas seemed like American. Aka not the biggest fan. It wasn't horrible just not the best Mexican ever.

The new manager (Fernando), the bald guy that walks around like he owns the place is destroying the atmosphere and feel of Celia’s. This used to be my favorite place to go. Split some apps and margs with the girls!! The last time I was there I spent like $20 on the juke box, he turned it off bc we were having a good time. We weren’t being loud or annoying or anything like that. Before this guy popped up we used to listen to fun beats and dance in the bar area. I do want to shine a light on the bartender/wait staff. Cesar, Erica and Raul are amazing staff. So nice and very professional. They really make the space feel welcoming and make some of the best drinks!

Google
Good for big groups. All the tables are spaced well. They have a good selection of tequila and a knowledgeable staff that will help you make the right choice. It’s a great place if you’re getting drinks. They have margarita pictures. The food was OK. They do this thing with some of their spicy foods where there is some sweet component which I personally dislike. The free chips and salsa were great.

The location of this resto might be off for those who are not local but its been there for a while. The inside of the restaurant is like Encanto the Disney come to life. A very Mexican vibe. The food is ok and the unlimited chips and salsa is always a good thing. The frozen Margarita though is like a smoothie that made me really full. Price is reasonable and the resto has been a staple so you can't go wrong.

Google
Don't know of any Mexican restaurant that does not give a small complimentary salsa. Daly City does not, the other ones do. For a $30 plate, they could have thrown it in...yet if you sit down you get all you can eat salsa. Kind of weird. Food is great, but policy isn't.

L C.

Google
Great Mexican food, Don't recommend the non Mexican offerings. I ordered the hamburger on a French roll which was disappointing cause they used a small soft hoagie roll with a preformed hamburger patty cut in half. Again the Mexican food we had were delicious and would go back again for.

Google
Great spot for lunch if you like Mexican food. Their chips and salsa are freshly made, and you can taste it with every bite. We ordered the enchiladas and tacos. Get the enchiladas with carne asada instead of chicken or ground beef. Our server was very attentive to our table despite the restaurant being packed due to several large parties being seated nearby. It was also nice that they have several large screen tvs, so you can watch either football on Sundays or any other sporting events that might be going on at that time. There's plenty of parking all around the restaurant, so that won't be an issue.

Yelp
The Celia's Super Special isn't a meal, it's a Mega Knight dropping from the sky. I'm pretty sure the wait staff are Golems, because they delivered that enormous platter to my table with an unshakeable resolve. My friend, on the other hand, went with the Tortilla Soup. The menu described a "unique sauce," and what arrived was less soup and more a defensive structure. It looked like a barbarian hut, with oversized carrots and chicken strips forming a solid wall, protected by a molten cheese river that flowed around the perimeter. The chips and salsa were a crucial first attack. The salsa was so hot and flavorful, it felt like a Fireball hitting my taste buds. I'm fairly certain I saw my friend's eyes get wider, as if she was watching her own tower get melted by a Dragon. We'll be back, of course. For all its chaotic energy, Celia's is the kind of place where you leave with a full belly and a great story. Just don't forget to bring your battle strategies.

Yelp
I haven't been to this restaurant in years and decided to give it another chance. From what I recalled the food used to be good though I have to say this was an overall mediocre experience as far as flavors go. The restaurant itself is obviously old and not quite sure how often they clean the building but floors felt sticky and there were cob webs hanging above where we were seated. The service was quick though staff did not check in on us. We ordered the chimichanguitas for apps which was probably the best dish out of everything else. It was packed with beef and had a nice finishing touch with the guacamole. The New York steak on the otherhand was super bland and tough, nothing special. The enchilada and tamal was packed with Al pastor but did not enjoy it since the meat tasted extremely sour! The portions could easily shared between 2 people but for the price you pay you mine as well go to El Farolito in the city. Just sayin! I found this place to be a waste of money.

