Ahhhh-mazing lowkey chill vibe. I usually go to Haraz on central ave but today they were busy and the music was loud. Luckily just litera around the corner I found this gem aka “my new spot.” They have music playing low in the background which is a necessity, expresso + more, and plenty of nice seating. There are two friendly ladies serving the cup of joe and pleasantries. I asked for permission to record and post and here we are. I asked for a shot of expresso, but I like it sweet, can we do almond milk on the side? The expresso with VANILLA and side of almond milk are pictured below… Now to get off google and study hahaha #stayblessed

Decided to try this coffee shop out after a recommendation from a friend. It's located right down the street from my job. Came around 9 am. on a Wednesday, and it was not busy. Parking is very small with about 5 spaces to choose from. I ordered a Hazelnut iced latte with a double espresso shot. It was definitely strong, but I wish it had more flavor. Either way, it was very tasty, and I loved it. I ordered their spinach and Swiss quiche, which was DELICIOUS! & Only for $5, YES, PLEASE! I will definitely be coming back to try out other coffees and pastries. I recommend this little mom and pop coffee shop.

I’ve been staying In Elizabeth this summer for my job and this place has been a highlight for me. I look forward to visiting most mornings and walking around the gorgeous neighborhood it’s nestled in. Great neighborhood coffee shop. Also the chocolate chip cookies are excellent.

Google
I just love this place. I grab coffee here frequently and it's awesome! It's locally owned, and their coffee is incredible. The prices are very reasonable and I'd say lower than most coffee shops. The staff are extremely friendly, welcoming and polite. The coffee and food are fantastic. I've had their pastries, bagels and more have all been delicious. The coffee shop is cool, just simplistic and stylish. There are plenty of tables for working or just hanging out, a side room that provides some quite space, and a couple lounge chairs. There is not outside seating. There is metered parking on the street with plenty of spots available. Always worth a visit!

ordered - oat milk latte - koulouraki cookies - spinach/swiss quiche super friendly service, yummy food and coffee, a nice spot with artsy interior

Probably the coffee house I frequent most for all of the above. Everyone is so nice and their breakfast sandwiches and coffee are so good!

I’m so sad to be writing this review because I consider central one of my favorite coffee shops in Charlotte. Unfortunately, the last 3 times I have ordered online my drink is always missing espresso in my dirty chai. I’m not sure what’s going on with the inconsistency in the way drinks are made or the consistent lack of detail? In the future I will make sure to order in person or get the espresso separately from your drink.

Google
Love the coffee, but the customer service needs an overhaul! The last few times I've visited, I barely got a thank you. Yesterday (3/8), the barista just slammed the drink in front of me, and when I said thank you, he barely let out a grunt. Another time, my drink wasn't how I wanted it, they did remake it, however they were not happy about it. Again, my drink was slammed on the counter and not one courteous word was spoken back to me. I truly think Central Coffee has some of the best coffee/espresso drinks in Charlotte. But, not sure if its worth me visiting as often with the treatment I've received lately. Its quite uncomfortable. Staff definitely could be friendlier and more courteous.

Yelp
Scone was really really delicious, excellent food , great ambiance, nice friendly staff, great vibe, good location, coffee was below average for my taste. Medium roast. Come check them out and try it !

Yelp
Want coffee or tea plus a few choices of munchies- this might be worth a try! We recently invested in a Breville Espresso Machine so we on our way to being coffee snobs! So we decided to stop at a few coffee roasting shops for coffee beans. We bought a bag of their dark roast and we liked it. What surprised us is how little the staff knew about coffee. lol They were not sure if certain terms roasting dates notes of the bean etc. So that was a little disappointing.

Yelp
This is an awesome small coffee shop with city vibe. This Central Coffee shop offers quite a few options of hot and cold brews as well as delicious and fresh pastries. My wife and I stopped by for some pastries and lattes, and everything was delicious. The service is awesome and this particular shop is CENTRALLY located with its own free parking lot. See what I did there? LOL The only issue we noticed is that there was a bit of a gas-like smell inside, which was a bit bothersome. Other than that, we had a great experience.

