Cemitero Poblano

This chile en nogada for $27, including a can of coke. The cook stepped out to hand me my tied plastic bag of food once it was ready. Didn’t think anything of it. Once I opened the plate I realized why. Buying from the community is important, but this is plain crap service and food. Please avoid this place.

It seems like in the past it was a good place to eat, what happened who knows but now It's one of the worst places I've been. They cheated. The price are exaggerated they do not have what they announce on their advertising outside. They advertise birria by the pound. But they don't, they sell you a pound, only plates of birria with rice and beans. They charged me a card fee of 3.75% when I paid cash and on the receipt it even says "efectivo" which mean cash. They try to cheat me out of my change too. I bought 2 picadas, which is a tortilla with hot sauce and cotija cheese a slice of avocado (unaccounted for) for $7.50. I paid $15.00 for 2 tortillas plus $3 for my coffe. I have never seen black corn picadas. This is my first time. I dont like my coffe to strong but this was ridiculous it tasted like water. like when they flushed the coffe maker, no taste of cinnamon or coffee as it was supposed to be Cafe de Olla. So disappointed. There's no price on the menu. I suggest you ask before ordering. I found a piece of something like bone (picadas are meatless) and I don't know if the other is a hair. Just check your recipe. They might charge you for card fee even if you pay cash.

Food was good but service is terrible. Cemitas have become extremely thin. They have become stingy with the ingredients. Good taste but the lack of ingredients is noticeable. Lady who took the order was rude from the start. We ordered 5 items in total. She was visibly annoyed evertime we added an item. La comida esta buena pero la señora que tomo y preparo la orden lo hizo con mala cara. I took the picture halfway though after deciding my experience was so bad i needed to share. Llevo muchos años comiendo aqui. Pero se nota que ya no quieren que regresen los clientes 👍. Pesimo serivicio

Small restaurant. I'm not sure how full it gets but I came at a good time. I ordered a cremita. It was very delicious. They serve you a small bowl of soup as a starter while you wait for your food. A good selection of breakfast plates to choose from. You can buy cremita bread here as well. Call ahead if you're planning on making a big order for bread because they sell out quick. Recommend if you're in the area.

If your place is known for Cemitas, then you assume they should be great. I live near the neighborhood and wanted to give them a try. First and last time ordering. The order was placed to go. I was disappointed if you review my picture the meat looks like a piece of chip. The meat was not fresh I didn't even attempt to bite it. The bread was old. The best thing was the cheese and the avocado, that's what I ended up eating.

The lady who took our order didn’t have a good attitude. She saw us sitting outside waiting for our order and she began placing our food on the table inside. When we told her we will be eating outside, she kept placing the food on the table indoors forcing us to pick up our food and take it outside at the tables instead. Terrible customer service.

Worst tasting baked cookies I have ever bought. Also way over priced. Not recommend to buy their cookies 🍪

Great hole in the wall. Food is excellent, Prices are good. Excellent baked goods. But best for take out because it is quite small, but super clean.

This place is delicious! If you like real authentic poblano Mexican dish . Come here ! Everything is made fresh and super good . You won't be disappointed. Prices are fair and service is spectacular! The place is small and limited parking, but that is Not a problem for me when food, service and prices are to die for . I had a camita with milanesa and chiles chipotles , a Taco grande witch is a full plate and a memela bandera (two sauces )

so yummy! service was great! you order at the register and then sit down to wait for your order, i didn't expect to receive a free item but it was a delicious way to start my meal!

La comida es de calidad medianamente buena, los precios son normales, el servicio es fatal, señora que a tienede, si ya no tiene nada mejor cierre la puerta y vayase a casa los clientes no tenemos la culpa de su mal humor, no se si ssea la dueña pero ojala y quiebre y si es empleada ojla y la corran, el lugar tiene un B, y las mesas estan muy sucias, pero lo son los pinche modos de laviejas hediondas.

Came here for my birthday with my in laws and it was way better than I expected ! It's a family of women running the restaurant. I love family restaurants and this was a great place to come for lunch. They enjoy it here and they wanted me to try their food from Puebla Mexico. They make all their bread and tortillas fresh in the restaurant. Their quesadillas are huge! It's made with black corn and they don't skimp on the cheese. I got the flor de calabaza which is zucchini blossoms. They ran out of the mushroom one I wanted to try, but this was just as good. Nothing was too salty but definitely flavorful. I also got the cemita de milanesa and they did not skimp out on the avocado inside the sandwich. My goodness. It's a hole in a wall kind of restaurant but their food is very good. They only have a few tables in there so I hope you're lucky to get one. Definitely give this a try if you're in the area! I'd come back.

Best cookies in downtown LA, I've never had the food tho or been here in my life. My uncle just brings us the cookies.

Service is horrible!!!! Stay away!!! Workers there have terrible customer service. Just walked out of there and found a great spot only 3 min away. Cemitas Poblanas, please try them instead! Amazing food and incredible customer service. Food is more delicious than this terrible place. If I could rate this place 0 stars I would. DONT COME HERE!!!!!

I tried calling this place 3 times to place an order but no answers. I don't get why they say they're open but no answer.