Yelp
Celia's is decent, it's been a while since I've been to this location. The server was hella nice and accommodating since there was hella of us. The food was good, nothing too fancy. The prices are steep, but thats how it is now. The inside is the same, nothing different after years. The service was pretty good even while there were graduation parties along with happy hour and regular guests.

Yelp
They Ripped Me Off Via Delivery I like the Celia's on Gellert in Daly City. When I'm in restaurant. And you get up to two bowls of chips and salsa. When you order for delivery you get ripped off. A higher base cost and no chips and salsa. Also, 3 tortillas. Are you effing kidding me?!? A $40+ meal and only THREE damned tortillas? They know you can't do anything about it so steal from you when you order delivery. Not cool, Celia's, so it's earned you a 1 star review. Now I have to go to the store tomorrow for tortillas. Will not order from them again for delivery. Really pissed off.

Yelp
Was invited here to celebrate with family and remembered why I don't eat here. As someone who is Mexican, they shouldn't even be calling themselves a Mexican restaurant. It's like over priced Taco Bell. I thought I would be safe getting a taco salad because how do you mess that up? Two bites in and I sent it back. They used what tasted like Kraft cheese and that was the only flavor. My husband ordered the sampler entree plate (I forget what it's called but it's about $30). Nothing on that plate had any flavor except for the beans which I'm pretty sure were just canned refried beans. The server also barely checked on us and never offered drink refills, instead spent most of the time sitting in an empty booth on her phone. Definitely will not be eating here again.

Yelp
I love coming here with my family! We've been coming here for years!!! This place is family friendly and best of all the food is delish!!! Here's a few of our suggestions! Arros con pollo with extra cheese, side of rice and beans, and don't forget their slaw! Another family fav is the their fajitas plate and we always get flour tortillas that are house made. Their food is consistent and so flavorful! One time I ordered extra flour tortillas with my to go order and when I got home they weren't in my bag. Going back wasn't an option because we live so far so I called and spoke to the manager and he happily replied to me to come back and he'll comp my order of arros con pollo for the mishap. He kept his word and because of that I left a good tip. I appreciate a person who keeps their word and makes sure that customers are happy.

Yelp
Let's start with the best thing about Celia's. Salsa! This is currently my favorite salsa in the area. It's got a lovely roasted tomato flavor with just enough garlic and kick. Delicate, but bold. House made chips are also very excellent here. Chips are very important and these guys know it. For lunch I had the seafood salad. It was good, but not amazing. But they were generous with the crab and shrimp and the price was good. I just thought it could use some more pizazz. It was pretty basic. Good service, nice atmosphere and decor, and clean bathrooms. I will come back for dinner, especially in the summer when the patios would be ideal.

Yelp
I will never go here again... IF I decide to go back, I'll go to San Bruno... I ordered enchiladas for the first time ever...(I usually only order the chicken tortilla soup)... I took a bite and I almost broke my freaking tooth on part of a piece of plastic from something... The waiter barely apologized... like he just took the piece of plastic to show his coworker/boss and I wasn't comped for the meal. They just made me the same exact meal which I didn't even eat... and I ended up paying for my meal and leaving. no tip because why? the manager didn't even come out... rude.

Yelp
Update to my last review - we came to Celia's for a weekend lunch and had a much better experience than our first time around. I ordered the queso fundido and ceviche tostada and both were delicious. We asked for corn tortillas on the side of the queso and it was great to fold the oozy, hot cheese into the warm tortilla and eat it like a mini cheese quesadilla. The ceviche was very citrusy and refreshing. I washed everything down with a super margarita which was not watered down at all, yay! My husband ordered an express burrito which was HUGE. It was easily enough for three meals, so he had plenty of leftovers. The kids got some nuggets and fries as well as a burrito with rice and beans. I'm not a fan of the seasoning they use on their fries but at least the kids were willing to eat them. Complimentary chips and salsa. Chips are fresh and warm, the salsa has a kick to it, it would have been nice to have a milder option.

