Cemitas Poblanas

I love this place as a restaurant and also as a venue. The food is some of the best I've ever had and I've been to many many restaurants with similar menus, but this place outshines them all. The service is always extraordinary and they go above and beyond the call of duty. I love that it doubles as a venue and they have events quite often that are always guaranteed to entertain. I even came here for my birthday because I wanted to have their delicious food! At that time they had a local DJ and he played Happy Birthday and other birthday themed songs just before I left for the evening. They definitely made me feel special on that day; unforgettable. 11/10 Cannot express how great this establishment is!

Came here for dinner Saturday around 6pm. Sat down right away. Our server was nice and friendly but she didn’t bring us silverware. I had to ask twice. The horchata wasn’t that good, I’ve had better. I had 1 taco Árabe and wasn’t a fan for my taste.. it has a strong chipotle flavor and the meat had a lot of fatty pieces. I also had al pastor tacos and those were delicious! My husband got the cemita milanesa pollo and he said it was very good! My kids shared a 2 taco dinner w rice and beans and they ate it up! My mom had the sopa de res, the server said it wasn’t spicy but it was. We also had the shrimp empanadas and they were 100% Over all good experience. We would return.

Awesome place and delicious food for the price. The employees were very nice and helpful but my only issue is trying to read the menu. The different bands playing were awesome and I loved the ambience

I heard so many good things about this place and decided to stop by. I ordered 3 tacos: 1 alambre, one fish and one al pastor. The tacos were all good. Service was a bit lacking. The waiter never checked up on us after providing us with our food. Never came back to refill our water. Since I was meeting a friend for lunch there, we stayed for about 90 minutes. It took 20+ plus minutes after we ate for the waiter to clean and remove our plates. Mind u, we were 1 of 2 clients, and there were two servers. Our waiter only had our table. Overall great place. I ended up taking a Cemita Poblana and rice order to go

Service Good, clean place and good music (proper volume level). I ordered the stake burrito, Cuban tortas and chicken tacos, all was overall good. I recommend this place to support local businesses.

The food was 10/10. The cemita de milanesa de pollo taste like I am eating one in Puebla. I also had a taco árabe, if you have not had a taco árabe before it's a must to try it. It's a tortilla de arina with carne al pastor salsa chipotle and for the extra good taste add lime.The waitress was very nice and will keep checking to see if everything was ok. . I highly recommend this place.

Live about 10 minutes from here. Most items are super tasty. Ordered many times from here usually food is excellent last few times the food has not been as good for take out. Tacos: cabeza excellent, pastor used to be my favorite from here last time super dry and cold, lungua really good, tacos de alambre always a good choice. Tacos de asada not great. Cemitas and tortas: super tasty the few that I had. Sometimes the chicken can be a bit dry but I like to put a lot of salsa so can't tell. Dine in you will enjoy your food more if you like your food hot. Can be very loud weekend for dinner since they have music and dj. Toodler didn't enjoy music or lights. Take out has been a hit or miss the last few time with food temperature for me.

Blown. Away. Cemitas are my new favorite thing, or maybe Cemitas Poblanas is my new favorite Mexican restaurant. Either way, I am smitten and my mouth is burning and I am happy as heck. Carne Asada Cemitas in the picture. Highest recommendation.

The food s good here .. the cemitas are really good with a lot of cheese much better than other places .. the quesabiirrias with consomé are really good also they have dj live music .. however i don't like going sundays afternoon they have a singer .. nothing wrong with that he's pretty good however i go there after work to eat and relax but the music or the sound is so loud ... is the only thing i will change

Very good meat, great flavor & fat tacos . Totally the best place in this area compared to the other taco joints.

Started coming here weekly a month or two ago and I love it. I'm working my way through the menu and it's all delicious. The Cemitas of course are unique but I had a fajita burrito and it was killer.

Crave worthy Tacos Arabes and the Cemitas are tops here. Always friendly service even for this Gringo. LOL Honestly everything here is delicious.

Bad. Dirty bathroom. Bad service. Just badly !! DO NOT RECOMMEND !! Wanted to charge for a drink that I did order but never received. Service never came to check up if everything was in order as they should be doing.

Wanted to love it, was disappointed. Food is average. Service was fine, looks like it'd be a fun place to hang on a weekend night otherwise I'd pass.

