New Coffee Truck Cenizo Opens in Austin | Eater Austin

"A new coffee truck in southeast Austin opened for daily service beginning May 6 and operates 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.; it sits on a large plot with an outdoor gathering area, games, and a custom-built tree house. The menu focuses on quality coffee and local partnerships, offering classic espresso drinks like Americanos, lattes, and cappuccinos alongside coffee, tea, Italian sodas, and pastries such as croissants, cookies, scones, and cinnamon rolls. The owners highlight Mexican-inspired beverages that reflect co-owner Nancy Aguirre’s heritage, including an iced horchata latte and a cafe de olla—an espresso-based drink made with spiced syrup and milk. Drinks are served in compostable packaging, the truck uses a reverse-osmosis water filtration system, and espresso beans come from Talisman Coffee, an Austin-based, family-run operation sourcing beans from a farm in Matagalpa, Nicaragua and roasting stateside. Branding was created by Austin designer Meg Burk, and the company’s name is inspired by the cenizo plant (Texas sage); this is the owners’ first hospitality venture." - H. Drew Blackburn

Cenizo was delicious! I had an iced berry matcha and an almond croissant. Both were well balanced not too sweet, just right. The customer service was also great, they were kind and very helpful. Definitely recommend!!

Tasty and pricey lattes with beautiful bakery treats. Awesome neighborhood coffee!

Critical coffee spot in a neighborhood without many options. I love the food truck park and appreciate all the vendors. I do have one point of feedback… The small latte comes with a single shot of espresso and is way too light to the point where you are mostly drinking milk. My experience is that most coffee shops do a double shot or add less milk. Please use Pantone 15-1040 TCX Iced Coffee for color reference 🫱🏾‍🫲🏽 should be there or even darker. That’s the end of my unhinged review.

Our family comes here almost every day. The community of Easton Park is lucky to have it in our hood. The drinks are strong and a wide variety of choices. The matcha is fire too!

Delicious coffee, great pastries. The owner is friendly and passionate. Their mixed coffee drinks are amazing without tasting artificial because he makes a lot of the syrups in houses. He lets the coffee flavor shine through. The horchata is nicely balanced and not too sweet which I appreciate. 5/5.

The coffees weren’t as flavorful as we had hoped. I’ve had much better elsewhere, and both my husband and I had to ask for more flavor pumps. I ordered the seasonal horchata latte, which was bland, and my husband tried the café de olla latte which was average. Not worth the long lines in my opinion, but the service was good. That said, the location and ambiance are true to the "Keep Austin Weird" vibe, with a variety of food trucks in the park and a good amount of parking available. They also have live music, which was a nice touch. Overall, I think there are better coffee spots in Austin.

We usually make espresso at home, so we’re not regulars anywhere—but every time we stop by the Cenizo truck, it’s a great experience. The coffee is always spot on, and Harrison and Nancy are awesome. You can tell they really care about the community and put a lot of heart into what they do. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