Yelp
Took my Mother there for lunch today, the service was mediocre at best . The food was terrible, plain , dry chicken in the enchiladas, my wife ordered a carnita sope it was hard as a rock and very little meat . Everything was dull and bland . The pineapple margarita was watered down couldn't taste any tequila, for 14 dollars a drink for barely anything was a total rip off . My mother feels sick with an upset stomach. This whole experience was a waste of time and money. I will be paying a visit tomorrow to see the manager. I understand now , why a huge restaurant with so many empty seats , felt like a ghost town - Probably because of the horrible food and service. Will never eat there again.

Yelp
Came by for a work holiday get together on a weeknight. We were seated downstairs. There's 3 levels. We were a group of 12 and had the entire downstairs to ourselves. Which meant the waiter took a while to take our order. A few times we were tired of waiting so we went to the bar to get drinks, another time up to the hostess to get a waiter to take our order and once again up to the hostess to pay the bill. There was no bathroom downstairs but we could definitely smell the bathroom where we sat. It was very unpleasant. The drink menu at the bar has no prices whatsoever. Best to ask for prices prior to ordering if you don't want any surprises. Our group got a pitcher of margarita - $42.95 and a pitcher of Poloma - $52.25 with an automatic service charge/tip of 18%. It had a decent amount of alcohol in it. Not super strong and not super light either. Even on a weeknight there was a mariachi band. I only came for drinks. My colleagues said their food was either good or just ok. Portions were large. But ultimately we all agreed we would have our holiday dinner elsewhere next year.

Yelp
Haven't been here in probably 15+ years- joined and friend for lunch last week and everything was good. Around noon, it was nice and quiet maybe 4 other tables occupied. Food was good, my fajitas were hot, my daughter's burrito was giiiinormous lol- the littles had beans and rice-- only complaint would be the service. For only having 4:5 tables to serve, we were never checked on, drink never refilled, couldn't even get anyone's attention for an extra plate & napkins. Had to grab the check myself from the hostess because our server was nowhere to be found.

Yelp
The food was good. I love coming here for the enchiladas. Black beans always good. Rice was delicious but they have very little compared to other times. My husband said carne asada was good as well. Flan was delicious. I like this Celia's because they are quick and the wait staff are friendly. This was on a Tuesday afternoon and it was busy. We sat in booth which is a little old but hey food was good.

Yelp
This restaurant was quite a good find. My friend and I were looking to eat at a sit down Mexican restaurant, other than the ones we had already tried. We decided on Celia's based on our hangout location at the time. I was quite surprised at how nice the restaurant and its staff was. The place seemed quite hidden. If it wasn't for the navigation app, I wouldn't have located the place. The taste of their food was amazing and the portions were quite generously sized. I am so glad we decided to give this particular Celia's location a try. There will definitely be more lunch or dinner outings to this eatery! Thank you for providing such great food, wonderful ambiance and professional service.

Yelp
This location has the best Chicken Tortilla Soup--no other Celia's makes it quite like they do. However, the restaurant's shortcomings lie with the hostesses. They are quite unprofessional. Every time I order, I specify no cheese due to my lactose intolerance. Even when I include this in my online instructions or mention it over the phone, they still get it wrong. It's incredibly frustrating, and I always have to double-check my food because they seem unable to do their jobs correctly. The hostesses are so unprofessional that every time I walk in, they are busy goofing around and flirting with other staff instead of focusing on their work. If they paid more attention, perhaps they wouldn't make as many mistakes with orders. I've noticed that when I place an online order in the evening, they either don't receive it or have "accidentally canceled" it. The excuse I always hear is that "the system is new and they weren't aware an order was placed." They've been saying this for a year now, and at this point, it just seems like a lack of competence.

Yelp
My husband and I arrived around 6:10 and we were seated promptly. We placed our order and then waited...and waited. Our waiter kept saying he would check on the food others have been seated and their food was served. We finally walked out at 7:10 and ended up at chick-fil-a.

Yelp
Celia's is the place to be in DC (Daly City) ! Great Mexican food & the drinks never disappoint. Service is fast & friendly too! Plenty of parking. Convenient location! They have tvs and a jukebox if you want to listen to music of your choice.
google avatar

Berndette A.