Yelp
The Aesthetic: This spot feels very homey and cozy, just how you want a neighborhood coffee shop to feel. It has a DIY, artsy look and attracts that creative crowd. The Price: It is the average cost of coffee, tea, and pastries in CLT, not overly expensive and it won't break the bank. The Value: I feel like I get good quality food and drinks for the price, you get what you pay for here, and the drinks are absolutely delicious. The Parking: It's a little sparse if it's busy, you may need to plan to park nearby. The lot is small and can get crowded quickly. My Order: My order is the iced matcha latte with oat milk, it's one of the best I've had in the city. They also have yummy breakfast sammies. The Conclusion: It's on my route, so I'll frequent this cafe. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for great coffee and friendly service!

Yelp
Came in here with a friend this morning and enjoyed every bit of this small, eclectic cafe. They have a variety of breakfast items, including vegan zucchini bread and quiche. The customer service was great. Everyone is so friendly and they ensure to get your food and drink out quickly. I enjoyed the ham and pepper quiche with an iced latte with brown sugar cinnamon and caramel. I'm so glad we tried this cafe today. It's in a great area and the coffee was delicious!

Yelp
Early afternoon and my wife would like a coffee, so we wandered to the Central Coffee Company. I huge selection of caffeinated and non-caffeinated options plus pastries and bagels. I stood in the queue which moved quickly enough and ordered the latte. It was prepared and called out a few minutes later. Very firm foam as you can see in the picture. Delicious rich coffee, but perhaps too much (chicory?) for my taste. Comfy spot with lots of places to sit and power away with the laptop. And a nice urn of ice water ready to go. Yelp
first time at a coffee shop in my life and let me tell you the vibes drinks snacks everything is A plus I highly recommend great customer appreciation

Yelp
The staff are very friendly and accommodating here. It is a calming and small cafe that you can get work done or catch up with a friend. I haven't tried the food, but definitely want to try the next time I come and dine in. I got the 16 oz latte with 1 pump of lavender vanilla and 1 pump of white chocolate syrup, a tasty combination for those who have a sweet tooth.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute little neighborhood coffee spot for good coffee, quick breakfast and pastries. The cinnamon sugar latte was very good, not too sweet and smooth. I ordered the mushroom and swiss quiche for my daughter and she said it was very good. The cafe has a very relaxing and inviting vibe . Great neighborhood place .

Yelp
Okay but why does central coffee have the best quiche? I walked in here on a random Wednesday, never been before, and had the best quiche of my life. They didn't have any breakfast sandwiches so I went on a whim and got the spinach quiche and WOW! I only have to imagine their other food is great too. My dirty chai was good but the quiche is really what got my attention!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice environment and quiet. Good place for meeting or chatting. Staff and service was friendly. Coffee was just ok.

Yelp
Good service, coffee and pastry. I used to come here more often when I lived in Charlotte. I try to visit when I'm in town.

Yelp
First they only allow one person at a time into coffee shop!! If there would have been a line I would have not bothered. I ordered chai latte with unsweetened almond milk. It was very good!! I wanted a scone but the were out so I decided to try vegan zucchini bread. It was very tasty a little on the dry side. Would be nice to revisit after this CV Craziness. Also they do not take cash!!!

Yelp
I stopped by here earlier yesterday morning with my wife for our morning coffee. We decided to head to Central Coffee Company because we were hitting up all of the highly rated coffee shops near where we were staying for the week. Getting to Central Coffee was sort of a pain as were were driving down Central Ave and there was a no left turn sign to get onto Louise and so we ended up making a huge loop. Once we did arrive we easily found the last parking spot available in the lot and headed in. The inside of this place was cozy and they had two workers working with a chalkboard menu behind them. For my coffee on this day I decided to go with a 20 oz latte while my wife went with a drip coffee. Not only was the drip coffee some of the most reasonably priced that I had seen in the area, my wife also got the choice between a regular roast and a dark roast for which she chose dark. After only a short wait we had our drinks and were on our way home. Once my drink had cooled enough I was able to start drinking it. The whole milk in it was nice and the coffee was rich and strong enough that it easily cut through the milk. My wife also enjoyed the dark and rich flavor of her coffee. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both my wife and I enjoyed our coffees here, so why not?

Yelp
Cool little coffee shop. Nice ambiance for work, multiple tables and some larger ones for bigger groups. Their lattes are on the stronger side, and also ordered a normal drip coffee which had a nice light roast. Also ordered a blueberry scone, very solid. Would recommend giving this place a try!

