Central Hotel

Good 4* hotel, downtown Shanghai. Spacious clean room, everyday like brandnew snowwhite towels. ||Only the heater works in the room, so the room is always 27 degrees, which can be hot on times during spring when I was there. ||Breakfast was more for the chinese market, nit that much choice for westerners. ||Unfortunately not easy to communicate with the staff, as only a few do speak english, but at least they are all willing to help you, woth their translation app. ||Be aware: no Whatsapp/No Instagram/No google/No Gmail etc. In China!! ||Chinese applications only!!! So, dont waste your money on buying a e-simcard or a chinese simcard, above mentioned applications are just blocked by the government!!!||So, just relax and or work and enjoy SH!!!

Excellent hotel in the heart of Nanjing Road. Nice view, especially from the upper floors. Spacious rooms. Decent breakfast. Metro station (line 2, direct to both airports - PVG and SHA) - 7-10 minutes on foot. I recommend!

I had an excellent stay at Shanghai Central Hotel. The staff was great! I had coffee at lobby bar every single day, it was the best coffee I drank in Shanghai. The location is perfect. It’s close to the Bund and other iconic places in the city. I would definitely recommend the hotel to other clients if they are looking for a quiet and peaceful place to stay in while in Shanghai.

As we are out most of the time, there is no chance to experience the amenities other than those provided within the room. The latter are as per our expectation. However, we did experienced having some insect bites on our bodies during our stay at the hotel.

For a place that prides itself as a 4.5 star hotel, the services provided has been quite unprofessional. Particularly one of the evening house keeping lady, who continuously gave us attitudes when delivering items and checking lights that wasn’t working. Also the three loitering valets outside the hotel on the morning of March 29th, who offered zero assistance and stood there watching myself, mum and my elderly grandfather struggling with our large luggages onto our waiting cab. NEVER in any hotels have I ever received such cool treatment from hotel staff, especially at checkout. I suppose this is what impression a 4.5 star hotel in Shanghai want to leave us with. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone else. There are so many better choices in the area.

Location is the main plus for this hotel due to its nearest to city attractions. Service is reasonable. Room is clean and functional although the decor is a little dated.

The hotel has a modern and stylish design. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with comfortable beds, large windows, and modern amenities. The bathrooms are also spacious and clean, with rain showers and bath tubs.

Hotel is really convenient. Staff friendly and they speak English. You can request for additional drinking water without charge. Will book again if come to shanghai