Yelp
Everything about this restaurant was amazing from the bar service & then our meals really authentic. The servers were excellent!
google avatar

Yelp
Food is consistent and always hot. Drinks are on point and it's my favorite place. They have plenty of parking bartenders are always on point give them a raise!
google avatar

Eric B.

Yelp
I came back here for drinks and dinner and the fajita burrito was massive! This definitely caught me by surprises because I didn't expect it to be a wet burrito. The bar and the drinks are great as always but I could not finish my burrito and I had to take it home! The burrito was not bad and it had plenty of meat but I'm not too big on wet burritos
google avatar

Yelp
Update to last review. Food was real tasty and service was great. I was pleasantly surprised this time. The place needs a serious renovation though.

Lo B.

Yelp
spent $100 on to go order and they actually asked me to pay $2.75 for chips and salsa. Which is free when you eat at the restaurant. So much for customer service on $100 order JOKE
google avatar

john d.

Yelp
Maybe by putting some happy hour prices on your happy hour menu... and it would help if the waiter brought the right thing you ordered

Yelp
This was a girl's night out. We had just finished ace throwing and we all got hungry. We needed a place nearby and will accommodate 7 hungry women and Celia's was the vote. Staff: We waited a little longer and was curious as to why it was taking so long. The restaurant wasn't too busy. Also, training to be a good host is a must especially in this business. I'm giving 4 stars because our server made up for it. She was attentive and put up w 7 women who were just having a good time. Food: was delicious, filling, huge portions and to top it off, their chips and salsa were delicious (and we had several refills of chips) Location/Parking: Celia's is located on Gellert and Hickey Blvd they have their own private lot. When done you can drive to Serramonte and go for a walk. Enjoy!
google avatar

Katie E.

Yelp
Large portions of sadly mediocre food which leads to lots of waste. The service was very friendly and helpful. Just wish the food was good.
google avatar

Michelle E.

Yelp
We came in for a pre-dinner drink a little after 6pm. Just missed their happy hour. However, our server was kind enough to accommodate us with the happy hour menu. Thank you! Ordered a house margarita and a sampler plate. Did not know that their appetizer plate could count as an entire meal, it is HUGE. We ended up skipping dinner after that visit :) Cesar the bartender is also as nice as all Yelpers say.
google avatar

Cera-Lyn S.

Yelp
I think this place doesn't get enough credit. The server was attentive and everything we ate was delicious. The drinks were strong and the tortilla chips and salsa are always fresh. Great spot to watch the game and we were able to bring our dogs and sit in the outside patio. They turned on the heat lamp for us and the tv so great staff! Would come back again.

Leo B.

Yelp
I'm not usually one to leave reviews, but I feel it's worth mentioning how much the quality of the food has declined over the years. I ordered the Plato Especial, which includes a flauta, taco, enchilada, and a 5oz steak served with beans and rice. Unfortunately, the food lacked flavor and seasoning--it felt bland and watered down. While the dining experience and atmosphere are great and give off an authentic "in Mexico" vibe, the food simply doesn't live up to the hype or the price. This will most likely the last time I dine here :(
google avatar

Clifford W.

Yelp
Free parking adjacent to Celia. Ate late lunch here. I ordered Celia special combo and brother ordered Fajitas. Special combo had enchilada, taco, relleno, burrito, rice, and beans. Each item tasted good to average. Fajita was okay. Chips and salsa beginning good. Tortilla with butter good. Restaurant might need a decor overhaul. I remember eating here ten years ago and the interior looks the same, tables, chairs, walls. Service standard. Overall, 3 stars out of 5.

Craig D.

Yelp
I arrived at 8:23PM on 12/16/24. I was told they close at 8:30PM. I said, it's not yet 8:30PM and was told the kitchen had already shut down. If you advertise on your website that you are open until 8:30PM then you should continue to seat people until that time. Secondly, I eat there about once every 10 days and am recognized by most of the staff. This is how they treat a regular customer who is also a very generous tipper (25%+). Amazing! I won't be back. I went next door to the Outback Restaurant and enjoyed a nice meal. This will be my new place in the area.