Yelp
So this place immediately gets 5 stars for being one of the very few coffee shops open before 7am. As a teacher who has to be at school at 7 this place makes it so easy to get a caffeine fix on my way in. Their coffee drinks are always excellent. The pumpkin chai in the fall was incredible. I usually grab a pastry too and all have been good. I like that they carry Crust Punk Bagels. I usually order with the Odeko app and it's a nice, easy pick up!

Yelp
I know this is a coffee shop, but I'm just not a big coffee drinker. This is located right off of Central and it's pretty easy to get to even though the traffic in the area at certain times get's crazy. In addition to coffee they offer many in-house baked goods, like muffins, pound cake, scones, quiche, pie, etc. The baked goods are really good, my favorites are the glorious morning muffins, vegan zucchini bread, and the pound cake which are all amazing and I just love stopping in for a treat as the staff here are always super cool. This is also a popular spot for just hanging out.

Yelp
Central coffee is great. We've been coming here regularly for a long time and it's simply the best coffee around. We went to their Camden location the most due to proximity, but they're closing it down due to land lord rental increases of 40%... can't really blame them. Their food is also really good, specifically their Ham & Pepper Quiche (see pictures below). They have very friendly staff with a nice rewards program as well. Parking can definitely be a pain, but it's located right on Camden so it's not a huge shocker. There's always places to sit, so it's great for a work meeting/coffee, as they even have a separate room with doors that close. Overall, great local coffee spot.
google avatar

Nancy M.

Yelp
I am giving Central Coffee 5 stars for being able to move orders through quickly. I have never stood there long for a coffee, unlike my local coffee shop. And the coffee is good.

Yelp
Best coffee shop in Charlotte! Not only is the coffee great but we walk our dogs here to get them pup cups and they love it too.

Yelp
Just called to speak to a Manager in regards to my order that my husband picked up. We live in Harrisburg and we pick up from the location on Louise Ave. we ordered 3 quiche & 2 large chais and 1 small. A guy named Gavin answered the phone and I asked for a manager & he said that there isn't a manager on today I asked when they would be on he said Wednesday. I informed him of the issue of the 2 large chais being almost half way filled and he said that they were really busy and hung up on me. I'm sorry but that isn't a way to treat customers regardless of how busy u are.
google avatar

Rox S.

Yelp
This place is the best, hands down. It's even better that it's in my neighborhood. But I loved it before that. Cool little spot, with its own private little parking lot right in Plaza Midwood. Good vibes, friendly employees. Good coffee! What more could you ask for? They have the best dirty chai latte. They make homemade breads and pastries. And I think house made syrups? But maybe I'm making that up. They also do 10% off bagged beans on Wednesday if that's yo thing. If you haven't been here, you're missing out.

Yelp
Always passed by this place for years and today I decided to visit! Nothing special....The young ladies serving where more concerned about their smart phones than anything else. Got a dark roast coffee and dumped it out a half a block down the street. Nothing more than Bojangles swill!? Not trying to bad mouth any local business but, at least make a customer feel welcomed?! If I get the urge to walk back in, I will certainly do that! Until then, I am sticking to my Keurig!

Alex B.

Yelp
I have been in here a few times over the past few months and realized I had been missing out on this hidden gem. Great cold brew and awesome pastries. I just returned for the first time in over a month and to my surprise, I left with a different view of this place. Since when did coffee shops decide to charge for "less ice" in a cold brew or iced coffee?! I ordered a large cold brew, just black, with less ice. The cashier informed me this would cost extra because I asked for less ice.... I had never heard of something like that in my life. After I paid and left, I was wondering if this was maybe their attempt at cracking a joke with a customer. But when I got my emailed receipt I realized it was not a joke. They charged me an extra $0.50 for asking for less ice in a beverage that is already cold. Seems pretty petty to me, likely going to get my cold brew elsewhere and sadly leaving a 3/5 for this experience.
google avatar

Courtney M.

Yelp
the vibes here are the worst. super standoffish workers who either don't talk to you or act like you're inconveniencing them for walking in. food wasn't great, it was cold and i guess there wasn't an option to warm anything. i got the hot apple cider, pretzel sticks and a chocolate croissant. the hot apple cider was the best part.

