Such a delicious breakfast (for lunch). Megan was an excellent server and so helpful. Small local place that has great prices and does a ton of business. Great looking lunch plates coming out from the kitchen loaded with pot roast or spaghetti. I wish this place was in Jackson! Yum! 😋 #foodielife #supportlocal

When you are first time somewhere and then you just google it where to have breakfast that’s how I found Centennial Cafe.Outside and inside nothing special atmosphere was great peoples was talking with each others which give me the feeling like home. Service was good friendly,helpful,polite and informative they definitely knew their menu and food they are serving. Honestly by the reviews on the Google, I expect at least four star food and I made mistake food was 5 star really tasty, good ,homemade biscuits with gravy which was so yummy western omelette just delicious. Centennial Cafe is not big place is pretty small but service is fast and people in kitchen are quick. My honest recommendation.

Exceptional flavor and quality food. The fried chicken is nothing short of perfect, every time. I've had their lunches only, not breakfast. I hear that it is as good as the lunch. Also, the prices are very respectable! UPDATE!!! The Southern Fried Chicken is still the best in Nashville!

As someone that's born N' raised in the nations , I'm sad that today was my first day there ...Because it' was the best southern food I've had on this side of town . Beating the most popular Meat N' Three by a mile . Our server Kristi was awesome and it just felt like a good ol southern Diner style with amazing food .

Walking through the door here is like going back in time, in the best way possible. Inside you feel like you've been transported to a small-town diner that has been around forever. The service is warm and friendly, and also attentive. The prices also feel like they are from the past. Everything on the menu is incredibly affordable. I did a double-take when I saw the prices! Any other place would easily be charging double, if not more. The interior is classic small-town diner. No frills. Just basic. But comfortable and welcoming. The food was good. I had the Sausage & Egg Sandwich with Cheese, and it was very good. Based on the other reviews I definitely want to try some of the other menu options. I guess the moral here is don't judge a book by its cover. The outside looks like nothing much at all. The inside looks a bit basic and dated. But the experience is a breath of fresh air. It reminded me of stopping in for breakfast at a local diner in a tiny town in the midwest during road trips. Authentic, reasonable, attentive service, good food. Basically just everything you need. Check it out!

One of the best meat and threes in Nashville. This is a small diner with no fluff and no alcohol. It's perfect for breakfast or lunch. We came for lunch on a Monday and both of us got the meatloaf. It was super tasty, moist, and delicious. Way too much for lunch, but I ate it all anyways! The cole slaw, mashed potatoes, beans, onion rings, and breads were all homemade. Staff are very friendly and prices are super reasonable. We will definitely be back!

The food was good, came out fast, and the service was great - friendly and quick with the refills. As others noted, this place has a "back in time" vibe that you wouldn't expect from the outside. The regulars greeted each other warmly and welcomed us newbies with a nod of their heads. Why 4 out 5 stars? They don't have real butter and real pancake syrup. Margarine and high fructose corn syrup seem out of place, given old style sugar dispensers, and detract from the quality food offerings. Regardless, I'd still come back.

It's a very unique diner filled with locals, prices are good, food isn't anything special but it's tasty and the portions are more than you'd expect, you definitely won't leave hungry. I do recommend it! Once you enter you'll notice the floor tilts to the back of the building, we found this just adds to the quaintness of the diner, lol. Waitresses are kind and helpful, you'll enjoy your meal here. We'll be going back for sure

A solid meat-and-three diner where the locals eat. A LOT of locals. A place where the waiters know the regulars and bring drinks to the table before they get settled good, and where the locals know what's available that's not on the menu. And where strangers are welcome and treated like a local. The fried chicken was really good (moist and tender) and really crispy. The potato salad was a bit sweet for me, but still good. Coleslaw was also good - dressed with a mayo based dressing. Judging from the full parking lot and packed tables of locals - this is definitely a solid choice for a good old fashioned, home-style meal. Nothing fancy, just good food (and big portions)