Service for take out was , I'll stop there . Check the menu before you order and look at prices. Burrito Size Flour Tortilla with chicken and cheese folded in half and cut into 4 pieces. Styrofoam take out with a small amount of Pico and Guacamole , Sour cream . $14.00 Dollars , yikes !!!! The Tacos , Asada , mediocre. Pastor outstanding. Cemitas and Rellenos , stop and order these . Im certain there are best on the menu and I will review again . Just disappointed with the pricing and quality of Steak (Beef) , it had that yesterday leftover reheat taste for the price . Will update soon. I really like this place , it had a couple of fails .

Go. Here. Seriously, we took a chance and LOVED it. There was only 1 car in the lot so we had a lot of attention but as we sat and ate more showed up so expect it to get busy as the night goes on. Also the phone was non stop ringing so I think they do a really good take out/pick up/delivery. There is a stage and signs for karaoke. Lots of signs were in Spanish so keep your phone handy or bring your favorite amigo because.... the dishes are huge! We were going to pass the appetizers because well, $17 for queso fundido?? Hell yes! Picture a 10 inch plate of gooey cheese topped chorizo and sprinkled with diced tomatoes and onions and cilantro. I would have paid double. Sorry no pic - it didn't stand a chance! Our dinners were delicious! We all had steak and no one complained of it being dry or overdone - a few little pieces of chewiness but that was it - nothing we couldn't manage. There was plenty of seating at the bar but no one ever sat there. The table space was nice and roomy - a nice outdoor patio area too! I can't wait to go back when summer is in full swing and try out the bar and patio area during a karaoke night (check for a cover charge though - like I said previously, the signs are in Spanish)! Awesome!

This eatery puts a different twist on burgers. My friend got the Cholulita special cemita (burger with Breaded chicken chorizo, ham, chop and egg) and a taco de tripas. He enjoyed his meal. I ordered a traditional torta with carne asada and taco de chile relleno. The food was prepared fresh and the ingredients were good. The service was friendly and the food was delicious. I'll be back to try some other menu items.

The Food was Ok. They can use better salsa As we were there, this place turned into a nightclub apparently, and the gentleman kept saying there would be a band playing. My husband and I waited for the band, and then a gentleman approached us after we had to spend quite a bit of money there and it asked us to pay our entrance of $15 each, but we were already in the facility, which made no sense. That was our sign to leave and not come back again.

Best Mexican food is here in Villa Park! Highly recommended!! Everything was good! Specially their steak tacos. Definitely coming back again

We came here on a whim craving Mexican food. What a pleasant surprise. For two people who are used to Mexican food in the city, this was not a disappointment. I felt at home lol. The food was exceptional. They have karaoke and dancing with great music. I'm so happy I don't have to drive to the city to get great Mexican food. Thank you!

Just had steak quesadillas again. Love these! Had room for the churros. Order all 3 flavors. Our favorite was the caramel.

Worse dinner ever We stop for dinner and got the worse experience One of the cemitas didn't have peppers we told the server She took the food back then send it back with way to many peppers than anything we asked all we wanted was them to do the order right Food didn't have no flavor and it's not the same place like before food quality it's poor and honestly it's not the same place We definitely won't come back to eat here moving forward The server knows how bad it's the food and She say I told the kitchen and they never do anything about it nothing against the lady.

The place smells like chemicals and suspicious as hell inside. Is this a restaurant or a night club? The meat was fatty and flavorless. Disappointing overall food to say the least.

Went there last night, Rosario was a fantastic server, food was great, margaritas were overpriced and unfortunately we were solicited by a man selling wallets and rosaries while eating dinner. Better establishments would not have allowed this to happen.

No stars . Ordered out and twice my orders where cancelled, they returned my money just had to wait for it . Carne Asada burrito and a torts de asada , the other was carne en su Hugo .

Looked good tried it and it was actually good with nice service they also have karaoke on Thursday and Sunday

So my mom and my dad came here to eat and they came here since they opened mostly because my mom is from Puebla Mexico but on 08/13/21 they went and the server told them to choose where they wanted to sit so they did and then proceeded to order after a while of waiting the server then came back and told my parents that they had to move to a table by the restrooms because she needed to sit another couple down where they were sitting and my parents then asked if she can choose another a table because she didn't feel comfortable eating by the restrooms. The server rudely told my mom that NO that they had to be move to that table and when they refused to move to that table they refused service to them. They have never been treated that way before in this establishment.

I called the location directly because I had questions about their menu, woman picked up and half way through my question, she hung up on me. Thought maybe my connection was spotty, but she did it again. I don't know if she did it because she couldn't speak English very well, but regardless she delivered poor customer service. Ended up going with Taqueria Los Comales instead, and glad I did. Their food AND customer service is superior to this place.

