Phenomenal meal, absolutely delicious! Food was fresh, light, and brought me back to flavors I haven’t tasted in the Bay Area in some time. The michelada negra was perfect complement to the tacos dorados (chicken, queso, picadillo, papas) and chicken tostada (I almost got a second one it was that good). Everyone was friendly and kind but to be honest service needs a bit of work. I believe it was the second day opened so definitely expect service to smooth out. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to be back next weekend to try the rest of the menu (pozole looked fire).

I decided to try this new restaurant out after hearing about it on social media. They started in the owner's backyard during the peak of COVID, and now they have their own brick-and-mortar restaurant in Oakland! The tostadas raspadas are shipped directly from Mexico! Of course, I had to try one. I elected for the Tostada Raspada Sensilla, and I also tried a Rajas Sope (not pictured). Both were delicious. I should have asked for cheese on my raspada, but I was able to add some Mexican sour cream, along with the pickled onions and radishes provided at every table. My partner got the raspada with chicken and loved it. We went on a Friday evening, and there was no wait. The service was friendly, attentive, and the restaurant was clean. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area again.

came opening night and it was really nice seeing all the support they got. service was slow. we waited a while to get our order in, and then waited so much longer to get our food. we ordered the carne pozole and carne original tostada. both were really salty, but otherwise good. the tostada itself was kind of oily too. we were seated outside. i hope they heaters soon.

Went to their new place on 3rd for their soft opening - WOW!! The food was incredible - we kept ordering more. We had the tostada raspada and the torta ahogada and ended up ordering a bonus sope and chicken enchilada. All really flavorful and the tostadas are so crisp. Don't miss this place!!

So glad we read about this spot! The tostada raspada was excellent, as was the pozole and the potato taco. I’ll be going back. Note: their sauces are hot vs hotter so don’t refuse the sour cream. 🌶️

Food was super delicious, we played it a little safe on the meat choices but the portions and flavors were great. Our servers were so kind and personable, especially for a new restaurant that is surely busy all the time. Great with a group!

The food is unbelievably good. The tostada which is normally the supporting role to a dish is the main character. The cheese tacos dorados were out of this world. I think this might be the best Mexican food I've had in Oakland if not the entire Bay. Also the story behind it is incredible as well.

Get a tostada and pozole. You're welcome the pozole had such a depth of flavor. It was all delicious!

Tacos dorado are exceptional. Highly recommend. Parking is a bit difficult but other than that everything is great. Friendly staff and delicious food.

Great restaurant run by the nicest people. Excellent tacos dorados, really light and crispy. Both the chicken and the rajas con papas fillings were great. The pozole was also really good, light flavorful broth, tender pozole. Their signature tostada raspada was also quite good.

The food is good. Honestly it's missing the kick I want. I loved the tostada raspada. Everything else is good. The sopes are a bit hard, should be a little more thicker and less time in the fryer (in my opinion). Customer service is really good, so friendly and welcoming.