Gotta love a small town diner, even when you live in a city. The Centennial Cafe fits that small town feel (another great option is Country Cafe in Fairview, but a much longer drive). The place itself is no frills. It is a non-descript cinder block building with a canvas sign nailed into the blocks on the side. You can easily miss it, although the Google maps directions are correct. As a reference point, it is just to the west of Daddy Dog's (right behind their fence). Why such a high ranking for a diner? It is a combination of experience, which is pretty much what you expect from a small town diner, and the value. Let's roll with this. I had the Denver Omelet. It is a mix of ham, onions, and peppers with cheese inside a three egg omelet. Unlike the hotel omelet chef, the toppings are all slapped on top after the omelet is flipped and cheesed up just to the point the cheese melts. You also have choice of toast, but the kicker here - drum roll please - is you can choose biscuits and gravy instead of toast. And, for a bit over $7. Yes, you read that correctly. Including coffee, my entire meal was about $10. How was the food. The omelet is fairly standard, but lots of toppings (I made it into two meals). The biscuits and gravy are also fairly standard sausage gravy covered goodness on top of scratch made biscuits. But getting all of this for around $10? Priceless. I have now been to the Centennial Cafe twice and will likely go back. I would recommend more for breakfast than lunch, as it is the better of the two, but even the meat & three options are a great value compared to most of Nashville (welcome to the 90s?). Will definitely return again when I have the chance.

We enjoyed this down home diner - especially after getting all the tourist spots the day before. It was good to eat real food with good people. My husband and our friends had cooked to order breakfasts while I opted for the catfish after seeing on another table. While they enjoyed their food, I felt like i won the food lottery. Everyone was nice and we will return on our next visit.

This is my favorite breakfast place in all of Nashville for some good home cooked vibes. Their lunch is also very good! It is easy to walk to if you live anywhere in the Nations. A pretty busy place with a diner vibe, I mostly do takeout from there now. There is no bike rack but when I pick up I leave my bike on side of building and never have an issue. If your looking for a fancy brunch experience in Nash look somewhere else. If you are looking for good food and chill vibes this is your spot.

Food is awesome and staff is even better! Breakfast or Lunch, so delicious. You have to stoop by and eat here. You won't be disappointed.

Food is always good. Service is awesome! I normally call a order in and pick up because it's always a big order. I love their ham and cheese omelettes for breakfast. Cheeseburgers and tots or a grilled chicken salad for lunch. Everyone at my work loves this place! Parking lot is very small and the back lot (which I don't think the restaurant owns) is very rough. Be care!

Got up way too early for an appointment and ended up here based on, what else, yelp reviews. Nothing fancy here; just good old fashioned honest neighborhood diner. Good tasty food and efficient service with a smile. My order came out within 5 minutes. And the prices can't be beat. Even though they start at 0700, the place was nearly packed inside by 0730 (the small parking area was beyond full of work trucks) with the phone orders keeping the staff busy. Most customers seemed to be local workers.

Country fried Steak and biscuits are delicious. Megan and staff are amazing .PARKING SUCKS. Other than that great place.

Finally, I find a place that isn't worried about being Instagram-worthy in Nashville!! I LOVE this place and its character. It's honestly the first place I've been to in Nashville (and I've been here for six years now) that has the same feeling as a cutesy diner in The Strip District in Pittsburgh (where I'm from originally). From the minute we walked in, we were welcomed. We took a seat underneath the vent and ended up moving because it was so chilly! So, unless you want to shiver during your entire meal, avoid that table hahah. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak breakfast, and it did not disappoint! Sometimes, you gotta eat the best hangover food even when you're not hungover, and this rainy day was the perfect time to do so. You can't walk in here expecting fancy eggs benedict, which I appreciate so much because you can feel how hard everyone works in this place to enjoy the food even more! The prices -- for Nashville -- are insanely amazingly cheap. For two people, our bill was about $15. That's normally what I spend on one drink at a rooftop bar LOL. I will definitely be back!

Enough on the meat & 2 at lunch for two meals. They also make homemade onion rings! Extremely clean and good staff!

No flairs, just good food! Small, modest restaurant that we luckily stumbled upon while visiting Nashville. Service was friendly and efficient, food was delicious, and the prices were beyond reasonable. They were also able to accommodate our party of 12 Immediately, and they handled it like pros! Highly recommend!!

Unpretentious, home cooking served with a smile and courtesy. Breakfast and lunch. Traditional "meat and three" lunch specials. Responsive to special requests. I like my eggs scrambled very soft, and that's how they bring them! Nothing fancy, nothing highly spiced or unusual. This is not a place for culinary adventures but a good place for comfort.

Breakfast is my favorite meal, so when I arrived in West Nashville a couple hours early for a morning appointment, I went looking for a place to get a cup of coffee and a bite to eat. Google turned up Centennial Cafe at the top of the list, so I drove over (less than 10 min from John Tune Airport) -- and I'm glad I did! Super friendly staff, lightning fast service, and truly excellent food! Recommended wholeheartedly!

Possibly the last truly affordable breakfast restaurant in Nashville. Very reasonably priced for the quality of food you get. The food is good, but not great. Overall a positive experience and worth the affordable cost.