This place has amazing Mexican food! Authentic and fresh ingredients. I recommend the tacos asada al carbon with chiles toreados for an extra spicy kick. I'm so happy I finally found a great Mexican joint in my area .

Horrible customer service!! We walked in nobody came to take our order for 10 mins then they finally took our order waited 40 mins and still no food the restaurant was not busy super empty. Asked how much longer they had not started our order so we paid for drinks and canceled our food. Did not bother to apologize or anything they did not care about anything DO NOT EAT HERE

Great restaurant hidden gem. Tacos were pretty delicious for this area. Be prepared the salsas are Very spicy! We got an order of flautas and Cemita torta. The flautas had chicken inside and they were tinga flavored chicken while they were tasty they were still spicy . Friendly staff.

Oh my Lord hands down the best bread chicken Cemitas torta in Chicago . Best torta period. The flavor and love they put in making these is out of this world. I also had the fish tacos that are huge in size and excellent in flavor. This is truly a hidden gem that's about to blow as soon people keep trying it. There hot sauce are unique and delicious. I will return very soon to try the rest of there menu. Villa Parks finest

The food is amazing!! If you happen to be in the area, grab a bite here. Great food and great prices. My only suggestion to the owners would be to change the sign outside. The most visible light up sign outside is for the slots they have inside. I think they would have better street traffic by changing that sign to let everyone know it is a restaurant over a place that just has slots.

After a few drinks, they'll start charging you extra, hoping you won't notice. when i called out the bartender for stealing from me, he pretended it was just an honest oversight, that their register just randomly started charging 2 dollars extra for no apparent reason. an extremely untrustworthy staff and a terrible, unwelcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like a uninvited guest as opposed to a valued customer.

I had the steak quesadilla they were fresh and yummy. I ordered and picked up and paid and they do a great job. I will definitely be back.

One of the cooks comes to our table with a broom and dustpan looking for something under our table but doesn't say anything to us. This couple across from us is telling him something fell from the ceiling, I look down at the floor trying to see if maybe it was a decoration or something but I see a small black mouse running under our table by my feet. No apologies, no nothing. I am terrified of any sort of small animal and I am literally pregnant I couldn't stop shaking. Very disappointed. First and last time coming here.

My new ATF go to Mexican joint. This place is awesome!!! EVERYTHING is excellent here. My go to is 3 tacos. 1 el pastor (best I've ever had) 1 grilled chicken ((just awesome) and 1 el carbon cooked medium rare (absolutely perfect) . The chicken Milanese torta or Cemitas are amazing. All top notch quality ingredients. You can taste the difference. You might spend a couple extra bucks here, but it is so worth it. This place definitely raises the bar for all Mexican restaurants. Shrimp empanadas (WOW) they are great. Everyone I bring here falls in love with the joint. I'm so happy that this place survived the BS lock downs. This place is a hidden gem.

What a pleasant surprise! My daughter had just moved to the area and hadn't found the go to taco joint yet. Well I found it for us and it's not just for tacos! I'm usually just a taco and burrito guy unless the place is geared towards a particular specialty but WOW! My wife had the pozole and I had the birria (beef only, no goat available) which were awesome. My daughter had carne asada tacos which were huge and tender! However, everything was super spicy, I wish one of the salsas were a little bit milder but I gritted my teeth and took it. I also had tacos al pastor and cabeza which were very tasty. To top it all off, the proportions are big. We will going here any time we are in the area.

Went in to have a nice meal but was rudely kicked out, because they we're having a party. Ok, fine but don't be rude about it.. Next time be nicer to people trying to spend money here. Will make sure to let friends and family to avoid this location!!!!

This is my favorite place for tacos. They're food is always really delicious and authentic. Their pastor tacos are amazing. The lengua wasn't my favorite but I've only really ever enjoyed it homemade so i wasn't surprised. It's big enough inside to go and sit down and eat there or you can take out. My whole family is obsessed with these tacos over any others. And their very reasonably priced!

Only been here twice. the first time we were greeted with a friendly smile and good food. this place was not very clean, they need to check under tables! pretty dirty. The second time we were greeted by a very rude and slow server. every time we asked her something she had a rude comment! I did't quite catch her name ,which judging by her attitude she probably never gave us one! She was rude enough for us never to want to visit again!!! BTW we never even got to order!