Cresha G.

Yelp
I ordered a shredded chicken burrito with sour cream on top. the chips and salsa came before the meal. the salsa was bland and nasty. This surprised me coming from a Mexican restaurant. because this was my fist time going here I thought the burrito would be my best choice. But When I got my burrito I was also disappointed. The sauce on the side was nasty, the burrito lacked flavor. I also felt sick while i was eating the food. that was my first and will be my last time at this establishment. if 0 was an option that is what I would give them.

Yelp
I just finished having a meal on Cinco De Mayo 2024 at Celia's restaurant in Daly City. This place is nostalgic for me because I first enjoyed a meal there many years ago with my parents, siblings, school buddies and later my girlfriend who is now my wife. It's one of the few places that remain of my version of the Bay Area and survived the pandemic lock downs. I am truly grateful that this place is still here and my reverence continues as I get older. I am hoping my children and grandchildren can enjoy this place. The food is ALWAYS GREAT. The service is always friendly, professional and empathetic. I had the Chile Verde with side of rice and black beans today and my better half got the pork enchilada and tamale combo with beans and rice. As usual the seating came with a large basket of freshly fried chips and their homemade salsa. This day, Celia's decorated the place with balloons, mini sombreros with the Celia's 2024 embroidery on it. Today the mariachi band came out, fully dressed and with full brass and strings. I tell you, my heart swooned this day because it reminded me of celebrations like this in my youth when the fullness of Mexican culture revealed itself. Locals mainly frequent this place and many were seniors that probably had been going there for many, many years that I find myself becoming now. May God continue to bless this place and I hope will continue to serve it's special brand of food and Latino hospitality for the community. It's a great spot and I recommend everyone who reads this to go there and give it a try. You won't be disappointed and you may find you become part of the long, beautiful community that Celia's has served for generations.

Yelp
Been coming here for over 12 years, and I can safely say that there is a consistent quality of food and service that I appreciate. I never have to wait longer than 5-10min to be seated, even with a larger group of 4-5 people. My favorite dish is the fajita quesadilla with a side of beans and rice. The cooks always do a great job of capturing traditional Mexican cuisine. The taste is authentic and fresh, for those of us that come from that culture. They also have good bartender and are known for their tasty margaritas, which are a must try if you swing by. I like the social but not too loud ambiance that this place creates. Younger to middle age crowd. Not many hispanic cuisine places in San Rafael that have a consistency in quality food and service. Definitely gonna keep coming back as I always have. Solid spot.
google avatar

Karla K.

Yelp
The food is decent. I enjoyed the decor in the dining area. The women's restrooms need a deep cleaning and renovation.

Yelp
I was here with a group of at least 70 people so we had the bottom and top floor reserved just for us. The bottom floor was a bit hard to walk around and navigate to where the food was set up as the tables and chairs were so close together. There were 3 long tables that fit 12 on one half of the room and same on the other half. It was buffet style: guacamole, tacos (reminded me of Taco Bell but in a good way), quesadillas, beans, rice, chicken enchiladas. We were also able to bring in a cake from outside. Some of the plates and cups had some food stains on them, BUT everything tasted SO good (on clean dish ware lol). Was not expecting how good it was considering the rating of this place. I can possibly see how their rating came to be as it was difficult to catch a waiter to ask for more tortillas or refill our drinks but we were quite a large party so I understand. The bathrooms could also be cleaned more frequently...but hey, I was stuffed and enjoyed all my food.
google avatar

Yelp
I came to Celia's for the first time for happy hour with my coworkers and I was satisfied! We ordered Celia's sampler which comes with a quesadilla, nachos and a few other things. We also were given chips with salsa on the house. Their salsa was pretty spicy. I also ordered their pina colada which was so delicious. This is a good place to hangout. Food and drinks came out very promptly as well. Also easy to find parking.
google avatar

Review L.