Wow!! I stopped in here because it's near my worksite for the week. Super friendly and fast service. Classic breakfast foods at fair prices. The biscuits alone would be worth a drive, and the lightly seasoned gravy is excellent. I visited late morning on a weekday and the two owners / chefs were serving up timely eats to a nearly-full dining room of 25. Recommend you stop in!

Stopped in for lunch. Bacon cheeseburger was great. My husband and mother had catfish and they loved it. The onion rings were the best. Great service.

We loved this place! My husband and I were on vacation this week in Nashville and needed a good breakfast before exploring the town. This was the closest place so we gave it a shot. Ended up going back the next two mornings making it 3 days in a row! The staff is very friendly and the food is fantastic! Where else can you get 2 perfect eggs over easy, 2 pieces of bacon, 2 hash brown triangles AND two biscuits with gravy for $6.99? One morning I tried the pancakes and they were huge and so fluffy. One morning we had a late start, 10:45, so my husband went for a double cheeseburger and it was huge and perfectly cooked. It gets busy in waves but we were able to get in and out in less than 30 minutes each day. We witnessed many takeout orders if you call ahead or take it with you. What a find!

Was in West Nashville, thought I would try something local and new. Found the Centennial Cafe on Yelp, and am so glad I did! The menu isn't extensive, but what they had was so, so good. The biscuits were smack-your-mama delicious, the gravy I was licking out of the bowl, the hash brown casserole put the one at that chain restaurant to shame, and the bacon? Meaty and perfectly crisp. But what made this place so cool were the servers. Two young ladies who knew how to work a room better than any lounge act. These ladies were fast, efficient, and so friendly. You could tell the regulars treasured them. Very much looking forward to going back and trying their spaghetti and other weekly specials.

I stopped by one morning to enjoy a little breakfast. This is nice meat & three type place. It reminds me of a cafeteria. Service was nice and quick and food was good as well. They serve grits too, of course. I had some eggs over medium and some sausage (patties) and my friend had the 1/2 country ham (which was plenty!) I will definitely be back to try lunch!

Great food, fabulous staff. Very busy and lots of takeout orders. They just danced around each other delivering food, busing tables, and filling coffee cups as well as cashiering and delivering takeout. Definitely coming back. Can't wait to bring my husband.

I only got to-go from here bc a coworker was picking up food for us so I don't really have any comments on service or atmosphere. I am a sucker for anything corned beef or Reuben style so when I saw they had that with an egg, I jumped on that! It surely did not disappoint. I'm pretty sure I licked and picked everything off my aluminum foil wrapper. It was so tender and flavorful and the egg was a great addition. The price of it wasn't bad either, pretty sure it was less than $5. Definitely need to go back and sit to try more.

Soooo yummy! I had the catfish, cole slaw and green beans. My husband and son had breakfast and my daughter a cheeseburger and fries. Everyone loved all of it and Megan is the sweetest server! Loved it and will be back.

I have had the privilege of visiting the original location of this fine establishment in Germantown known as 3rd Avenue Kitchen. I was heartbroken when they closed their doors. After moving to the nations in August I was thrilled to find out that the great people that own, manage, and operate this establishment were coming to this side of town to resurrect this fantastic diner, I was elated. Here is what to expect when you come to the Centennial Cafe. You can expect friendly service from a staff that will remember what you have to drink before you sit down. Made to order food that soothes the soul and sets you up for your day like no other. The breakfast options are and filling and leave you wanting more. It's not fancy. It's not posh. It is great food at a great price from people that you will come to know and love. What more do you want in a neighborhood diner

This place is awesome! The portions are so good and the food is yummy! I recommend this place to anyone who is not in the mood for a bougie brunch where you spend at least $50 and wait tons of hours. Alysha was our waitress and she was so friendly and efficient all while working the entire floor as cashier, waitress, and bar tender. I am definitely going back. Love that is is in my neighborhood!

In a city full of new, shiny, creative, fancy restaurants and brunch eateries this is none of those. It's is classic, down to earth, affordable southern cooking. The service is friendly, the place is clean, and the food is delicious. It is unassuming on the outside, but don't be fooled. You'll leave full and happy and without your wallet lightened too much.

I really wanted to like this place but the reality is it's a mediocre cafe. Coffee was luke warm and weak. I had a western omelet and hash brown casserole. The omelet was good but the casserole was also barely warm. Biscuits were bland. Gravy was decent. My husband's ham was overcooked. But the waitresses are nice and service was excellent.

Found another gem. An alternative to downtown Hermitage Cafe if you do not want the traffic. Great homestyle food with neighborhood atmosphere. Customers know each other and a blue collar hangout. Good portions and excellent personal service. Will be back often as it closer to home. Definitely a hole in the wall find.