Yelp
I love Central Coffee Company (the caffeinated Triple C!). The staff is always really friendly and the shop is incredibly cozy and welcoming. There are also a few tables out front for if the weather is nice (or, as is often my case, if you have your four legged love with you). :) Lately I've been most appreciating their nitro infused cold brew on tap. It is very refreshing and well made. Their hot beverages are great too, but I love the cold brew in these hot summer months. So, don't be scared away by the tiny parking lot. Grab a spot or park on the street, and come on in to support this awesome local business. They'll make you never want to return to a chain coffee shop again!

Yelp
I finally had the pleasure of stopping in Central Coffee today after seeing numerous tweets from them about their coffee of the day, business hours, etc. I had coffee in house, served in a mismatching saucer set-just my style. I'm not a saucer kinda girl at all but it was lovely and so was the Central Shorty. I kept looking for images of Jesus or the Virgin Mary in my coffee but no go.However, I think I saw a heart which was appropriate because I fell in love with CC today. This is going to be my new go to spot for coffee and free Wi Fi access when I'm in the Plaza area. None of the patrons looked the same like they do at other coffee establishments and don't believe I saw anyone wearing a J Crew item-love. Plus no brats running wild, so yes CC, you have won my heart. I want to be a Central Shorty!!
google avatar

Yelp
Walked in this place and wasn't even greeted with a, "hello, welcome in". What I got was, "do you have your mask". Now keep in mind, the sign on the door says "Mask required, unless sitting in". I had my huge work bag in toe so, clearly I was coming to stay for a while. As I set myself up at available table (the place was a ghost town at noon btw) I figured let me get a pastry or something yummy to eat to support this small business. As I was standing there looking at the menu, not one person said, "can I help you", "let me know if you have any questions"...nothing. The were too busy talking amongst themselves to even care. A male looked in my direction and kept doing what he was doing. Did I mention that it was so noisy and disruptive, not due to the patrons but the workers. I didn't even stay more than 20 min. I ended up leaving and as I walked out I hear the same clerk. Mumble, "out". Don't waste your time coming here. The coffee is subpar and the workers have no customer service or class.
google avatar

Sheree W.

Yelp
First of all, the music was great! I usually have to wear headphones to listen to music I like, but they played all of my favorites...it was like being in Trader Joe's where they play hit after hit and you find yourself singing and dancing and picking up things you didn't even know you needed. Anyway, I had a large dirty chai latte and the breakfast casserole on recommendation from other reviews. Both were great. The place is kinda small so hopefully you'll find a seat. The parking lot is tiny so hopefully you'll get a spot. I lucked up on both! I could definitely see myself here again to enjoy the atmosphere and try something else from the menu. I was able to get in a writing session and the young ladies who work here are super nice! Love great customer service!
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Very good place for coffee! It is a somewhat hip coffee spot that is clean and comfortable. My only criticism is there aren't many places to sit. I partook of the French Press medium roast and it was smooth, non-acidic and flavorful! My wife enjoyed her decaf cherry mocha, which was not too sweet. I wish there were more places like this near me!
google avatar

Yelp
Specific to COVID: I've been stopping here once a week for the last month to get a coffee at 6 am before going for a walk in Plaza Midwood. They are one of the few coffee shops opening up before 7/8 am right now and I love that. You can use the Cloosiv app to have your drink waiting on a table outside or place your order at the door then wait outside for it. They are definitely taking measures to keep us safe yet caffeinated. Specific to the shop: My favorite drinks are the lavender vanilla latte and the cinnamon brown sugar latte. Subtle flavors, not overly sweet. The staff is super friendly especially considering how early I get there. Definitely check them out if you are in the area and craving some caffeine.
google avatar

Amanda L.

Yelp
The coffee and pastries were PERFECT! It was a great shop for a 'pick me up' coffee and afternoon snack. We got a Matcha Lavender Latte with Almond Milk and an Iced Chai Latte with Oat milk. We also picked up A biscotti and a vegan chocolate cake: Everything was delicious and I would be back to get the same order. I totally understand the concern with COVID, so there was no seating inside. But it was a bit tough to see the menu when you go inside since you're just ordering by the door. Another concern was we felt rushed trying to order as if the late helping us excepted us to know what to get. I didn't give this all five stars due to the customer Service. Both ladies seemed like they just wanted to go home, giving the "fake" service voice and you could feel the vibe from them. Customer service goes a long way... I will Deff give this shop another shot because their coffee was pretty darn good. Hopefully, I can give a better review on the customer service provided! Thank you.

