Upcoming Boston Restaurant Closures | Eater Boston

"After months of speculation that its space would transform into a recreational marijuana dispensary, I confirmed that Central Kitchen, a popular Central Square restaurant and bar that had been in operation for over two decades, is officially closing; owner Gary Strack told Eater that the restaurant will continue to operate as a pop-up and special-event space — as it has been doing for the past several months — until construction on the dispensary begins." - Eater Staff

This place has more misses than hits turkey wing was flavorful but was tuff as hell and the dressing was baked cornbread not dressing at all. I have been on multiple occasions and they always forget something on the order. And they charge you 4% on card they don't tell you that it's a sticker on the side of the scanner with the words faded off.

First time eating their food and very disappointed! The black eye peas were salty and the Mac and cheese had more cheese than noodles. The peach cobbler was so small for $5 and didn’t have any crust! Just peaches and sauce. Don’t talk about the smallest square of cornbread you got that was Jiffy mix. We saw the big boxes on the counter. Green was ok. Not worth the drive for me.

I ordered pork chops they taste like they been sitting out FOR DAYS! And then they put a BUNCH of unnecessary nasty seasoning on them! Everybody don’t like that I also ordered dirty rice it was just literally white rice not even with salt! My 11 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER said the cabbage taste like dirt! Like yall didn’t clean them! My kids didn’t even eat dinner cause it was NASTY! And the grease had to be at least a week old!

The food here is pretty good soul food. It hits the spot for a quick homestyle Sunday dinner. The cornbread dressing and fried pork chops are tasty. It's inside the party store but it's a well managed take out eatery. The meatloaf wasn't my favorite. Some selections on the hot food table looked less appetizing than others. Order online and pickup in person to avoid card service charges. Check your order before you leave the store!!!!!!

True review for Central Market Kicthen inside the liquor store. I went on Feb 13th. The cook asked us not to blast them on social media to come to her first if it wasn’t good. Well it wasn’t and her excuse is the over flux of customers bc of the social media post. She can’t keep up it’s one person that can cook. What irritates me is that she said the social media post is the reason for the inconsistency basically. But you had about 3 more popular influencers come and all their food was good??! How when a regular customer comes you have an excuse. The greens taste earthy like she just put them in the pot NO SEASONING. But everything we had that day was horrible. As pictured we got oxtails, fried chicken wings, sweet potatoes, collard greens and mac and cheese. All the food we had was horrible I do not recommend. Also it took over an hour to get “fresh” food.

I Stopped in yesterday to grab some sides to go with my homemade meatloaf. The food was terrible! The mac was dry as if it's been sitting all day. The dressing had a weird taste, nothing like sage. Just a weird after taste. The greens lacked flavor. I spent $50. We didn't even finish eating!

This convenient store is nothing at all what I expected when I walked in. It is so clean, neatly designed, and welcoming. The store has a cool aesthetic with very modern aisles and cooler sections. The variety of wine and food offerings is grand! The mural when you first walk in to the right is very creative! The restaurant offers so many tasty choices. The cooking staff and convention staff were very welcoming and answered all my questions when ordering. We really enjoyed the freshness of the catfish and the smothered pork chops, which were cooked fresh to order. The sides were somewhat bland, but they were still pretty good. We will definitely be back in to try more of their menu. Thank you 💚

The staff was very friendly and helpful. I only gave 4 stars for the service because I got all the way home 30 (minutes away) to discover 2 items were missing from my order. It's very clean. It's very reasonably priced.
