Shanghai

"Perched on the second floor of the Central Hotel is this sister restaurant to the famed hairy crab restaurant, Wang Bao He. You’ll find this speciality here in season but it’s equally known for its authentic Shanghainese cooking. Their classic dishes use quality ingredients and are prepared with care. One highlight is the house-manufactured yellow rice wine, which you can buy to take home with you, along with various other ingredients." - Michelin Inspector

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Perfect Stay in the Heart of Shanghai! I had an excellent stay at Central Hotel during my recent business trip to Shanghai. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of the city, with easy access to key landmarks, shopping, and dining. The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable, providing the perfect balance between modern amenities and relaxing ambiance. The service was top-notch, with attentive staff who ensured every detail of my stay went smoothly. If you’re looking for a place that combines comfort, convenience, and professionalism, Central Hotel is the one. Highly recommended for both business and leisure travelers! 🇨🇳 Shanghai never disappoints—already looking forward to my next visit!

Lovely family stay for us, superbly located near to Nanjing Road and a 15 minute walk to the Bund. The staff were friendly and all the guests, mostly Chinese of course were quiet and polite. Towels changed daily without asking and the room was big and very clean. Used the Family Mart across the road to stock up on water and snacks, £1.5 for 5 litres of water. Very happy with our stay here, China was a great country and the people were warm and friendly.||

One of the best hotel in the area . Easy access to Nanjing pedestrian Street. 100m to East Nanjing subway Station. Spacious room . Breakfast is good Compared to the other same price hotels. Front Desk staff not so friendly but i have to admit that Steven Fang helped us and upgraded our room. Definitely gonna stay the next time we come to Shanghai

Excellent location. The room was very comfortable. The staff is really nice and efficient. The hotel needs some renewal; there are no USB connections, and the window could not close well, so the wind just entered the room whistling. Breakfast was a bit disappointing for what I expected and paid—not enough fruits, only one type of cheese. Anyway, I would be happy to stay there again.

We stayed 5 nights at the Central Hotel Shanghai. The location was excellent, walking distance to the Bund and People's square. Our room was on the 16th floor and we didn't have a great view, but the room was very nice and clean. Maid service was great as they tidy up the room every day, brought water and changed towels. The hotel does not have a pool, but they give you access to a sister hotel nearby. **Big negative** My wife and two daughters tried using the hot tub on the 4th floor, but they were not allowed and the lady attendant told them the hot tub was only for men. We were surprised and obviously unsatisfied with the rules. We ate breakfast every morning on the 2nd floor since we had it included in our reservation. Coffee was great and food was ok. I would definitely get the breakfast due to the convenience and price. Only the front desk staff spoke a little English and we used translation apps to do most communication. Lastly, the gym was good, it was bigger than most hotel gyms and well equipped with a few machines and free weights. This was a pleasant surprise, however, the three treadmills were very old and made tons of noise when you increased a little speed. I would say the only objection to this hotel was the hot tub issue.

Preferred hotel for the last few visits to Shanghai.. always maintain good standard of cleanliness and comfortable to stay.. always feel like home upon reaching the hotel.. could get around conveniently.. with good options of foods within walking distances.. and just a street away from the famous Nanjing Pedestrian Street, which is really happening day & night with really attractive lighting! could see the Shanghai Tower standing right in front!Overall, will stay again in my next return to Shanghai!

(At night) Disrespectful rude hotel. I got a skin rash while staying there and also got a cold because it's so dry and dusty. Aside from that... I left my charger behind when I moved hotels to go to Disney, so I used the Meituan app. And I asked if they could hand it to the delivery man. They told me to send my passport information by email. But when I tried to ask the hotel's email, they abruptly hung up. I tried to find out email myself, but there wasn't one. I thought maybe English was too hard for them, or it would be easier if I spoke in Chinese. So I asked the Melia Hotel staff to use Chinese. They were like angels, kind enough to help me, and personally interpreted for me. So I successfully sent them my passport and accommodation information. But after that central hotel's staff sighed and said, "We're busy right now." Haha😂 You know, at first they told me to send a passport photo by email. But they didn't give me proper email address. So I tried to ask their email again. But when I asked their email address, they didn't give it to me. So I told them everything in person, they sighed and said, "Aren't you Chinese? Do you have a Chinese phone number?" Haha😂. What an amazing question. Even they know i'm korean. I was leaving my phone with a friend and they started talking nonsense. This is the first time I've ever been so ignored at a hotel. I'm so embarrassed lol😂 Oh well, the daytime staff was fine, but the night shift staff is just... really pitiful. Honestly, I find it funny that I'm being treated like this for a small charger, and I feel bad for the Melia staff who were so kind to help me, so I just said no and left it at that humorous hotel. lol😂 Well, there's been talk for a while that the night shift staff is a mess, so be careful, everyone lol😂 I'm so outraged that I'm just writing this, so I'm sorry that it's disorganized lol😂

This Hotel is a fantastic location and a hotel which looks like a grand hotel.. Lots of Marble, bellboys, high ceilings and chandeliers. Staff were fantastic and very accommodating.|Both rooms and food are great, I would not hesitate for a second in staying here again. We loved it.