Yelp
Great medium-strong coffee. Variety of flavor options. Fairly priced. 3 parking spots. Few bakery bite options. Our go-to coffee place because we are always in the area. Better coffee here than other Charlotte options. White mocha flavor option is money.
google avatar

Jamie M.

Yelp
I just say i really really like this place. Today was the first day I did not know any of the employees! But the service was great. I usually get a frapp here, and I love the way it tastes. Different from Star Bucks and more of a coffee flavor (I get the mocha). Also it's smooth and light. I like the inside, perfect lighting with it on the darker side. Most of the time I'm here it's super early and i'm not done up for the day. So the lighting is perfect. So far I've had a bagel and apple fritter. The bagel was a bagel, exactly what I expected. The apple fritter was a lot more than expected. With a cinnamon flavor through out, this was a tasty treat and goes well with coffee. As with almost every place in Plaza Midwood, parking sucks. So far I have been able to park, but I am also handicap and those spaces are usually available. This is my new go to little coffee shop.

Jarad F.

Yelp
Too bad I can't rate it lower. Seen others walking in and out with dogs but was asked to leave because my Service Dog wasn't safe around children.
google avatar

Ellie Q.

Yelp
As a coffee lover, I have tried almost every coffee shop in Charlotte, and CC is my absolute favorite. I usually get the iced caramel latte with almond milk or dirty chai latte with soy milk. Coffee here is rich and flavorful, not water down like some places.
google avatar

Britanie B.

Yelp
Let me start with I LOVE THIS COFFEE SHOP!! The staff is always sooo nice and helpful and the coffee options are great and the Quiche is UNREAL!! An addiction of mine to be honest... However, every time I go in the manager is always scowling at the customers and I have seen her get upset at the employees for dumb things! Would it kill you to crack a smile lady?! Your employees are killing it making coffee at light speed and she is moving slow as molasses looking upset all the time!
google avatar

Anna L.

Yelp
Great location, high-quality coffee, and delicious homemade pastries. The employees are extremely sociable and friendly, which can be hard to find these days (looking at you Dunkin). Central Coffee is hands down my go to coffee shop in the Plaza area. I also highly recommend the pumpkin muffins and zucchini bread! So good!
google avatar

Jessica B.

Yelp
I am not sure why all the positive reviews here. I went, I had coffee/espresso drinks and a pastry. It was fine but nothing I was that excited about. I dont even remember it a few hours later. Maybe I am missing something. I prefer undercurrent down the road...
google avatar

Uriah B.

Yelp
Amazing service! Personable (even to us first-timers)! Great menu with options for everyone. Service was quick but not rushed. Great place to gather, work, catchup or just relax and people watch. One of the best local coffee shops I've experienced.
google avatar

Abby A.

Yelp
It's been great getting food and coffee here during the pandemic. Everyone is safe and they keep the line moving quickly. It's a to-go set up during the pandemic, which makes me feel better about going in to order. Thanks Central Coffee!
google avatar

Mila H.

Yelp
Nice coffee shop off Camden. Decent staff. Good selection of flavors and coffee/espresso options. I tried the cortado and quiche, both were good.
google avatar

Megan J.

Yelp
Central Coffee is a good spot to stop for some coffee. The only drawback for this place is the parking situation. I have left here several times and driven to another coffee shop because I couldn't find anywhere to park. It is small, kind of dark inside with a very "chill" vibe. They have a few pastry options. Great coffee and staff is friendly.
google avatar

Gina M.

Yelp
The Frappe is my regular and is amazing and you can add flavor to it. Their coffee is really good and strong! They also have breakfast quiches that are VERY GOOD. My favorite one is the spinach and mozzarella one. Their parking lot is kind of small but you can park along the street as well.
google avatar

Jay T.

Yelp
I ordered a chai latte with oat milk but received pretty much warm milk, 15 mins later. Stay away from the chai

Catherine Z.

Yelp
Strong black coffee that was delicious! Enjoyed it and the nice seating area. Brought family back next day.

DeAndra R.

Yelp
Great customer service and coffee! Got the spinach quiche and it was delicious. Definitely going back!
