Popped in here yesterday for a few bottles hosting some friends and they were all quite delicious while also being modestly priced. Was very well laid out and the staff member who assisted us was just lovely. Will definitely be back!

Cellar13 has one of the finest selections of wine in Atlanta. His focus on European and US wines keeps the store focused and enjoyable to browse. What truly sets this store apart from other retailers is the owner, John. He has serious depth of knowledge and seeks well crafted and excellent value wines at all price levels; from cellar-able classics to everyday drinkers it is clear he isn’t just in the business of selling wines but providing knowledge and experience. He has introduced me to many a hidden gem and for that has won my business repeatedly ever since I first walked in the store. Thanks John!

I have been buying wine from Cellar 13 for years. John’s knowledge is incredible and his taste is excellent. If you really know and like wine, this is the place. If you don’t, all you need to do is describe what you like in a wine and John will steer you to a great choice. I’m pretty sure he has personally tasted everything he sells.

This is an awesome store! John does a great job of finding higher end Burgundy and Rhone wines, but there are enough "everyday" things that you don't have to be spending into the super high end to find something for your Wednesday night. But if you give John your tastes he can certainly put together a great case of wine for you. Don't be put off because it's in a strip mall!

Highly recommend! Great selection from a variety of regions and a variety of price ranges. John is very knowledgeable about the stock and incredibly helpful overall. Love the smaller wineries that are highlighted throughout the store.

This is the best wine shop in Atlanta. Period. The owner is always there and willing to share his expert wine knowledge. They have a good selection of a wide variety of wines. The best thing about this shop is that the owner hand picks every wine himself, so no bad wines get through the cracks. If you have a date and want to make sure the wine is excellent, go here and see them. They have wines in a wide variety of prices, from a $10 zin to a $200 Bordeaux. For several years I shopped at many of the other wine stores in Atlanta, but over the past few years I've only gone here. Don't bother looking anywhere else. They have the best service and wines in the city.

Today was my first experience shopping here, and it was most positive. I spent a good 20-25 minutes with John, discussing attributes and varietals, who obviously knows his wines. Prices are competitive, and I just wish his selection was larger. However, he justifiably prides himself on identifying smaller and quality producers, at various price points, while constantly bringin in new stuff. So, many quality and not quantity is the operative concept here. Purchasing a case of wine nets a 10% discount, which makes for a good deal.

Go there. OK, so that's not enough to write here. I'll add that we have been buying from, and listening to, John for a couple of years now, his counsel has always been spot on, he can tell from what we buy what he suggests we should buy, and no issues there. Selection is really unique, rare finds, and his emails are always educational and tempting. He really lives the wine-life, and helps us all learn more and enjoy wine more.

When I judge a wine shop, I take the following into consideration: First, I like buying from someone who is knowledgeable and gives me personal attention to find what I want. Second, I like this service to be respectful, and hate the snobby/pretentious type. Third, I like not feeling completely ripped off when I look up the bottles price online. John at Cellar 13 satisfies all of my requirements. The prices are solid, and the service is what keeps me coming back. If your new to ATL or in need of a new wine merchant, or if you're sick of your current wine guy making you feel like an ass when you cant pronounce "Trockenbeerenauslese," then this is your new spot.

I am hesitant to review this place - it's WAY too good, and if the secret gets out, it might get too crowded :-) I go to John for all my wine needs. Whether it's advice on what to pair with a certain food, looking for the best valued wine within a certain price range, or new things to try. He always has great advice, and can literally suggest the best wine out there within any budget. I highly recommend the events they put on with other restaurants. I've only been to one wine dinner through them, but it was outstanding in every way possible. Check it out and get on the email list. One of my top favorites by far.

I am reluctant to say that this is a serious wine shop. that implies that it lacks fun. if wine isn't fun, why are you drinking it? all that being said, it is serious - in the best possible way. I had a terrific time, and the proprietor, John, is a real gem. were I an Atlanta resident, I am certain that this would be my shop. enough said.

John is super-knowledgeable, yet completely unpretentious and nice. This combination is, to say the least, not a given in this business.

Stopped in to Cellar 13 for the first time tonight for a relatively cheap bottle of cab on my way home from work and ended up with a great Bordeaux and a small piece of wine education. The selection is not massive as previously mentioned but John the owner is great and they have loads of offerings you will not find at Kroger. I will surely be back and would recommend to anyone looking for a new "wine guy".

I heard about this place form a friend and because I was entertaining a bunch of "wine people" (you know the type) I went in and was able to speak with John Passman who is one of the owners. Finally a "Wine Guy " who can talk about wine to a "Non-Wine Guy" He listened to what I was looking for and made a few recommendations on some way I could go and even stayed under my budget. John and the rest of the folks down at Cellar 13 know their stuff and yet aren't pretentious. I have since sent several friends there, some big time wine snobs included, and they all came away impressed with the knowledge, selection and attitude they encountered. I am a fan.

Amongst the many wine shops (well over 20) that I have purchased from in Atlanta over the years, Cellar 13 stands out...not for a huge selection of wines you can just as easily purchase from Kroger, but instead for quality wines that John has personally tasted and chosen. The focus is on French and Italian wines, but he also stocks select domestic vino. If you're looking to expand into more food friendly European wines, this is one of a select group of wine shops you should check out in Atlanta.