Yelp
Met my bestie for dinner and a margarita. Celia's makes the best margaritas and appetizers. Happy hours you can get a good deal on these. The chips are always good they bring them hot in a basket and they are freshly made in house. The red dipping salsa goes well with the chips and tastes fresh and has just enough of a spicy bite. For dinner...the food left a lot to be desired. They used to make the best refried beans but this time the portions were small and the beans were dry which denotes not fresh or were sitting too long at the steam table in the back. The rice meh. I ordered two chimichangas with chicken and the chicken meat was so minced it was like mush. The cole slaw had not enough of the mayo dressing so it tasted dry. The prices are up there (sign of the times) and food not worth what we paid. The service was attentive and cordial. So hard to find good Mexican food these days.

Yelp
We ate here yesterday for my wife's birthday around 3pm. Our party was 8 adults and 3 babies under 2 years old. It wasn't crowded. We ordered our food and the wait wasn't long. For appetizers, we tried the chicken wings and chicken quesadilla. The wings were overcooked and small. The quesadilla was watery. When the waiter dropped off the appetizers, my wife asked him for some small plates. He gave her a funny look like he didn't want to be bothered. Did he expect us to use our napkins to eat on? The quality of the food just wasn't good. I ordered 3 chicken enchiladas with rice. The enchiladas were also watery. I don't know how this could be unless they were frozen. It just didn't taste good. My wife said her food was very bland especially the taco. Everyone else said their food was just okay. As for the service, the waiter doesn't come back to check on you or refill your water. He drops off your food and you don't see him again until he brings your check. One good thing about the waiter is that he tries to remember everyone's order, using his memory, without writing it down. It was a big order and he got almost all of it correct except for my daughter's food. Very good try though! Don't be fooled by the receipt. For a party of 6, they automatically charge the 18% gratuity to your bill but call it a "service charge" on the receipt. When they take your card and come back with the final receipt for you to sign, it has another line for you to add a tip. Not so fast Celia's, you already took your tip. Beware folks, a lot of restaurants have been using this trickery for some time now. For the amount of money I spent on bad food and terrible service, I'm not gonna give you another tip. I owe my wife another birthday dinner because this was very disappointing. It's safe to say this was last time spending money here.

Gary S.

Yelp
Food was just so so. Quality of food tonight was not up to its normal standards Nachos served tasted stale Back tonight. Price increase. The was bland. It all tasted the same. Use to be good

Gina B.

Yelp
While the service was decent the food was terrible. The audacity to bring out Nachos with brown guacamole. Initially I thought i had placed in some type of heater hence the brown color but was cold to the touch so it just turned brown from sitting out. I used to love Celia's but it has really gone downhill to serve the food they served us was mind blowing, Not fresh at all
google avatar

Karen T.

Yelp
Our waitress was great, I didn't get her name. I just wanted to point that out first! But damn they have some guys staff that was literally just sitting around in the back of the restaurant instead of working. I would think if they were on break then they would sit in a break room or something. I love the decor at this location and the fireplace real cute, the food is ok, not amazing but it was satisfying. If I'm around that area and was craving a plate of Mexican food I would go back.

Yelp
I do not understand the other ratings...we have been here several times and always had outstanding service! Efficient, professional and friendly. The food is consistently awesome. The complimentary chips and salsa is like a warm welcome. The salsa can come mild or regular. We ordered the Queso Fundido...a bit greasy but we love this dish. Comes with flour/corn tortillas. We always order the Enchiladas with cheese and mole sauce...always a knock out! Lastly we order a combination of Chicken and Vegetable Fajita...the best! The Strawberry Margarita comes in a huge glass...so generous! Our server Diego was very attentive. Will always come back to this Celia's...

Yelp
Really? We show up and they are closed. But their doors are open? It's 9:16pm!!!!! No updates online that they are closed. This is not cool. I just wasted money on an Uber! Not cool Celia's.

Yelp
Standard Mexican fare at outrageously high prices. Pretty much everything was at least $20