If I could put no stars I would. Food was awful. We found a hair in our plate the herbs where gone bad. Service was irritating they weren't at all friendly when told about these issues. Never coming back they couldn't even get the order right. EDIT: Juan Carlos, to your reply, I never once yelled at your employees I told them they didn't get the order right and she seemed irritated to hear that and it's sad as the owner not even you know what customer service is. You guys can't even accept the many errors you guys have had with us. we've been customers for over several years and it's the same all the time. There is a reason why you guys have so many bad reviews it's clear this is a terrible business ran by someone who clearly instead of fixing things is applauding the mistakes and rudeness of his employees. There is no reason your employees should be texting me I was there for quiet a while after they could have spoken to me there have a great day and hope you turn your business around it was great place to eat before.

I had a very good meal, my tacos were tasty I truly appreciate that thy took time to make sure my food was to me liking. I will definitely try it again and explore the menu a little more.

The wait was a bit long BUT the food is delicious. The mole has a great flavor it's not bitter or too sweet it's perfect. The cemita is packed ! I really enjoyed it. I like that they have purple tortillas .

Good authentic Mexican food. Food is fresh. Enjoy in ELA. You can park in the street if you can't find parking.

Acabo de ir y los precios es algo exagerados y me pedí unas cemitas de pollo la carne estuvo bien seca recalentado el pollo, pague $100 dólares por 2 cemitas y 3 quesadillas

Very simple East LA restaurant. Food was good and made to order. The bread used for the cemitas was perfect! Not too hard or too soft. Was surprised by the vast variety in their menu... with lots to choose from. Cash only. ATM on site.

Great cemitas and they have outdoor seating. Great dining experience during covid. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious and was ready very quickly. I highly recommend!

First time trying this place because we wanted a good cemita. And ended with the worst cemitas we ever had. Ordered a "Milanesa De Res" and the meat had no flavor the bread was hard as a rock and tasted like it was from days ago. Also asked for some picaditas and they gave us something completely different. Save your money go somewhere else their food has no flavor!

Out of towner trying to find something new. Found this place that sells Cemitas. Similar to a torta. I ordered a beef protein. Service was quick . Small cafe . Serious Gem.

Horrible service. The guy at the register didn't greet us and rudely asked what we wanted to order. He gave sarcastic remarks when asking about the menu. Gave me the incorrect change and chuckled when I corrected him. While waiting for our food, other customers were unsatisfied with the service as well. The employees would laugh at their complaints. Employees wouldn't listened to customers orders and didn't care if they gave the incorrect food items. Never coming back.

Best cemitas in town! Came here on a monday night and the staff were really friendly!!! Love this place! Been here bunch of times and never get tired of it! Love it!

Super authentic and delicious "Cemitas" This place is a must try if you're around the area .

First time here; long wait and bad service. There was no greeting and the lady who took the order was really rude and dismissive. I almost cancelled my order and left. There's too many other places in LA that sell authentic cemitas where customer service isn't an issue to be returning to this place. Also the cemita itself wasn't very good, the bread was hard and the meat overcooked.

It's a very delicious traditional Mexican authentic place to eat. It is a hole in the wall, but well worth the wait. It's cash only, but they do have an ATM inside. I recommend their cemitas, they're the best in this place, but the rest of their menu is delicious as well.

I got enchiladas and they where not the best I probably might give this place another try bc the other items look good but stay away from the enchiladas they have no chicken or cheese tastes like tortillas with salsa

My dad has been buying cemitas from here for years! He was born and raised in Puebla, so if there's anything he knows, it's good cemitas. They are legit!

They have the best house made bread. Cemita bread. Portions are big, so order small and gradually work your way up. It's a little on the pricy side but worth it.

The wait was too long, food was cold, really bad service. Not coming back. The waiters have no people skills whatsoever.

For a small place it was good. The bread that they themselves bake is awesome. This is a CASH only place so come prepared. Prices are not diplayed, but im guessing each item is $7-8. Quesadillas are huge.

The food is delicious! Sadly their customer service is poor. They took forever to take our orders and have our food ready. The cook and cashier were very serious and very disorganized. But food again, delicious! Cash only!

Don't get me wrong the food is delicious but they need to improve their service . . they're rude they never smile and they don't greet you . . Oh and they never take ur order right I started asking them to repeat my order. But other than that I recommend this place

I am a sucker for cemitas. This place was alright; not too bad but not amazing. the place looks a little shady but that's because they have a bakery as well. So the bread is always fresh. I had the Cemita de Milanesa and my mom had the quesadilla. Let me warn you; tortillas are hand made so don't expect a small quesadilla! Parking was not an issue. This place is located inside a little plaza so the parking is in the plaza. But you can always park in the street

food is delicious !! Everything is made from scratch and tortillas are made by hands - The chicken mole is great and the plate portion are huge- the down side is that is a very very small place

This place is sooooo delicious! The greatest cemitas in east LA. Customer service is okay, not great yet acceptable. The food is very fresh & yummy. I love it here. It's a very small restaurant, but during the weekday it's not that busy... yet there is not a lot parking spaces as there's other businesses there. So if you go during the weekend it will be packed and the wait can be long, but well worth it!

Cemitas are freakin delicious! Bread is freshly baked and meats are perfectly tender. Also grabbed a quesadilla and it was HUGE!!!!! Everything is homemade! Perfect hole in the wall spot in Boyle Heights!

I got the cemita asada with avocado, etc and horchata, and both were so good. The bread is made right in the store, and it makes for super fresh tasting cemitas. These sandwiches are FILLING, but in the best way. I think the horchata might have been handmade too - way better than the usual powdered stuff. For anyone who works Downtown, this would be a good soot to check out for a quick lunch since it has easy parking. There's another place nearby that has a really similar name, just look for the one in the strip mall, not the freestanding one. I'll definitely come back sometime.
